YSRC getting ready for Jagan swearing-in?
Though it is nearly 40 days to go for the announcement of results for the recently held assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh, YSR Congress party appears to be getting ready for the swearing-in ceremony of party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy as the chief minister of the state.
According to highly sources, the party leaders have already started discussing the arrangements for the swearing-in ceremony, the preparation of list of invitees for the ceremony and also composition of cabinet.
It is learnt some of the top bureaucrats and police officials of Andhra have started visiting Lotus Pond to meet Jagan so as to get into his good books for key positions.
Expectedly, Jagan is also hinted at a major reshuffle of bureaucracy and police administration within a couple of days of taking oath as the chief minister.
Such is the enthusiasm of the YSRC leaders and cadre that some highly-optimistic party workers even prepared the name plate of Jagan, referring him as Honourable Chief Minister.
Even some reporters who are die-hard fans of Jagan, have been describing as CM Jagan in their social media groups.
The latest talk is that Jagan is interested in taking oath in public, like his father Y S Rajasekhar Reddy had done in 2004.
While YSR had taken oath at Lal Bahadur Stadium where he signed the first file on free power supply to farmers, Jagan will also take oath most probably at Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium in Vijayawada or Nagarjuna University grounds in Guntur amidst a huge turnout and signs the files pertaining to implementation of Nava Ratnalu (nine promises) made during the padayatra.
It is learnt Jagan is planning to invite Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and other prominent TRS leaders to the swearing-in ceremony.
“He has several other plans in mind, but he is yet to disclose the same,” a party leader said.
Megastar Chiru’s Review Might Offer Big Help
After making 9+ crores share from its weekend, it looks like Mega hero Sai Tej’s latest movie Chitralahari is going to push its distributors into safe havens. Though the film will not be a blockbuster of epic promotions, its good that it is not going to burn anybody’s pocket.
Despite getting average ratings from critics, Chitralahari has made sure to impact youths with its subtle message and thereby did well at the box office. Also, the summer holidays and relaxed mood post the election in Andhra Pradesh is helping the ticket meter tick forward.
Other day none other than Megastar Chiranjeevi has watched the film and felt that director Kishore Tirumala conveyed a subtle message through the movie for youths which impressed him. At the same time, he felt that Posani has stunned everyone in father’s role, while Sunil provided the much needed comic relief. All said and done, Chiru appreciated Sai Dharam Tej’s matured acting too. And pre praised producer Mythri Movie Makers as an address of successful films.
With this review of Chiru, the film’s unit is expecting that the collections will take an upward turn from Monday. Let’s see what happens.
Sai Pallavi Refuses Two Crore Rupees Deal
There are some actresses who always think of money and will chalk financial terms for every small thing they do. From posting a tweet to attending a charity event, from doing a special cameo to launching a trailer, they charge a payment for all of it. But then, there is someone like Sai Pallavi too.
Recently talented actress Sai Pallavi, who has won millions of Telugu hearts with Fidaa, has rejected a grand brand deal that is worth 2 crores. Apparently, a top cosmetic brand wanted her to endorse their latest face cream and offered huge money to Sai Pallavi. However, the actress has rejected this upright.
The actress felt that when she herself is acting without makeup on the silver screen, flaunting her freckles and pimples, how come she would endorse a face cream to improve looks and appearance? With film industry folks also requesting the actress to act with those pimples only, it will not be a good idea to get rid of them for an ad on TV, the actress has felt.
Well, that’s a good take from Sai Pallavi we have to say. In her next, the actress will be seen in Surya’s NGK and Rana’s Virata Parvam.
#ChaySam Are Actually Doing A Good Thing
Their film already made 28+ crores share thereby pushing producers into heavy profits. We are talking about Samantha and Naga Chaitanya’s first film together after marriage and fourth film together in their career, Majili. Here is an interesting snippet about this happening couple.
Generally, if the film’s talk is average, then somehow our Telugu stars have this habit of not promoting it post the release day. They just record a few interviews in advance and share them with TV channels through their PR agencies after the release day. Cut to Majili, despite the film making a huge profit already, #ChaySam are not resting.
Some say that the duo is going to get a share in the profits, hence these aggressive promotions, but whatever they say these two are actually promoting the film quite aggressively. Even now, they are not shying away from promotions and appearing on top news channels to talk about the movie.
Actually, they are doing a good thing, because that opens the eyes of many other stars who don’t promote their films. Sometimes, even if the talk is bad, promoting a film will yield more collections.
In Pics: Poonam Kaur in lovely long gown
The latest photoshoot of Poonam has presently grabbed everyone’s attention and the actress is seen in a jade green evening gown. This off-shoulder dress has a heavy embroidered broad border and Poonam looks ravishing while flaunting her perfectly structured curves.
Poonam also accessorized her look with a vintage style pink titled hat which complimented the whole appearance. The bold red lip colour and well-groomed eyebrows completed her chic look. One of the four pictures were of black and white shade and we bet every single picture has its own beauty. and charisma.
India’s WC squad: Vijay picked; Ambati Rayudu dropped

The five wise men of Indian cricket, led by M.S.K. Prasad, met in Mumbai on Monday and picked the 15-member squad.
Much to the surprise of many, the selectors dropped Ambati Rayudu from the squad while Vijay Shankar was picked for the quadrennial extravaganza.
Vijay Shankar goes to the showpiece event as the number four batsman and Ravindra Jadeja has been picked as the third spinner ahead of a fourth pacer. KL Rahul joins in as the back-up opener.
While skipper Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, M.S. Dhoni, Kedar Jadhav, Hardik Pandya, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah picked themselves on the back of some consistent show in recent times, there were three main areas of concern that the selectors needed to take a call on.
The much-debated number four slot, whether Pant or Karthik go as the second wicket-keeper behind MS Dhoni and finally, if the team will pick a fourth pacer or an additional third spinner considering that the wickets will be on the slower side at this time of the year in England has been answered.
The current Indian team management and selectors have often spoken about continuity and that is exactly what they have done with regards to the team for the World Cup.
Having tried Shankar at the top, they have backed him in the squad. The fact that Shankar continued to bat at number three or four in this edition of the IPL for the Sunrisers Hyderabad was another hint that the team management had asked him to settled down to the idea of batting at the top.
Karthik has eclipsed Pant to the second wicket-keeper’s spot. Even though Karthik failed to do much in the 12th edition of the cash-rich league, the team management had already said they aren’t looking at it.
In the bowling department too, it was a case of backing an in-form Jadeja because not only has he done well for Chennai Super Kings, but also, wickets are expected to be on the slower side during the showpiece event. More importantly, Jadeja brings with him solidarity at the lower end of the batting and not to forget his brilliance on the field.
Pandya, having missed the series against Australia, due to issues with his core is back and fits in as the all-rounder who will also be looked at as the finisher.
While both Prasad and captain Kohli had made it amply clear that players’ performance in the IPL would not be considered, sources in the know of developments told IANS that it was indeed difficult to ignore some of the breathtaking knocks played by the likes of Rahul.
India’s 15-member World Cup Squad: Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, Kedar Jadhav, Vijay Shankar, Hardik Pandya, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, Dinesh Karthik.
Polls over, but TDP-YSRC clashes continue!
It has been four days since the high voltage elections to the Andhra Pradesh state assembly were held, but there seems to be no respite in the violence between the Telugu Desam Party and YSR Congress party in different parts of the state.
According to the latest information, a tense atmosphere prevailed in Nellore town on Monday after TDP workers staged sit-in dharna in front of YSRCP Rural MLA and present contestant Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy’s office.
They alleged that Kotamreddy supporters have attacked TDP leader Tirumala Naidu by following his car and also damaged the vehicle.
They complained to police that YSRCP workers under the directions of their leader Kotamreddy have made an attempt on the life of Tirumala Naidu.
When TDP workers including women begun dharna in front of Kotamreddy’s office and started slogan shouting, the YSRCP workers also rose shoutings against TDP.
Both the groups indulged in scuffling and police who were present tried to stop them. Later, they lathi-charged both the warring groups. The police took a few workers into custody.
In the last two days, similar reports of clashes were coming from other parts of the state like Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, East Godavari, Chittoor and Anantapur.
Since the verdict of the people is sealed in the electronic voting machines, neither party would be able to influence anybody with such clashes.
Naidu’s tour against EVMs becomes a laughing stock!
TDP chief and AP CM N Chandrababu Naidu’s so-called “Mission Delhi” to fight against usage of EVMs in elections, has become a laughing stock in Delhi.
Naidu stayed in Delhi for two days on Saturday and Sunday to meet Election Commission officials and garner the support of Opposition parties against EVMs.
While his visit did not evoke any response or create any impact, it turned out to be a ‘free comedy show’ to media and leaders of various parties in Delhi.
This is because Naidu himself claimed in his Delhi tour that TDP is going to come to power again in AP by winning over 120 seats out of 175.
Immediately, in the next second, Naidu claimed that the elections were ‘farce’ and EVMs were tampered to benefit YSRCP.
Naidu’s contrasting statements left media and leaders in Delhi in a state of utter confusion.
They questioned how can Naidu express confidence of TDP winning over 120 Assembly seats while at the same time accuse EVMs of being tampered to benefit YSRCP.
Naidu and his yellow media created a big hype on his Delhi tour saying that 22 national and regional parties have extended support to Naidu in his fight against EVMs and they all will attend Naidu’s meeting in Delhi on Sunday.
In the end, leaders from just five parties turned up.
They include Congress, CPI, CPM, SP and AAP. These parties hardly have any hold in any state at present and their presence in Naidu’s meeting could hardly create any impact.
To suit yellow media’s hype on the meeting, Naidu has booked a big auditorium in Delhi to hold the meeting with Opposition leaders and invited all the national channels.
The auditorium was empty. Only six leaders were on the dais with Naidu but the number of reporters and cameramen from media were over hundred.
Even media people were more interested in having a free delicious lunch provided at the venue than covering the event.
Row over Hyderabad BJP MLA ‘copying’ Pakistani song
Hyderabad: Telangana’s lone BJP MLA Raja Singh landed himself in embarrassment after the Pakistan Army accused him of copying their song but he stood defiant saying he did not have to copy anything from a “terrorist state”.
“Good to see even #Pakistan media is covering my song #HindustanZindabad. I’m more surprised that even a terrorist nation produces singers. #Pakistani singer’s may have copied my song, we don’t have to copy anything from a terrorist state like Pakistan,” Singh said in a tweet.
Spokesperson of the Pakistan Armed Forces, Major General Asif Ghafoor, who in his tweet on Sunday had accused the BJP legislator of copying the song, responded to Singh on Monday, saying: “Pakistani media isn’t covering the ‘so called’ song. In rest of the world, this is called something else…”
“Glad that you copied. But copy to speak the truth as well. #PakistanZindabad,” Asif Ghafoor had earlier tweeted from his personal handle, ridiculing the MLA for replacing ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ in the song with ‘Hindustan Zindabad’.
Singh, who represents the Goshamahal constituency in Hyderabad, had announced that his new song was dedicated to the Indian armed forces and will be released on the occasion of Ram Navami on Sunday. He had posted the video of his song on April 12.
A few hours before the legislator was to release his song in a procession in Hyderabad, Ghafoor tweeted that he copied it.
Singh’s video and Pakistani Army spokesman’s tweet went viral with many people on social media also sharing the original Pakistani song “Dil ki himmat watan… apna jazba watan. Man ki sacchi lagan… seedha rasta watan” sung by Sahir Ali Bagga.
The Pakistani song was released on March 23 on the occasion of Pakistan Day by the Inter-Services Public Relations, the media wing of the Pakistani Army.
The legislator dropped his plans to release the song after it sparked the plagiarism row.
