Thalapathy Vijay-Vamshi Paidipally project announcement on the way
Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay’s maiden Telugu film will be directed by Vamshi Paidipally and it is scheduled to hit the floors after Vijay wraps up his current commitments.
If reports are to go by, Vijay-Vamshi Paidipally project is set to be announced in a week or so from now.
It is being said that the much-anticipated project will be officially announced by the producer, Dil Raju next week.
Dil Raju has agreed to pay around Rs 100 crores remuneration to Vijay and had already handed over a token advance of Rs 10 crores to the star actor. He is eager to set the project rolling.
Vijay will resume shooting for Thalapathy65 which is being helmed by Nelson and he will take the final call on when to commence shooting for the Vamshi Paidipally directorial.
WhatsApp to Enable Multi-Device Support With End-to-End Encryption: Report
WhatsApp will make its multi-device support available with end-to-end encryption, according to a report. The Facebook-owned instant messaging app has marketed its privacy-focussed encryption for some time. It is claimed to protect text and voice messages, photos, videos, documents, and calls in a way that they aren’t accessible by anyone — except the sender and receiver. However, enabling the same level of protection on multiple devices alongside syncing communication between them is not that easy and involves technical challenges in its implementation.
Although WhatsApp is yet to provide official details, WhatsApp beta tracker WABetaInfo has reported that the end-to-end encryption available on WhatsApp will be compatible with its upcoming multi-device support.
Earlier this month, Mark Zuckerberg mentioned in an alleged conversation with WABetaInfo that chats when using multi-device support on WhatsApp will still be end-to-end encrypted. Screenshots shared by WABetaInfo showed that the Facebook CEO stated that the company solved the challenges involved in implementing end-to-end encryption in an “elegant way” to make sure that the chats between users are protected even when using the messaging app on multiple devices.
Facebook acquires ‘Population: One’ maker, BigBox VR
Washington: American technology company Facebook recently acquired yet another developer of a popular virtual reality game, announcing on Friday that BigBox VR, makers of the battle royale VR title ‘Population: One’, will be joining Oculus Studios.
According to The Verge, Mike Verdu, the VP of content at Facebook Reality Labs, wrote in a blog post, “POP: ONE stormed onto the VR scene just nine months ago and has consistently ranked as one the top-performing titles on the Oculus platform, bringing together up to 24 people at a time to connect, play, and compete in a virtual world.”
He further added, “And while social is bringing players into POP: ONE, the quirky humor, continual updates, and pure fun of the environment keeps them coming back time and time again — we’ve even seen players scheduling time to meet in-game for a synchronous social experience.”
‘Population: One’ has been a hit, earning more than USD 10 million on the Oculus Store “after just a few months,” Verdu said in a February blog post. The game, which is available on both the Oculus Store and on Steam, will “continue to be supported on all its current platforms,” according to Verdu. And the game will continue to receive regular updates, BigBox VR says on its website.
But it’s not clear just yet what bigger changes might be in the works because of the acquisition. “BigBox VR has big plans for the future of POP: ONE and for other projects, but we’re not ready to share details at this time,” Verdu said, vaguely.
As per The Verge, BigBox VR will be joining a slew of other VR studios that Facebook has snapped up over the past couple of years.

Telangana minister KT Rama Rao comes to rescue of COVID-19 victim’s kids
JAGTIAL/KHAMMAM: MAUD minister KT Rama Rao came to the rescue of three children whose father died of COVID-19 recently at Ogulapur in Malyala mandal, on Monday. The deceased person has been identified as Bushi Sattaiah (44), who worked in one of the Gulf countries. According to sources, the Minister came to know about the plight of the children through Twitter.
Responding to a tweet by one of their neighbours, Rama Rao said that the government will take care of the children and directed the Jagtial Collector to take necessary steps to this regard. Immediately after Rama Rao’s response, Choppadandi MLA Sunke Ravi Shankar visited the house of the children and gave them Rs 1 lakh as financial assistance. Soon after getting the assurance, the children thanked the MAUD Minister.
Minister meets Khammam Mayor, Deputy Mayor
In another development, Minister Rama Rao directed the newly elected Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Khammam to work hard and ensure the development of the city. Mayor P Neeraja and Deputy Mayor Fathima Johara, along with Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar, called on Rama Rao in Hyderabad, on Monday.
REVIVAL OF NETANNAKU CHEYUTHA
HYDERABAD: Stating that the government is all set to revive “Netannaku Cheyutha”, the saving schemes for handloom workers, Textiles Minister KT Rama Rao on Monday said that around 34,000 weavers would benefit from the scheme.
During a review, he said: “All weavers can avail the scheme. While weavers contribute 8 per cent of their wages, the government would contribute double that amount.”

In Oman, fatal fungal infection detected in some COVID-19 patients
DUBAI: Oman announced on Tuesday that its doctors have detected a potentially fatal fungal infection afflicting some coronavirus patients, the first such known cases on the Arabian Peninsula as the sultanate faces a surge in COVID-19 infections that has swamped its hospitals.
The country’s Health Ministry reported that three COVID-19 patients in Oman have become infected with mucormycosis, a life-threatening condition commonly known as ‘black fungus,’ which has spread quickly among virus patients in hard-hit India.
Although relatively rare, the disease has raised alarm among authorities that its sudden increase could complicate efforts to combat COVID-19. It wasn’t immediately clear what condition the three patients were in.
Oman health officials warned earlier this week that the sultanate faces an acute shortage of beds amid the spread of highly transmissible virus variants, a lagging vaccine rollout and relaxed movement restrictions.
The fungal condition became a growing cause of concern during India’s devastating coronavirus surge. Other countries, including Egypt, have reported scattered cases in recent months as infections spiked.
Black fungus existed in India before the virus wave, but it stoked fears as it took hold in thousands of infected or recently recovered COVID-19 patients. Mucormycosis is caused by exposure to mucor mold, which is commonly found in soil, air and even in the nose and mucus of humans.
It spreads through the respiratory tract and erodes facial structures. Sometimes, doctors have to surgically remove the eye to stop the infection from reaching the brain.
The fungal infection preys on patients with weakened immune systems and underlying conditions, particularly diabetes, as well as overuse of certain over-the-counter coronavirus medication, like steroids.
Uncontrolled blood sugar can put immunocompromised people at a higher risk of contracting the disease.
Jaishankar, Sitharaman to headline UK’s India Global Forum
LONDON: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman were on Tuesday confirmed as the headline speakers at a global event that will lay out India’s vision for post-pandemic growth.
India Global Forum, organised from London as a hybrid event between June 29 and July 1, will bring together a range of worldwide experts, including World Health Organisation (WHO) Director-General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg and former CIA Director General David H.
Petraeus, to cover India’s role in vaccine and medicine manufacturing as well as cooperation in crucial areas of climate change and an equitable global economic recovery.
From India, other senior ministers set to address a host of sessions include Commerce & Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari and Women & Textiles Minister Smriti Irani.
“This year’s India Global Forum brings with it a sense of urgency and impatience about the radical actions needed now to shape a post-pandemic world,” said Manoj Ladwa, CEO of India Inc.Group, organisers of the forum.
“It’s where the big global issues of climate change, economic recovery and opportunity, digital transformation, and tackling new age imperialist and fundamentalist threats get debated,” he said.
In line with its “Future.Now.– Radical Actions for the Post Pandemic Era” theme, the sessions of the forum will cover Climate Action; Digital Future; Global Business; Economic Recovery; Health & HealthTech; Securing Supply Chains; and Global Leadership.
From views on how the post-pandemic build back of the global economy can be used to accelerate the transition to a better and safer world, to so-called “Covidonomics” of navigating huge new debts, unemployment and ongoing healthcare risk, the event is being pegged as the first chance for such a high-level worldwide forum as India gradually emerges from a devastating second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Lokesh calls HC verdict ultimate justice
The High Court yesterday dismissed the Andhra Pradesh government’s GO instating Sanchaita Gajapatiraju as the Maharaja Alak Narayana Society of Arts and Science (MANSAS) Chairperson and reinstated Ashok Gajapatiraju as the Chairperson of the MANSAS and Simhachalam trusts. TDP National General Secretary welcomed this ruling very warmly.
Lokesh said that the verdict is the ultimate form of victory and justice, and said that it served as a tight slap to the YSRCP government, which has been behaving in a very undemocratic manner ever since it came to power. Lokesh also said that the verdict brought a great deal of recognition to the Pusapati family which donated thousands of crores worth of assets for the welfare of the people.
Lokesh also said that this verdict has been possible due to the blessings of Simhacahlam Appanna. TDP Chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu also welcomed the news and called it a tight slap in the face of the Tughlaq CM, meaning Jagan. Members of the TDP believe that this verdict is going to be a major breather for the people of the state.
On the other hand, members of the YSRCP are saying that they would go to the Supreme Court and challenge the HC’s verdict.
Nithiin gives his nod to young technician
Nithiin is presently taking part in the final schedule of his forthcoming release, Maestro. He is set to collaborate with Vakkantham Vamsi for his next project and it will be officially announced in August.
The latest we hear is that Nithiin has given his nod to another young technician.
Apparently, Nithiin has agreed to work with SR Sekhar, a well-established editor for one of his upcoming projects.
Sekhar reportedly impressed Nithiin with his script and the latter plans to take the project onto the floors after wrapping up Vakkantham Vamsi’s film.
Nithiin has also lined up a couple of other prospective projects and more details about the same will be out in the due course.
