JC to wind up Diwakar travels, at least for now!

Share

Diwakar Travels, one of the most popular private travel operators in Andhra Pradesh, will be wound up, at least for now, if not permanently.

This was announced by senior Telugu Desam Party leaders and former Anantapur MP J C Diwakar Reddy.

He told the reporters in Anantapur on Friday that he and his brother J C Prabhakar Reddy had taken the decision to close down the operations of Diwakar Travels, as it was difficult to run the business due to continued harassment by the police and Andhra Pradesh government.

For the last few weeks, the transport department has been serving notices on Diwakar Travels for alleged violation of Motor Vehicles Act and illegally running buses without valid permits.

More than 80 buses had been seized by the department in the last few weeks.

Diwakar Reddy alleged that the YSR Congress party government led by Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy had been indulging in revenge politics for the last few months and the harassment has only been getting intensified with every passing day.

He said the officials in the transport department and also the police had been specifically targeting him and his brother.

“That is why we have decided to wind up the travel business at least for now. It is better not to run buses, instead of entering into confrontation with the government day in and day out,” he said.

Diwakar Reddy, however, did not rule out reviving the business in future.

“For now, we have to close down. But power is not permanent for any political party and we hope good days will come in future,” he said.

M’rastra MLAs, media lose sleep over govt formation

Share

Mumbai: For the first time in its 59-year old history, Maharashtra, India’s second most politically important state and base of the country’s financial centre, is facing an intriguing, political situation after the October 21 Assembly elections.

On October 24, the polls threw up a fractured mandate with the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party getting 105, its then ally Shiv Sena 56, the opposition Nationalist Congress Party 54 and Congress 44, and the rest to Independents and smaller parties.

After this outcome 22 days ago, a bewildering situation has unfolded in which all the parties – individually and as past or upcoming groups – confidently claiming that they would form the state government.

For the 22nd consecutive day on Friday, BJP state President Chandrakant Patil edgily reassured that it was not possible to form the government without including its 105 MLAs, plus others making a total of 119 legislators, but has simultaneously claimed that the party will adopt “a wait-and-watch attitude” for the present.

On the Sena front, its MP Sanjay Raut full-throatedly declared, again for the 22nd day non-stop, that “only a Shiv Sena-led government will take office soon” at his tete-a-tete with media persons on Friday.

Its prospective allies – the Congress-NCP – have proclaimed that a government with Shiv Sena as the main partner would be sworn-in soon and the nitty-gritties are being worked out.

Amidst all these “morale-boosters”, it is only the newly-elected legislators of all parties and the media persons who seem to be most concerned about the ongoing government formation efforts in Maharashtra.

Sena President Uddhav Thackeray, Congress’ state chief Balasaheb Thorat and even NCP chief Sharad Pawar, have repeatedly counselled their nail-biting legislators that “All Is Well”, and there is no possibility of the dreaded mid-term elections anytime.

All the three parties also point out that when they needed just a couple of days’ time, they have now got six months duration (President’s Rule) within which to form the government, sending scary thoughts among the legislators and rattling the weary media.

Presently, sources in all the parties reveal their version of the possible unfolding political plot in the government formation imbroglio.

The BJP is confident that it will return to power, and former CM Devendra Fadnavis will be able to vindicate his promise – “Mee punha yaeen” – with a second term swearing-in. But nobody is willing to explain how it hopes to touch the magic figure of 145 for a simple majority in the 288-member house.

In a strange contradiction, the party leaders also darkly warn that any “khichdi” dispensation being dished out by the others would not last beyond a few days/weeks, and again the reins of power would come in the BJP’s control.

On the other hand, if their alliance is finalized, the Sena-NCP-Congress already command a clear total figure of 154 MLAs (56+54+44 respectively), plus some independents and other parties, which could give it a significant edge over the BJP’s 119.

Then why the delays, demand their exasperated legislators in private and in party meetings, as also the frustrated media.

Former Leader of Opposition Vijay Wadettiwar, of the Congress, patiently tried to explain on Thursday – saying that “the main challenge is not government formation, but to sustain it for the full five-year term” by the three prospective allies (Sena-NCP-INC) on the basis of a Common Minimum Programme (CMP).

To questions on the BJP’s claims that it would form the government, Pawar, Thorat and Raut have thrown the gauntlet – “Let them (BJP) go to Governor and stake their claim!”

Officially, the three potential allies have finalized their CMP and awaiting the nod of the respective party high commands – Sena’s Thackeray, NCP’s Pawar and Congress’ Sonia Gandhi.

Off records, party sources indicate that various power-sharing formulae have been discussed pertaining to the post of CM, the term (30-60 months), the post of Deputy CM, the heavy-medium-light ministerial portfolios and the coveted post of Speaker.

“We are hopeful that Pawar-Sonia will finalise things at their Sunday meeting in New Delhi and an announcement would be made soon on government formation,” said a senior Sena leader.

As if all this was not enough, there are wild cloak-and-dagger stories that some influential corporate houses maybe indulging in back-office politicking to ensure their favourite party/parties come to power in the state.

Action Review: Action Overload

Share

Of late, Vishal has been presenting interesting movies. After ‘Abhimanyudu’ and ‘Pandem Kodi 2’, he has done action thriller ‘Action’. The film has generated interest with the railer.

Let’s find out its merits and demerits.

Story:
Colonel Subash (Vishal) is an army officer but his entire family is into politics.

When his brother who would become the next Chief Minister’s death happens due to a political assassination, Vishal finds out that terrorist Malik (Kabir Singh) has hatched this plan and he’s hiding in Pakistan.

Subash now takes up this mission to bring Malik to India. He seeks the help of Diya (Tamannah) in his mission.

Artistes’ Performances:
Vishal has an action-star image and he pulls the role with so much ease. His best comes out in action stunts, there is nothing for him to showcase acting skills other than flexing muscles.

Tamannah adds the oomph factor, she also does stunts. Glamorous Akanksha Puri is hot. Kabir Duhan Singh as the terrorist is okay.

Technical Excellence:
The making standards of the movie are superior, a notch above the regular big-budgeted movies. The action sequences are choreographed in a jaw-dropping manner, the filming is equally frenetic.

Excellent cinematography, exotic locations, and action stunts have given the film a rich look.

Background music by HipHop Tamizha is also an asset. While the editing is sharp in the first half, it is inconsistent post-interval.

Highlights:
Action Scenes
Technical Aspects

Drawback:
Thin plot
Unconvincing final hour
Logic goes missing

Analysis
As the name suggests, “Action” is all about action. You see non-stop action in the movie. The plotline is familiar and thin but director Sundar C and his team have made this film a gripping action drama in the first half.

Like in Akshay Kumar’s ‘Baby’, the narration is quite gripping. With jaw-dropping action sequences, the first half of the movie is a thrill pill and it reaches a crescendo at the interval.

The stunning interval bang sets high expectations but it fizzles out from there.

The final 45 minutes completely go off the track as the proceedings turn quite predictable and logic completely goes for a toss.

As per the setup of the story, it is much like a regular terrorist drama. There is no proper script on the director’s hands.

Vishal doing dare-devil stunts, Aakanksha Puri and Tamannah providing glamour pill provide paisa vasool moments. But with not much meat in the plot, the grip is lost in the second half.

Sequences like easy political assassination on a future PM, a colonel doing everything all alone, while the entire political system is sleeping makes us ask a question: is there no logic at all?

Shot in several exotic locations like Turkey and Azerbaijan, the frames have looked dipping in richness. Money has spent heavily on rich production design. The action blocks are also of superior class.

The film does provide an entertaining experience to some extent but it would have made a better action movie had the director worked on final portions and a better story.

If you are new to this genre, it might give thrills but for regular action movie lovers, this is typical drama. All in all, this is an average action fare.

Bottom-line: Guns and Girls

Vamsi is still in 2009 hangover: Lokesh

Share

TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh has responded on criticism made by Vallabhaneni Vamsi. Speaking to the media in Nellore, Lokesh clarified that Vamsi resigned to TDP fearing cases and losing his crore of properties.

When asked about Jr NTR’s episode, Lokesh replied that he had no clue why Vamsi raked up NTR’s topic now. “We are in 2019. NTR campaigned for party in 2009 and Vamsi is still in the same year’s hangover. He needs to come of it,” said Lokesh.

Reacting on negative campaign in the social media against Vamsi, Lokesh said, “Even I have no clue about them. Vamsi himself forwarded few articles to me and I said I don’t know about them. A week back I spoke to him and he even sent me a WhatsApp message. All of a sudden Vamsi has changed his words,” added Lokesh.

Taking out Vamsi’s statement, “Earlier he said there is pressure from his followers and doesn’t want to continue in politics. Now Vamsi is making wild allegations against the party, chief Chandrababu and me. Leaders may go but the party’s followers and supporters are still with us,” said Lokesh.

Jr NTR Ni Chusthe Lokesh Ki 104 Fever – Vamsi

Share

A day after hurling abusive comments on TDP senior leader Rajendra Prasad and other leaders of TDP, Vallabhaneni Vamsi continued his blistering attack on Lokesh and Chandrababu Naidu.

Responding to Nara Lokesh who accused Vamsi of switching political party to ‘protect’ his assets, Vamsi asked whether Lokesh and Chandrababu could prove where he has ‘properties’ and for what ‘properties’ he had ‘compromised’ with CM Jagan.

Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi blasted Lokesh stating that the latter has even failed to become MLA while he had aspired to become Chief Minister. “Lokesh aspired to become CM and Chandrababu aspired to become PM and both have fallen down. Does Chandrababu have any guts to take on PM Modi? Chandrababu’s Deekshas are useless.” Vamsi raised about Lokesh’s defeat in Mangalagiri constituency and Chandrababu’s inefficiency to make his son as MLA.

Coming down heavily on Lokesh, Vamsi went onto describe Lokesh as ‘Pappu’ and even dubbed him as ‘Bal Bachcha’. Stating that Lokesh is ‘dumb’ and incomparable with Jr NTR, Vamsi said, “Lokesh ki, NTR ki, Nakka ki, Naga Lokaniki Vunna Teda Vundi.” Vamsi said NTR was star campaigner in 2009 and did a great help to party in 2009 electioneering. He asked why NTR is missing in TDP.

Vamsi further said, “NTR ni chusthe Nara Lokesh ki bhayam. NTR ni chusthe Lokesh ki 104 fever.” Vamsi did not even spare former CM Chandrababu. He said, “Chandrababu pallu korakadam tappa, emi cheyaledu.” He added that Naidu can’t even touch him. Vamsi said Lokesh is depending on his parents’ assets whereas he said he is independent and came on his own and grown on his own in politics. “Nee Amma, Nee Ayya Asthulu Meeda Nuvvu Bratukutunnav. Nenu Kasthapadi Vachanu,” said Vamsi.

TDP’s Jurassic Park

Vallabhaneni Vamsi said TDP has Jurassic Park around Chandrababu Naidu. He said there are several animals in TDP’s Jurassic Park. He said buffoons, jokers in TDP are giving media statements against him. Vamsi even advised Chandrababu to keep these jokers away from him.

Those Websites Not Related To TDP – Lokesh

Earlier Nara Lokesh said Vamsi is joining YCP only to protect his properties. Lokesh clarified that neither he nor TDP is not related to the websites that have morphed Vamsi and tried to defame him. Lokesh said how he can be blamed and made responsible for some random and negative articles against Vamsi.

Suhana’s college pic from her play in NYC

Share

Bollywood’s Baadshah Shahrukh Khan’s beautiful teen daughter Suhana Khan has garnered enough popularity for her active social media presence, for posting lovely pictures on Insta and for her public appearances along with her parents. Suhana, who has done many plays in her school, is now theatre-oriented. She also wants to be an actress in B-town in her own way.

To make her dream come true, Suhana is working real hard by joining an acting college in New York City. The recent picture of her going viral shows Suhana with her college mates involved in a skit. It was captured from a mid-scene as she performs in a play in New York. Suhana wore a white Ganji top paired with black pants and a hat on her head. Along with her, her college and playmates are also seen behind doing the act.

For the picture, Suhana has been receiving a lot of encouragement from the younger generation as it is vividly seen that the ‘professional actress in making’ is dedicating her life to the acting. In fact, not all star kids devote their complete time to the passion i.e, acting. Suhana is one of a kind, trying to live up to his dad’s name. Isn’t that a pressure on her to be SRK’s daughter, as well? However, she is taking that pressure as a motivational pleasure by getting expertise in acting.

Not only her gorgeous and sexy photos one also needs to see her efforts who want to do wonders in her film career in the future. Her new image from the play is only proving her talent and dedication.

Pawan flies to Delhi, To meet Amit Shah!

Share

Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan flew to the New Delhi all of a sudden and this has become a hot topic in the AP political circles. From the media reports, it is said that Pawan is likely to meet Home minister Amit Shah and if possible PM Narendra Modi.

In the recent times, Pawan Kalyan has pitched up his fight against the ruling YSRCP government and he took the centre stage in the media despite having a proper opposition like TDP. With Pawan’s protests and criticism, YSRCP is restless and attacks and counter attacks are going on for the last few days.

With Pawan being in the main focus, BJP which is trying to bring him into his fold, is getting ready to hold talks with him. Accordingly as and when Pawan conveyed the idea of meeting BJP leadership, he got an immediate response and so he rushed to the national capital without wasting time. In this trip, Pawan might meet Modi as well given the latter’s availability or else the Jana Sena chief is expected to stay for one more day in New Delhi.

There is a rumour in AP that YSRCP government is having BJP and its leaders support. But this was cleared off recently with Jagan getting denied Modi and Shah’s appointments. BJP is heard to be upset on this rumour and has distanced itself of the ruling party in state. Instead of YSRCP and Chandrababu, BJP wants to build rapport with Pawan, so that by 2024 elections, they can form an alliance and go for the polls.

The other side of Pawan’s Delhi tour is, he is going there just to complaint against the state government in dealing with issues like sand crisis and introduction of English medium in all government schools. Jana Sena leader does have some evidence of wrongdoings of YSRCP government and he wants to put them before the BJP government, so that they would take action against AP CM YS Jagan.

Whatever it is, if Pawan gets Modi and Shah appointments, then Jagan will have something to bother. Even after this meeting, if nothing comes out, Jagan will have advantage while Pawan will remain as leader with no action.

US: Telugu techie died of heart attack

Share

Prashanth Pandal, a US-based Telugu NRI had his name listed in the Green Card backlog. Yesterday, Prashanth died of a heart attack and the sudden death shook his family members. His death has also left his wife, whom he married just 4 months ago, rendered out of status resulting in her inevitable return to India.

Last month, a similar case of Shiva Chalapathi Raju’s demise from North Carolina, whose name was also in the Green Card backlog, left his pregnant wife in inevitable pain and grief. Within a month, Prashanth’s death is once again leaving Indians shock. Since each country can receive only 7% of the total number of green cards available in a single category each year, green card backlogs are rapidly increasing in number.

Prashantha and his newlywed wife Sindhu lived in Tampa, Florida and he died after suffering from a heart attack on November 9. His wife Sindhu is a native from Telangana and moved to the US after marrying Prahanth in June.

With Pandal’s death, the North America Telugu Society has started a fundraiser to help the deceased family. And via Go Fund Me campaign, the organization is putting the efforts in lending support to family members and friends, besides taking care of funeral arrangements. The goal of the fundraiser is $100,000 and it has already received a positive $58,409 contributions within a span of two days.

Ileana doing her best to come back!

Keeping films at bay when in love and trying to strike back big in films when a breakup happens- is what the mantra of starlets of like Shruti Haasan and Ileana D’Cruz these days. While Shruti bagged a big offer through Raviteja’s Krack, Ileana is yet to get one in Tollywood.

After she broke up with husband Andrew Kneebone, Ileana is making sure that she attends every single party, event and also promoting her latest film Pagalpanti big time. By appearing in spicy looks and revealing costumes, she wants to make a mark everywhere with her ravishing presence. Such that Ileana hopes to crack more offers in Bollywood and Tollywood too.

However, Tollywood has given chances to Ileana much before she broke up through the likes of Raviteja’s Amar Akbar Antony. But the actress failed to use it, as she refused to tone down her chubby looks and not interested in flaunting her glamorous best for the film. Also, demanding a high remuneration won’t help now when there is huge competition around.

Perhaps that is the reason Ileana’s seduction reached peaks as she appears in deep cut and cleavage-revealing dresses these days. Let’s see what works out.

Buzz: Why Ram Charan’s Look Changed?

Share

Mega hero Ram Charan is having a gala of time as he heads to Ramoji Film City every day now to shoot for Rajamouli’s #RRR movie. And then, fans are having doubts about his varied looks as he heads to shoot there.

A couple of months back, Ram Charan and Jr NTR sported handlebar moustache that has a twirling at the end. And then they have also gone for partly shaven beard with their moustaches getting all the attention. Charan attended many events related to Sye Raa in the same look, thus popularising his Alluri Seetharama Raju look.

But now that Charan is heading to RFC, there is neither the handlebar moustache nor the clean shave, but he’s looking bit simple without any special styling to his facial hair. One wonders why Charan’s look changed, but people close to #RRR informs us that the look got changed due to variation in character and scenes.

“Charan will be seen in simple look in Delhi episodes where he goes as a simple student. Once he turns the Alluri-like patriot, his avatar will be something else. That will be understood only when you watch the film” a source commented.

RGV Clears All His Debts?

Share

The reason many insiders cited with Ram Gopal Varma started his new “Factory” in Mumbai and making back to back films, albeit flops and spineless movies, is that he has crores of debts to be taken care of. During the times when he made Rakta Charitra movie, it was rumoured that he has almost 40 crores debt.

From movies like Vangaveeti to Lakshmi’s NTR, most of Varma’s films are produced by some relative newcomers and all those producers are said to have given a superior package to the director. By saving big numbers in those films, RGV is said to be clearing his debuts. And now that he is coming up with Kamma Rajyamlo Kadapa Reddlu, here is a big rumour.

Apparently the film is made in association with a political party with an intention to smear paint on opposition parties. Also, the film’s story itself is like a hate campaign being done to irk every living politician. For doing such acts quite interestingly and daringly, the leading politicians from that party are said to have not only funded the project but also helped Varma clear most of his debts.

Recently Varma constructed a posh office in Hyderabad as well, and we hear that one of the politician from that party has given funds to do it. Well, we have to see if Varma will open up on these things.

Jagan’s new shock to KCR; objects Kaleshwaram

Share

Kaleshwaram project is a dream of Telangana CM KCR. With thousands of crore of investment, the project was completed in over three years. For the project’s inauguration KCR invited then Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis and AP CM YS Jagan. In a grand manner it was launched and then TRS party celebrated that it is the biggest boon for Telangana state.

In a new jolt to KCR, AP CM Jagan’s YSRCP government has raised objections over Kaleshwaram project and in their affidavit to Supreme Court. They appealed not to give national status to the irrigation project. AP government claimed that Kaleshwaram was re-engineered and so it is completely a new project.

Not just Kaleshwaram, the AP government also raised objections on Palamuru-Rangareddy, Dindi Lift Irrigation projects and said that they are not part of AP Bifurcation Act and don’t have approvals of Krishna Tribunal. Despite this, Telangana government is going ahead with the construction of the projects. Because of these projects, Polavaram construction and Dhavaleshwaram projects are getting affected

The AP government also blamed the union government for overlooking their pleas. “We have requested the centre to form an apex council to look into details of irrigation projects of both the states. But the union government did not do so. We request the Supreme Court to send directives to the centre to implement the AP Bifurcation Act without any hassle,” mentioned the AP government in its affidavit.

AP government filed this counter on BJP leader Ponguleti Sudharkar Reddy’s petition in Supreme Court over the implementation of Bifurcation Act in Telangana.
