New Delhi: Actor Hrithik Roshan is currently happy and content in his space as an actor, but when the time is right and if he has a subject, he may go behind the camera to direct a film.

However, he says “it will take time”. His father Rakesh Roshan is a successful director and producer of films like “Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai” and the “Krrish” series. Does Hrithik see himself branching into these fields in future? Well, the actor didn’t rule it out when he asked this at an event here Friday. “I’m going to be living till I’m 90 years old. I’m going to be absolutely unstoppable and my service to the world will go on to the last breath of mine.

Having said that, directing a film is may be…all I can say is, something has started,” Hrithik said. He finds it to be a “difficult” process. “To direct is not just to make a film. You have to be a leader, like a CEO of a company, or say like my dad! He’s incredible, he’s a boss who’s also a worker…and there’s a lot that goes as far as a director are concerned. “But I’m a man who loves challenges….I don’t like to live in fear. So maybe in time, I will be directing,” he added.

During a later media briefing, the 40-year-old contemplated on the matter again and questioned: “I have a father who’s the best director in the world. Why will I ever not want to be directed by the best director in the world and take it in my hands?” Nevertheless, he went on to say: “Maybe someday if I have a subject and I take his (my father’s) advice and guidance and if he feels it’s the right time for me and if I feel it’s the right time for me, and my uncle (Rajesh Roshan) is equally inspired, then maybe they will all back me and push me for it. But it will take time.

As of now, his entire focus is on “Bang Bang”, his big ticket film, slated to release Oct 2. “Right now, “Bang Bang” is releasing and it just reaffirms the fact that I’m pretty okay at what I’m doing…so I can last a few more years doing what I’m doing.”

Trikoti happens to be a senior of director Rajamouli when our star-director is working as an assistant of director Kranthi Kumar long back. At that time, Trikoti was supposed to direct Tamil superstar Vijay in a big movie but the movie got halted midway during per-postproduction. Later he tried his luck, and started new projects 5 times and ended up with no-starts and no-rolling. ‘If Rajamouli is not there, then I wouldn’t enjoy a stature today.

Mahesh Babu Aagadu released yesterday with loads of expectations. Superstar Mahesh Babu’s ‘Aagadu’ has managed to collect 9.74 crores across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana regions on day 1. Nevertheless, the movie failed to reach the expectations due to lack of estimated entertainment.

The movie failed to break Day 1 record of Pawan starrer Attarintiki Daredi due to mixed talk.While the Pawan Kalyan starrer movie raked Rs 10.75 Crore on first day in AP and Nizam, Aagadu stood next to it by collecting Rs 9.74 Crore This film has become the highest grosser for day 1 in Mahesh Babu’s career and all time second best of TFI on Day 1.With entry of Aagadu NTR Badshah moved to third place.

An ace director and his trusted-writer were caught in inebriated condition by Jubilee Hills police on Friday night. While the writer was driving the car, the director was sitting in the seat next to driver’s seat.

As part of the regular checkup against drunk and drive in the weekends, police got hold of the duo. After examining, cops confirmed that the BAC (Blood Alcohol Content) was higher than the normal level. Their car was seized and they were asked to leave in another vehicle. The writer, who was driving the vehicle, was asked to attend before the court on Monday. This is not the first time that the writer was caught in drunk and drive. Earlier he was caught alongside a star hero and a comedian. The director is known for being in news for wrong reasons. He recently courted a controversy and he is facing several cases due to his “offensive” comments. He is also said to be in debts. 

The alleged rift between director Sreenu Vaitla and director Ram Gopal Varma seems to have widened. After Vaitla attacks Varma in Aagadu, RGV took to Twitter and snapped back at Vaitla by jibing the film. The duo have hit rough weather sometime back and that is the reason behind whole series of happenings.

It all started when one of the songs in Varma’s KSD Appalaraju (Lucktho Siva Cinema Theesei…) has the lines “Namo Venkatesa Anna Sreenu Vaitla Ki Panga Namame Migile Chivariki”. Sreenu took it seriously and this led Sreenu to take potshots at Varma in Dookudu, Baadshah. Now it got intensified and Vaitla openly named Ram Gopal Varma in his latest release Aagadu. Buzz is that Varma is not going to leave it here and he is now planning to hit out at Vaitla in his next. Hope both the directors sit and resolve the issues and bury the hatchet. 

It appears that almost every other thing related to the latest release ‘Aagadu’ has got a record in itself. The latest we hear is about the script of the film. Wondering how? Here are the details. It is heard that the makers of the film 14 Reels Entertainment had paid about Rs 80 lakhs for the script writers of the film ‘1-Nenokkadine’.

And now, for ‘Aagadu’ it is heard that the banner has spent a whopping Rs 85 lakhs on the script writers including their sittings and other discussions. Reports say a total of 8 to 9 writers were on the job. Moreover, since director Sreenu Vaitla parted ways with his regular writers Kona Venkat and Gopi Mohan, he brought in a new team.

All in all, this sure has become an expensive affair for the 14 Reels banner and in this process, they have also registered a record by spending the highest for writers in Tollywood. As it is, the banner is known for spending a lot on locations, stars and other things but the list now comprises of the script department as well.

On a whole, mixed talk on day one might contribute to around 9-9.5 crores share collections in AP and Telangana, and that won’t break any existing First Day records. In USA, it is too early to predict the collections graph but premiere-shows have run packed as Mahesh’s stamina helped Aagadu mint around 1 Crore from them.

Looking at the way trade is unfolding, probably Aagadu might end up in and around 45+ crore club, if no other movie gives a tight run or knock it down in coming weeks. Anyway, these figures will not suffice the hunger of fans, who are waiting for a blockbuster Industry Hit. Collecting 70+ crore is impossible with this above-average talk even if it is Mahesh, which implies that ‘mega’ target is missed by miles.

Ever since the news about Shruti Haasan’s item number alongside Mahesh Babu in Aagadu got broke, there had been a lot of buzz. Shruti too raved about the sizzling song and told everyone she comes across that the song was “important” and “people would know why I chose it only after the movie release”. But all that has gone down the drain after the release of Aagadu.

The song didn’t stand out as claimed by Shruti and it poured cold water on the hopes of her fans. And no, there is no “importance” to the song as said by her. Of course, Mahesh has stolen the show and Shruti’s efforts have gone wasted. It seems, Shruti has made a wrong choice. It’s time for top heroine Shruti to rethink twice before making such decisions.
