The seventh edition of South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA) is all set to happen in Dubai.
Celebrities from Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam film industries including Balakrishna, Keerthy Suresh and Allu Arvind have reached Dubai for the grand award ceremony.
The official handle of SIIMA has tweeted out the pictures of the celebs arriving in the country.
Non-native heroines stepping into Tollywood, learning Telugu and even dubbing in their own voices is undoubtedly an appreciable effort. However, audiences may find it tough to get accustomed to a heroine’s voice especially after a noted dubbing artiste dubbed for her for several movies.
Samantha, who dubbed in her own voice in U-Turn, unfortunately couldn’t impress with her painstaking efforts. Although her acting was spotless, her voice was jarring in most scenes and especially in emotional scenes. Audiences are wondering why did Sam have to force her voice instead of her long-time onscreen voice, Chinmayi’s.
The major issue in Samantha’s Telugu pronunciation is the strong Tamil accent. Although she had managed to cover up the faults in her voice for her stammering girl’s role in Mahanati, she couldn’t repeat the same in U-Turn, where the entire story revolved around her character.
Even Samantha’s diehard fans are advising her not to again experiment with her voice in future. It remains to be seen whether Sam will accept this feedback and think twice before deciding to dub on her own for all her future movies.

New Delhi: The Congress party on Friday announced its screening committee for Telangana with former MP Bhakta Charan Das as its chairperson.
The other two members of the committee are Jothimani Sennimalai and Sharmistha Mukherjee. The announcement was made by party General Secretary Ashok Gehlot.The opposition parties including Congress, Telugu Desam Party and Communist Party of India joined hands to form a grand alliance to take on the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi in the ensuing Assembly elections.
The Telangana Assembly was dissolved on September 6, paving way for an early election in the state.
The other day, social activist and T-MASS leader Prof Kancha Ilaiah announced at a press conference that erstwhile revolutionary singer and former Maoist ideologue Gaddar would contest against Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao in Gajwal assembly constituency as an independent with the support of all Bahujans.
He also declared that another revolutionary singer Vimalakka would contest against K T Rama Rao in Sircilla.Though Vimalakka denied this announcement saying she had not taken any decision yet, Gaddar did not make any comment.
On the other hand, he met senior Congress leader and former Rajya Sabha member V Hanumantha Rao on the same day and held discussions with him, lending credence to the speculations that he is preferring to contest on the Congress ticket.
His son Surya Kiran is already in the Congress and so, there is no surprise if Gaddar also prefers to contest on the Congress ticket. However, he would be a consensus candidate of the Maha Kootami to fight against KCR from Gajwel.
After the massive success of Geetha Govindam, all eyes are on Vijay Deverakonda’s next film ‘NOTA’. The film is scheduled to be released on October 4. The striking theatrical trailer which was released last week showcased Vijay in an authoritative role of a Chief Minister.
However, Vijay doesn’t play a full-length Chief Minister’s role in NOTA. We have been exclusively informed by a source in the know that Vijay becomes CM only in the film’s climax. Apparently, the last 20 minutes of the movie will be the main highlight of NOTA.
Given Vijay’s impeccable acting prowess, there’s no exaggeration in saying that he will rule the roost if NOTA’s script strikes the right chord with audiences. If NOTA emerges a winner at the box office, there will be no stopping Vijay Deverakonda in Tollywood and Kollywood, as he will be the go-to man for Telugu-Tamil bilinguals in future.
