Kalamkaval Steady, Dhurandhar Soars; Revolver Rita Fails at Box Office

Mammootty’s Kalamkaval continues its steady global run, inching closer to a clear success. Strong word of mouth and stable overseas traction have kept the film performing well through the weekdays, adding another reliable hit to the veteran superstar’s career.
On the other hand, Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar is shattering early box-office predictions. The film has stormed past nearly ₹200 crore gross worldwide in just four days, driven by packed theatres, strong mass appeal, and a holiday-season surge.
Surprisingly, Dhanush and Kriti Sanon’s Tere Ishk Mein is holding firm despite the Dhurandhar dominance. Its consistent collections across Indian territories and international markets highlight the film’s emotional depth and favourable audience response.
In sharp contrast, Andhra King Taluka has crashed at the box office, failing to attract audiences. Keerthy Suresh’s Revolver Rita, once seen as a promising venture, has also turned into a major box-office disappointment. The film has been unable to recover from weak openings and continues to lose screens to stronger new releases dominating the current lineup.
Mowgli 2025 Release Shifted to December 13

Roshan Kanakala’s love-and-action drama Mowgli 2025, which was earlier scheduled to release on December 12th, has now been delayed by a day. The film will officially hit theatres on December 13th, while the makers are still planning premiere shows on the evening of the 12th.
Despite the massive buzz surrounding NBK’s Akhanda 2, the Mowgli 2025 team remains confident. They are proceeding without any major postponement, believing that the early premieres will create strong word-of-mouth and boost the film’s openings.
The newly unveiled release-date poster showcases lead actors Roshan Kanakala, Sakkshi Mhadolkar, and Bandi Saroj Kumar in striking moods, each expressing a different emotional shade. The film has already gained notable attention through its teaser, two singles, and the recently launched trailer.
Directed by Sandeep Raj, Mowgli 2025 presents a contemporary retelling of the Ramayana, with the lead characters drawing inspiration from Rama and Sita. Roshan Kanakala’s makeover into the titular Mowgli has been a talking point in the promotional content, while Sakkshi Mhadolkar will be seen in a challenging, sensitively portrayed role as a deaf and mute character.
Karthi’s Vaa Vaathiyaar Set for Grand December Release

Tamil star Karthi’s 27th film Vaa Vaathiyaar, directed by Nalan Kumarasamy and produced by KE Gnanavelraja under Studio Green, is gearing up for a grand December release. The film will hit Telugu screens as Annagaru Vostaru.
Krithi Shetty plays the female lead, joined by a strong ensemble cast including Shilpa Manjunath, Rajkiran, Anand Raj, Sathyaraj, Karunakaran, GM Sundar, Ramesh Thilak, PL Thenappan, Vidhya Borgia, Nivas Adthitan, and Madhur Mittal.
As release day approaches, promotions have intensified, with the team hosting a grand pre-release event in Hyderabad. The event saw the presence of Sundeep Kishan, Bunny Vas, and directors Deva Katta, Shiva Nirvana, Vivek Athreya, Bobby, Venky Kudumula, and Rahul Ravindran.
Speaking at the event, Karthi revealed the vision behind the film, stating that it explores the deep admiration audiences have for their heroes—an admiration that sometimes grows into devotion. He shared that director Nalan crafted the film as a tribute to the mass commercial cinema of the 70s and 80s, a genre that naturally demanded a larger-than-life hero. Comparing the film’s essence to the cultural impact of icons like NTR and MGR, Karthi said the story imagines how such towering personalities would be perceived in today’s world.
Karthi praised Nalan Kumarasamy’s return after eight years, noting that many Telugu filmmakers admire his storytelling. He described the fictional world built for the film as vast and challenging, pushing him creatively and helping him grow as an actor. Confident about the freshness of the concept and his performance, Karthi said films of this scale are rare and reaffirmed his commitment to delivering innovative cinema.
Releasing on December 12, 2025, Vaa Vaathiyaar / Annagaru Vostaru marks Nalan Kumarasamy’s comeback after four years. Marketed as an action-packed entertainer, the film promises a gripping experience backed by Santhosh Narayanan’s powerful music and Karthi’s commanding screen presence.

Kriti Sanon Sparks Controversy with Height Comment About Tollywood Heroes
Some Bollywood heroines seem to develop a bold attitude once they establish themselves in the industry, often speaking their minds without filtering their remarks. In the past, actresses like Radhika Apte and Taapsee faced backlash for controversial comments about Tollywood. Now, Kriti Sanon appears to be in the spotlight for similar reasons.
Kriti recently commented that, except for Prabhas and Arjun Kapoor, most of the heroes she has worked with are shorter than her. This remark has sparked anger among Mahesh Babu’s fans. Mahesh Babu, in fact, is taller than Kriti and also gave her her first significant break in Tollywood—something many feel she overlooked in her statement.
Following her debut with Mahesh Babu, Kriti acted in one more Telugu film before focusing entirely on Bollywood, where she has delivered several hits and established herself as a top actress. Her latest release has also garnered positive reviews.
In a recent interview, Kriti spoke about her height, revealing that some co-stars used hidden heels during shoots while she often opted for flat footwear. She mentioned that only when working with Prabhas and Arjun Kapoor did she never have to worry about height differences.
