What will Nani do, if NTR takes over TDP?
It is an open secret that YSR Congress party leader and Andhra Pradesh civil supplies minister Kodali Venkateshwar Rao alias Kodali Nani started off his political career with the Telugu Desam Party, influenced by senior N T Rama Rao.
Nani is also a good friend of Junior NTR and produced a couple of films with him. He is still so much attached emotionally to Jr NTR that he wishes the young actor takes over the Telugu Desam Party sooner or later.
The firebrand leader from Gudivada said several times that the TDP would survive only if Jr NTR takes over the party reins. In an interview to a television channel, Nani alleged that TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu had used Jr NTR in 2009 elections and later dumped him.
“It was because of Jr NTR that the fight between the Congress and Praja Rajyam Party has turned into the fight between the Congress and the TDP. He has the ability to convey the message straight into the people without beating the bush and has tremendous subject knowledge,” Nani said.
When asked which way he would go if Jr NTR takes over the TDP and pitches it against Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Gudivada MLA did not mince any words in saying that he would sail with Jagan Mohan Reddy till his last breath.
“No doubt, Jr NTR is my friend, but when it comes to politics, my political career is associated with Jagan. If required, I will quit politics, but will not desert Jagan,” Nani said.
However, Nani felt it is not so easy for Jr NTR to revive the TDP.
“The party is already in in stage-2 of its life. And if Chandrababu Naidu continues to be its chief, it will soon enter into the stage-3 and by 2024, it will be in stage-4. Under these circumstances, forget Jr NTR, even if senior NTR comes back, he cannot save the party,” Nani felt.
TDP plan to kick up religious row backfires!
The Telugu Desam Party’s latest strategy of taking political mileage by whipping up communal passions in Andhra Pradesh, there by pleasing the Bharatiya Janata Party leadership in Delhi, seems to have backfired.
The TDP leaders sought to make a big issue out of a latest instance of a fair price shop dealer publishing the picture of Jesus Christ on the back of ration card. A copy of the ration card went viral in the social media.
They alleged that Christianity was being blatantly propagated under the Jagan Mohan Reddy regime and even the departments are being misused to spread Christianity, thereby hurting the sentiments of the Hindus.
Director of Civil Supplies, Consumer Affairs, Food & Civil Supplies Department P Arun Babu clarified that the ration card belonged to a dealer from Vadlamuru in East Godvari district.
He said the ration cards were not printed by the department as a whole but by a single ration dealer on his own, for his own identification purpose. It is only for a particular village only, he clarified.
Apparently, the dealer had been using different images on ration cards while printing them.
For example, in 2016 the dealer had printed ration cards with Satya Saibaba on it. In 2017 and 2018, it was Lord Venkateshwara whose image adorned the ration card. And this year it was Jesus Christ.
The department asked the dealer to stop printing these ration cards, as it was causing embarrassment to the government.
Sambi Reddy died not for onions, kin clarify
The sudden death of 65-year old person Sambi Reddy, allegedly while standing in queue for onions, at Gudivada on Monday turned out be due to prolonged illness and not due to stress for standing in queue.
With the Telugu Desam Party leaders trying to politicise Sambi Reddy’s death and the pro-TDP media highlighting the issue in a big way, the YSR Congress government sought to put the records straight.
Along with a few television channels, the YSRC leaders met the family members of Sambi Reddy to know the actual fact.
The kin of the deceased, 65-year old Sambi Reddy, told media that some vested interests including a section of media are trying to eke out ‘political mileage out of our personal grief.’
‘The vested interests have tried their best to distort the facts and create a story that the person died while he was standing in a queue for buying onions at subsidised rates at Gudivada Rythu Bazar, in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh which is not a reality’, they said.
Recalling that the deceased Sambi Reddy earlier had a cardiac stroke ten years back after which he had taken VRS and has been running a small business ever since. He owns 15 acres of land and his two sons are software engineers and are well settled.
‘’There is no need for us to buy onions standing in queue and it has been a routine for Sambi Reddy to go to the temple in the morning and then visit the Rythu Bazar to see and buy fresh vegetables as and when available.
“The other day also, he followed the routine and had a cardiac stroke and was rushed to hospital. It has nothing to do with the onion shortage and long queues,’ they said.
They alleged that a section of media also had approached them and coaxed us to give a statement that he died while standing in queue for buying onions and they would get ex gratia from the government.
“We refused the proposal and sternly told the people not to politicise the issue of the death in our family and leave us in peace. But we were surprised to see in the media which reported that he died while standing in a queue for buying subsidised onions,” the brother-in-law of the deceased said.
Vamsi gets separate seat, TDP cries foul!
In an unusual gesture, Andhra Pradesh state assembly speaker Tammineni Sitaram on Tuesday acceded the request of Gannavaram legislator Vallabhaneni Vamsi Mohan to allot a separate seat to him in the House.
As per the rules, an MLA should sit in the seat allotted to him in the benches allocated to his party in the House. Since the TDP is in the opposition, Vamsi has to sit along with the other TDP legislators.
Though a member can sit wherever there is a vacancy, he has to come back to his original allotted seat if he wants to speak on any subject or take part in any voting.
But on Tuesday, Vamsi urged the Speaker to allot him a separate seat as he was suspended from the TDP on flimsy grounds. He said he was feeling inconvenient to sit amidst the TDP members.
Reacting to his request, the Speaker said he would allocate a separate seat to Vamsi as per the assembly rules. He asked Vamsi to seat anywhere between seat No. 152 to 154. What is more, Sitaram also allowed Vamsi to speak from the newly allotted separate seat.
This has angered the TDP members, who protested the allotment of separate seat to the TDP. Opposition leader N Chandrababu Naidu said Vamsi had defied the party line and should be disqualified and wondered how the MLA would be given a chance to speak in the question hour.
As a mark of protest, the TDP leaders staged a walk out and returned only after Vamsi spoke for a few minutes.
Vamsi explained that he was suspended from the TDP only for meeting chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on issues like release of water from Polavaram right canal and land distribution in Gannavaram etc.
“I was suspended on the recommendation of Pappu, who does not know the difference between birth anniversary and death anniversary. A blind bull and an old bull are making comments against me,” he alleged.
Jagan Returned From US To Defeat Naidu
The Andhra Pradesh Assembly had witnessed quite an interesting debate for a few minutes on Tuesday, the second day of the winter session.
It was about the education of Chandrababu Naidu’s son Nara Lokesh and Rajasekhar Reddy’s son Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Chandrababu Naidu, during the discussion on Rythu Bharosa, said that he had faced Rajasekhar Reddy in the past and it is no difficult for him to face Jaganmohan Reddy now.
“Once I told Rajasekhar Reddy that my son (Lokesh) is studying in the US while his son (Jaganmohan Reddy) had come back unable to study,” quipped Chandrababu Naidu.
This statement drew the attention of Ambati Rambabu who gave a fitting reply to Chandrababu Naidu.
“Yes sir, Jaganmohan Reddy had come back from US and unseated you from power. That is what Jaganmohan Reddy is. But, people knew what Lokesh had done in US,” Rambabu said filling the House with laughter.
Fire brand MLA R K Roja too grabbed the opportunity to return criticism to Chandrababu Naidu on his comparison between Jaganmohan Reddy and Lokesh.
Roja said that Jaganmohan Reddy had led 151 MLAs to victory while Lokesh could not win his own seat in Mangalagiri.
“Better, please stop comparing Jaganmohan Reddy with Lokesh or anyone,” Roja sought to advise the TDP chief as the ruling party members cheered her comments.

Venky Mama Inside Talk: Sentiment Overdose!
All eyes are on Venky Mama that is releasing on this Friday. It has been a while since a notable big release arrived at the theaters.
Venky Mama will definitely have the advantage of coming early among December releases. Also it is the first multi-starrer from Akkineni-Daggubati family.
Mama-Alludu sharing the screen will bring masses in big numbers to the theaters.
Director Bobby packaged it with all necessary commercial elements and a hint of patriotism by adding the surgical strike factor to it. The film will have loads of comedy and romance in the first half.
However, according to the inside buzz, Venky Mama has an overdose of sentiment in its second half. Climax is said to be a tearjerker and the success of the film depends upon how audiences react to it.
Venkatesh is known for pulling off highly emotional climax sequences and Team Venky Mama is hoping that the veteran will repeat his ‘Raja’ magic yet again.
Pratap appointed Special Rep on investment
Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday appointed Pratap Bhimireddy as the special representative to the government on investment promotion and infrastructure development.
Orders to this effect (GO Rt No. 2793) were issued by Principal Secretary (GAD) Praveen Prakash in the evening.
According to the order, Pratap Bhimireddy has vast experience on Product Innovation, Development, Product Sales Conceptualization and implementation for multiple reputed companies across the world.
He had worked in the fields of Information Technology, Health Care, Financial Services, Life Sciences Insurance Industries at global level in USA, Europe, Mexico, Canada.
“Keeping in view of expertise and exposure in Investment Promotion and Infrastructure Development, the government is appointing Pratap Bhimireddy as Special Representative to Government for Investment Promotion and Infrastructure Development,” the order said.
The terms and conditions of the appointment shall be issued separately, the GO said.
Pratap, who settled in Dallas of Texas State in the US, was running a firm Source Lead Inc. He started business Intelli in 2006.
He has been playing active role in North America Telugu Association for a long time and is a diehard supporter of YSR Congress party.

It was Ramanaidu’s dream to make a Manam kind of multi-starrer with his family members. Although he’s not with us now, his dream is finally fulfilled with Venky Mama that features Venkatesh and Naga Chaitanya in lead roles.
Rana got the opportunity to work with his babai for Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum where he shook leg in a special song. Then, Venky’s cameo did wonders for Chay’s Premam which went on to become a commercial hit.
For the first time, Venky and Chay have worked together in a full length film- Venky Mama due for release in four days.
Rana is of course curious to watch his babai and cousin together on screen. De facto, he was the one who announced the film’s release date when there was lots of confusion about it.
Now, he is part of the movie promotions. Rana interviewed Naga Chaitanya to make him disclose few interesting aspects of the film.
Chay in the interview divulged his on and off screen association with his Venky Mama.
“Venky Mama is usually a jovial person. But, he will be a completely different man when he comes before camera. It’s really tough to work with him. The way he emotes different expressions is truly amazing and it’s indeed a learning experience for me.”
Chay also revealed how strict his Suresh Mama is when it comes to work. “Suresh Mama used to inspect all the rooms after pack-up of shoot every day enquiring what exactly we were doing. He involves in all aspects of film making which shows his passions and dedication for cinema.”

#Ruler: The Only Glamour Treat For Sankranthi
Going by the trailer of Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Ruler, many might have felt that the senior hero has once again played it safe by picking up a masala movie that has usual ingredients but nothing else. However, the talk coming from B & C centres is that Ruler is the only film that has proper glamour treat.
While Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo is catering to family audiences with Trivikram churning out a pure family drama, Sarileru Neekevvaru is more of Mahesh Babu than anyone else. But in Ruler, the glamour treat poured by Sonal Chauhan in bikinis and Vedhika in another glamorous role are quite sizzling.
While Pooja Hegde (Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo) and Rashmika Mandanna (Sarileru Neekevvaru) might have also done the same, but they might not be of ‘Ruler’ range. And that’s what exciting folks out there. And this glamour quotient is padded by Balayya’s mass dialogues, which usually attract a section of audiences pretty much.
However, the big thing is that Ruler should impress with content and stay in theatres until Sankranthi as the film is hitting cinemas on Dec 20th itself. Only it could hold nerve with its content, it will be seen in theatres after Jan 11th and 12th. Otherwise, exhibitors might replace the film with those two biggies.
Buzz: Mahanati Director’s Next Is An Adult Movie
Dropping no major hints on his next film after ‘Mahanati’, director Nag Ashwin is maintaining a low profile from a long time. Though he thought of making a Jagadekaveerudu Athiloka Sundari kind of film with Megastar Chiranjeevi, that didn’t materialise for reasons unknown.
According to the grapevine, Nag Ashwin is now getting ready to direct an unthinkable movie from him. Though his two films so far dealt with philosophy and human relations, his next is going to be a strict adult movie. He will be directing one of the four stories of Telugu “Lust Stories”, while the three other parts are being directed by Nandini Reddy, Sankalp Reddy and Tharun Bhaskar.
Nag Ashwin will be directing the piece that was supposed to be directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. The Arjun Reddy director earlier stated that he was aboard because he thought that their story is dealing with caste-based honour killing, but as that is not the case, he has simply walked out of the first-ever Telugu project of Netflix.
While the fans of Mahanati movie are expecting something new and sensational from Nag Ashwini, the director picking up a lust story is truly unbelievable.
