RRR Postponement is Certain!

Share

As per the original plan, Alia Bhatt was to join the sets of Rajamouli’s magnum opus “RRR” in the first week of October. She had given the team dates accordingly. But Rajamouli canceled the shoot.

Alia Bhatt has now signed a series of movies and working without a break in about five Hindi big-ticket films. She has allotted her “RRR” dates to Bollywood movies now.

Alia is currently shooting for “Sadak 2” and “Brahmasthra” simultaneously. She will join the shoot of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s “Gangubai” next month. It will be not possible for Rajamouli to get her dates immediately.

The problem of finding Alia’s call sheets is also going to further cause the delay of the movie’s production which is already running behind the schedules.

The latest update is that Rajamouli will officially give clarity about the movie’s postponement in December.

He will get clarity in two months whether he can meet the deadline of July 30 release or not. If the film gets postponed, Alia Bhatt can leisurely give her dates to the movie.

She has been cast opposite Ram Charan in the film. He is playing the role of freedom warrior Alluri Seetharama Raju.

Set in the 1920s, the period patriotic drama also features NTR in another lead role.

First Look: Sushanth’s classy look from ‘AV’

Young hero Sushanth is playing an important role in ‘Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo’ and his look from the movie is revealed.

In formals, Sushanth is just having a causal look to the other side and it is good. This is for the first time, he is doing a supporting role and we have to see how Trivikram has shaped up his role.

Sushanth is also excited about the film and to work under Trivikram’s direction.

With ensemble cast, ‘Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo’ has Allu Arjun and Pooja Hegde in the lead roles.

The film is backed by music of Thaman and cinematography of PS Vinod.

Allu Aravind and S Radha Krishna are producing the movie slated for January 12th release.

Big stars get down to earth

Share

Ditching larger-than-life characters and unrealistic storylines, Hindi cinema superstars have undergone changes and are now focussing more on the life of the “aam aadmi” and celebrating their joys and sorrows on the big screen.

The wave of regular characters taking over the silver screen is an important change. The “boisterous” hero is now in the mood to be just a “regular” person.

Most recent to play the regular Indian on screen was A-lister Hrithik Roshan, who played the role of Patna-based mathematics genius Anand Kumar in “Super 30”.

“The change is actually is in the fact that the way we are detecting our content now. It’s becoming more real now and people are connecting to it. The melodrama is gone out even in the acting it is very real and that change is making the content seem more solid. These films now are doing really well,” Hrithik told IANS.

“So, what is going to happen is that people (filmmakers) are not going to worry about what they are making as long as the way they are presenting it is real and impactful,” he added.

Hrithik it’s a good change.

“So, a lot of different kinds of films will be made and would not run 10 years back will become super hit now. So, a lot of things open up. Many more stars will emerge. There will be a lot more hit films, lot more filmmakers who will get confidence and encouragement to make their kind of films. So, I think it is a good change,” he said.

Actor Ayushmann Khurrana made his Bollywood debut in 2012 with “Vicky Donor” and has managed to play the average Indian guy since through out portraying that which has not only earned him awards but a place in every Indian’s heart.

Ranveer Singh won the hearts of the audience with his rawness of a typical Indian boy Bittoo in his debut film “Band Baaja Baaraat” and a street rapper trying to making it big in “Gully Boy”.

Even actresses are moving away from portraying just an eye candy and are marching towards playing just a simple and regular girl on the screen.

For example, actress Bhumi Pednekar made her in 2015 with “Dum Laga Ke Haisha”, where she played a small town Indian girl named Sandhya struggling with weight issues. She then throughout played the regular relatable Indian girl in films like “Toilet: Ek Prem Katha” and “Shubh Mangal Saavdhaan”.

After which actresses like Kriti Sanon, Taapsee Pannu and Yami Gautam followed suit.

Bhumi finds it a wonderful change.

“It’s a welcoming change because people want to see stories that are happening amongst us, stories that are real. They want certain amount of relatability with what they are watching on screen because the whole fantasy genre of Bollywood has changed.

Today, a common man can aspire to do big and better and that’s the beauty of the cinema I do. It’s relatible,” Bhumi told IANS.

Some celebrities like Ranveer and Deepika Padukone seem more close to being regular because of their banter and romance-filled PDA on social media.

Actors including Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar seem like just regular daddies who flood social media with photographs of their children.

DGP Slams TDP On Political Charges

Share

When the TDP was in power, it never allowed the opposition parties to point an accusing finger at the police.

The TDP had used the police as the ruling party security wing, resorting to indiscriminate arrest of opposition leaders.

Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham was kept under house arrests for weeks together.

Then leader of Opposition Y S Jaganmohan Reddy was turned away from Visakhapatnam airport. He was not given due importance when he visited Nandigama government hospital to console the families of the bus accident.

The leaders of the Left parties were always under preventive arrest everywhere that the then chief minister Chandrababu Naidu visited.

The TDP did not allow the police to take action against the TDP candidates who pelt stones on BJP president Amit Shah’s visit to Tirupati.

They did not even allow the police to take action against those who pelted chappals on BJP AP chief Kanna Lakshminarayana.

Now, sitting in Opposition, the TDP is making political allegations. There are no house arrests or preventive arrests now.

Even the ruling party MLAs are arrested or cases are booked against them if charges are made.

Under this background, DGP Gautham Sawang made scathing attack on the TDP alleging that the Opposition party leaders were making dramas in media against the police.

“They release a letter to the media with some allegations. Then they come to me two days later and submit the letter. But, by then, the information the letter is known to the people. Is it not a big drama?” the DGP asked.

The DGP said that he is a dedicated and humble employee of the government and have no political interests or leanings and sought to advise the TDP not to make baseless comments against the police.

Will the TDP leadership learn a lesson or two from the DGP now?

Is Naidu still the darling of national media?

Share

National media has always been in favour of TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu for decades, as he knows how to manage the media bosses.

Naidu had mastered the media management over the years. He knows what the media management requires and what the journalists require.

He had mastered the art of keeping both the management and the journalists in good humour.

Recently, in September, when Chandrababu Naidu planned Chalo Atmakru (in Palnadu area of Guntur district), the national media gave wide coverage in his favour.

The English electronic media gave a live coverage of Chandrababu Naidu being kept under house arrest.

The print media had carried editorials against Jagan Mohan Reddy government at the national level.

Interestingly, almost half-a-dozen English newspapers have come up with editorials against Jagan Mohan Reddy government on the same day, as if some news feed was provided to them.

That is the power of Chandrababu Naidu in the national media management. His men in Delhi, like Kambhampati Ramamohan Rao, have been good hosts for the national media journalists once in every fortnight, for several years.

The national media benefited much during the last five years in terms of advertisement revenue.

A national PR agency, Group M, has served Chandrababu Naidu government in the last five years, attending to the “week end needs” of journalist and “advertisement needs” of the management.

That is the strength of Chandrababu Naidu. Perhaps that was the reason why he said that national media is strongly opposing Jaganmohan Reddy’s decisions, while Telugu media is afraid and silent.

Naidu made this comment at a press conference in Guntur and said he would deal with this issue at the national level with the help of the national media.

Though Jaganmohan Reddy’s orders on delegating defamation powers to the secretaries was a threat to his own yellow media, the TDP chief is trying to project it as an attack of freedom of press, which a section of the national media believes.

TRS gave up hope on Huzurnagar?

Share

Has ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) given up hope on winning the by-elections to Huzurnagar assembly seat?

The answer appears so, if one were to go by the assessment being made by political analysts. The TRS made an aggressive beginning in the campaign with senior leaders like K T Rama Rao, G Jagadish Reddy and others taking part in canvassing for party candidate S Saidi Reddy.

But the strike by the employees and workers of Telangana State Road Transport Corporation changed the scenario.

Though Saidi Reddy and the local leaders are still campaigning intensely, there has not been much support from the party top leadership.

Many ministers, who were made in-charges of the campaign have not been able to go to Huzurnagar fearing reprisal from the RTC workers.

The big blow to the TRS campaign was the cancellation of party president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s public meeting on the pretext of bad weather. This has disappointed the party cadres a lot.

Added to this, there is no cooperation from the police to the TRS this time, as had happened in the past. The Election Commission transferred Suryapet district superintendent of police and tightened the screws around the other police officials, supposedly helping the TRS.

Under EC’s directions, the police also seized huge amounts of money and liquor from the TRS supporters. They also closed down the school of a TRS leader, from where money distribution was being done.

The only hope for the TRS is a split in the anti-government votes between the Congress and the BJP. Since the saffron party also has taken the elections seriously, the urban vote might be split and it will ultimately benefit the TRS, the party leaders are calculating.

Well, anything might happen in politics!

Differences in KCR cabinet over RTC strike?

Share

There are serious differences within the council of ministers of Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao over the way he is dealing with the ongoing strike of Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) employees.

This was revealed, not by the TRS leaders, but by firebrand Pradesh Congress Committee working president A Revanth Reddy.

“There is a split in the TRS cabinet over the RTC strike. It is evident from the way only some ministers, who had never been with the Telangana movement, are talking while many others who are sincere to the Telangana cause have remained tight-lipped,” Revanth said.

Revanth said that the Huzurnagar by-election will direct the future of the Telangana amidst the RTC strike.

He lashed out at the ruling party as to why it was speaking about RTC merger with government and why not its privatisation when both were not included in the manifesto.

He further asked the government to explain as to why it is collecting 27 per cent fuel tax for TSRTC and one per cent from air services.

Revanth also said that KCR does not have the power to dismiss RTC employees. He is responsible for the suicide of RTC employees, the Congress leader alleged.
