Ram Charan’s Comments On ‘Godfather’ Raises Debate!
During the talk at Hindustan Times Leadership Summit, Ram Charan spoke extensively about his film choices, remakes and his upcoming projects. He spoke about ‘Godfather’ which he co-produced with NV Prasad.
He said, “I’ve recently released a movie, Godfather. It’s a remake of Mohanlal’s Lucifer. The film was widely watched on OTT. It did about Rs 145 crore to Rs 150 crore. Yes, we will lose a big chunk of the audience who have already seen the original film on OTT. The audiences might not want to come to theatres to watch the remake. Maybe the charisma of the star, star power would also have dragged the people back to theatres even though they have seen. But will that formula always work? I’d say no. I don’t know if I’d continue doing a lot of remakes.”
He further added, “If I do a remake, I’d probably ask the producer of the original to not release it on OTT. On those conditions, I may do a remake. If I’ve seen a movie in theatres and if I like it, I might request him not release on OTT. Maybe I’ll be interested. Otherwise, going forward, we’d all prefer to do original scripts.â€
While many people are agreeing with Charan’s thoughts, it looks like the star hero understood this after the movie’s release. Because it was Chiranjeevi who said that Ram Charan insisted him to watch ‘Lucifer’ and bought the remake rights as he felt that it would be suitable for his dad’s image. While it is great to hear that Charan got an idea of how remakes are slowly fading away, his dad Chiru is currently working on another remake. He is acting in ‘Bholaa Shankar’ and it is the remake of Ajith’s super hit 2015 film ‘Vedhalam’.
‘Bedurulanka 2012’: Motion Poster is solid and interesting
At a time when new-age films are usually thought to be crime thrillers, murder mysteries or whodunits, writer-director Clax and producer Ravindra Benerjee Muppaneni are coming up with a dramedy. A combination of drama and comedy, the film is titled ‘Bedurulanka 2012’.
Actor Kartikeya Gummakonda, who backed a bold story like ‘RX 100’ as his second film, is back with actress Neha Shetty, whose ‘DJ Tillu’ was a big hit in February. This time, the actor is in a jolly mood in a film that is hinged to a comical hoax. The “biggest hoax” built around Yugantham in the 2012 Bedurulanka forms the base of this out-and-out comedy entertainer.
The film’s motion poster was released by Nani with a positive reaction. The makers are counting on the story, non-stop fun, human emotions, and action. Mani Sharma’s five songs, the technical output, the hero’s characterization, and the Godavari backdrop can attract the audience.
Ajay Ghosh, Satya, Raj Kumar Kasireddy, Srikanth Ayyengar, ‘Auto’ Ram Prasad, Goparaju Ramana, LB Sriram, Surabhi Prabhavathi, Kittayya have been named under the cast.
Kriti Claims That Its ‘Neither Pyaar, Nor PR’!
For the past couple of weeks, rumours of Bollywood beauty Kriti Sanon being in love with Tollywood’s macho man Prabhas has been all over the media. While some claim that the ‘Adipurush’ pair are in a romantic relationship, there are others who stated that it is just a PR stunt by Kriti’s team to generate buzz around her recent release ‘Bhediya’ and upcoming film with Prabhas that will be coming out in 2023.
Her ‘Bhediya’ co-star Varun Dhawan claiming that Kriti’s heart is with someone who is not from Mumbai and is currently shooting with Deepika Padukone has fuelled these rumours further. With these comments coming from Varun Dhawan himself, people started to believe in this news and it became viral all over the internet. With things getting out of hand, Kriti Sanon decided to clarify about it.
She took to social media and posted a story which reads, “Its neither Pyaar, nor PR. Our Bhediya just went a little too wild on a reality show. And his fun banter lead to some Howl-arious rumours. Before some portal announces my wedding date, let me burst your bubble. The rumours are ABSOLUTELY baseless.”
This post by Kriti has definitely put this gossip to bed for now. We need to see if it raises during the time of ‘Adipurush’ release once again or not. As we know, their high-budget mythological movie will be hitting the screens on 16th June 2023. Let us see what happens in the next six months.
Ram Charan lays one condition for remake
Ram Charan is a busy man now. He is shooting for RC15 in New Zealand and will next be collaborating with Buchi Babu.
A clipping from Charan’s recent interview is going viral on social media. In the interview, Charan is asked if he would ever do a remake in his career.
“Due to OTT, the audience’ exposure to other language cinema is at an all time high. So, remaking a film has its own pros and cons. If I’d personally ever do a remake, I’d ask the producer of the original not to release the film on OTT. That way, my remake will have theatrical pull” Charan said.
Previously, Charan delivered a blockbuster with Dhruva, the Telugu remake of Thani Oruvan. The remake was better than the original and did much better at the box office than the original.
CM YS Jagan attends Ali’s daughter’s wedding reception
Renowned Tollywood actor Ali’s daughter Fathima Rameezun got married in Hyderabad on Sunday. The grand wedding ceremony witnessed several popular people from Tollywood, like Chiranjeevi and his wife Surekha, Venkatesh Daggubati, Akkineni Nagarjuna and his better half Amala, MLA Roja, among others in attendance.
Ali arranged a lavish wedding reception in Guntur today, which was graced by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. The CM attended the reception ceremony and blessed the newlyweds.
It is worth mentioning that Ali is a strong loyalist to CM Jagan’s YSR Congress Party. Impressed with his support to the party, the CM recently appointed Ali as the Chief Adviser to Government (Electronic Media).
YS Sharmila Arrested, her Mother House Arrested By Cops!
YS Sharmila’s padayatra has been in the news since yesterday due to various reasons from her caravan getting attacked and police arresting her. She was shifted to the Panjagutta Police Station after arresting her. Along with Sharmila, her car was towed by the cops at Raj Bhavan.
Knowing that YS Sharmila was arrested and sent to the police station, her mother Vijayamma tried to go to the police station. But could not as she was not allowed by the cops to do so. The cops went to her house and asked her to not step out.
However, Vijayamma tried to sit for a protest at her house. But the cops spoiled her attempts. This led to a war of words between Vijayamma and the cops. She asked them what issues they have when she wants to protest against the treatment her daughter Sharmila is receiving.
It is said that YS Vijayamma was taken into house arrest by the cops as a safety measure. Before this, YS Viajayamma argued with the cops and asked if it was a crime to protest. She also warned the cops that she will stage a dharna against the situation.
Warning of a protest, Sharmila’s mother YS Vijayamma asked the cops if they want her to call the party workers here for support. Shall I call them on Mike she asked? After tension gripped Hyderabad with Sharmila’s arrest, YS Vijayamma’s house arrest added fuel to the tense situation in the state.
