ప్రముఖ నటుడు, సినీ క్రిటిక్ కత్తి మహేశ్ చెన్నైలోని అపోలో ఆసుపత్రిలో చికిత్స పొందుతూ శనివారం మృతి చెందారు. జూన్ 26న నెల్లూరు జిల్లాల్లో జరిగిన రోడ్డు ప్రమాదంలో ఆయన తీవ్ర గాయాలపాలైన సంగతి తెలిసిందే. ప్రమాదంలో ఆయన తల, కంటికి తీవ్ర గాయాలయ్యాయి. శస్త్రచికిత్స తర్వాత ఆయన కోలుకుంటున్నారని భావిస్తున్న సమయంలో ఆరోగ్యం విషమించడంతో శనివారం మృతి చెందారు. దీంతో ఆయన అభిమానులు, బంధువులు కన్నీరు మున్నీరవుతున్నారు.
కత్తి మహేశ్ చిత్తూరు జిల్లాలో జన్మించారు. ప్రాధమిక విద్య అక్కడే అభ్యసించి.. ఉన్నత విద్య హైదరాబాద్ లో పూర్తి చేశారు. దర్శకుడు కావాలనే లక్ష్యంతో సినిమాల్లోకి ప్రవేశించారు. పెసరట్టు అనే సినిమాకు దర్శకత్వం కూడా చేశారు. అనంతరం.. హృదయకాలేయం, నేనే రాజు నేనే మంత్రి, క్రాక్.. తదితర చిత్రాల్లో నటించారు. ఆయన సినీ విశ్లేషకుడిగా మంచి పాపులారిటీ సంపాదించారు. బిగ్ బాస్ 1 సీజన్ లో పాల్గొన్నారు. ఆయన మృతి పట్ల సినీ పరిశ్రమ విచారం వ్యక్తం చేసింది.
I will fight even God to protect State’s Krishna share: Telangana minister KT Rama Rao
NARAYANPET: In the backdrop of the ongoing feud between the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh governments over their share in the Krishna river, IT and Industries minister KT Rama Rao, on Saturday, said that he would go to any lengths to protect the interests of Telangana.
The Minister said that he was ready to fight not only the AP government, but also God, if that’s what it took to secure Telangana’s share in the Krishna. He added that the responsibility of providing ample irrigation water to the Palamuru region was on the Telangana government.
Rama Rao made these remarks during his public address at Narayanpet on the final day of the Pattana Pragathi programme. He pointed out that around 1.8 lakh acres land in the district would get irrigated once the construction of Karvena reservoir under the Palamuru Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme (PRLIS) was completed.
He urged the people of Narayanpet to actively participate in the public hearing on the PRLIS, scheduled to be held on August 10. The Minister assured that the State government would sanction a Telangana Special Food Processing Zone for Narayanpet district, once 250 acres were identified for the same.
Rama Rao laid the foundation stone for the construction of an integrated handloom training-cum-production centre and inaugurated a children’s ward at Narayanpet Government Hospital.
Pawan Kalyan fires on Jagan govt over ‘Telugu Academy’ controversy
JanaSena supremo Pawan Kalyan has turned active in politics now. He recently criticized the chief minister YS Jagan for releasing a worthless job calendar that doesn’t serve the needs of unemployed youth in the state.
Now, Pawan has fired on the Jagan-led Andhra Pradesh government over the ‘Telugu Akademi’ controversy. This came after the government of Andhra Pradesh changed the name of Telugu Akademi to Telugu-Sanskrit Academy.
”Telugu Academy is a renowned and trusted organization. What is the need to change its name now? What purpose does a name change serve? The books released by the Academy help Telugu-medium students attend competitive exams. If anything, the government should strengthen the academy instead of changing its name,” Pawan stated.
The Janasena chief demanded the state government to release a statement on why it hurriedly changed the name of Telugu Academy for no legitimate reason.

Harish Rao: No place for Jagan and Sharmila in hearts of Telangana people
TRS firebrand leader and Telangana finance minister Harish Rao said the children of YS Rajasekhar Reddy – YS Jagan and YS Sharmila don’t have a place in the hearts of Telangana people.
“Rajasekhar Reddy used to firmly oppose the Telangana movement and often belittle the efforts of Telangana natives who fought for statehood. Why will his kids have a place in the hearts of Telangana people? They won’t,” he said.
Harish Rao went on to say that Sharmila claims she is close to Telangana people, but in reality, she is the daughter of a politician who was against the formation of Telangana state.
“YSR used to say he will see to it that Telangana state is not formed as long he is alive. Now, his daughter Sharmila is launching a party and asking Telangana people for votes. Does it make any sense? In fact, Rajasekhar Reddy is the reason why Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are fighting over Krishna water,” he said.
We should wait and see how Sharmila will react to these hard hitting comments from Harish Rao.
Bold actress Namitha makes interesting comments on TTD
Bold South Indian actress Namitha made a series of highly intriguing comments on Tirumala Tirupati Devastanam(TTD) after visiting Tirumala temple on Saturday.
After her darshan, Namitha said the current TTD board looks clueless and its mismanagement is troubling piligrims. She complained about the darshan protocol that is being followed by the current TTD board.
“The current TTD board is mishandling the darshan protocol. I myself did not have a good darshan. All the TDP employees look scared of the board and that is not how you run an organisation,” she said.
Namitha went on to say that the previous TTD board was super effective and it used to think about the pilgrims but that is not the case with the current board.
Namitha’s sudden outburst on the new TTD board has come out of the blue. But she seems to be having her reasons to speak against the current board.

Telangana will not compromise on Krishna River Water sharing: KTR
Telangana IT Minister KTR, who also holds Municipal Administration & Urban Development, Industries & Commerce portfolios, has toured Narayanpet district in the state and addressed a meeting on Saturday.While addressing the meeting, KTR spoke about the Krishna river water sharing disputes with neighboring state Andhra Pradesh and said, Telangana will not compromise on drawing waters that belong to the state.
“We will not compromise on the water sharing row. We will get our share of water that belongs to Telangana as per the law. We will fight for the water and the interests of the state,” KTR said at the public meeting.
He targeted the BJP in his speech and asked, why the welfare schemes like Kalyana Lakshmi, Rythu Bima, Rythu Bandhu which are being implemented in Telangana are not implemented in neighboring Karnataka ruled by the BJP.
Talking about the development in the Palamoor area, TRS Working Minister KTR said earlier Palamoor used to get drinking water once in every 14 days. But now, drinking water is supplied once every two days. The government is also purchasing crops from the farmers, KTR said.
The Minister assured that the Food Processing Industry will be set up in Narayanpet. The TRS government has changed the 3,400 tandas into Village Panchayats. 2,100 electric poles and 19 transformers were set up in Narayan pet alone, he maintained.
During his visit, KTR launched the ICU ward at the children’s hospital in the district. He also unveiled Children’s, Science Park. Later, he laid the foundation for an integrated market, Martyrs Memorial Park.
Suresh Babu Defends His Decision Of Selling ‘Narappa’ To OTT!
Despite the Telangana government allowing the theatres to reopen with full occupancy, the producers are not releasing their movies yet. The film chamber and producers guild have submitted a few requests to the government regarding the hike in ticket prices and minimum compensation for the losses incurred to them due to the lockdown.
Also, the exhibitors and distributors requested the producers to wait till October before selling their films to online streaming services. While the talks regarding this are still going on, top producer Suresh Babu sold his upcoming release ‘Narappa’ to a well-known OTT platform. The deal was done even before the request of exhibitors and the official confirmation is expected to come out soon.
While there are mixed reactions regarding this, Suresh Babu defended his decision. While speaking to Times of India, he claimed, “There is no right and wrong in this business. Exhibitors have been facing losses for a period of time and they want films to release in theatres. The producers are facing burdens of their own. So decisions like these are made independently and it must be left to the stakeholders involved. These are uncertain times and the situation is constantly evolving. Hopefully, things will improve soon.”
‘Narappa’ is a remake of the Tamil super hit film ‘Asuran’. Dhanush got a national award for his performance in this rustic rural drama and the audience are eager to see how Venkatesh is going to portray it. Priyamani is playing the role of his wife in this film while the posters and glimpse which came out till date got an amazing response. Kalipuli S Thanu along with Suresh Babu has produced this film while it is acclaimed Tamil director Vetri Maaran’s story. Senior composer Mani Sharma is scoring music for this film and Sreekanth Addala who is known for his classic family entertainers like ‘Kotha Bangaru Lokam’, ‘Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu’ and ‘Brahmotsavam’ is handling such a raw subject for the first time in his career.
Other than this, Venkatesh also completed working on the remake of Malayalam super hit film ‘Drushyam 2’. He is currently working on ‘F3’ under Anil Ravipudi’s direction.
