A lot happening around Vallabhaneni Vamsi

Share

TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu met party MLAs, MPs and MLCs at his residence in Amaravati on Friday. In this meeting, a discussion about Vallabhaneni Vamsi’s comments took place and after that the party decided to suspend Vamsi.

When the media confronted Vallabhaneni and asked about his suspension news, he questioned when he resigned what is the point of suspending him from the party. “If few more leaders like me are suspended from TDP, then there will be no one around Chandrababu. If the TDP chief has so much courage, he should demand for suspension of Rajya Sabha MPs who changed the party. Can he dare to protest at Modi and Amit Shah’s residences in Delhi?” asked Vamsi.

Earlier in the day, Vamsi reached the Commissioner of Police office in Vijayawada and complained against TDP social media wing that his images are being morphed and making degrading posts against him.

Overall, a lot is happening around Vallabhaneni Vamsi.

Finally Miss World Manushi to debut!

Share

After getting crowned as Miss World in 2017, everyone thought Manushi Chillar would certainly prefer to step into the film industry. But this Delhi beauty stayed away from films and was occupied with her own work. Now this Manushi is all set to make her debut and that too with a historical period drama film.

To be directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi, the film is titled ‘Prithviraj’ and is based on the life and heroism of the fearless king Prithviraj Chauhan. ‘Khiladi’ Akshay Kumar will start in the title role and the film is formally launched with a puja ceremony on Friday.

Manushi will to play the role of princess Sanyogita and for this, she is getting trained under the supervision of experts. Aditya Chopra will produce ‘Prithviraj’ under Yash Raj Films and the release is scheduled for Diwali 2020.

Nagarjuna Is Bigger Boss Than NTR And Nani

Share

Some went on commenting that Nagarjuna’s hosting might not get as much response as Nani got as the show host of #BiggBoss reality show. And few stated that touching Tarak’s craze is impossible for the veteran. But the senior hero proved that he is a bigger boss than the previous two hosts of the show.

As per BARC ratings, the Grand Finale of Bigg Boss Telugu Season 3 has touched a phenomenal 18.29 TRP ratings. And the big moment came from the climax hour where Megastar Chiranjeevi has taken part, as that particular hour got a whopping 22.4 TRP ratings. This is not just a record-breaking show by Nag, followed by Chiranjeevi, but a crazy sensational thing of epic proportions, we must say.

Guess what, both the finales hosted by NTR and Nani respectively are miles apart to Nagarjuna’s finale, as NTR’s BiggBoss1 got 14.13 TRPs and Nani’s BiggBoss3 finale fetched 15.05 TRPs. Though many critics have raised their guns on Nagarjuna for not being spontaneous and so on, it looks like audiences have immensely liked his presence.

Though none of the contestants of Season 3 has shot to sensational fame like Kaushal, it is quite stunning that the Finale attracted so many viewers.

Sukumar Plans Big For Bunny In Bangkok

Share

The strange case of star directors taking huge gaps after scoring a blockbuster has struck Sukumar too. This time he has taken almost two years gap after Rangasthalam to kick start his next movie, which has Allu Arjun in the leads. Here is an interesting snippet about the plans being made.

Apparently the story of #AA20 is based on red sanders smuggling that happens in the Nallamala forests in Chittoor district. However, the real Nallamala is not so convenient for the shooting of the movie as it has lack of transportation facilities and other amenities to take actors inside the jungle. Perhaps that is the reason why smuggling is rampant in this area.

And to replicate this jungle, Sukumar and his producers have carved out a nice plan. They are scouting for locations in Bangkok where the deepest points of the forest are also reachable via cars and other vehicles. Earlier some fight sequences in movies like Chirutha are shot in those forests. Now, Sukumar and his team might go for almost a month shoot in the forests of Bangkok, revealed a source.

Featuring Allu Arjun in his most rugged avatar ever portrayed, the film has Rashmika Mandana and another actress playing the female lead. Devi Sri Prasad is composing music.

Corporate Schools Behind English Medium Ruckus?

Share

YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy’s decision to introduce English as the medium of instruction in the government-run schools has created a big storm in politics and generated a big debate in the media circles.

Though it has become a routine affair for the opposition parties to criticize every decision of the Jagan government, there appears to be a strong motive behind this ruckus over introduction of English medium in government schools.

Apparently, there is a strong lobby of private educational institutions behind the hue and cry by the opposition parties.

It is an open secret that the educational sector in the Telugu states is being controlled by corporate groups for which it is a big business, thanks to English medium which is a compulsory medium of instruction in their schools.

While the rich and the upper middleclass families anyway send their children to English-medium based convent schools, these days even middleclass and lower middleclass sections are sending their children to private schools only because they want their children to study in English medium, despite their high fees structure.

These corporate schools are thriving and mushrooming across the Telugu states only because of these middleclass sections because of their big numbers.

As a result, the government schools are confined to underprivileged and the children of the villagers send their children to government schools because they can’t afford the high tuition fees of the private schools.

Even among these sections, most of the children drop out midway due to financial problems. This is affecting the enrolment in government schools.

If government schools teach in English medium, even the middleclass people would not hesitate to admit their children in the government schools.

As the enrolment in government schools increase, the business of corporate educational institutes would be affected severely.

That is why they are very much worried about Jagan’s proposal. And so, they are trying to step up pressure on the government by sponsoring the agitation by opposition parties to withdraw the order.

But Jagan wants every student in the state to have the best of educational facilities. He is creating a level playing field. Even the government school students should have better chances in the competitive world.

That is why, he mooted the idea of introducing English medium in all the government schools from next year.

However, Chandrababu Naidu, Pawan Kalyan and a section of state BJP leaders are vehemently opposing this idea in the garb of promoting mother-tongue.

Some of these leaders are promoting the hidden agenda of the corporate educational mafia.

Photos of kin of these leaders, who are hobnobbing with promoters of these corporate schools are doing rounds on social media, further affirming the fact that these leaders have malicious intentions.

Pawan Leaves For Delhi: What’s Up?

Share

In a sudden development, actor-turned-Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan left for New Delhi from Vijayawada, giving rise to speculations that he might hold secret talks with the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Though party sources indicated that he had gone to Delhi on a private visit, sources said there was a possibility of Pawan meeting BJP president and Union home minister Amit Shah and if possible, even Prime Minister Narendra Modi and explaining the present developments Andhra Pradesh.

Pawan had already declared that he would meet the Prime Minister and home minister, if necessary, to bring to their notice some of the controversial decisions being taken by the Jagan Mohan Reddy government.

There is also a talk that the Jana Sena Party chief had received a call from the BJP bosses in Delhi. Apparently, the BJP leadership is said to be evincing interest in bring Pawan into the NDA fold so as to must the support of Kapu votes in the next elections.

In the past, Pawan disclosed openly that he had been under pressure to merge his party with a national party but he would continue the Jana Sena Party as long as he could. He asserted that he would not succumb to any pressures.

On Friday, too, the Jana Sena chief said those who had come into Jana Sena with an eye on power and political posts had left the party after the elections.

“If there are any other leaders who don’t want to continue in Jana Sena, they can quit. I will continue to run the party with dedicated party workers,” he said.

Another Telugu Techie in US Green Card backlog dies

Washington: A US-based Indian professional, whose name was listed in the Green Card backlog, died suddenly and as a result his newly-wedded wife has been rendered out of status resulting in her inevitable return to India, a media report said.

He had married his wife, Sindhu only four months ago in India. She had just recently moved to the US with Padal, a native from Telangana.

The North America Telugu Society has started a fundraiser to help Padal’s family.

Through the Go Fund Me campaign, the organization is actively working with family members and friends and funeral home to make all funeral arrangements and fund-raising support.

English medium: Kanna opposes, Vishnu supports

Share

YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy’s decision to make English as a medium of instruction in all the government schools was strongly resisted by the Bharatiya Janata Party in the state.

BJP Andhra unit president Kanna Lakshminarayana even smeared a communal colour to Jagan’s decision saying it was a conspiracy as part of encouraging Christianity in schools.

He said the decision would completely destroy the Telugu language and culture in the state.

Surprisingly, Kanna’s own colleague and former MLA P Vishnu Kumar Raju came in support of Jagan and opposed his party president’s view on English medium.

He said it was an excellent decision from the Jagan government that would go a long way in improving the educational standards of the students.

Vishnu, however, suggested that Telugu should not be neglected in the English medium schools. He said he did not know why Kanna was opposing such an excellent decision.

Not just Vishnu, even the BJP MLC Somu Veerraju also recently supported Jagan’s decision to introduce English medium in the government schools and said it would improve the strength in the schools.

Tenali Ramakrishna BA BL Review: Hey Rama Krishna!

Share

After a long time, Sundeep Kishan has tried his hand at comedy in this week’s release ‘Tenali Ramakrishna BA BL’. As this is directed by G Nageswara Reddy who earlier directed comedies like ‘Seema Sastry’, the movie has garnered attention.

Let’s find out how far it has generated laughs.

Story:
Tenali Ramakrishna (Sundeep Kishan) is a budding lawyer in Kurnool city. He doesn’t get many cases to deal with.

Due to some incidents, he inadvertently takes up businesswoman Varalaxmi’s (Varalaxmi Sarath Kumar) case and bails her out from a murder case, thinking that she is innocent. However, he comes to know that Varalaxmi is not innocent.

How Tenali uses his brain to implicate her in the case is the rest of the drama.

Artistes’ Performances:
After playing serious roles for many years, Sundeep Kishan has played a comic role but his body language doesn’t suit this character. He has tried to perform mass moments than doing the comedy.

Hansika has nothing much to do other than being hero’s lover.

Varalaxmi Sarath Kumar in her maiden Telugu movie has done a neat job.

Saptagiri’s comedy is good. Murali Sharma and Vennela Kishore are okay. Chammak Chandra generates a few laughs in the second half, but they are quite routine.

Technical Excellence:
The film has decent technical values. Cinematography is the main asset. Sriram has presented this colourfully.

Music and artwork are adequate enough for the theme of the movie. However, it needed better editing work.

Highlights:
Some laughs

Drawback:
Regular story
Routine narration
Lengthy second half

Analysis
Director G Nageshwara Reddy belongs to the old school of filmmaking. His comedies have worked ten years ago, but today’s generation doesn’t connect with these regular comedies. His recent flops are a proof.

After taking a long gap, he has come up with this film and tried to present the old comedy elements in a tetra pack but this old wine in a new bottle is not tasty enough.

It is a punishment to sit through a major portion of the movie where nothing happens other than some comedy punch dialogues.

A lawyer with no cases, a bunch of comedians doing all sorts of gimmicks in court premises and a hero falling for the daughter of a rich lawyer, etc. – these scenes are straight out of a formulaic template of comedy movies.

Generally, Allari Naresh acts in such comedy movies. The only difference in “Tenali Ramakrishna” is that Sundeep Kishan has stepped in the shoes of Allari Naresh.

As Sundeep is not a typical comedy hero, the director has tried to include some mass moments and fights.

A couple of comedy portions have definitely generated laughs in the second half but the film is more of a clichéd entertainer.

Nageshwara Reddy has included all the references of current political jargon Kodi Kathi, Grama Volunteers, political rap that bring smiles on the lips. But the whole episode of Sundeep Kishan – Varalaxmi goes on and on spoiling the proceedings further.

All in all, ‘Tenali Ramakrishna BA BL’ is a weak case that hardly wins the hearts of the audiences.

Bottom-line: Weak Case

Brother kills brother, their wives contest against each other

Share

The Jharkhand state’s Jharia will witness figuratively a vicious electoral battle with Rajini Singh and Poornima Singh contesting from Congress and BJP respectively. The 2014 case of the present MLA, Sanjeev Singh, is currently behind bars in connection with the murder case of his cousin Niraj Singh, who was also a former deputy mayor.

During 2014, Sanjeev contested on a BJP ticket and won by a margin of 30,000, defeating Niraj who had contested on a Congress ticket. But Niraj as shot down on the behest of Sanjeev and he surrendered at Dhanbad police station regarding the same. It is reported that now the wife of Sanjeev Singh Ragini is fielded on a BJP ticket and on the other hand, Niraj’s widow, Poornima, is contesting on a Congress ticket.

The heated matter has magnified a bit more when late Niraj’s younger brother Harsh Singh said, “Jharia has been treated as ancestral property. Anyone who comes in the way is eliminated by ‘a family’, referring to Sanjeev Singh family. He claimed that “Dhanbad is such a place where his elder brother Niraj was killed in the ‘busiest steel gate’. He said the reason could be because Niraj was becoming a political threat for the MLA.

It is believed that Purnima’s late husband Niraj, though lost the electoral battle, has won people’s love and affection and he was fondly remembered as an amicable person. Probably, the why Sanjeev felt threatened with Niraj’s growing popularity and allegedly killed Niraj in 2017.

Now their wives are on full fire in winning, with the same grudge and power. And the sources say that the people of Jharia are feared to vote on December 16 keeping violent pat in the mind. However, Poornima urged everyone to vote for the best representative and stated that if she wins, she will fight out on the basic issues like lack of water and road, and undermine the fire raging since the last nine decades.

#KammaWashout: Who Is Next?

Share

The exit of Kamma leaders like Sujana Chowdary, Rayapati Sambasiva Rao continued as several prominent leaders of TDP leaving one after the other leaving Chandrababu Naidu and Nara Lokesh to the last. Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi too left the party and leveled serious charges against TDP leaders. Joining the bandwagon is Devineni Avinash who had taken a shocking u-turn. Avinash, who had very recently claimed that he would continue in TDP till his last breath, has changed his words in very short time by jumping to ruling YCP.

Now, all eyes are on who is going to be the next big wicket in party. As per sources, Vijayawada MP Kesineni Nani is mulling over to quit party soon. Nani has been upset with Chandrababu Naidu ever since the party suffered a major defeat in 2019 polls. Nani took to social media to express his angst. Nani took indirect potshots at former Irrigation minister Devineni Uma for the poor state of party in Krishna district. However, Nani was pacified and Naidu’s lobbying worked to calm down Nani for time being.

However, Nani may not long last in party going by the recent turn of events. As many strong leaders are leaving TDP in these tough times, Nani may also join the legion soon. If Nani leaves, TDP’s strength in Lok Sabha will reduce from existing 3 to 2.

Meanwhile, it is not sure whether Nani would join YCP after he leaves TDP. It is learnt that Nani may even consider joining BJP as the party is ruling at Centre. Also, Nani has good relations with BJP’s senior leaders like Venkaiah Naidu and Nithin Gadkari. Even if he joins YCP or BJP, it will be indeed a set back to TDP.
