Akhanda 2 Netflix Release May Be Delayed

Share

Akhanda 2 was widely expected to premiere on Netflix on January 9, 2026. Although the streaming platform has secured the film’s digital rights, an official announcement regarding the release date is still awaited. Speculation about the OTT premiere gained momentum after the film briefly appeared in Netflix’s search results, leading many viewers to assume it would debut this Friday. However, the title has since been removed from the catalogue, indicating that the streaming release may have been postponed.

As of now, neither the film’s makers nor Netflix have issued any formal confirmation about a delay.

Interestingly, this isn’t the first scheduling hiccup for Akhanda 2. In December 2025, the film’s theatrical release was pushed back by a week, and now the OTT release appears to have encountered a temporary roadblock as well.

Marking the fourth collaboration between Nandamuri Balakrishna and director Boyapati Srinu, Akhanda 2 has already been declared a box-office hit. The film features Aadhi Pinisetty, Kabir Duhan Singh, Harshaali Malhotra, and Saswata Chatterjee in key roles. The project is produced by Raam Achanta and Gopi Achanta.

Happy Birthday AR Rahman: Celebrating the Timeless Genius of the Mozart of Madras

Share

Today, we celebrate the musical visionary who transformed the soundscape of Indian cinema and carried it to a truly global stage. From his revolutionary debut with Roja in 1992 to winning Academy Awards for Slumdog Millionaire, Rahman didn’t just compose music — he redefined how stories are heard and felt on screen.

The melodies of Roja arrived like a breath of fresh air — emotional, modern, and somehow larger than the film itself. Time and again, Rahman’s background scores spoke louder than dialogues, whether it was the haunting intensity of Bombay or the epic emotional sweep of Lagaan. His music has always had the power to move hearts without uttering a single word.

Fondly hailed as the Mozart of Madras, Rahman fused Indian classical roots with electronic soundscapes, world music, and fearless innovation to create a signature style that is unmistakably his own. Nearly 33 years since his debut, he continues to command immense admiration across generations and continents.

Over the past decade, Rahman has remained relentlessly experimental, even as musical trends evolved around him. Some albums leaned more towards technology and sonic exploration, and not every composition recreated the emotional highs of his early masterpieces — but that is the price of constantly pushing creative boundaries. True to his philosophy, he has continued blending live musicianship with modern tools, and when it all clicks, the result is nothing short of breathtaking.

Even in recent years, Rahman has delivered songs that reaffirm his timeless genius. “Agar Tum Saath Ho” from Tamasha, rendered beautifully by Arijit Singh and Alka Yagnik, remains one of the most soul-stirring heartbreak anthems ever composed. His Marvel Anthem for Avengers: Endgame (Hindi version) showcased his ability to merge epic scale with contemporary energy. “Rihaayi De” from the Mimi promo felt raw, hopeful, and deeply moving, while “Moopilla Thamizhe Thaaye” resonated with cultural pride and emotional depth.

Most recently, Rahman delivered another chartbuster with “Chikiri Chikiri” for the Telugu film Peddi, once again proving that his music continues to evolve while leaving a lasting impact.

A.R. Rahman has inspired generations, shaped careers, and given Indian cinema a global musical identity. On his birthday, we don’t just celebrate the man — we celebrate the magic he continues to create with sound. 🎶✨

Poonam Kaur Breaks Silence on Rahul Gandhi Link and Harassment Allegations

Share

Actress Poonam Kaur has, for the first time, openly addressed long-standing rumours linking her to Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, firmly denying any personal relationship. Clarifying the issue, Poonam stated that she met Rahul Gandhi solely in connection with her handloom business and had only briefly walked alongside him at a public event. She alleged that certain sections of the media misrepresented the interaction, irresponsibly fuelling rumours of an affair and even marriage.

In an interview with a YouTube channel, Poonam revealed that the gossip soon escalated to absurd and disturbing levels. She claimed reports falsely suggested that she had secret children and had undergone abortions. Dismissing these allegations with sarcasm, she called them completely baseless, defamatory, and shocking.

Poonam shared that although she originally hails from Punjab, she built most of her acting career in Telugu cinema and continues to live in Hyderabad, even as film offers slowed down over the years. She said her name has repeatedly been dragged into political controversies and alleged that certain political groups deliberately linked her to an actor-turned-politician to serve their own agendas.

The actress also made disturbing harassment allegations, claiming that individuals from Kadapa once pressured her to hold a press meet and speak against a particular actor. She alleged that they initially tried to bribe her with money, later offering political positions, and when she refused both, she was allegedly threatened with the release of nude photos and videos. Poonam stated that she never approached the police and chose to share the trauma only with her family, suffering silently for years.

Speaking further, Poonam said a press conference held by Posani Krishna Murali deeply affected her life. According to her, the statements made during that event destroyed her personal life. At the time, she was planning to get married, but the relationship reportedly fell apart following the controversy. She added that the emotional stress severely impacted her family, revealing that her mother suffered a heart attack, and said her life changed permanently after that episode.

Poonam admitted that the continuous controversies eventually overshadowed her film career. She confirmed that she had filed a complaint against director Trivikram Srinivas with the Movie Artists Association, alleging that he ruined her life. However, she claimed the complaint was not accepted. Since then, she has frequently expressed her frustration on social media, often tagging Trivikram Srinivas and targeting him with strong remarks.

Meenakshi Chaudhary Shuts Down Marriage Rumours, Focuses on Career

Share

Actress Meenakshi Chaudhary has finally broken her silence on the ongoing marriage rumours during a recent promotional interview for her upcoming film Anaganaga Oka Raju. Despite repeated clarifications from her team earlier, speculation about her personal life has continued to circulate, prompting the actress to address the issue directly.

Reacting to the rumours, Meenakshi expressed her tiredness and mild frustration over the constant gossip. Clearly setting the record straight, she stated, “I have grown tired of hearing such rumours. There is no truth in them. I am not getting married right now.”

The Sankranthiki Vasthunam fame actress further stressed that her current priority is her career, not personal speculation. She revealed that she is focused on choosing strong stories and meaningful characters, and remains open to experimenting with roles as long as the script excites her. Addressing another round of speculation, the Guntur Kaaram heroine clarified that she has not ruled out playing mother roles following Lucky Baskhar, contrary to what has been reported.

Meenakshi will next be seen in Anaganaga Oka Raju, with Naveen Polishetty in the lead role. The film is slated for a theatrical release on January 14, and expectations are high around its festive arrival.

CBI Summons Thalapathy Vijay in Karur Stampede Case Ahead of Jana Nayagan Release

Share

The tragic Karur stampede, which occurred in September last year during actor-turned-politician Thalapathy Vijay’s maiden political rally, continues to cast a long shadow over his political journey. The unfortunate incident resulted in the death of 41 supporters, sending shockwaves across Tamil Nadu and the country.

According to the latest reports, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has now summoned Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) party chief Vijay for questioning in connection with the case. The move comes amid allegations that security norms and safety guidelines were allegedly flouted while organising the massive public rally, leading to the deadly stampede.

As per the notice issued by the CBI, Vijay has been directed to appear for questioning at the agency’s New Delhi headquarters on January 12th. Notably, this development comes at a crucial time for the star, as he is awaiting the release of his farewell film Jana Nayagan, which is scheduled to hit theatres on January 9th.

Earlier, on October 13th last year, the Supreme Court, while hearing a plea filed by the TVK party, ordered a CBI probe into the tragedy to ensure a fair and impartial investigation. The apex court also constituted a three-member committee, headed by former Supreme Court judge Justice Ajay Rastogi, to monitor and review the progress of the inquiry.

So far, the CBI has questioned several TVK party officials in connection with the case. With Vijay now receiving the summons, the investigation is expected to enter a crucial and serious phase in the coming days.

Anand L Rai–Dhanush Team Up Again for Period Action Romance?

Share

Filmmaker Anand L Rai, renowned for crafting emotionally rich love stories that resonate deeply with audiences, is reportedly gearing up to explore a new genre. After winning acclaim for his heartfelt romances, the director is now said to be venturing into a period action romance, marking a significant shift in his filmmaking journey.

According to strong industry buzz, following the success of Tere Ishq Mein, Anand L Rai is planning to helm this ambitious project. Adding to the excitement, Dhanush is rumored to be the frontrunner for the lead role. If true, this would mark yet another collaboration between the celebrated actor-director duo.

Anand L Rai and Dhanush have previously teamed up on three films. While Raanjhanaa and Tere Ishq Mein emerged as major successes and earned cult status, their third collaboration Atrangi Re failed to recreate the same level of commercial impact. Despite that setback, the creative chemistry between the two remains highly regarded within the industry.

As of now, there has been no official confirmation regarding the project. Meanwhile, Dhanush’s 54th film, tentatively titled D54, has recently wrapped up shooting and is expected to hit screens in February or March 2026.

For the moment, audiences and industry watchers will have to wait a little longer for an official announcement to see whether Dhanush will indeed headline this period action romance under Anand L Rai’s direction.

Sankranthi Box Office Clash: Can the Underdogs Spring a Surprise?

Share

This Sankranthi, the Tollywood box office is gearing up for one of the most fiercely competitive festival seasons in recent years. As many as five Telugu films are set to hit the screens simultaneously, creating massive buzz and anticipation among audiences. With multiple genres and star-driven projects arriving together, the big question remains — which film will ultimately emerge as the festival winner?

Currently, the spotlight is firmly on the big-budget spectacles Raja Saab and Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu. These two films dominate pre-release discussions, thanks to their scale and the presence of superstars Prabhas and Chiranjeevi. Given their star power and wide release plans, strong openings at the box office are almost guaranteed.

Joining the Sankranthi race are Ravi Teja’s Bharta Mahashayulaku Wignyapthi, Naveen Polishetty’s Anaganaga Oka Raju, and Sharwanand’s Naari Naari Naduma Murari. Among these, Ravi Teja’s film is positioned as a mid-range commercial entertainer, banking on the Mass Maharaja’s festival appeal.

While Anaganaga Oka Raju and Naari Naari Naduma Murari may appear smaller in terms of budget and scale, they are shaping up as ideal festive entertainers and should not be underestimated. Both films strongly target family audiences and rely heavily on entertainment value rather than star-driven spectacle.

Anaganaga Oka Raju stands out with its fun-driven narrative. Known for his sharp comic timing and deep involvement in the writing process, Naveen Polishetty has ensured that the film maintains a lively and engaging tone. The promos clearly highlight the humor quotient, and if the content clicks, the film could deliver surprising box office numbers.

Similarly, Naari Naari Naduma Murari looks promising despite the mixed reception to Sharwanand’s recent outings. The film appears to be a clean comedy entertainer, with the teaser showcasing ample humor. Notably, it comes from the director of the successful full-length comedy Samajavaragamana, which adds to the expectations. Releasing the film amid such stiff competition also reflects the producer’s strong confidence in the content.

With intense competition across screens, these two films could well emerge as dark horses this Sankranthi. If word of mouth turns positive, the so-called underdogs may end up giving serious competition to the bigger releases, making this festival season truly unpredictable and exciting.

Ravi Teja’s Bhartha Mahasayulaku Wignyapthi Songs Create Massive Buzz Ahead of Sankranthi Release

Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja is riding high on confidence as he gears up for his next big-ticket entertainer Bhartha Mahasayulaku Wignyapthi, slated for a grand Sankranthi release on January 13th. Directed by Kishore Tirumala and produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri, the film is shaping up to be a complete festive package. Elevating the excitement further is the chart-topping music composed by Bheems Ceciroleo.

The film’s musical journey kicked off on a powerful note with the massy and dynamic track “Bella Bella”, featuring Ravi Teja alongside Ashika Ranganath. Shot across breathtaking foreign locales, the song’s electrifying beats, stylish choreography, and vibrant visuals made it an instant chartbuster.

This was followed by the second single “Addham Mundu”, a soothing romantic melody picturized on Ravi Teja and Dimple Hayathi. With its soulful composition, pleasant vocals, heartfelt lyrics, and visually appealing presentation, the song struck an emotional chord with audiences and quickly became addictive.

Taking the musical buzz to the next level, the third single “Vaammo Vaayyo” emerged as a quintessential Bheems Ceciroleo Telangana folk number, loaded with raw mass appeal. The husky vocals, power-packed lyrics, and energetic composition are perfectly complemented by sizzling visuals. The song highlights the rocking on-screen chemistry between Ravi Teja, Dimple Hayathi, and Ashika Ranganath, making it one of the biggest chartbusters in recent times.

Adding to the excitement, the film also includes a special surprise song, which will be unveiled exclusively on the big screen, promising audiences a truly unique and theatrical experience.

Qualcomm–Google Deepen Partnership to Power AI-Driven Software-Defined Vehicles

Share

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. and Google have announced a major expansion of their decade-long collaboration, aimed at accelerating the global transition to software-defined vehicles (SDVs) and agentic AI-powered automotive experiences. The enhanced partnership integrates Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Digital Chassis with Google’s automotive software stack to deliver secure, scalable, and intelligent vehicle solutions at scale.

Building on the Gemini Enterprise for automotive initiative unveiled in 2025, the companies showcased new AI-driven capabilities at CES 2026. These solutions combine on-device and cloud-based AI models to enable real-time personalisation, advanced voice assistants, and proactive, multimodal user experiences for drivers.

A key highlight of the collaboration is the creation of a unified reference platform aligning Snapdragon Cockpit Platforms with Android Automotive OS (AAOS), starting with Android 17. This approach significantly reduces development cycles and enables automakers to bring next-generation infotainment and cockpit systems to market faster.

Qualcomm will also lead the scaling of AAOS for SDVs through pre-integrated software on Snapdragon platforms, supporting safety-critical vehicle domains, over-the-air updates, and AI-powered fleet insights. Additionally, the introduction of Snapdragon vSoC on Google Cloud allows automakers to design and validate vehicle software entirely in the cloud.

To ensure long-term support, Qualcomm is introducing Project Treble for automotive platforms, backed by a 10-year software update roadmap, ensuring vehicles remain secure, connected, and future-ready throughout their lifecycle.
