Turmeric Farmers’ Nominations Rejected In Varanasi
The turmeric farmers of Nizamabad faced a setback as the returning officer in Varanasi has rejected a bunch of nominations and only one nomination was accepted. Shockingly the returning officer did not cite any specific reason for rejecting farmers’ nomination.
A total of 25 farmers have filed nomination and 24 were declined. Angered by this, the Armoor farmers are now planning to go to New Delhi on May 3rd to meet the Chief Election Commissioner of ECI. They are likely to complaint against the returning officer of Varanasi.
Varanasi is being represented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and for not keeping the promise of setting up a turmeric board in Nizamabad, farmers in protest are doing mass nominations. Not just from Nizamabad, farmers from Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh too reached Varanasi to contest.
We hear that a total of 119 members have filed nominations in Varanasi and the returning officer rejected 89 nominations.

Don’t hide behind Indian Army’s valour: Manmohan to Modi
Launching a trenchant attack on the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for using the surgical strikes (both Uri and Balakot airstrikes) to seek votes this election season, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh made harsh remarks on Modi’s petty politics in using the Indian Army. “The UPA government had conducted multiple surgical strikes but did not believe in using them to win votes,” said Singh.
His remarks come at a time when Modi has been attacking the UPA government for not controlling terrorism and its failure to expose Pakistan as hot-bed of terror activities. Commenting on the Mumbai attacks in 2008, Manmohan Singh said: “Within 14 days of the Mumbai attack, we got China to agree to declare [Lashkar-e-Taiba chief] Hafiz Saeed as a global terrorist,” Singh, adding that “the UPA ensured that a $10 million bounty was placed on the head of the Mumbai attack perpetrator and the founder of Pakistan-based LeT by America.”
Stating that the BJP is bringing down the PM post’s dignity with petty and foolish comments, he said that Indira Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri too were great and strong decisive leaders who led India. He made these comments at a time when BJP is chest-thumping about Modi’s greatness in taking a strong stand for India on an international level.
“There cannot be any comparison between their greatness and the pettiness of the present regime. Neither Mrs Gandhi nor her predecessor took away the credit of our armed forces [in the 1971 or 1965 wars with Pakistan],” he added. He said that the Modi government cannot hide behind the bravery and greatness of the Indian Armed Forces and seek votes by publicising Armed Forces’ actions.
Mumbai College Students Attack Rajini’s Darbar Sets
India’s superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming flick, Darbar, is towering unimaginable hopes and expectations among his fans. Both Rajinikanth and Nayanatara are busy with the shooting. However, this high-paced shooting had hit the roadblock after a bunch of college students protested against the crew’s strict rules.
It is reported that the Darbar crew members have objected students to click pictures or record videos while on sets. They also asked students to stay away from the sets and not disturb the flow. This made students upset and they allegedly pelted stones at the crew from the terrace of the building. Immediately, filmmaker AR Murugadoss, went on to give a complaint to the respective college management in Mumbai.
Murugadoss is also planning to shift the shooting location to a much peaceful area. Some of the pictures from the sets went viral on social media. This awaited cop-drama will hit the screens on Pongal next year.

IAS officers trying to be in Jagan’s good books?
Having come to a conclusion that the YSR Congress would win the elections in the state, many government officials, it is learnt, have begun forging good relations with the party leaders and its president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy, for the last two years. Usually, it is the government officials who can gauge the pulse of the voters and they seem to be firm that the YSRCP would be voted to power.
Except for a few who belong to the same social community of the Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and other officers who already are in the good books of Naidu, the other government officials have been trying to maintain cordial relations with the YSRCP chief, with a view that he has a good political future.
According to sources, some IAS officers began trying to get in touch with Jaganmohan Reddy after the polling was completed. The officers have reportedly begun making requests seeking posts in the chief minister’s office (CMO) and other key positions in the government. It is learnt that they are lobbying through retired IAS officers for these posts. These IAS officers in service are asking their retired colleagues to mention their names whenever they meet Jagan.
Earlier, some retired IAS officers had begun fuming at Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu even before the election process began and the same officers reportedly are in touch with Jaganmohan Reddy. Looks like everyone’s desperately looking for their survival in umpteen ways if Jagan becomes the CM.

India’s Most Wanted Trailer: Hunt for India’s Osama
It’s been a while that Bollywood hero Arjun Kapoor has scored a hit. Having tried typical entertainers, Arjun is now coming up with patriotic genre. ‘India’s Most Wanted’ is the upcoming movie and this film’s teaser has impressed everyone.
From where exactly the teaser concluded, ‘India’s Most Wanted’ trailer starts off from the same scene wherein a police official questions how can a group of ordinary men, will catch hold of a terrorist wanted in and by India. This plot is based on a true story and is about five unsung heroes who risk their lives and don’t use bullet to go on a manhunt.
Arjun portrays his role confidently and is a brave man who will do anything for his country. He sports thick beard look and is seen all over the trailer while rest of the characters have least presence. Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, ‘India’s Most Wanted’ is touted to be one of its kind thriller.
How successful will these five men be, is something we can watch from May 24th. Hopefully, Arjun Kapoor will be back to success line with this film.
Prabhas Not Interested in 100 Cr Movies
Prabhas is no longer interested in doing films with modest budget. What is modest budget? For him, a film made with or under Rs 100 Cr.
Today his films’ Hindi rights alone are fetching more than Rs 125 Cr. All in all, his films have potential to do Rs 400 Cr pre-release business.
Given such massive market, he doesn’t want to compromise on the scale of his movies. He wants everything should be on lavish scale.
In an interview, Prabhas revealed that his fans and audiences now are expecting the best from him and he doesn’t want to compromise on the quality.
Quality requires lot of budget. Hence, Prabhas will only do films that have more than Rs 200 Cr investment.
His “Saaho” is being made with Rs 300 Cr. Another period romantic drama in the direction of Radha Krishna Kumar is pegged at Rs 225 Cr.
The box-office fate of these two films will decide the future course of Prabhas and his market.
He is now basking in the glory of “Baahubali 2” that did collect Rs 1700 Cr from theaters worldwide.
