Viral Video: Vamsi Swamy’s Boothu Puraanam

Share

In fact, migrations and defections are quite common in the ‘cheapest’ politics our politicians often play. But then, AP Chief Minister YS Jagan has set a precedent by not allowing MLAs from other parties to join into the ruling party by passing an Anti-Defection Law. However, that is not getting applied to the non-elected leaders.

While Devineni Avinash joined YSRC officially, Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi clarified that he’s not resigning to the post, but will be extending his support to YS Jagan. Discussing the same, when TV9 Telugu invited Vamsi for a debate with TDP MLC Rajendra Prasad as the other participant, the Gannavaram MLA lost his cool and used all the foul language on earth to justify his moves.

After Vamsi opened up his mouth, netizens erupted in anger as they shared some of his old videos. In one of them, which is going viral now, Vamsi is seen saying that ‘Kadupuki annam tinevadu evadu YSRC lo join avvadu’.

E for Esuka, E for English

Share

The two burning topics that are troubling CM Jagan are Esuka (Sand Scarcity) and English medium’s introduction in government schools. Ironically, both start with E and this is noted by none other than Undavalli Arun Kumar, who is close aide of late YSR.

Undavalli, who is known as intellectual in political circles, remarked that the sand scarcity is serious issue that brought bad reputation to Jagan government. He said Jagan government is now claiming of availability of sand and is willing to distribute the sand, but he added that the sand rates have been hiked in Jagan’s rule and he asked the government to look into it.

He advised YCP leaders and government to explain people on the reasons for increasing sand prices and he asked them to decrease the time of criticizing Opposition parties. Undavalli stressed that the government should focus on convincing people instead of indulging in politics.

The former Rajahmundry MP said the ‘political corruption’ has come down drastically in Jagan’s rule. He said it is welcome change. He said the corruption in officials would take some time to come down.

He pointed that the ACB has become active and strong which would show its results soon. Overall, Undavalli has appeared to have played a balance role. But on other hand, he has come as a strong defense to Jagan’s rule and supported even decisions that are bringing bad name to his government.

Tamil And Kannada Directors Left NTR for Others?

Share

To deliver the biggest of big hits, actually, Jr NTR is looking forward to work with acclaimed ‘mass masala’ directors. But then, as he is trying to set up a good lineup of films after #RRR, it looks like the other language directors he is eyeing are actually not giving any clarity to him.

Apparently it is Jr NTR who made Mythri Movie Makers reach KGF director Prashant Neel to pay advance for their combination. But then, the director went ahead with KGF2 and is looking forward to carving out a film with Mahesh Babu first. So there is no clarity when he will be teaming up with Jr NTR.

At the same time, NTR is said to be in touch with Tamil filmmaker Atlee and some sources close to the Nandamuri hero are trying hard to set this combination. Though Atlee hailed Tarak recently, he hasn’t given any clarity about their film. And now that Shahrukh Khan is rumoured to have signed a three-film deal with Atlee, there is no way for him to direct a film with NTR any soon.

In the wake of this happening, it is heard that NTR is now looking forward to the likes of Koratala Siva and Trivikram for his next, while both the directors have already given various commitments.

Megastar To Look Into Ala.. Vs Sarileru..?

Share

When legendary director Dasari Narayana Rao passed away, many have openly stated that Megastar Chiranjeevi should take the beacon of Tollywood, and solve the crisis situations with authority and wisdom. Though Chiru never appeared publicly ding that, he is said to be taking care of issues in the background.

As Megastar went to the USA for a 10-day trip, many things including a majority crisis in Movie Artists Association where the teams led by president Naresh and general secretary Jeevitha are at loggerheads are waiting to be resolved. And today (Thursday) morning, Megastar Chiranjeevi has landed back in Hyderabad as his from the USA to India via Dubai has touched ground in the early hours. Will he swiftly dive into action now?

Apart from MAA crisis, few producers are also said to be asking Megastar Chiru to handle the issue of clashing release dates of two big films. You guessed it right, the clash of Ala Vaikunthapurramulooa and Sarileru Neekevvaru on Jan 11th needs to be resolved, and trade circles are said to have requested the Megastar to look into it.

On the work front, Megastar needs to join hands with Koratala Siva to kick start the first schedule of their upcoming project.

#MahaDeal: Sena gets CM, NCP and Cong to get Dy CMs

Share

The first step for government formation in Maharashtra is cleared with Shiva Sena, Nationalistic Congress party (NCP) and Congress coming to an understanding. In the talks between these three parties, Shiva Sena will get the full term Chief minister post while one each from NCP and Congress will become the deputy CM.

A 40-point common minimum programme (CMP) is prepared by the leaders of the three parties and the final draft of the discussion will go to the chiefs of respective parties. Once the CMP gets an approval, there are high chances of a government coming into existence in Maharashtra.

Also Shiva Sena, NCP and Congress have figured out the number of cabinet berths and it will be 14 each for Sena and NCP while Congress will get 12.

As per the sources, Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi will hold talks with Maha Congress leaders on November 17th and by November 19th, the final step is likely to be laid for government formation.

So in all likely, Maharashtra will have a new government next week but it’s minus the BJP. On November 12th, President’s rule is imposed in Maharashtra after no party came forward to form government.

English Medium: Naidu Family is best example

Share

AP civil supplies minister Kodali Nani lashed out at TDP leaders who are criticizing the YSRCP government for introducing English medium in the all the government schools. Nani cited the examples of Srikakulam leaders Rammohan Naidu and Atcchannaidu on their language skills.

“MPs Yerran Naidu and Rammohan Naidu are fluent in English and so they were sent to New Delhi. With their language command, they managed to get their work done from the national capital. Whereas Atcchannaidu is confined to Vijayawada as he doesn’t know English and studied in Telugu medium,” satired Kodali Nani.

The YSRCP minister also added that TDP leaders are unnecessarily objecting English medium in government schools. “Opposition leaders make their children study in English medium and international schools but they want poor and backward children to study Telugu medium. This shows their biased natured,” stated Nani.

Despite the opposition, YSRCP government went ahead with introducing English medium in all the government schools and is hopeful of getting more children in the schools.

#RTCStrike: JAC gives up merger demand!

Share

The TSRTC has come down on its main demand that it went for strike on October 5th. RTC JAC convener Ashwathama Reddy has announced that they are dropping the demand of merger of RTC with government for now but for sure they would take it up the issue in future for the welfare of employees.

“We took this decision collectively as employees are going into depression and committing suicides. At least now the government has to call us for talks and look towards solving our demands. If not we would intensity our agitation further,” said Ashwathama Reddy. He added that the government should take the responsibility of employees who have committed suicide so far and despite employees dying at one end, TRS sarkar is unmoved.

“The government should unconditionally release all the RTC JAC leaders who were arrested. Even during the Telangana agitation, we did not see such arrests and the government is suppressing our voice with police force,” stated Ashwathama Reddy. Lastly the JAC convener said if the government privatizes 5100 routes then the poor and backward people will face difficulty. The government should rethink its stubborn stand on humanitarian ground and call us for talks, appealed Reddy.

The strike of TSRTC has entered 41st day. The other day CM KCR has discussed about the route permits with transport authority officials but is waiting for High Court’s verdict in inviting private travel operators.

Releasing Today: A Weekend Loaded With Mass Masala

Share

With no big releases lined up for release until mid-December, many small budget films are trying their luck at the box office now.

Sundeep Kishan’s latest film Tenali Ramakrishna BABL is releasing today amid decent expectations. The promos have shown a bit of promise with a good dose of mass comedy.

Tenali Ramakrishna is like the last ray of hope for struggling Sundeep Kishan, who couldn’t find a way out of the hole that he has dug into.

However, Tenali Ramakrishna is going to have stiff competition from Vishal’s Action film that is looking extremely promising. Tamanna is the female lead in this film directed by Sundar C.

Vijay Sethupathi’s latest Tamil film Sagathamizhan is dubbed into Telugu as Vijay Sethupathi. It is having simultaneous release in Telugu.

It has Rashi Khanna and Nivetha Pethuraj playing the female leads. All in all, it is a weekend loaded with mass masala and let’s see which among these Friday releases click with the audience.

News Scan: Sand, English still dominate news

Share

For the last several weeks, sand crisis has been the biggest issue for the opposition parties in Andhra Pradesh and it continues to dominate the front pages of the major Telugu newspapers in the state.

And for the last couple of weeks, another issue – introduction of English medium in government schools has been yet another issue hitting the headlines in the media.

On Friday, too, these two issues figured prominently in the three major Telugu dailies in the state – Eenadu, Andhra Jyothy and Sakshi.

However, two major judgements by the Supreme Court – giving clean chit to the Narendra Modi government on Rafael deal and referring the controversial Sabarimala issue to a broader bench with seven judges – have been the flyers for all the three major Telugu newspapers, because of the readers’ interest.

Apart from these two reports of SC judgements, the Telugu dailies played up Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy’s assertion that there is no question of going back on his decision to introduce English medium in government schools.

While Eenadu referred to Jagan’s statement that it was not possible to get higher jobs without studying in English as the medium of instruction, Andhra Jyothy said the decision was only to change the destiny of the poor students.

Sakshi obviously made it as a first lead stating that it was the first step towards changing the history of the state.

Andhra Jyothy and Sakshi also highlighted the chief minister’s announcement of providing Rs 20,000 to each poor student apart from fee reimbursement scheme.

Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu’s day-long Sand Deeksha at Vijayawada was no doubt a big news for Eenadu and Andhra Jyothy which made it their second lead, while Sakshi restricted it to a small item at the bottom of the front page.

Eenadu quoted Naidu as saying that Jagan was ignoring BCs as they supported the TDP, Andhra Jyothy said Naidu warned Jagan that it was his last chance to be in the CM’s chair.

Eenadu also carried Pawan Kalyan’s criticism against Jagan on conducting Sand Week, after the death of 50 construction workers.

Sakshi has an interesting story on “Blue Frog Technologies” which it alleged was a conspiracy of the TDP in blocking huge quantity sand using online system, thereby creating artificial scarcity in the state. It said the Cybercrime police are investigating into the background of this company.

The defection of Telugu Yuvatha president Devineni Avinash and Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi into the YSRC is another interesting story that figured in AJ and Sakshi, but was pushed into inside pages by Eenadu.

Similarly, new chief secretary Neelam Sawhney assuming charge is also another interesting news featured by Eenadu and Sakshi and ignored by Andhra Jyothy.

Sakshi carried another story that will interest readers: how Anantapur has come out of drought-like situation this year due to heavy rains that filled almost all tanks and rivers. Good to see such developmental reporting in the Telugu media, at least occasionally!

Trump proposes 83% hike in cost to become US citizen

Share

Washington: US President Donald Trump’s administration has officially proposed an 83 per cent increase in cost to become an American citizen, claiming that “current fees do not recover the full costs of providing adjudication and naturalization services”.

“The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) proposes to adjust certain immigration and naturalization benefit request fees charged by US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS),” Xinhua news agency quoted a DHS statement as saying.

The citizenship application fee would now increase from $640 to $1,170 while fees associated with legal permanent residency will go up by 79 per cent to $2,195, according to an ABC News report.

The proposed rule also outlines a series of other kinds of fee increases that impact immigration-related applications by asylum-seekers, Temporary Protected Status beneficiaries, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipients and legal permanent residents, said the report.

The Trump administration also seeks to divert $207.6 million of USCIS funding to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), it added.

The proposal now enters a public comment period that’s expected to end on December 16, after which USCIS is legally obligated to consider comments before the new rule can take effect, according to the National Partnership for New Americans, a network of immigrant advocacy organizations.

Pawan Inching Towards TDP?

Share

It is an open secret that Jana Sena Party president and actor Pawan Kalyan has been following the line of Telugu Desam Party led by N Chandrababu Naidu in attacking the YSR Congress party led by Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, though he has been trying to project himself as an independent leader.

While the TDP has extended support to Pawan Kalyan’s long march in Visakhapatnam on November 3 to highlight the sand crisis, the Jana Sena extended support to Naidu’s Sand Deeksha in Vijayawada on Thursday.

The bonhomie between Naidu and Pawan Kalyan was once again evident when the TDP chief came in support of Jana Sena chief in his speech at Vijayawada deeksha.

He said just because Pawan Kalyan had launched an agitation against sand crisis, the YSR leaders had been targeting him personally.

In an indirect reference to YSRC president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy’s comments mentioning Pawan’s polygamy, Naidu said: “Does Jagan tolerate if we make personal comments against him and his family? The YSRC leaders are launching counter-attack on those who question the government’s policies.”

And Pawan Kalyan had a hearty talk with the TDP leaders including Kesineni Nani, Varla Ramaiah, N Rama Naidu and Bhuma Akhila Priya when they came to Raj Bhavan, where he was meeting Governor Bishwabhushan Harichandan.

Nani gave a handshake to Pawan and complimented him for continuing his fight against the government despite losing the elections, unlike his brother Chiranjeevi who opted out of politics.

Pawan Kalyan also exchanged pleasantries with Akhila Priya, with whom he had acquaintance since the days of Praja Rajyam.

He advised her to face the false cases foisted against her and her husband boldly and extended his support to her.

So, what do all these developments indicate? It is anybody’s guess!

Will Prabhas Accept Dil Raju’s Offer?

Share

Tollywood’s leading producer Dil Raju has lined up many films under production but he doesn’t have a film with top stars. This has been worrying him.

In Mahesh Babu’s “Sarileru Neekevvaru”, he is one of the partners, not the main producer. Allu Arjun starrer “Icon” has been put on hold.

NTR, Ram Charan and Prabhas are busy with their respective prior assignments. So, he is desperately trying to take Prabhas and Pawan Kalyan’s movies to the sets.

Pawan Kalyan has agreed to act in the remake of “Pink” that will be produced by Dil Raju in association with Boney Kapoor. But Dil Raju will be the main producer.

However, Pawan Kalyan keeps dodging on the movie launch. He is praying that this film should go to the sets as soon as possible.

He has also got a nod from Prabhas. The ‘Mr. Perfect’ star has a special friendship with Dil Raju and he has agreed to act in his banner but story and director are very important for Prabhas. Dil Raju is now working on that.

If these two films hit the floor, Dil Raju’s stable will look impressive.
