Harish Rao declines Ministry?
Hyderabad: After the recent setback in the Lok Sabha polls in which TRS lost 7 seats to the Congress and BJP, TRS leader KCR realised the importance of Harish Rao and his foolishness in not giving him greater responsibilities during the polls.
Harish was made responsible for Medak alone and he ensured the TR candidate won comfortably.
Apparently, KCR has had a rethink on the matter of sidelining Harish Rao and grapevine has it that KCR oared Harish a Ministry in his cabinet.
But Harish Rao politely declined the offer for reasons best known to him.
Maybe, by declining the Ministry, Harish was reassuring KCR that he had no intention of emerging as a parallel power structure in future to KTR.
Prabhas Is The Baahubali Even Without Rajamouli!
Prabhas’s Baahubali is still on top in terms of box office returns while other superstars are fighting for Non-Baahubali records.
If Saaho lives up to the expectations, then it will become highly difficult for other heroes to achieve Non-Baahubali records too.
Although Saaho doesn’t have Rajamouli at the helm, it is getting lucrative offers from all corners.
Going by the current trend, Saaho theatrical rights for Telugu States itself would fetch around Rs. 110 Cr to Rs. 120 Cr, which is miles ahead of other biggies.
Saaho Telugu version’s worldwide theatrical rights would easily fetch Rs. 150 Cr according to trade pundits. This shows the trust and expectations on the movie.
Fans of other superstars give away the credit of Baahubali records to Rajamouli, but Saaho is going to show how big a star is Prabhas compared to his contemporaries.
Saaho achieving breakeven status itself will set a bar for other biggies that are still struggling to cross Rs. 100 Cr mark.
There is unprecedented craze for Saaho in other languages too and we are not even talking about the business that it is going to do in other states.
Directed by Sujeeth, Saaho is gearing up for August 15 release. The film is bankrolled by UV Creations and features Shraddha Kapoor as its female lead.

Venkatesh Keen To Romance Young Actress!
Venkatesh is flying high post the blockbuster success of F2. Usually, a film’s success credit is shared by the key members of its cast and crew. But Venkatesh gets the lion share in success credit of F2.
His inimitable comic timing and performance as a frustrated husband was fun to watch. No wonder producers are looking for scripts to rope in Venkatesh in such relatable comic roles.
The veteran is not in a hurry though. He is being very selective with his script choices. He has only signed for Venky Mama post F2. He will be teaming up with his nephew Naga Chaitanya in it.
Meanwhile, there is buzz about Venkatesh’s interest in recently released Bollywood comedy De De Pyaar De.
Ajay Devgn played a peculiar role of a fifty year old divorcee who falls in love with a young lady (Rakul Preet) half his age.
The plot and characterization of the protagonist will suit Venky’s image. Hence, Venkatesh and his brother Suresh Babu are reportedly contemplating a remake.

We shouldn’t give up on #MeToo: Taapsee
Actress Taapsee Pannu says people must not stop raising their voice against sexual harassment at workplace and continue the #MeToo movement.
Her comment comes just two days after director Vikas Bahl was given a clean chit after an allegation of sexual misconduct made against him by a former employee of the now disbanded Phantom Films, was probed, and his credit as director of “Super 30” was restored.
Even actor Alok Nath, who was accused of rape by a writer-director, has appeared in the film “De De Pyaar De”.
Asked how she looks at the situation, Taapsee told IANS: “Look, if the person who is accused of sexual harassment, doesn’t get punished, of course the spirit of the movement, the spirit of a woman who comes out with the story of abuse in public, gets shattered.
“However, that should not stop other girls from raising their voices if they are abused…because girls have stayed silent for ages.
“We all can see how a collective consciousness has come into the picture since the #MeToo movement started. Nothing will change overnight, but we should not give up on the situation and tolerate abuse.”
Taapsee, who has been vocal about women empowerment, said it takes a lot of time to break the momentum in such matters.
“Obstacles will come, but we should not give up. This is a transformative time and therefore it is difficult but if we do not continue, the change will not come in future,” added the “Pink” actress.
NRI Woman Jailed For Strangling Stepdaughter In US
NEW YORK: An Indian-origin woman in the US has been sentenced to 22 years in prison for strangling her nine-year-old stepdaughter to death, a crime described as “unimaginable” by the court.
Shamdai Arjun, 55, from Queens, New York was convicted last month of second-degree murder by a jury that deliberated for less than one hour before Queens Supreme Court Justice Kenneth Holder. She was sentenced Monday to an indeterminate term of 22 years to life in prison.
“The defendant in this case goes beyond the tales of evil stepmothers. This defendant committed the unimaginable – she wrapped her hands around her stepdaughter’s little neck and squeezed the life out of her,” Acting Queens District Attorney John Ryan said in a harsh statement after the verdict.
“The victim was an innocent child and just nine years old. The Court has imposed a sentence that will likely guarantee this woman never sees freedom again. The sentence of the Court is more than warranted in this tragic case,” Mr Ryan said.
According to trial testimony, on the evening of August 19, 2016, she was observed by an eyewitness leaving her apartment in Queens along with her ex-husband Raymond Narayan, and her two grandchildren aged 3 and 5. When asked about the nine-year-old victim’s whereabouts, she informed the eyewitness that the child was in the bathroom and was waiting for her father to pick her up.
The eyewitness, who observed that the bathroom light had been on for several hours, called the girl’s father Sukhjinder Singh and was instructed to break through the bathroom door. He found the child’s naked body in the bathtub. There were several bruises on her body.
A report filed by the Medical Examiner’s Office determined that the cause of death was manual strangulation.
In 2016, Queens Assistant District Attorney Michael Curtis had said that the woman repeatedly threatened to kill the young girl.
Naidu left BJP not for SCS but for PM post!
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP national president Amit Shah reportedly shared their views on what led to the humiliating downfall of TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu in recent Assembly and Lok Sabha polls in Andhra Pradesh.
During the first cabinet meeting held by PM Modi in Delhi two days ago after assuming office for the second term, Modi referred to Chandrababu’s issue when the issue of present politics came up for discussion in the meeting.
Modi told ministers that Naidu left NDA just before general elections not because of his demand for granting special category status (SCS) to Andhra Pradesh, but because of his ‘over ambition’ to become Prime Minister of the country with the support of Congress and regional parties.
Modi reportedly said, “Everyone thinks that Naidu left us because we have not accepted his demand to grant SCS for AP. When I inquired deep into Naidu’s issue, I found that he left us to become PM with a hope that BJP will not get required majority and he can become PM with the support of Congress and regional parties.”
Responding to this, Amit Shah is learnt to have said, “I know Naidu did all this to become PM. Now look where he is? He is not even CM now. It’s not wrong to have ambitions. But one should not be over ambitious. Becoming PM for Naidu is beyond his capacity.”
Both the leaders reportedly told ministers that to cover up his ambition, Naidu enacted SCS drama in the last minute after sailing with BJP for over four years to come out of NDA with a dream of becoming PM.
They said Naidu now ended up as “na ghar ka, na ghat ka’.
