Star director AR Murugadoss is helming this high octane action entertainer. Rajini will be playing the role of a cop in the movie. Apparently, he will be seen as a ruthless encounter specialist. ALready, the film has completed a couple of schedules in Mumbai. Nayanthara is playing the female lead in it.

Prateik Babbar and Nivetha Thomas will be seen in other key roles. The team will start the next schedule in Chennai, by the end of this month. Darbar is being produced by Lyca Productions. Anirudh Ravi Chander is scoring the music.

Senior actress Tabu has made a striking comeback last year with Andhadhun. The dark comedy thriller went on to become a blockbuster and also brought a lot of accolades to Tabu’s performance. She will be next seen in De De Pyar De, which is slated to release this Friday.

Speaking in a recent interview, Tabu said that she is happy with the roles she is getting according to her age. She added that her game has just begun. She is also trying to juggle with versatile roles rather than being monotonous in the selection. In De De Payar De, she will be seen as the wife of Ajay Devgan.

Meanwhile, Tabu is also getting busier down the South as she is all set to make her comeback into Telugu cinema with upcoming Allu Arjun- Trivikram’s film. She will be playing a key role in it. It is also being heard that she has signed Rana Daggubati’s Virata Parvam. Overall, Tabu has become quite busy these days.

Apart from the fact that NTR has become the face of OTTO, what intrigued the audience is the look of him in the ad. We all know that NTR is currently acting in Rajamouli’s RRR. Till now, he stayed away from media most of the time to not reveal his look. But his look in the ad seems to be a similar one of him in the film.

He bulked up his body and is seen in a rugged look sporting a slightly long hair. NTR is playing the role of Komarum Bheem in RRR. So, the actor needs to seen in a fit look to reprise the role of such a great leader and NTR seems to have perfected that look.

Rajamouli Appreciates Kalakeya New Look

Actor Prabhakar made his debut as a villain with Rajamouli’s directorial Maryada Ramanna. That film gave a good launch pad in the Telugu film industry. But, later on, he was stuck in the stereotypic negative roles in various movies until Rajamouli came up for his rescue.

The ace filmmaker gave Prabhakar a chance to act a terrifying role of Kalakeya in the magnum opus Baahubali. Even Prabhakhar impressed with his deadly looks, villainous antics and especially with the language of Kiliki. That one film got him a pan-Indian reputation.

Now, he is acting in a Kannada film called Bicchugatti, which features Rajvardhan in the lead role. Hari Santosh is directing this two-part film. The look of Prabhakar from the film was released recently, and Rajamouli was impressed with it. Apparently, he felt that the actor got another befitting role. Hope Telugu makers also give him some unique roles in future.

Re-polling in 5 more AP booths on May 19

Five polling booths in Andhra Pradesh will go for re-polling on May 19, when last phase of elections will be held in different parts of the country.The Election Commission of India on Wednesday issued a communication, calling for re-polling in five polling stations in Chandragiri assembly constituency in Chittoor district.

The re-polling will be held in Kammapalli, N R Kammapalle, Pulivarthipalli, Kothakandriga and Venkatrama Puram villages from 7 am to 6 pm.

The decision to conduct re-polling was taken on the basis of a report submitted by chief electoral officer Gopala Krishna Dwivedi, following complaints from YSR Congress party candidate Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy, who alleged that a section of voters were not allowed to cast their votes in some villages.

Simultaneously, Telugu Desam Party state unit president Kala Venkat Rao also alleged that there were large scale electoral malpractices during the polling held on April 11.

The EC already conducted re-polling in five other polling stations in three districts of Guntur, Nellore and Prakasam of Andhra Pradesh on May 6.

Opinion: The Struggles Of Blockbuster Directors

Few films turn out to be such a big hits that the directors of those films will be in high demand. However, if a flop film follows that blockbuster hit, then their career will be pushed into the doldrums. Right now there are a bunch of such directors doing rounds in Tollywood for a hero.

Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada is such a hit that VI Anand became a sought after the director who went on to direct Allu Sirish’s Okka Kshanam. The film hasn’t worked however and since then Anand struggled to get a film and is still struggling with Raviteja’s Disco Raja. Director Chandu Mondeti whose Karthikeya and Premam are super hits has actually delivered Savyasachi only to sabotage his opportunities. His next is yet to take off.

After the super success of films like Soggade Chinni Nayana and Rarandoi Veduka Choodam, director Kalyan Krishna Kurasala delivered super duper flop Nela Ticket and is movie-less since then. While Ghazi is a path breaking film, Antariksham is such a dud that director Sankalp Reddy is yet to find a hero for his next.

That’s the story of blockbuster directors who are struggling and maybe we could add seniors like Puri Jagan, VV Vinayak, Sreenu Vaitla, Boyapati Sreenu as well to this list. They have once delivered blockbusters, but right now struggling to find heroes for their next films.

Later the remuneration rumours of Pooja came out and another rumours started circulating that she’s out of the film. So what now?

Apparently, some reports are coming out that Pooja Hegde is very much part of the film and she’s not going to play the heroine as rumoured to be. She’s said to have got paired with Tamil hero Atharva Murali in this movie. That is surely a stunner because such a costly and happening heroine not paired with the lead guy is something that gives you a shocker.

On the other hand, director Harish Shankar is making lot of changes to original Jigarthanda to make Varun Tej a hero in the movie, as he’s actually playing the role of Bobby Simha but not the one played by Siddharth in this film.

Sacked chief executive officer of popular television news channel TV9 V Ravi Prakash on Wednesday could not get anticipatory bail from the high court to avoid being arrested by the Hyderabad police in connection with the forgery and criminal conspiracy case filed by the channel’s new management.

The court said it was too early for Ravi Prakash to seek the bail and if really thinks he could be arrested, he could approach the court again.

It would mean Ravi Prakash is now compelled to appear before the police for questioning with regard to the notice issued to him under Section 41-A of criminal procedure code.

Interestingly, even as the Hyderabad police said they were on the lookout for Ravi Prakash who is said to be underground, his interviews appeared in two media houses: One in Hindustan Times and another in popular digital media – The News Minute. Apparently, he gave interviews to both the media while being underground.

In the interviews, Ravi Prakash cried foul over the way My Home Group headed by J Rameshwar Rao, who has the backing of the powers-that-be in Telangana, made a backdoor entry into the Associated Broadcasting Company Private Limited (ABCL) by buying majority stakes in Alanda Media and Entertainment Limited.

Stating that he had never stopped the majority stakeholders taking over the management, Ravi Prakash said what he had objected to was the breach of original agreement that he would be continued as the CEO of the channel and the promoters would not interfere in the day-to-day operations of the channel, including content management.

“But the moment Rameshwara Rao and his men managed to get the majority shares, they started dictating terms to the staff over what to telecast and what not to, and since I had resisted them strongly, they forced me go out of the channel on the pretext on non-performance,” he lamented.

He wondered how turning around the company as a no. 1 channel in the regional news segment and a profitable venture with a turnover of Rs 255 crore could be called a non-performance.

He vowed to fight out the builders and contractors’ lobby in the journalism.

‘Poonam Kaur and Lakshmi Parvathi were harassed by the same person’

Two months ago, actress Poonam Kaur and YSRCP leader Lakshmi Paravathi were harassed on social media platforms by a bunch of unknown people. On the one hand, Poonam Kaur went on to file a complaint with cyber crime wing, alleging that an audio tape of her, defaming Jana Sena Chief Pawan Kalyan is going rounds on the internet and it is ruining her reputation.

On the other hand, Lakshmi Parvathi too met DGP Mahender Reddy over sexual harassment on Facebook by a common man called Koti and asked for a severe penalty. She also filed a case against two Telugu Channels which telecasted alleged audio clips on her.

Today, Cyber Crime officials, after a thorough investigation, have now come to the conclusion that the man who harassed both the ladies are one and the same. Both Poonam and Lakshmi have reportedly told the same name to the cops and currently, the man, Koti, is absconding.

Also, another man is involved in the crime along with Koti and both of them reside in Filmnagar. However, the reason behind the mental torture is unknown. It is yet to find out if these accused men did it for money or out of personal grudge.

The infamous Tollywood drugs case is back in the news after the ‘Forum for Good Governance’ secretary, Padmanabha Reddy filed a RTI petition seeking an update in the case, which became a sensational news in 2017. In a response sent to Padmanabha Reddy, Exercise Dept did not include the names of industry people who were called for questioning.

Around 62 film personalities including Ravi Teja, Puri Jagannath, Charmee Kaur, Tharun, Mumaith Khan, Tanish, Nandu and others were questioned by a special police team that was investigating this case, but no action was taken after that. Contrary to ongoing rumours that all the film celebrities were given clean chit in the drugs case, the fact is that the Exercise department has never given them a clean chit. In the latest announcement made by officials of Excise department, they have confirmed the same.

The officials stated that “a total of 7 chargesheets have been filed till date in this case and five more chargesheets will be registered soon.”. The authorities iterated that ‘whoever is involved in the drugs case will face respective charges and get punished”.

‘I was embarassed and wanted to return Padma Shri’

Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, who was honoured and felicitated with Padma Shri, India’s fourth-highest civilian award, in 2010, says that he wanted to return the award. It is because the actor was brutally trolled and accused of buying the award.

During his recent appearance on Arbaaz Khan’s chat show ‘Pinch’, the actor was asked to read out some mean tweets on him. On asking about the incident of buying a Padma Shri, Saif that it is a bit beyond his capacity to bribe the Indian government. ”You will have to ask more senior people,” he said. He added that he considered returning it because he felt other contenders were much more deserving than him.

“I thought I don’t want to accept it because there are people in this industry who deserve it so much more than me. There were so many senior actors who hadn’t got one and it was very embarrassing,” he said. However, his father Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi told him that he was not in a position to reject an honour bestowed upon him by the government. “I wanted to give it back. I didn’t want to accept it. My father said to me, ‘I don’t think you are in a position to refuse the Indian government.’ So I said okay and I very happily took it,” he said.

Known for his best sense of humour, Saif entertained Pinch chat show with many wit replies. One of the tweets asked him why he wore a stupid, dull, plain and white kurta to Sonam’s wedding to which he replied, “It was her wedding, not mine”.
