Bhatti’s cycle yatra crosses finish line
KHAMMAM: The six-day cycle yatra launched by CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka from Bhadrachalam to Khammam town concluded on Friday. Thousands of party workers took part in the rally, which was taken out in protest against the hike in gas, petrol and diesel prices. The cycle yatra was flagged off at Bhadrachalam on March 7, and covered 240 km of erstwhile Khammam district over the last six days.
During the course of the yatra, Bhatti Vikramarka interacted with residents of various towns and villages, and took down their grievances. He criticised the Centre and State government for their alleged failures in controlling fuel prices. The leader also campaigned for Congress MLC candidate Ramulu Naik.During Friday’s meeting, which marked the conclusion of the yatra, Bhatti Vikramarka requested the public to teach a fitting lesson to the TRS and BJP in the MLC polls.

F3 put on hold as Venkatesh turns busy
F3’s shoot has been paused momentarily as Venkatesh who plays a key role in the comedy caper turned busy with Dirshyam 2 remake.
Venkatesh will be shooting nonstop for Drishyam 2 remake at least till the end of April and the makers of F3 are left with no other option but to postpone shoot until then.
Also, Anil who never scored a flop till now is said to have taken the failure of Gaali Sampath personally. He penned the screenplay and dialogues for the film and he didn’t expect it to bomb at the box office.
Anil will also be taking some time off to rejuvenate himself. He has planned his schedule accordingly.
F3 unit will resume shoot only in May and the remaining portion will be shot at a brisk pace. The entire shoot will be wrapped up in quick schedules starting from May.
It is known that F3 is slated for release on 27thnof August this year. Varun Tej, Tamannaah, and Mehreen play other important roles in much-hyped sequel.

Veteran Indian industrialist Ratan Tata receives first dose of Covid-19 vaccine
Indian industrialist, philanthropist, former chairman of Tata Sons Ratan Tata received his first dose of the anti-Covid vaccine on Saturday as part of the undergoing second phase of the nationwide vaccination drive.
The Business Tycoon took to Microblogging site Twitter to share the news of receiving his vaccine dose. However, he did not share his pictures of receiving the vaccine.
“Very thankful to have gotten my first vaccination shot today. It was effortless and painless. I truly hope everyone can be immunised and protected soon,” Ratan Tata tweeted.
The nationwide second phase of the vaccination drive on the 16th of January. In the ongoing phase, people above 60 years of age and people above 45 years of age having comorbidities against coronavirus will be vaccinated.
Looking at the vaccination count across the nation, so far a total of 2,82,18,457 beneficiaries have been administered the vaccine, while 20,53,537 vaccinations were carried out in the past 24 hours alone.

As the Kapu community greatly factors in the votes, every political party is trying to appease this community, and this is the main reason why Pawan Kalyan contested from Gajuwaka in the 2019 elections.
While Jana Sena Chief Pawan Kalyan is trying his best to make sure that the steel plant is privatised, Ganta Srinivas Rao reportedly feels that it is not enough, which is why he is pressurizing Pawan to take a more active role in the agitation. Dethadi Harika episode exposes chinks in Tourism department
The infamous affair involving the appointment of youtuber ‘Dethadi’ Harika as the tourism ambassador has exposed the deep fissures and intense groupism in the tourism department. All is not well in this department with the officials playing favourites and driving a wedge between tourism minister Srinivas Goud and tourism corporation chairperson Srinivas Gupta.
For the past several months, there are bickering in the tourism department and the chairperson and the minister are not even on talking terms. Gupta has appointed Harika on his own and has even gone public about the announcement. Sources say that Harika and Gupta are from the same community and are also distantly related. This must have influenced his decision. However, this decision was taken without consulting anyone in the department and this has led to lot of heartburn among the officials.
Taking a serious view, Minister Srinivas Goud slammed the decision and said her appointment was not authorized by him. This has exposed the differences within the department. Though Harika has since announced that she has opted out of being a brand ambassador for the tourism department, the cinders are still flying and the war of words is still on.

China aims to vaccinate 70-80 per cent of population against Covid-19 by mid-2022
BEIJING: China is aiming to vaccinate 70-80 per cent of its population by the end of this year or mid-2022, the head of the country’s Center for Disease Control said Saturday.
With four approved vaccines, China will vaccinate 900 million to 1 billion people, Gao Fu, the CDC head, said in an interview with Chinese state media broadcaster CGTN.
“We hope that China can take the lead in achieving herd immunity in the world,” he said.
Herd immunity occurs when enough of the population has immunity, either from vaccination or past infection, to stop the uncontrolled spread of an infectious disease like COVID-19.
China had administered 52.5 million vaccine doses through the end of February.
It has been slower in its vaccination campaign than many other countries, including the US, government health experts have acknowledged.
China has committed roughly 10 times more doses abroad than it has distributed at home.
Although emergency vaccinations have been underway in China since at least last summer, the country has been slow to announce whether it had any plans to achieve herd immunity.
China has approved four domestically made vaccines: two from state-owned Sinopharm, one from Sinovac, and another from CanSino.
None of the four vaccines have publicly released their final stage trial data.
China currently has 17 COVID-19 vaccine candidates for clinical trials.
PM Modi, Solih, Rajapaksa among world leaders to attend 50th anniversary of Bangladesh independence
DHAKA: Several world leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and heads of state and government from Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan and the Maldives, are set to visit Bangladesh later this month to participate in the grand celebrations to mark the golden jubilee of the country’s independence from Pakistan.
The golden jubilee celebrations to be held from March 17-27 to mark the country’s independence from Pakistan after the 1971 Liberation War also coincides with the birth centenary of Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Prime Minister Modi and four heads of state and government from Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan and the Maldives will be among the distinguished foreign guests to join the celebrations under separate schedules, Bangladesh government’s principal information officer Surath Kumar Sarkar said.
Maldivian President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih will be the first top foreign dignitary to arrive on a three-day tour on March 17, followed by Sri Lanka’s Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa who will arrive on March 19 on a two-day tour.
Nepal President Bidya Devi Bhandari will be in Dhaka on a two-day tour from March 22 while Bhutanese premier Lotay Tshering will be in the country from March 24 to March 25.
Prime Minister Modi will arrive on March 26 on a two-day visit and will join the main Independence Day celebrations that also marks 50 years of Bangladesh-India diplomatic relations.
The foreign heads of state and government will join separately some identical programmes as part of the celebrations while Modi’s visit would be an extended one which would take him to three places outside Dhaka, Sarkar said.
The foreign dignitaries will also visit Bangabandhu Museum to mark the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation.
The museum was actually the private residence of the country’s founder where he was killed in a 1975 coup along with most of his family members while his elder daughter incumbent Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her younger sister Sheikh Rehana survived the carnage.
They were on a brief tour in Germany at the time of the putsch which also killed Bangladesh founder’s 10-year child Sheikh Russell.
According to the schedule, the world leaders would visit the national memorial on the outskirts of the capital to pay homage to the Independence martyrs of 1971 Liberation War, watch special military parades, join state banquets and visit the Bangabandhu Museum.
“But the Indian premier will also visit Bangabandhu shrine at (his village home) in Tungipara and two Hindu temples outside Dhaka,” Sarkar said.
The temples are places of worship of particularly the Matua community, a large part of them being residents of India’s West Bengal state.
Bangladesh had originally planned grand celebrations for the 50th years of Independence and Bangabandhu’s birth centenary but the coronavirus pandemic forced the country to revise the plan on health grounds.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, who visited Bangladesh early this month, had said that Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Dhaka will be a “very memorable” one, as he described India’s strategic ties with Bangladesh as a truly “360 degree partnership”.
Jaishankar who also held comprehensive discussions with his Bangladeshi counterpart A K Abdul Momen said Bangladesh was central to India’s ‘Neighbourhood First’ policy and increasingly relevant to the country’s ‘Act East Policy’.
On March 9, Hasina during an online event for the inauguration of the Maitri Setu bridge connecting Tripura with Bangladesh had recalled India’s role in Bangladesh’s Liberation War.
“Fifty years ago, in 1971, India opened up its border for Bangladesh’s people to support their freedom struggle. Today, we are building a prosperous region together,” she said.
The 1.9-km Maitri Setu has been built over the Feni river that flows between Indian boundary in Tripura and Bangladesh, and it connects Sabroom in India with Ramgarh in Bangladesh.
Modi said the bridge will give an impetus to the economic opportunity in Bangladesh besides the northeastern region and thanked Dhaka for the cooperation in the completion of the project.
Modi said the connectivity is not only strengthening the friendship between India and Bangladesh but also proving to be a strong link of business.

Former Tollywood heroine to play a grey shaded role in Nagarjuna’s Bangarraju
Tollywood king Nagarjuna has enthralled everyone as a host in the latest Telugu big boss 4 season. However, it is evident that many of his fans are also waiting for a super hit movie from him.‘Wild Dog’ is yet to be released and he has been associated with director Praveen Sattaru for an untitled project on the other hand too.
But Bangarraju’ is a film that has been in the news for about a long time. It is learnt that, it will be a sequel to the hit film ‘Soggade Chinni Nayana’, which was released for Sankranthi in the year 2016.
The most recent update from the credible sources on this film is circulating around the web. According to the news disclosed, former Tollywood star Bhumika Chawla will play a grey shaded role in ‘Bangarraju’ film.
Her character is expected to go along the lines of Ramyakrishna’s character in in Rajinikanth starrer ‘Narasimha’. She plays a girl who is quite desperate to get him. It is being speculated that Bhumika has agreed for this film too.
Recent buzz was that the project would go on the floors in June. It is to be noted that energetic star Ram Pothineni or Naga Shourya will also play a crucial role in this film. It is expected to be released for 2022 Sankranti.
