Abishan Jeevinth Turns Actor with Youthful Romance With Love

Share

Young Kollywood filmmaker Abishan Jeevinth, who earned widespread appreciation for his debut Tourist Family—a critically acclaimed sleeper hit—has once again grabbed attention. This time, he steps in front of the camera as a lead actor with the coming-of-age romantic drama With Love. The film marks the directorial debut of Madhan, who previously worked as Abishan’s assistant.

Ahead of its theatrical release on February 6, the makers have unveiled the film’s trailer, which promises a relatable youthful romance blended with heartfelt emotions and breezy humour. With Love stars Abishan Jeevinth and Answara Ranjan in the lead roles.

The trailer largely focuses on building the central relationship, showing how two individuals come together for a shared purpose and gradually fall in love. Spanning nearly two and a half minutes, the glimpse takes audiences on a vibrant, youthful journey as the lead pair embarks on a quirky trip to reconnect with their school-time crushes—hoping to finally express feelings they had long buried. Interestingly, this journey of rediscovery leads them to see each other in a new light.

As the story progresses, the narrative shifts towards the consequences of their growing bond, especially the emotional and familial complications that arise. The trailer balances warmth and humour through light-hearted moments and witty exchanges before transitioning into a more dramatic space filled with intense emotions involving all key characters.

Both Abishan Jeevinth and Answara Ranjan deliver sincere performances, effectively conveying the emotional beats of their characters. Sean Roldan’s music stands out as a major strength, elevating the mood and emotional depth of the narrative.

Director Madhan appears to have explored a fresh idea within a familiar framework. With school- and college-based love stories traditionally resonating well with younger audiences, With Love has the potential to strike a chord. If the film manages to offer a refreshing perspective with engaging storytelling, it could well emerge as another feel-good romantic success.

From Rajahmundry to the Big Screen: Vinay Ratnam’s Debut Journey

Share

In the latest episode of manatelugu Debutant Diaries, we interacted with young filmmaker Vinay Ratnam, the director of the upcoming film Sri Chidambaram Garu, which is set for a theatrical release on February 6.

Vinay’s love for cinema traces back to his childhood in Rajahmundry. Watching Chiranjeevi’s films in jam-packed theatres left a lasting impression on him and sparked a deep emotional connection with the big screen. Long before he seriously considered filmmaking as a career, those experiences planted the seed of passion for cinema.

After completing his 10th class, Vinay and his friends shot a small horror short film during a night out. Inspired by Ram Gopal Varma’s short film contests that were popular at the time, the group ventured into filmmaking purely out of curiosity and fun. Vinay openly admits the film wasn’t great, but the joy he felt while shooting and editing it was something new and unforgettable. That experience stayed with him and gradually shaped his aspirations.

Though he later moved to Punjab to pursue engineering at Lovely Professional University, cinema never left his thoughts. While his interest in computers and the desire to explore life beyond his hometown influenced his academic choices, his passion for films only grew stronger. Eventually, Vinay decided to follow his heart and began working on Sri Chidambaram Garu, backed by the unwavering support of his close friends.

The journey, however, was far from smooth. The film faced financial hurdles and stressful moments when resources were limited. During these challenging times, Vinay’s friends stepped up, handling multiple responsibilities on set and standing by him throughout the production. Their collective effort and teamwork played a crucial role in bringing the film to completion.

When asked about remuneration, Vinay shared that opportunity matters more than money at this stage of his career. For him, proving himself as a filmmaker through quality storytelling is the real reward.

Vinay strongly believes in emotion-driven narratives. He feels that films which touch the heart leave a lasting impact, and he hopes Sri Chidambaram Garu will connect with audiences on that emotional level.

From a cinema-loving youngster in Rajahmundry to a debut director gearing up for his first theatrical release, Vinay Ratnam’s journey is a testament to passion, perseverance, and unwavering belief in cinema.

Allu Arjun Favors Age-Appropriate Casting for His Big Films

Share

In recent times, casting a heroine in her early 20s opposite a hero nearing 40 has often invited heavy trolling on social media. This growing scrutiny has prompted many star heroes to rethink their casting choices, with several now preferring actresses closer to their own age. As a result, some senior actresses, even those considered past their conventional prime, continue to secure big films and lucrative paychecks.

Following this trend, Allu Arjun made a notable casting choice for his next film directed by Atlee, roping in Deepika Padukone, who is just three years younger than him. Having already worked with co-stars both her age and significantly older, Deepika is now reportedly being selective, choosing only high-profile, big-ticket projects — one of which is Allu Arjun’s film.

Industry buzz now suggests that Allu Arjun may be repeating the same casting strategy. For his upcoming project reportedly to be directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Shraddha Kapoor, aged 38, is said to be under serious consideration for the female lead. Interestingly, Shraddha was earlier expected to feature in the “Kissik” song from Pushpa 2, but she opted out at the last moment.

With films headlined by a star like Allu Arjun offering massive reach and visibility, it’s a win-win situation, as these senior actresses gain renewed stardom while the films benefit from balanced and widely accepted casting choices.

Can Love Insurance Kompany Revive Krithi Shetty’s Career?

Share

After making a sensational debut with Uppena in Tollywood nearly six years ago, Krithi Shetty was widely tipped to become one of the most promising young actresses in the industry. However, despite her charming screen presence and popularity, her career did not progress as expected, with the lack of consistent box-office successes prompting her to explore opportunities beyond Telugu cinema.

That shift led her to Kollywood, where she signed multiple Tamil projects with renewed optimism. Her first Tamil release was expected to be Love Insurance Kompany, starring Pradeep Ranganathan and directed by Vignesh Shivan. However, due to repeated delays, the film’s release was pushed back. Meanwhile, her other Tamil outing, Karthi’s Va Vaathiyar, arrived in theatres on Sankranthi eve, but unfortunately ended up as a major box-office disappointment.

Now, all eyes are on Love Insurance Kompany, which is finally set to hit cinemas on February 14. Krithi Shetty is hoping the film will mark a turning point in her career, especially after a series of underwhelming outings. Fans are eager to see whether “Bebamma’s” luck can shine once again on the big screen.

At the same time, the 22-year-old actress is gearing up for her Bollywood debut, which is expected to be announced soon. With potential new projects on the horizon in Hindi cinema as well, the coming months could prove crucial in redefining Krithi Shetty’s career trajectory.

Komalee Prasad Makes Tamil Debut with Supernatural Thriller Mandavetti

Share

Actress Komalee Prasad has officially announced her Tamil film debut with Mandavetti, a female-led supernatural crime thriller that promises a gripping emotional and psychological narrative. Sharing the announcement with her fans, the actress expressed gratitude and excitement as she steps into a new cinematic space with a project she describes as both meaningful and performance-driven.

Produced by Tuskers Den Pictures and directed by Saranraj Senthilkumar, Mandavetti has gone on floors following a traditional pooja ceremony. The film is currently being shot in Usilampatti, in Tamil Nadu’s Madurai district, where the team has begun principal photography.

The story places Komalee Prasad at the heart of an intense narrative that blends crime, mystery, and supernatural elements, all told from a strong female perspective. Mandavetti explores themes of loss, identity, and emotional survival, with the lead character demanding deep emotional range and physical commitment. The role is said to be layered and challenging, making it one of the most significant performances of Komalee’s career so far.

Director Saranraj Senthilkumar, who earlier made an impression with Vella Kuthira, brings a restrained and atmospheric storytelling style to the film. Rather than relying on loud visual spectacle, the director focuses on mood and psychological tension, with the supernatural aspects woven subtly into the narrative to mirror the protagonist’s inner turmoil and amplify the emotional impact.

The film also features a strong supporting cast including Thenappan, Gajaraj, and Amritha. The technical team comprises cinematographer Prakash, editor Kuna, music composer Deepak Venugopal, and stunt choreographer Gowtham, all aiming to deliver a visually rich and emotionally engaging cinematic experience.

For Komalee Prasad, Mandavetti marks an important milestone as she makes her Tamil debut with a content-driven project. Known for choosing roles rooted in realism and emotional depth, she has previously appeared in Telugu films such as Napoleon, Rowdy Boys, Sebastian P.C. 524, HIT: The Second Case, HIT: The Third Case, and Sasivadane. She has also earned recognition through digital projects including Loser (ZEE5), Modern Love Hyderabad (Amazon Prime Video), and Touch Me Not (JioHotstar).

With Mandavetti, Komalee Prasad continues her journey of embracing meaningful and challenging roles, further strengthening her reputation as a performance-oriented actor. As filming progresses, the project is already generating curiosity for its unique genre blend and strong female-led narrative, with more updates expected in the coming months.

Sai Abhyankar: The Next Big Music Sensation in South Cinema?

Share

When the song “Aasa Kuda” went massively viral and started playing everywhere, music lovers across the country took notice of one name — Sai Abhyankar. At just 20 years old, the young sensation stunned listeners yet again with “Katchi Sera”, proving that the earlier success was no fluke. His work as both composer and singer for “Dude” further showcased his versatility and left a strong impression on audiences and industry insiders alike.

What truly stands out is the kind of projects Sai Abhyankar already has in his kitty. His biggest upcoming assignment is the much-awaited Allu Arjun–Atlee film, a massive platform for any composer. Alongside this, he is composing music for Suriya’s Karuppu, Karthi’s Marshal, and it has now been officially confirmed that Dhanush’s next film will also feature his music. Adding to the list, Sai Abhyankar is on board for #LCU film Benz and Sivakarthikeyan’s upcoming project, making his lineup one of the most exciting among young composers today.

If these films translate into musical blockbusters, Sai Abhyankar could very well emerge as the next big music sensation of South India. History has shown that composers who deliver multiple blockbuster albums back-to-back — from AR Rahman in the 90s, DSP in the 2000s, to Anirudh and Thaman in the 2010s — go on to dominate an era. All eyes are now on Sai Abhyankar to see if he can follow the same legendary path.

Ram Charan’s Peddi May Skip Birthday Release, Eyes May 1 Slot

Share

Ram Charan was initially expected to hit theatres with Peddi on his birthday, March 27. However, due to delays in production, strong buzz about a postponement had been doing the rounds for some time — and it now appears to be almost certain that the film will not make its planned birthday release.

With March 27 officially ruled out, the makers are actively considering a new release window. Latest developments suggest that the team is now eyeing May 1 as a potential release date. This slot is being seen as ideal, as production is expected to wrap up by then, leaving sufficient time for promotions.

However, the May 1 date comes with its own complication. Akhil Akkineni’s upcoming film Lenin has already locked this slot, with the makers announcing the release date well in advance and kickstarting promotions. The film holds significant importance for Akhil, as it marks a crucial attempt to bounce back after the disappointing response to Agent. Reports indicate that Akhil is confident and optimistic about Lenin, making a postponement a tough call.

If Peddi were to target the May 1 window, it would require considerable negotiation, as the Lenin team has been firmly working toward this date. Given that Ram Charan and Akhil share a close friendship, the chances of both films clashing at the box office appear minimal.

Ultimately, it may come down to which production house is able to convince the other and secure the suddenly high-demand May 1 release slot. The situation is being closely watched by trade circles, as it could significantly impact both films’ box-office prospects.

Vijay Deverakonda Set for Comeback with Ranabaali and Rowdy Janardhan

Share

For a long time, Vijay Deverakonda has been regarded as one of Telugu cinema’s most promising stars. Despite a few ups and downs in his career, he continues to command attention, and his upcoming projects are generating significant buzz.

Vijay is poised for a potential grand comeback with Ranabaali and Rowdy Janardhan, both carefully chosen to highlight his strengths while allowing him to expand his acting range. Ranabaali is shaping up to be an intense, story-driven film with a strong technical team and a vision that blends scale with substance. In contrast, Rowdy Janardhan promises a mass entertainer that reconnects Vijay with the raw energy and charisma that established him as a youth icon.

Early reports suggest both films strike a balance between commercial appeal and meaningful drama, giving Vijay ample scope for memorable performances. Trade analysts believe that if both films succeed, Vijay Deverakonda could firmly reestablish himself as one of the most exciting leading actors of his generation. Audiences are eagerly awaiting these releases, hoping to witness a star reclaim his momentum.

Aishwarya Rajesh Says Big Success Didn’t Boost Her Career

Share

Last Sankranti, Sankranthiki Vastunnam, starring Venkatesh, Aishwarya Rajesh, and Meenakshi Chaudhary, became a blockbuster, raking in impressive box-office numbers within days. Despite this success, Aishwarya Rajesh revealed that the hit did not significantly elevate her career.

Speaking about her journey, the actress noted that even after delivering a major commercial success, she has not been offered projects with big stars or large-scale films. She reflected on the harsh reality that the industry often operates on different criteria, independent of individual success.

Currently, Aishwarya is working alongside Tiruveer in O Sukumari. She expressed that while she hasn’t yet received widespread applause or blockbuster offers, she remains focused on meaningful projects that provide her creative satisfaction and continue to build her career steadily.

Samantha to Be Credited as “Samantha Nidimoru” in Maa Inti Bangaram

Share

After marrying her longtime beau Naga Chaitanya, Samantha updated her social media name to Samantha Akkineni. Following marital troubles, she first shortened it to “S” and eventually reverted to her original name, Samantha Ruth Prabhu. After marrying director Raj Nidimoru, Samantha has not changed her social media handles, sparking speculation among fans about whether she is consciously avoiding a repeat of her past experience.

Industry sources now suggest that Samantha may adopt her husband’s surname in a unique way—through her upcoming film. In Maa Inti Bangaram, which she is also producing, she is reportedly being credited as Samantha Nidimoru in the title cards. This approach allows her to maintain her social media identity while publicly acknowledging her marriage.

Following the trailer’s positive response, Samantha is hopeful that Maa Inti Bangaram, directed by Nandini Reddy, will deliver her a summer blockbuster after her previous outing, Subham. The film also aims to strengthen her position in Tollywood as a leading heroine capable of carrying female-centric projects.
