Jagan has no magic wand, but people’s blessings!
YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy continues to hit the headlines almost every day by rolling out one welfare scheme after another for the benefit of various sections of people, notwithstanding the criticism from the opposition parties and sharp dissection from the media.
While there is nothing much for the opposition to attack him on the welfare front, they are trying to trouble him by kicking up controversies like his religion and caste and raking up issues like introduction of English medium in government schools etc. And they have been making headlines in the media regularly.
On Monday, Jagan made it clear that he would continue to follow the welfare agenda irrespective of the controversies over his religion and caste.
“Humanity is my religion and commitment to welfare is my caste,” he declared at a programme in Guntur. His comments have made the lead story for the media on Tuesday.
Despite their agenda, the pro-Telugu Desam Party media like Eenadu and Andhra Jyothy had no option but to carry Jagan’s welfare scheme like YSR Arogya Aasara.
Eenadu carried his statement that there was nothing to point out against his government and that he would provide a flawless rule.
Andhra Jyothy made Jagan’s statement that humanity is his religion as the lead story. It also pointed out his comments that he had no magic wand in his hand to implement the welfare schemes, but had the support and blessings of the people.
Sakshi carried a big banner story on Jagan’s latest programme YSR Arogya Asara, quoting him as saying that he would come to the rescue of all sections with his welfare schemes, irrespective of mudslinging by the opposition parties.
The major story for the media on Tuesday was, of course, the nationwide outrage over the rape and murder of Disha, a veterinary doctor on the outskirts of Hyderabad on November 28.
While Eenadu and Andhra Jyothy carried flyer stories on the anguish expressed by the MPs in parliament and their demand for not dragging the case for years together, Sakshi confined it to a pointer headline on the front page due to lack of space, but carried a detailed report inside.
Strangely, Eenadu and Andhra Jyothy continued to give considerable space for actor and Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan’s outburst against Jagan.
Eenadu is a little softer in this regard by confining to Pawan’s demand for giving importance to Telugu as a medium of instruction, but Andhra Jyothy sought to irritate the chief minister by quoting Pawan questioning whether Jagan had gone to jail only because he had studied in English medium.
Similarly, both the newspapers gave extensive coverage to TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu’s Kurnool tour in which he had criticised the Jagan government for cancelling every project that was taken up during the TDP regime and the police for allegedly foisting false cases against the TDP workers.
Apart from these political attacks on Jagan, Andhra Jyothy continued to carry “exclusive” reports to corner the government. It carried a lead story on a proposal of the government to start its own bank “Mee Bank” to route all the payments through this bank and operate it on the lines of PD accounts.
It also carried another negative story on alleged irregularities in door-delivery of subsidised rice by village volunteers in Srikakulam.

It is already hinted about the mass looks and dance moves through the sketches and the lyrics.Mahesh Babu, Rashmika Mandanna, Vijayashanthi and Prakash Raj are the lead actors in Sarileru Neekevvaru which is slated for Sankranthi 2020 release.
Chiranjeevi to Act with One Heroine
There have been rumors that Chiranjeevi is playing a dual role in Koratala Siva’s big-ticket movie.We mentioned it earlier that Chiranjeevi is playing only one role and he will pair up with a single heroine. Trisha has been finalized for this role but the makers have not announced her name yet.

It is indeed true that Koratala wanted Chiranjeevi to play two roles but he dropped the idea off after Ram Charan has come forward to essay the other role. This will be a lengthy guest role for Ram Charan.
Koratala’s this prestigious film with Megastar Chiranjeevi will commence the shoot next month.
Koratala and music director Mani Sharma are now holding music sittings in Bangkok in a resort. After finalizing the tunes, they will return to commence the regular shoot.
The plan is to release the film sometime in August 2020. Produced by Niranjan Reddy and Ram Charan, the movie will be made with Rs 140 crore.
The rise and fall of Karvy Stock Broking
In a major blow to Karvy Stock Broking Limited, the National Stock Exchange and the BSE on Monday banned the broking firm on account non-compliance of regulations.
Last month, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) had banned the brokerage firm from taking new clients and executing trades for its brazen modus operandi of misusing client funds by using their demat accounts.
The prompt action of the market regulator and its effective implementation by the bourses ensured that nearly 83,000 investors got back their securities which were illegally transferred by the firm to its own account and were even pledged for raising loan without the authorisation.
However, the matter once again highlighted that Indian markets are prone to manipulations and stricter and pragmatic regulations are still required for the market players to ensure fair play.
Karvy started its journey as a stock broker way back in 1983 and ever since has managed several large and prominent market offerings besides being a portfolio manager for key clients.
Its long journey at the bourses gave it the reputation of being a smart broker which could help investors grow their wealth. But in the process, the company also got aware of the loopholes in the system and how to use them for its own gains. It is here that the process of illegal transfer of clients’ funds by the broker to its own account started.
Like a normal brokerage operation, Karvy took money from clients for any buy order and transferred shares to them upon making payment to the bourses. Similarly, for share sale, the scrip moved from client’s demat account to the pool account of the broker from where it was transferred to the exchanges and the money received in return was deposited back into the client’s account.
It all seemed fair, till the broker started using client shares received into its pool account for pledging and raising loans. The client shares were then pledged for raising loans without authorisation for personal gains.
Karvy’s modus operandi involved transferring of shares from demat accounts of its clients, which were inactive, to demat accounts controlled by the broking house. It then pledged those shares with lenders and raised funds. These funds were transferred to Karvy Realty.
C. Parthasarathy, Chairman and Managing Director of Karvy group and a chartered accountant by qualification, had co-founded Karvy in 1983. Last week he resigned from Karvy Fintech, which acts as a registrar and transfer agent (RTA) for the mutual fund industry. His resignation had come after SEBI barred Karvy from taking fresh clients.
