If you are aspiring to be a producer, then here is something that might work for you. A producer who has scored six to seven flops and still finds the distributors support he will always be happy. Now, when the seventh film becomes a hit, the distribution group says “We won’t pay but you have to pay reverse”. When the producer asks why? they say “Backlogs are there so you owe us for all the flops of the past.”
The producer is shocked and thinks “How many hit movies do I have to do to compensate that loss? That way I will never get any money.” A producer can make only one movie in an year. Only exceptions like RGV make 2-3 films per year. If they want to do self release they won’t get theatres. Recently, one producer paid double rent to theatres and released a film but nobody even knew when it came and went. We cannot disclose those details here for obvious reasons.
So if you are thinking “I am a producer and I have close distribution support” then don’t think you are safe. The success rate of films is meager but if producers can really get the dates of big stars like Mahesh Babu then fine. Without distributors blessings nothing will happen, about three or four individuals control the entire distribution mechanism. Point is, cinema has crossed the range of passion and it is all about money. Without proper groundwork and business sense it will not work. Of course, if you want to spend your money without any returns then welcome to film industry!
New Producers! Beware Of Film Industry
NTR Cancels Two Mass Projects
Marking some new ideas to ramp his career, young tiger Jr NTR is leaving no stone unturned. In this process he is even not worried to say a big no on the face of directors. If our sources are to be believed, two mass projects finally got a red-flag from the talented young hero. Check this story.
Diverse reports are being heard about two commercial entertainers, one happens to be third film of Koratala Siva and another one is Vamsi Paidipally’s next project. Ever since ‘Yevadu’ clicked big time, Vamsi is keen to make another multi-starrer project. This time he focused on his Brindavanam hero NTR to deliver a stunning commercial film. Though Nagarjuna came onboard to sign the project with NTR, it seems like equation of on-screen characters are not working out. Coming to Koratala Siva’s movie, NTR has rejected that script long time and he is not approached again.
In fact, DVV Danayya announced his project with Koratala, but not hero’s name. Though speculations favored NTR and Charan, it is Raviteja who will be walking with this project after wrapping Kick 2, say insiders. That way, both Vamsi and Koratala’s have come to point blank halting as NTR bid adieu. For now, he will wrap up Puri Jagan’s movie and later joins Sukumar’s new-age love story. Watch this space for updates.
It’s Too Risky: Mahesh Babu
Superstar Mahesh Babu has clarity on what he wants to do and what he doesn’t want to do. Ask him whether it’s his game to do fantasy films and pat comes reply, “I think it’s too risky to do fantasy films. Considering that budgets also shot up these days, it won’t work out for me.”
Undeterred by the Box Office failure of One Nenokkadine, Mahesh Babu has no regrets for doing an experimenting film like One. The star, however, says he found a “small mistake” in the film and is keen to “not to repeat such mistakes” hereafter. Mahesh says, “One Nenokkadine has given me satisfaction and I’d love to do another film like it. We have found a small mistake in it and we’d not do it again.”
Mahesh’s much anticipated Aagadu is due for release on Sep 19.
Why Ganesh Festival Is NOT Waste Of Money?
The big saga of Ganesh festival has come to an end finally and reactions are pouring in. Many are lamenting that the entire thing is a wastage of money, current, transport, petrol and have also raised concerns about environmental pollution through garbage. But there is an other side to it.
The common sense is, nobody will throw money into the water just like that. Some say the artists preparing the idols are surviving only with this idol preparation. Though they do Durga idols the Ganesh idols are major revenue and they earn their livelihood along with their families for one year just by this single season.
Secondly, band groups, mike sets, trucks, dancers, all are making a decent sum of money through this and earning their living. Point is, money keeps getting transferred from one pocket to another but that cannot be called wastage. So, one needs to hail the Ganesh festival for both devotional and business reasons! The Nimajjanams got over after 11 days of festive season in Hyderabad and other major cities.
Express Lady Ups Her Oomph Factor
Piping hot and sought after beauty at the moment is none other than gorgeous Rakul Preet Singh. After signing almost half a dozen projects in Telugu post the success of Venkatadri Express, this curvaceous Miss India finalist has decided to up her stakes in Tollywood’s heroine race.
Aadi’s Rough, Ram’s Pandaga Chesko, Gopi Chand’s Loukyam and Manchu Manoj’s Current Theega are some of the upcoming films Rakul is making her glittering presence felt. The 23 year old Delhi siren will also be seen in Nitin’s upcoming flick under newcomer’s direction while she is being considered for Raviteja’s Kick 2 also. To cash on this craze, Rakul Preet has upped her oomph factor to a new level and posters of ‘Current Theega’ have it all.
Though skin shows aren’t a big issue for this hot lady who mesmerized with her bikini body during Miss India stint, she hasn’t projected her glamorous side for films. We hear that a couple of songs in Manoj’s October 2nd releasing ‘Current Theega’ gives Tollywood a tinge of Rakul’s mind-blowing glamour.
Charan 50 lakhs lesser to Mahesh?
Hey we are not talking about their respective remunerations, were the gap could be much wider, but we are talking about the rates for their dubbed films in Hindi. Right now, Mahesh bagged highest Hindi dubbing right for “Aagadu” which fetched Rs. 4 crore, but surely Charan is closely behind his arch rival Ram Charan Tej, whose film “Govindu…’ was sold for Rs. 3.5 crore, which is 50 lakhs lesser than highest price till date.
Even though, their Telugu markets have a difference of atleast 8 to 10 crores, but when it comes to Hindi dubbing rights, Charan is closely behind T-town superstar. It seems that Hindi film “Zanjeer’ although was a flop, but it gave some recognition for scion of Chiru family. May be, sooner than later, Charan could touch Mahesh figure in next few films or Mahesh will stay ahead even in dubbing market rates, which would be interesting to watch out for.
KS Ravindra in Queue for Pawan Kalyan
More than as a director, KS Ravindra is a proven talent both in Kannada and Telugu for his immaculate writing of stories and screenplay. After becoming a backbone for many of the star directors like Gopichand Malineni, Srinu Vytla and others, now Bobby aka Ravindra is entering into direction with ‘Power’ releasing on 12th of this month. There are high expectations on the film and Ravindra is utmost confident to go above their anticipations.
Trained a lot under senior like Kona Venkat, this young man is oozing in confidence. As per the reports from film circles, many top heroes ranging from Mahesh Babu and Pawan Kalyan will form a queue before Ravindra to act in his direction once ‘Power’ becomes a powerful hit. More than the new stories and novel screenplays, need of the hour is to provide ample entertainment and also elevate the heroism on peaks. If Bobby can do this, Pawan and Mahesh can be in his pocket.

One of the biggest reasons for Chiranjeevi all through out his career is his extraordinary judgement. He is a master in judging the pulse of the audience so he happened to have huge success rate in his prime. Chiranjeevi also does the same with Ram Charan. Very few know that it is Chiranjeevi who selects stories for Charan and similarly Charan is also enjoying the success.
It seems like Chiranjeevi’s calculations have gone well in the case of Govindhudu Andhari Vaadele. It is known that Chiranjeevi is closely monitoring the movie since its start. Pregnant Woman Saved By Facebook SOS
Social media is quite rampant and there is also a criticism that this has been spoiling today’s generation. But there is a very beneficial side to it if used wisely. Perhaps this incident will assert that. It is known news that Kashmir is currently reeling under the havoc of heavy floods.
Lakhs of people are getting stranded without proper contact. One among them was a pregnant lady whose house was surrounded by the flood water. While she had no way to come out, the lady’s sister got into Facebook and posted an SOS message on the Indian Army’s Facebook page listing out the details of her sister’s location.
As always, the army officers were prompt and they took this up immediately. A team was sent to the said location and the pregnant woman was rescued. While Facebook must be hailed for its effective reach, due credit must be given to the thousands of army officers and Jawans who are laying their lives down the line for our safety! Hats off Indian Army!!

Senior Actress Class To Shweta Basu
The recent incident involving actress Shweta Basu Prasad in prostitution is evoking mixed reactions. While some part of the film fraternity has expressed solidarity towards her and doing their best to get her life back to normal, there are also those who feel what she has done is not right.
The latest in that list is the senior actress Khushbu. Known as a fireband personality and a noted politician in Tamil Nadu, Khushbu has reportedly reprimanded Shweta’s actions. She reportedly said “If film offers are not coming, one can get into TV serials or become a character artist.
There are many without offers.” She reportedly added “Just because work is not coming, entering into prostitution is not acceptable. How are the parents accepting such things? I hold them responsible in Shweta’s case.” Well, it has to be seen how many will support and oppose Khushbu’s point of view now.
Mahesh’s Aagadu Over Shot By 15 Crores?
Budgets going over the board and producers facing release tensions are not new for Tollywood. But popular production ’14 Reels’ is said to be rolling the dice for wrong numbers again and again. Even after ‘1 Nenokkadine’ has over shot than expected only to push them into a financing deal with ‘Eros’, there seems to be no control over their immediate production venture, Mahesh Babu’s ‘Aagadu’.
Some unconfirmed reports indicated that Mahesh’s movie was initially planned at a budget of 38 crores such that there will be cool profits for all the involved parties. However during production all the costs have gone overboard with an excess 15 crores spun into the shootings. Total budget has finally shot up to 55+ Crores, forcing the producers to seek help from EROS Group again.
Earlier the same company has bailed out ‘1 Nenokkadine’, not from debts but from release-trouble. It is heard that ’14 Reels’ still owes some money to Eros regarding Sukumar’s intelligent flick. And now, they are heard taking a fresh loan from the Bollywood marketing giant to secure smooth release for ‘Aagadu’.
Authenticity of these reports could not be verified, but we can say that these stories are catching pace ever since ‘Aagadu’ posters started featuring logos of ‘Eros Group’. It seems like a ‘blockbuster’ and ‘industry hit’ kind of result should happen to post smileys on the faces of involved stake holders.
Bollywood Superstar follows Mahesh diet?
Few weeks back, B-twon star Salman Khan claimed that he has changed his work out regimen and also enjoying a new diet and revealed that, he is also consuming “Quina” to satiate his hunger. Actually, it was the only diet for superstar Mahesh Babu in 2013, when he totally relied on this magic powder for his lean and mean look in Nenokadine’. Under the guidance of trainer Kris Gethin, the Dhookudu star used to have 1/4 kg of Quina as breakfast and lunch and some times dinner too to keep himself fit and trim.
He even gave up usual diet like rotiis, rice and even biryani and just lived on this magic powder and showed his commitment for fitness. Even though its costly for a common man since 1 kg of quina works around Rs.3000 per day but for big stars like Salman and Mahesh its just peanuts, but we should appreciate their efforts to encourage young generation about the importance of health and fitness, through their lifestyles.
B-town star in Venky’s shoes?
After tasting big success with Telugu remake “Rowdy Rathore” (Vikramarkudu), B-town star Akshay Kumar is scouting for some potential scripts in T-town. He watched a couple of films like “Balupu” and “Yevadu” but wasn’t truly impressed, but now reportedly set his eyes on Venkatesh starrer ‘Laxmi’ since its good mix of heroism and family drama and has asked his producers to meet up Telugu producer Bujji, to procure the rights.
“Laxmi is definitely one of the options for Akshay” says a source. After Salman and Ajay, even Askhay looking down south for good scripts and surely Laxmi has all the ingredients, that would connect with masses and classes alike and Akshay after disastrous “Entertainment”, surely needs a good hit. Soon Akshay could be stepping into Venky’s shoes?

Including Shankar’s 100 Cr project, there are rumours that Mahesh will team up with Krish and Linguswamy. Superstar himself has given clarity over his future projects as he doesn’t want any speculations spoil the mood of fans. ‘I’ll be starting Koratala Siva’s project very soon. Then we have Puri Jagan’s movie in pipeline’, said Mahesh the other day. A close birdie chirped that Puri has already made a ‘sequel’ subject for which Mahesh got excited.
As there are enough indications and revelations by both the hero and this speed-gun director that they want to come up with either Pokiri or Businessman sequel, surely this could be one of them. Either Mahesh will be undercover cop or self-styled mafia don. Get ready!
Manchu Vishnu To Rope Swetha Basu?
After a Bollywood director has openly announced that he is keen to cast Swetha Basu Prasad once she steps out of rescue home in Hyderabad, seems like a Tollywood ace now wants to repeat the similar. That man with a big heart is none other than Manchu Vishnu, who like his father has this habit of helping the ones tangled into uneasy and complex situations.
Long back when Actor Suman was kept behind bars by Tamilnadu government under Goonda act, it is Mohan Babu who visited him at both jail and garlanded him after his release in order to give moral confidence. Even Vishnu is on the verge of doing similar thing as he wants to visit Swetha Basu at the rescue home, give her moral support, and then rope her as lead lady for his upcoming movie. Sources revealed that a fierce looking Vishnu is a soft person at heart and he can’t bear when someone innocent are getting mistreated.
If at all Swetha Basu gets that opportunity in Tollywood, undoubtedly that will be a biggest turning point and revival for her lost career. These days when rumors engulf an actress, film people are keeping her off as far as possible, but Vishnu is a different guy altogether. Let us wait for some official confirmation.
