Watch: YSRC MP kisses martyr’s shoe to counter JC
Senior Telugu Desam Party leader and former Anantapur MP J C Diwakar Reddy’s unsavoury comments against the police forces a couple of days ago, stating that he would make the police lick his boots if the TDP came to power again evoked strong reactions from the police.
The Anantapur district police officers’ association threatened to file defamation case against Diwakar Reddy and prosecute him if he did not tender an unconditional apology to the police for making such derogatory remarks.
But the biggest counter to Diwakar Reddy came from YSR Congress party leader and Hindupur MP Gorantla Madhav on Friday.
At a press conference, Madhav cleaned the shoes of a police officer who laid down his life for the country and kissed the same, as a gesture to remember the sacrifices of the police.
“I kiss the boots of policemen who have sacrificed their lives in the process of saving the lives of the people and in protecting the nation’s sovereignty and integrity,” he said.
He also made it clear that if the party high command ordered him, he would even resign from his MP seat and re-join the police department to teach a fitting lesson to Diwakar Reddy.
It may be mentioned that Madhav, earlier working as a police inspector in Kadiri police station, had entered into a confrontation with Diwakar Reddy in September 2018.
He was reacting sharply to Diwakar Reddy’s comment that the police were acting like eunuchs, as they failed to control a group class in a village near Tadipatri in the district.
Madhav, who was then district police officers’ association president, threatened to slash the tongue of Reddy, who was then MP, if he disrespected the morale of the force.
He later resigned from the police department and joined the YSR Congress party. He contested the parliament elections from Hindupur and won the seat.
Diwakar Reddy, however, did not express regret making “boot-licking” comments against the police. He said he had made the comments against not all the police personnel, but only a few who were acting as stooges of the YSR Congress party.
“I made the comments out of anguish. I might have slipped my tongue, but one should understand the spirit of my comments. There is no need to react so strongly,” he said.
Pulihora Talk: Screentime Of Charan And NTR
Just for the reason that Ram Charan is being seen more at the airports and other events, some gossips are being cooked, saying that he has lesser screen time in #RRR than that of Jr NTR. One wonders why this pulihora talk is all about.
Actually Rajamouli is one of the finest and top directors in India, who probably knows how to handle a project featuring two big heroes of Tollywood. Definitely there is no way that he would make one hero a guest and the other one as the main lead. Also for the kind of storyline that #RRR has, surely it will have equal screentime for both.
That brings us to the next argument that Charan is more free than NTR. Well, both these heroes might be getting the same number of free days, but while Charan loves to travel and socialise, NTR is a bit private person who loves it indoors at home. So, Charan’s travels can’t be the basis of gossip about his screentime in #RRR.
Will Jagan return lands to farmers in Amaravati?
YSR Congress chief Jaganmohan Reddy had promised to return the lands to the farmers in the capital villages during his visit to them before the elections. During his election campaign too, he had renewed his promise.
Now, after his announcement in the Assembly in favour of having three capitals, it looks like the government is making fast moves to fulfil what Jaganmohan Reddy had made to the people on returning the lands.
The government had issued orders cancelling the plots allotted to the people for the assigned lands, those belonged to the SCs. That was a big blow to the investors who have purchased these assigned lands, before and after the capital announcement.
Minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy had hinted at giving back the lands to the owners if they wanted.
The government wants to keep those lands where some buildings were constructed, including the interim secretariat and assembly, the high court and the housing blocks and return the remaining lands.
The lands that lead to these buildings and other lands where roads were already formed will be retained, while the other lands are likely to be returned to the land owners.
However, it is not going to be easy for the government to return such lands as the boundaries were destroyed and the records were almost tampered with by the CRDA officials.
If Jaganmohan Reddy wants to continue the legislative capital here, he would require some lands to form connecting roads and link roads.
The lands in Penumaka, Undavalli and Tadepalli are yet to be given to the government. Without taking these lands, the government cannot form the roads to the legislative capital and it is to be seen how Jaganmohan Reddy would handle this.
Tamanna To Mahesh: Aaj Mera Ghar Me Party Hain
Milky siren Tamanna has acted with almost all the star heroes and some young heroes as well in Telugu film industry. And she’s willing to turn even an item girl for the same star heroes if she’s paid a bomb. That’s how she turned item girl for Mahesh in Sarileru Neekevvaru after acting as lead with him earlier in Aagadu.
Reports are coming out that Mahesh Babu’s Sarileru Neekevvaru actually has two item songs, with one shot in Rayalaseema backdrop and the other one shot in army backdrop in Kashmir. While one song, ‘Mind Blocku’ is already out in the market, we hear that this is not the song that features Tamanna as the item girl.
Apparently the lyric of Tamanna’s dance number for Mahesh goes like “Aaj Mera Ghar Me Party Hain- Tu Aaja Meri Raaja”. Recently this song was shot on Mahesh and Tamanna at Annapurna Studios under Sekhar master’s choreography. But then, we have to see which other actress will be actually part of Mind Blocku song, as that is not looking like Rashmika’s song.
Is Kesineni moving away from TDP?
Vijayawada MP Kesineni Srinivas has been indifferent with the party leadership ever since the party was defeated in the 2019 general elections.He won the election for the second consecutive term, while the party lost. More than the party’s defeat and his own victory, Kesineni is jubilant with the defeat of his arch rival, Devineni Umamaheswara Rao.
The humiliating defeat of the party and Devineni Uma, had given an upper hand to Kesineni in the party affairs.
He is teaching them a lesson or two now for the kind of humiliating treatment that both Chandrababu Naidu and Devineni Uma gave him in the last four years in the party.
His victory and the rival’s defeat had given him a chance to give them the return gifts to the leadership. He is not depending on Chandrababu Naidu anymore now.He is enjoying his victory by giving no interview to Chandrababu Naidu, who did not give him interview for two years in the past.
Kesineni defied the party’s decision to vote for the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2019 in the Parliament citing his consciousness. The party could not ask him for explanation leave alone taking disciplinary action for going against the party’s decision.
He did not meet the party chief in the week end after the Parliament session and did not offer to give his explanation for not supporting the government.As if this is not enough, he joined the Left parties’ sponsored protest in Vijayawada against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act 2019, the other day.
While Chandrababu Naidu and his TDP MPs are supporting the BJP government on the CAA, Kesineni is going against the decision and even taking part publicly in the protest rallies, thus throwing a challenge to the leadership.
The TDP chief who claims of discipline in the party turns a blind eye to Kesineni. The other leader, Devineni Uma, who was called Junior Chandrababu by the party leaders in the last five years, is not able to question Kesineni or even raise his finger at him.
The former minister, more interestingly, is not able to turn his eyes at the Kesineni Bhavan these days, giving the pleasure of victory to Kesineni.
Yellow media fanning capital flames!
It is more or less certain that the statement of YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on creation of three capitals for the state will become a reality sooner or later, if one were to go by the indications coming from his cabinet colleagues.
It is also true that the statement has created unrest among a section of farmers in Amaravati region who are more worried about their lands, rather than the capital itself.The people have given away their lands to the government hoping that the capital would come up at Amaravati and their land values would go up.
If the executive capital is shifted from Amaravati, there won’t be any development there and their land values would go down.If the Jagan government gives back their lands and assures them proper compensation, there is no reason why they will not agree for shifting of capital.
After all, they don’t have illusions about Singapore-like city, which was dreamt about by Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu.But the pro-TDP media has been trying their best to fan the flames of unrest among the Amaravati farmers so as to trouble the YSRC government.
For the second consecutive day, Eenadu and Andhra Jyothy carried banner stories about agitations by a section of farmers in the villages and the bandh enforced by them demanding that the capital city be retained at Amaravati.
Though it was a peaceful and spontaneous protests without causing much troubles to the people, both the dailies have given so much build-up that the agitation is as serious as the nation-wide protests against Citizenship Amendment Bill and National Register of Citizens.
Eenadu also carried a small report on the high court asking the state government about its stand on Amaravati. The court was acting on a public interest litigation petition filed by one of the farmers.Of course, Eenadu and Andhra Jyothy also carried the agitations against CAA and NRC in a big way, since it has taken a violent turn leading to firing by the police resulting in death of three agitators. It was a banner story in Andhra Jyothy and second lead story in Eenadu.
Sakshi has ignored both these developments, as it is pretty evident that the Jagan government is going ahead with the three capitals formula and so, there is no point in highlighting the counter-propaganda.
Instead, it focussed on Jagan’s representation to the 15th Finance Commission seeking liberal assistance from the Centre for various projects in the state, as part of fulfilling the assurances given to the state during bifurcation of combined state.
Andhra Jyothy also gave prominence to Jagan’s representation to the finance commission by carrying a second lead story.However, it also carried to two negative reports against the Jagan government – one on its attempt to grab the powers of the Governor in appointing and transferring vice-chancellors of the universities according to its will.
The second one is on how the government is going out of the way to help Swamy Swaroopanandendra to his Sarada Peetham by asking executive officers of five major temples to extend donations to the peetham for conducting religious programmes. This is obviously aimed at instigating the saffron party and other religious groups.
Bonanza to Australian cricket players in IPL auctions, impeachment of US president Donald Trump and Jagan’s appeal to the corporates to help the government’s Nadu-Nedu programme to improve the conditions in government schools are some other stories that figured on the front pages of the leading dailies.
Eenadu and Sakshi have got the half-page advertisement on the front page on the launch of YSR Nethanna Hastham for the benefit of handloom weavers. As usual, Andhra Jyothy did not get the same!
Releasing Today: A Festival Weekend For Movie Lovers
It has been a while since many noted films clashed at the box office in the same weekend. As many as four noted films are releasing today.Ruler and Prathi Roju Pandaage are straight releases and Dabangg 3 and Donga are dubbed films.
Balakrishna’s Ruler is a mass entertainer targeted at the B and C centers audience and Prathi Roju Pandage starring Sai Tej is a family entertainer directed by Maruthi. These films are expected to set the box office on fire.
Karthi is back as Donga after successful Khaidi. He has teamed up with his brother’s wife Jyothika in it.
Dabangg 3 is Salman Khan’s third offering from Dabangg fanchise. Salman is hoping that Chulbul Pandey strikes a chord with our audience.
Anil Ravipudi Exceeds Budget Limit
Director Anil Ravipudi has wrapped up the entire shooting part of “Sarileru Neekevvaru” in a flat five months’ time.Any big star movie takes a minimum of eight months to be completed. Some directors take even more than a year’s time.
But Anil Ravipudi is one of the few directors who can finish any movie under six months which saves huge production costs for the producer. More so if it is a star-studded film like “Sarileru Neekevvaru”.
Anil Ravipudi should be commended for this great planning and execution. However, the director, for the first time in his career, has crossed the budget limits.When the film was launched the producers thought of wrapping it in a limited budget so that they can reap in good profits since the entire Satellite-Digital-HindiDubbing rights went to Mahesh Babu.
Anil Ravipudi has extensively used massive sets for this movie that include Kurnool Buruju, a house set for Vijayashanti with a huge farm, several other sets for songs and sequences. These sets were the main reason for the excessive production cost.
As the film crossed the budget, now the producers are left with slender profits.
Rajini says violence not the route but silent on CAA
Chennai: Actor Rajinikanth said violence should not be the route to solve any problem at a time when protests against Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) are being held in different parts of the country.
In a tweet on Thursday late night, Rajinkanth said: “Violence should not be the route to solve any problem. Indian people should be united and alert with security and welfare of the nation in their minds.”
Rajinikanth said the ongoing violence in the country pains him.
However, Rajinikanth, who had said he would plunge into politics and contest in the 2021 assembly elections to be held in Tamil Nadu did not express his views on the CAA against which protests are being held across the country.
Reacting to Rajinikanth’s tweet, Seeman, the founder of NMK party in his tweet asked the former to spell out his views on CAA.
Pointing out Rajinikanth’s tweet, Seeman also added that it is insulting the students who are protesting against CAA braving suppression.
Hollywood Stunt masters for Nagarjuna’s Next
It has now become a common feature in Indian movies to have international stunt masters choreographing action episodes.While big-ticket movies like “Saaho” had spent crores of rupees on these stunts, even medium-budgeted films are not hesitating to rope in technicians from Hollywood.
Nagarjuna who has tasted the biggest flops in his career recently with RGV’s “Officer” and Rahul Ravindran’s “Manmadhudu 2” is now set to play a cop’s role.He has given his nod to new director Solomon’s movie which will have a lengthy episode about a big police operation.
For this, the production house Matinee Entertainments has brought in technicians from Hollywood to film authentically. They are now doing a workshop for the fighters on how to do authentic police operations.Nagarjuna will start shooting for the movie from next month. It will be released during the summer 2020 holidays.
Sankranthi 2020: Rs 250 Crore Betting is On
Sankranthi 2020 will witness the intense fight between Mahesh Babu and Allu Arjun at the box-office.
The trade is also gung-ho about these two biggies that have successfully generated huge buzz with their promotional material.
While Mahesh Babu movie’s teaser clicked with the online viewers, Allu Arjun’s movie received huge love from listeners for songs. Both these movies are now closing their theatrical distribution deals.Mahesh Babu’s “Sarileru Neekevvaru” has closed its entire theatrical business. The movie was sold in the range of Rs 110 crore. This is one of the biggest pre-release businesses.
On the other hand, Allu Arjun’s “Ala Vaikunthapuramlo” has not yet closed its theatrical deals. The team is expecting to wind up its business in the range of Rs 90+ crore.Punters are also betting high on these two movies though the Sankranthi season will see four movies competing with each other.
Rajinikanth’s “Darbar” is releasing on January 9 and it is yet to close the business deals even though Dil Raju has bagged the movie’s rights for the Nizam region. Its pre-release business would be in the range of Rs 25 Cr.
Then there is Kalyan Ram’s “Entha Manchi Vaadavura”. Since this is a family entertainer, there are some good expectations and the movie will hit the screens on January 15th. It has a high chance of closing the business in the range of Rs 15 to 20 Cr.
All in all, buyers will have to shell out Rs 250 crore on these four movies during the Sankranthi period.

Akash Puri’s latest flick Romantic produced by his father Puri Jagannadh in association with Charmme generated lots of interest when the film’s sizzling first look poster was released.
In the first look poster, Akash was seen wrapping up Ketika Sharma in his arms and the actress appeared topless.
Now, a new poster is unveiled to announce that, a romantic song Nuvvu Nenu E Kshanam from the film will be released on 21st of this month at 5 PM.
In the poster, it’s Ketika’s turn now. She hugs him from behind. The warmth of the affectionate hug is evident in the partially appeared faces.
The Anil Paduri directorial venture features Ramya Krishna playing Akash’s mom and hero Ram will be seen shaking his leg in a special number.
