TV9’s former CEO Ravi Prakash has opened up on his fall out with new management Alanda Media Group Entertainment and the consequences that led to his termination as the CEO of the channel. Ravi Prakash alleged that Jupally Rameshwar Rao & his family members who own 62 percent of Alanda Media were behind and alleged them of trying to take control over TV9’s editorial content.

Revanth Reddy’s IT Raids

Ravi Prakash said in September 2018 when IT raids were conducted on Revanth Reddy, he was in the US and he said he had received a call from his newsroom in Hyderabad alleging that Rameshwar Rao’s son and brother were there dictating the editorial team on how to cover the news. Ravi Prakash alleged that Rameshwar Rao and family wanted to use the “IT Raids” on Revanth to “defame” and to “finish his reputation”. Ravi Prakash said he and his team had opposed to it then. He further claimed that he was invited to Jupally Rameshwar Rao’s house later and when he had went, he alleged that Rameshwar Rao wanted him to constitute an editorial committee. Ravi Prakash claimed he had opposed to it as Rameshwar Rao wants to monitor and to take over “editorial content” of TV9.

Intermediate Results – Students Suicides

Ravi Prakash said things got worsen when news of over 20 students committing suicide broke out after an alleged “goof-up” in Telangana Intermediate Results 2019 announced by Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education. Ravi Prakash claimed that Jupally Rameshwar Rao was upset with a story aired by TV9 on students suicides questioning the “faulty” system. Ravi Prakash said he had only found fault with the “system”, but not “Telangana state government”. According to Ravi Prakash, Rameshwar Rao doesn’t want any news story against Telangana state government and that’s what led to his removal as the channel CEO.

Backdoor Entry

Ravi Prakash alleged the editorial interference of Rameshwar Rao & aides in TV9. He said he had been opposing their interference in editorial content. He also claimed that he had opposed Rameshwar Rao’s entry into TV9 when he had tried to buy TV9 in 2016 citing his equation with CM KCR and Chinna Jeeyar Swamy fearing that he could influence the editorial with his “biases”. Ravi Prakash alleged that Rameshwar Rao had entered into TV9 in a “backdoor” way through Alanda. Ravi Prakash said he doesn’t know that Rameshwar Rao was behind Alanda and owns majority stake in Alanda until two days before the closure of the deal.

Overall, Ravi Prakash claims innocence in the whole fiasco and alleges back on the new management and the people behind for the fall out. Let’s see how the whole issue is going to turn out.

Janasena will win 90 seats: Super Comedy by Aadi!

With Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena in election fray, one can buy the fact that there is a triangular fight in some constituencies of AP and nothing beyond that. But then, some strong supporters of Jana Sena Party are assuming and expressing that their party would form government by exceeding the magic figure.

It is known that Jabardasth team members have widely toured AP in support of Pawan’s party and also conducted door-to-door campaign for Naga Babu in Narsapuram. Hyper Aadi, star comedian of the show, is an active participant of Jana Sena activities. Now that election results are around the corner, Hyper Aadi made some comments ‘that are far from reality’, according to political pundits. He stated that Jana Sena will win 90 assembly seats in Andhra Pradesh.

Recently, Aadi said: “As part of my election campaign, I’ve toured several parts of AP. During that time, I had an opportunity to witness a huge positive wave for Jana Sena among AP people. The change they want is only possible with JSP. I have seen people believe in Pawan’s leadership and their trust on him will convert into voters.”

Aadi further said he wanted to see Pawan Kalyan as CM and exuded confidence that Jana Sena will emerge victorious in 90 assembly seats. Given the two strong and established opponents in the form of TDP and YSRCP, Hyper Aadi claiming 90 seats for JSP would do nothing but generate some comedy like his skits in Jabardasth. Even when Pawan Kalyan and top brass of the party are hesitated to predict or speak about their tally, Aadi’s statement is not worth bothering about.

More than a month after polling and a week before counting of votes for AP Assembly elections, the pro-TDP ‘yellow media’ seems to have realised that YSRCP wil come to power in AP and Jagan will be the next CM of AP.

ABN-Andhra Jyothy group chairman Vemuri Radhakrishna has changed his pro-TDP stand and started writing annd publishing about YSRCP victory.

The Andhra edition of Andhra Jyothy newspaper today carried a banner story on Main Page 1 saying that YSRCP government has to spend Rs 56,000 crore to implement its poll promises,

This news report gives clear hints that Andhra Jyothy too beieves TDP will lose Assembly polls and YSRCP will win.

This news report says the finance department officials have already started working out modalities on the implementation of Jagan’s poll promises and assessed the amount of additional burden it will impose on state exchequer if Jagan starts implemeting his poll promises from June.

So, ABN Andhra Jyothy group seems to be slowly accepting the reality.

Maharshi: Huge Collections in First Week

Despite mixed reviews and average word-of-mouth, Mahesh Babu took his 25th film to winning post in the first week.

The film has ended its first week on glorious note as the film became all-time fourth biggest grosser in Tollywood so far. The first week collected Rs 58.17 Cr.

Ceded area underperforming was the reason for it ending up as fourth highest grosser. Or it would have got more than what “Rangasthalam” had received in its first week.

After Baahubali 2 (Rs 117 Cr), Baahubali 1 (Rs 61 Cr) and Rangasthalam (Rs 58.40 Cr), Mahesh Babu’s Maharshi stands as the fourth biggest hit in the first week.

Mahesh Babu didn’t sit quietly when the talk was average, he went all his way out to promote it aggressively and this helped the film achieving this number.

Will KCR, Jagan attend Sonia meeting?

A report that appeared in a popular English daily that former Congress president and United Progressive Alliance chairperson Sonia Gandhi had invited Telugu Desam Party, YSR Congress party and Telangana Rashtra Samiti along with other non-BJP parties for a dinner meeting in New Delhi on May 23 created ripples in political circles.

The meeting was reportedly called for to discuss the possibility of a non-Bharatiya Janata Party government at the Centre, after watching the results to be declared on May 23.

The report, on the face of it, appears to be purely speculative and far-fetched, as nobody knows what the outcome of the elections would be. If at all Sonia extends any such invitation, she would do it in the afternoon of May 23, when the trends would be clear.

The meeting can be held a day later, not necessarily on the same night.

Secondly, there are inherent contradiction within the report. How can TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu and YSRC president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy will attend the same meeting? For that matter, will KCR attend a meeting in which Naidu is present?

If the Congress admits YSRC and the TRS into the coalition, Naidu will opt of it. And other parties like Mamata or Samajwadi Party might be interested in losing Naidu.

If Congress wants to negotiate with Jagan and KCR, it will do it separately and not when Naidu is present.

In any case, if the reports are true, both TRS and YSRC prefer to join the NDA bandwagon, rather than the Congress, say analysts.

Moreover, the Congress knows if it ropes KCR and YSRC into the coalition, it would mean the party has lost hopes of recovering in the Telugu states and it amounts to admitting that the Congress will play second fiddle to these parties in their respective states!

Firebrand Teja Mellows Down!

Director Teja often branded as firebrand director has suddenly become diplomatic. Contrary to his nature, the director is not making wild comments on anyone.

In a recent TV interview, he said didn’t beat Kajal Aggarwal or Bellamkonda Sai Srinivas during the shoot of “Sita”.

In the past, several actors levelled allegations that he slapped on their faces when they didn’t give required expression during the filming process. Teja seems to have mellowed down in life.

The most surprising admission was that he walked out of NTR Biopic project because he felt he couldn’t do justice to the movie. The explanation he gave was lame excuse. He is clearly being diplomatic now.

Now that NTR Biopic movies bombed at the box-office, he doesn’t want to add salt to injury and irritate Balakrishna further.

People close to the developments say, Teja walked out from the project as he had huge creative differences with Nandamuri Balakrishna.

Balayya wanted to don various getups of the characters that his father NT Rama Rao portrayed in his long career to which Teja objected.

Teja wanted to explore more about NTR’s lesser-known off-screen life. This led to differences between them. But Teja is putting blame on himself for the walkout, obviously not to rub Balakrishna on the wrong side.

As they say, once you hit 50 (Teja is now in his early 50’s), you lose fire and gain more patience.

Boyapati Srinu Left Empty Handed

Boyapati is looking to rope in a fairly new actor for his next. But who will come forward to pool money bags for the director who cannot make movies on a low budget?

Having solo release date of 17th May and fun filled content in the trailer, ABCD movie has garnered good buzz among movie buffs.

Trade is surprised with the advance bookings opened for this movie at Hyderabad multiplexes today.

Filmnagar circles say that moviegoers are looking for comedy and entertaining movies in this summer season after watching serious and emotional movies like Majili, Jersey and Maharshi.

Another factor for this could be completion of IPL season and people are looking for movie entertainment.

Ramoji invited KCR, too, for lunch?

The sudden visit of Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu to Ramoji Film City for a luncheon meeting with media Mughal Ch Ramoji Rao on Wednesday afternoon triggered various speculations.

Naidu came to RFC at 11.45 and returned to Amaravati by 2.45. So, he spent less than one and a half hours at Ramoji Rao’s residence.

He had a brief discussion with Ramoji Rao over lunch there. Obviously, both of them had discussed the political situation in AP and the country after May 23.

However, reports that surfaced later indicated that Ramoji Rao had also called Telangana Rahstra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to the luncheon meeting with Chandrababu Naidu.

This has created a lot of curiosity in the media circles. If the reports are true, then the media baron made an attempt to bring both the TDP and TRS presidents together for a compromise, since both of them might have to work together if they join the Congress-led coalition at the Centre.

However, enquiries revealed that KCR has not gone to Ramoji Film City for the lunch hosted by Ramoji Rao. May be, he had politely rejected the lunch offer.

Obviously, KCR is not willing to join hands with Naidu at this stage, since both of them had drawn swords against each other in the last six months.

Moroever, KCR openly announced his political affiliation with YSR Congress party and so, he cannot dump Jaganmohan Reddy at this stage and join hands with the latter’s enemy.

May be equations will change subsequently in the coming days!
