All The Happening Beauties Rejected Akhil?

Share

Finding the right heroine is always key for love stories and romantic comedies to succeed at the box office. And young hero Akhil Akkineni who has romanced beautiful ladies like Sayyesha Saigal, Kalyani Priyadarshan and Nidhie Aggerwal is now finding it difficult to get a heroine aboard.

For the recently launched movie of Akhil, which is being directed by Bommarillu Bhaskar, it’s becoming tough to get a star heroine. Initially, they thought of roping in Rashmika Mandanna for the leading lady’s role, but somehow things didn’t work. Later the names of Pooja Hegde, Kiara Advani and Priyanka Jawalkar are heard, but none came aboard.

Reports are coming that all these happening beautes are actually looking forward to signing big heroes like Allu Arjun and Jr NTR but not this young hero who is struggling to deliver his frist hit. For that reason actually Geetha Arts is hunting for a fresh face to be brought in.

Already a team of Geetha is in Mumbai, auditioning few heroines and if everything goes well they will announce the name next week.

Film City In Vizag- Another Rumour?

Share

Ever since YS Jagan’s YSR Congress registered a thumping victory in Andhra Pradesh, there is a talk that the new Chief Minister will be focussing on bringing ‘Tollywood’ to Vizag as well. Though there is Suresh Babu’s Ramanaidu Studios in Vizag, actually Tollywood is based out of Hyderabad only.

Reports are coming that few biggies from Telugu industry have already met YS Jagan, who has a plan that a big film city, which is something bigger and affordable than Ramoji Film City should be built in Vizag as well. If that happens, many films will get shot there and that might lead to the development of another parallel Telugu industry there.

However, sources in YSR Congress have ruled out all these possibilities as Jagan don’t want to think about Film Industry until he fulfils his Navaratnalu promises. Though some film celebs who backed Jagan and blasted the likes of Naidu and Pawan have already submitted their ideas to the AP CM designate, he will be looking into them only at a later point of time. So for now, Film City in Vizag is just a rumour.

After Defeat, Nara Lokesh Responds

Responding to the poll drubbing, former minister Nara Lokesh said he will work harder than before and said he would interact with people more. Lokesh thanked all the party workers, activists for their support. Lokesh said his words, stand are not changed irrespective of his defeat in Mangalagiri.

“During the election campaign, I had stated that Mangalagiri Assembly constituency is my home and the people there are my family members. I went to home to home and door to door and told them that I will be with them even if I win or lose. There is no change in this. People might not have voted for me, but I stand by what I had said during the campaign. Then or now or anytime, you (people of Mangalagiri) are all my family members. Doors of my house are always open for you. Be it any hardship or difficulty or celebration or happiness, my journey is with you. I’m one among you,” Lokesh wrote on his micro-blogging page.

Lokesh indicated that Mangalagiri will remain his constituency. Lokesh has asked the party workers and leaders to not fear. After analysing the results, he said the future course of action will be prepared. He added that TDP’s support is there for all the party leaders, workers.

‘Selfie with Jagan’ strategy worked in a big way

Share

YSR Congress registered a resounding victory in the recently held Assembly polls by winning 151 of the total 175 MLA seats in the state. The victory can be attributed to his Praja Sankalpa Yatra, as part of which he reached every nook and corner of the state to know about people’s problems and the election strategy chalked out by political consultant Prashant Kishore.

PK’s I-PAC team had been with Jagan throughout the 3,000 plus-km padayatra giving him suggestions to win the hearts of the voters. The election team chalked out action plan to translate the respect people had towards Jagan into votes and the first to be mentioned in this is the ‘Selfie with Jagan’ strategy.

All through his mega walkathon , Jagan greeted people with affection and spoke to them affectionately. These apart, he also posed for selfies with whoever asked him and this definitely had paid off Jagan as the voters developed some connect with him through the personal interaction. The selfies consolidated the soft corner towards him which helped him get voted to power in the polls.

Jagan had been very patient with the people throughout the walkathon and obliged to people’s requests for selfies with him. The importance they had been given at that moment and the memorable gift he had given them in the form of a selfie made the people more than happy what with many of them posting the selfies on the social media and claiming to have rubbed shoulders with a important politician.

Selfies had an infectious effect with more and more people thronging Jagan for selfies on seeing their neighbours and kin striking a pose with the YSRC leader. The selfies not only drew the people closer to him but also helped in giving publicity to the YSRCP.

When few people gathered near Jagan, he would then begin speaking of his Navaratnalu scheme through which he aims to bring in inclusive development. In this manner, he gave the required publicity to his scheme without much effort and expenditure.

At the same time, Jagan also raised the issue of unkept promises by the TDP chief which could have had an impact on the voters. Though Jagan put in all these efforts for the votes, he did it tactfully and ensured that it did not appear as publicity for the YSRCP.

Celebs Defeated Pawan Kalyan, What Next?

Share

The moment Pawan Kalyan blasted something in his campaign, various Tollywood celebrities who are either close to him or close to the mega family have actually come down heavily on him. Including the likes of Posani Krishnamurali, writers Chinni Krishna and Kona Venkat, and some other small time celebs have blasted the Janasena president with their choice of words.

Now that PK has lost big time in the election, failing to win himself at both the constituencies, these celebrities will have a moral upper hand over the powerful star of Telugu cinema. Except a few, most of them are feeling that they have defeated Pawan Kalyan with their virtues. Well, in that case, what are these celebs going to do now?

Writer Posani spoke very good of Pawan Kalyan saying that he is a man of good intention but lost due to joining hands with bad forces like Chandrababu Naidu. And we have to see how others will respond on this major flop show of Janasena in the election. Now that their job is done, will these celebs get some gifts and profits? Or will it be the usual business for them? Except for Posani, rest of the celebs are workless so far in Tollywood. Pch!

First Wicket Down: Raghavendra Rao Resigns

Share

Veteran director K Raghavendra Rao has offered resignation for the nominated post he got in the previous TDP government. He tendered resignation as chairperson of SVBC TV, the devotional channel.

Sri Venkateswara Bhakthi Channel aka SVBC is a devotional channel that is being run by Tirumala Tirupati Devsathanam (TTD).

As K Raghavendra Rao is die-hard fan of Telugu Desam party and also did several political ads for the party in his hey days, Chandrababu Naidu nominated him as the chairperson for the channel.

Soon after YS Jagan romped to the power, K Raghavendra Rao has decided to step down. However, he cited the reason for his resignation as his age is not permitting him to work.

TRS leader’s supporter dies of shock over her defeat

Share

Hyderabad: Disheartened by the defeat of Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao’s daughter K. Kavitha in the Lok Sabha elections, one of her supporters died of shock, TRS leaders said on Monday.

Kishore, a Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) worker, died of cardiac arrest on Saturday in his village Manchikappa in Nizamabad district.

Following Kavitha’s defeat from the Nizamabad Lok Sabha constituency, Kishore had stopped sleeping and eating, according to the party leaders.

Kavitha on Monday visited Kishore’s house and assured full support to the family from the party.

The TRS leader appealed to party workers and her supporters not to lose heart as defeat and victory were part of the democratic process.

The former MP said workers were the strength of the party and they should face the situation with courage.

Kavitha, who was elected from Nizamabad in 2014, assured the people that she will continue to work for them.

Kavitha was defeated by the Bharatiya Janata Party’s D. Arvind by over 71,000 votes.

Party leaders said her prospects were marred by the entry of a record number of candidates including 178 farmers who wanted to highlight their problems like lack of remunerative prices for turmeric and red jowar.

The constituency also hit the national headlines as the Election Commission used a record number of Electronic Voting Machines to facilitate polling.

Stephen Ravindra to be AP intelligence chief?

Share

Senior IPS officer Stephen Ravindra, considered to be one of the most efficient and toughest police officials in Telangana, is going to be the new Intelligence chief of Andhra Pradesh.

Interestingly, Ravindra had opted for Telangana as part of division of bureaucrats and police officials between two Telugu states post-bifurcation of combined Andhra Pradesh.

Reason was simple: he did not want to work under the rule of former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

He enjoyed different positions in Telangana and is presently working as Inspector General of Police in Hyderabad Range.

He has also been appointed as the special officer of Special Investigation Team into the data theft case involving IT Grids Private Ltd and Telugu Desam Party.

During the Congress regime between 2004 and 2009, he was the Chief Security Officer to former Chief Minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy and is said to be closer to YSR family.

While in Telangana, he played crucial role in controlling Naxalism and in Rayalaseema, he crushed the factional feuds with iron hand.

He is known for commitment and dedication in his work as well as one of the most talented officers.

Now that YSR’s son Y S Jagamohan Reddy has become the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, Ravindra made a request to the Telangana government that he be transferred to the neighbouring state.

In all probability, Ravindra will be relived in a week or two, after getting permission from the Centre.

US starts process to ban work permits for H-1B spouses

Share

New Delhi: In a move that may affect thousands of H-1B visa holders and their families in the US, the Donald Trump administration has started the process to ban work permits for spouses of H-1B visa holders

On May 22, the US government issued a notice for the proposed rule-making that will kick in public consultations to ban the H-4 EAD (Employment Authorisation Document), a work visa programme launched by the previous Obama administration to leverage skilled spouses of H-1B visa holders and address skill shortage in the technology domain, the Economic Times said in a report.

While explaining its reasons for the proposal, the Department of Homeland Security wrote that American citizens would benefit “by having a better chance at obtaining jobs that some of the population of the H-4 workers currently hold”, the ET report mentioned.

Since 2015, nearly 1.2 lakh H4 EAD visas have been issued. Indians, largely female engineers, have been the biggest beneficiaries of this visa programme by taking over 90% of these 1.2 lakh visas.

The Trump administration had first indicated the scrapping of the programme in February last year. Even if this proposal goes through, it would take a while for it to actually take effect, said, policy watchers.

The ET report citing Rajiv S Khanna, managing attorney at immigration law firm Immigration.com, said it could take as much as a year for the visa programme to get scrapped.

“The process is currently at the second last stage. Once it is approved here, it will be posted in the federal register and people will have 30 or 60 days to post comments, following which the regulation will be made final,” said Khanna.

The administration is obligated to comment before publishing and implementing the final rule, a process that could take several months, he added.

Since Donald Trump became President in 2017, the US has tightened immigration rules across the board. The biggest that has affected India is the tightening of the H-1B visa programme for IT services companies in favour of US technology companies.

The US has brought in rules that give preference to candidates with US Master’s degrees for H-1B visas, helping US companies, while increasing the rejections for existing visa holders who seek extension for another three years. Nearly 70% of the H-1B visas are granted to Indian nationals.

Experts say a fallout of the scrapping of the H4 EAD visa would be a shortage of talent for US tech firms as these families are likely to return to India, she said.

While most tech firms have increased their local hiring in the US, it has been difficult to find people, given the low unemployment rates coupled with a shortage in the number of people with the kind of skills required. If an employee’s spouse can no longer pursue a career in the US, it would lead to more people turning down US postings, said analysts.

Jagan should not fall in KCR’s trap!

Share

YSRCP chief and AP Chief Minister designate YS Jagan Mohan Reddy received an unprecedented welcome from TRS chief and Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao at Pragathi Bhavan on Saturday.

KCR and his entire family members waited at the portico even before Jagan arrived there to welcome him, which is unusual by any sorts.

No one should have any objection over Jagan meeting KCR to invite him to attend his swearing-in ceremony as CM-designate of neighbouring Telugu State.

But KCR is famous for ‘cunning politics’. He takes no time in ‘ditching’ others for his selfish political gains.

KCR is also famous for mesmerising anyone with honey coated words, huggings, dinners etc.

If today, KCR extended grand welcome to Jagan at Pragathi Bhawan, it was only because of Jagan defeating his arch rival Chandrababu Naidu in Andhra Pradesh.

It is also because Jagan has closed his party in Telangana and not contesting any elections in Telangana since GHMC elections in 2016.

AP still has several contentious bifurcation related issues with Telangana.

Thousands of crores of assets owned by common institutions in Hyderabad are yet to be bifurcated between Telangana and Andhra.

Can Jagan expect to get same welcome from KCR, if he demands AP’s share in assets in Hyderabad?

Can Jagan expect the same treatment from KCR, if he restores YSRCP in Telangana and starts contesting elections against TRS?

Anyone can easily say ‘no’ to these questions.

KCR is famous for ‘use and through policy’. He used Congress, BJP, TDP, TJAC, Telangana employees unions, civil organisations during Telangana statehood agitation and shunned them after he became CM.

Leave about political parties, he even adopted ‘use and throw’ policy in case of T.Harish Rao, who worked day and night for building TRS in Telangana and bringing the party to power in Telangana.

Jagan should not forget that he was attacked by TRS leaders and activists with stones in Manukota in Warangal district in May 2010, to obstruct his Odarpu Yatra. Jagan was forced to cancel his Odarpu Yatra in Telangana.

Jagan should not forget KCR’s abusive words against his father YS Rajasekhar Reddy, during Telangana statehood agitation and even after becoming Telangana CM.

As Telangana CM, KCR described YSR as ‘durmargudu’ in Assembly and also as ‘thief’ who stole Telangana water to Seemandhra.

Jagan can meet KCR. But it should be only CM-to-CM and government-to-government relations and nothing more than that.

If Jagan tries to move closer beyond this, KCR will be always ready to ‘trap’ him and everyone knows what would be the outcome if anyone falls in “KCR’s trap”.

Dubai-based Indian names newborn son ‘Narendra Modi’

Share

Dubai: A Dubai-based Indian expat has named his newborn son Narendra Damodardas Modi, as an honour to the Indian Prime Minister’s resounding victory in the recently concluded general elections, the media reported on Monday.

Originally from Uttar Pradesh, Mustaq Ahmed, who works as a maintenance staff in an interior decor company in Hatta, about 130 km from Dubai, decided to name his son after Modi because he was born on May 23, the same day the Prime Minister won the Lok Sabha elections with a thumping majority for a second term.

“I wish (Prime Minister) Modi will come down to our village in Uttar Pradesh to see my little Modi and bless him. It will be a great honour for my son and our family,” Ahmed told The Khaleej Times on Sunday.

“When my wife called me with the good news on May 23, I asked her whether Narendra Modi had won the elections. Then I told her ‘Desh mein Modi agaya. Hamare ghar main bhi Modi agaya. (Modi has come in the country. And Modi has arrived in our home too).

“We are impressed by what our Prime Minister has done for the country in the last five years. I wish my son will also do good work and earn a solid reputation like our Prime Minister,” the 29-year-old expat added.

The baby was born in Ahmed’s village in Uttar Pradesh and Ahmed is yet to meet him.

He said his newborn was already winning hearts as people in the neighborhood were all coming to see him.

“I am sure people will keep teasing by calling him ‘Modi, Modi’. But when he grows up, no one will dare mess with him because he is Narendra Modi,” he added.
