Tollywood In Shocking Transition Stage
The Telugu film industry is going through a very shocking transition right now. The situation is such that Filmmaking budgets have fallen down alarmingly. TV channels have stopped buying the satellite rights for films. Even the audience collection is ruled out because they are coming only for big star movies to theatres. However, moviemaking will not stop so the transition is happening. A most cost effective method of filmmaking will happen.
A film can be made with Rs 40 lakhs- Rs 50 lakhs budget as the maximum but that requires great experience and skills. Since not all can do that a minimum of Rs 1 cr is required. If film is good then it will be on plus side and get profits. If not then around Rs 50 lakhs is gone. Given this situation, remuneration for technicians is also tough. Once, cinema industry was considered to be a money making stream but not anymore. As to why TV channels are not buying films is because they say TRPs are not coming.
The devotional and reality shows audience is there but sitting in front of TV for full movie is not happening now except for big star movies. On the other hand, the majority movies are catering to 18-20 age group audience so the family audience stays away. Even the youngsters are not sitting as they are busy with internet and mobile phone. So, with less salaries and less payments work should take place and the glory is getting reduced.
Today, Telugu cinema can be classified as star movie and non-star movie and only the first category is getting due preference. That way, the gap is widening. Though the small and medium film heroes want to do big movies there is no space. In an year, about 15-20 big movies come and rest all are small and medium budget flicks which are at risk. Going forward, medium budget flicks will also become extinct. This transition doesn’t look good for Tollywood’s future.
Gopala… Better Than The Original
“Gopala Gopala” and there is no need to talk more. As the First Look wallpaper and Motion Poster of the movie have took the world by a storm within 45 minutes of the launch, trending at top spot on social networks, the Telugu version of ‘Oh My God’ surely made tremors. And still, comparisons are bound to happen between the original and this remake. Going by the talk in social circuits, Pawan Kalyan’s classy look as a divine being has outshined Akshay Kumar from the original.
In ‘Oh My God’, Akshay played Lord Krishna while Paresh Rawal is the main protagonist as his devotee. Though the First Look poster of “Gopala Gopala” is very much like ‘Oh My God’ poster, still Pawan’s grace look and Venky’s comic imitation dominated the original. If Akshay wore jeans and t-shirt to impress as Lord Krishna, Pawan brought more characteristic look to the role with his laalchi and Nehru coat kind of attire. That is where fans have connected quite well it seems.
Also the motion poster got immense applause for the music scored by Anup Rubens and this is also a step higher than the original movie. These observations are made by Bollywood folks and their comments surprised everyone. Well, Pawan Kalyan is one charming guy who could turn the tides in his favour and so is Venky with his antics. We can’t ask better!

What medicines did Lakshmi Parvathy give to NTR?
Controversy’s favorite child, Lakshmi Parvathy seems to have caught herself in wrong foot with her recent letter to KCR. It is a known fact that in her letter, she requested KCR to conduct an investigation into who was responsible for NT Rama Rao’s death in January 1996.
Finally, she got a retort from TDP’s firebrand leader Nannapaneni Rajakumari who said that NTR is a strong man who wasn’t disturbed even when they revolted but it was only after he going into full grip of his wife that something happened to him.
Rajakumari demanded Lakshmi Parvathy to reveal what she had mixed in his food in his final days, what were the medicines she gave him and why she secluded NTR from his family members. Clearly, Lakshmi Parvathy should have avoided this topic and she herself has stoked fire now.

Kavitha: We have nothing against NTR
TRS MP from Nizamabad and daughter of CM KCR Kalvakuntla Kavitha has clarified her party stand on the ongoing row over naming domestic terminal at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Shamshabad, after legendary actor-leader NTR. Commenting on the issue, Kavitha said, “No doubt NTR is respectable personality and we’ve nothing against him.
But the issue is he is not from Telangana. We’re finding fault with the timing of the decision. It’s hardly six months that the state has been bifurcated and emotions are running high in both AP and Telangana. It’s a sensitive time and not good time to make such changes as it’d provoke Telangana people.”
Kavitha didn’t stop there and lashed out at Opposition Congress for “protesting” against the whole issue. “I seriously have no clue why Congress is crying foul over the issue. Rajiv Gandhi’s name is still there. I think they just want to be visible and to be in news. Only for this, they’re creating disturbances for the proceedings of Rajya Sabha. Congress is playing politics.”
