KCR Still Nurturing Third Front Hope!
Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao appears to have not lost hope on forming a non-Congress and non-Bharatiya Janata Party political alternative at the national level, notwithstanding the fact that there has not been much response to his proposal.
He went all the way to Kolkata to meet Trinamul Congress chief and his West Bengal counterpart Mamata Banerjee to discuss his federal front proposal a few days ago, but it did not yield much result, as she categorically told him that no-front would be successful without the Congress party.
KCR’s latest meeting with former Jharkhand chief minister Hemanth Soren in Hyderabad also has given the same result. He invited Hemanth and his family members to Pragati Bhavan and hosted sumptuous lunch. Along with it, he tried to brainwash Soren to give up friendship with the Congress and join hands with him to form the third front.
But Hemanth, being a close ally of the Congress party, has not given him much response. Very recently, Hemant forged alliance with Congress to fight the next elections jointly in Jharkhand.
Though the TRS sources say Hemanth was convinced of KCR’s theory of the consolidation of all regional parties against BJP and Congress at national level, there was no positive statement from him to that effect. As of now, only Ajit Jogi spoke positively about KCR’s plan. If he too backtracks, the TRS chief would be left alone!
Ex-CBI official to Launch New Party?
V V Lakshminarayana, former joint director of Central Bureau of Investigation, who applied for voluntary retirement from his service, has already hinted at joining politics.
The IPS officer of Maharashtra cadre, who shot into limelight with his alleged witch-hunt of YSR Congress party chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy in 2012 besides his investigations into high profile cases like Satyam fraud, Obulapuram illegal mining and Emaar Properties scam, is weighing his options on how to make an entry into politics.
Initially, there was a talk that he might Jana Sena Party of Pawan Kalyan. Even the Jana Sena chief welcomed him into the party. Subsequentlhy, there was also a talk that he might join the Bharatiya Janata Party.
However, the latest talk doing rounds in the media circles is that he is planning to float his own political party in Andhra Pradesh. One does not know what his background is to launch a political party, but if he really takes a plunge in that direction, it is a big news.
Though Lakshminarayana used to be in the news, mostly for wrong reasons, during the days of CBI inquiry into Jagan’s case and for the way he sent the YSRC leader to jail. However, after he returned to his parent state of Maharashtra, people have forgotten him. He does not have any political background nor does he have any charisma to attract voters.
Moreover, there is no political space in Andhra with the TDP fighting strongly with YSR Congress party. Now, the TDP has to face multi-cornered contest including the BJP and the Jana Sena Party, besides Congress and the Left. Now, where will he fit in?The talk is that Lakshminarayana is planning to galvanise his Kapu-Balija community votes and win a few seats for his new political party.
May be Telugu Desam Party president and chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu is using him to split the Kapu votes and help the party indirectly, since the TDP is all set to lose the Kapu votes heavily because of sudden revolt from Pawan Kalyan.Watch out for more developments on this front!

Sravan alleged that almost 61 hours of assembly sessions spread in 13 days are only misused to praise KCR, but not democratically debate and discuss on any public issue.
Sravan slammed at KCR it is shameful that eleven most vital bills including those pertaining to Panchayatraj, Private Universities, Assigned Lands and others were introduced without the presence of main opposition.
Sravan, compared it with the assembly of Duryodhana, where dictatorial decisions are being brutally enforced without any dialogue.

Big B is currently in Hyderabad for the shooting of his role in Sye Raa and other day leaked some pictures from the sets as well.

‘KCR Bought 21 Acres in Vijayawada’
Telangana’s firebrand leader Revanth Reddy has targeted at CM KCR and his assets. Leveling serious allegations on KCR, Revanth accused KCR of “grabbing” 52 acres near posh high-tech city in Hyderabad, 21 acres near Gannavaram airport in Vijayawada and 2 acres in Visakhapatnam in the benami names.
Revanth further alleged, “All these properties worth more than Rs 1200 crore including 15,000 square feet space in Hyderabad’s IT city. KCR family has got it from the L & T company for giving his nod to the metro project without any changes.”
This is not all. Revanth didn’t spare My Home group chairman Jupally Rameshwara Rao either. “KCR has conspired to sell all government’s share in the metro rail project and planned to take over the share by his family. The proposal to lay metro project in the Old city has been shifted to Rayadurgam to benefit KCR’s benami Jupally Rameswar Rao who had purchased thousands of acres of lands at the place.”
Meanwhile, TRS leaders and My Homes’ Rameswar Rao are yet to counter Revanth’s serious allegations.

Rangasthalam Movie Review
Rangasthalam, the first big ticket movie of Tollywood this summer has been riding on high expectations. Sukumar who has set a benchmark for himself with innovative ideas has made a rural drama with Ram Charan, who takes a big risk by accepting a character that is against his image. Let’s get into the details of Rangasthalam.
Story :
Rangasthalam is a fictional village set in the eighties time period. It is ruled by a ruthless President (Jagapathi Babu) who suppresses the villagers with his feudalistic mentality. An NRI Kumar Babu (Aadhi) questions this and stands against him in elections. Kumar Babu’s younger brother Chitti Babu (Ram Charan) loves his brother and goes to any extent for him. But will President let Kumar Babu to achieve his dreams? What happens to the lives of these brothers who stand against him?
Performances:
Ram Charan is a revelation. He has truly arrived as an actor. It is not only his best performance yet but also one of finest in recent times. He got into the skin of the character and lived every moment on the screen as Chitti Babu. There is not a single wrong note in his performance as he elevates every emotion with his flawless act. His performance in the climax scene and the scene where he confronts Jagapati Babu during puja is a major highlight. It is Ram Charan’s show all the way.
Samantha is a fine actress and she has made Rama Lakshmi adorable. It is yet another feather in her cap. Jagapati Babu’s characterisation, his demeanour as the soft spoken evil man is splendid. We get to see other side of the actor who has aced playing the bad guy. Aadhi Pinishetty is very good. He elevates drama with subtle expressions. His performance in the interval scene and the scene where he puts a knife to his neck is superb. Prakash Raj is competent in a limited but crucial role. Anasuya is good as voluptuous Rangammatha. Every actor is aptly cast and plays a significant part in taking the story forward.
Technicalities:
Sukumar for once has put his complex screenplays aside and made a perfect rural drama. He narrates a familiar plot in an engaging fashion. He doesn’t deviate from the narrative for the sake of humor or any other commercial elements. He makes everything a part of the story. He intelligently sets the story in eighties to make it more raw and authentic. It is arguably the best work of the director since Arya.
Every technician backs Sukumar’s vision with outstanding efforts. Art work is phenomenal. The music is fantastic and cinematography is top notch. Dialogue is superb. Fights are real and intense. Editor could’ve kept the run time short. Production values are awesome.
Thumbs Up:
- Ram Charan
- Backdrop and Emotions
- Music and Cinematography
- First Half
Thumbs Down:
- Too Lengthy
- Second Half has lags in between
Analysis:
Rangasthalam is all about storytelling, characters and emotions. The plot is a simple one. A villain with feudal mentality is creating atrocities in a village and a voice rises against him. It is about the consequences that follow. Sukumar narrated the film at leisurely pace but does well in getting the emotions right. It starts off as a fun film with an entertaining characterization of the protagonist. Turns serious at the middle and drama thickens as it goes forward.
Sukumar did a fabulous job in establishing the bond between brothers and also the evilness of the villain. The romance track is entertaining and cute. We can predict a few upcoming incidents in the narrative but Sukumar cleverly throws in a twist using the hearing disability of the protagonist. However, not everyone may like the climax part that is stretched a bit for the sake of the twist. Action in the second half is very intense which might be too much for sensitive audience.
Taking wise Rangasthalam is entirely different from regular potboilers. It is an intense film with raw emotions. Sukumar’s style is similar to some Tamil movies that are made with identical theme. He could have kept things short in the second half where it takes too long to conclude. It turns heavy in the middle but ends on a good note with an interesting twist. Audience who love realistic dramas will fall head over heels with the film. Special mention to the production design team who did a mindboggling work with the sets that look extremely natural.
Every song is beautifully shot and comes at right intervals. The pathos song in the pre climax could have been avoided though. Rangasthalam may get mixed response from regular masala movie lovers as it is told in a raw manner that our audiences are not used to. It doesn’t have repeat value which will restrict its range at box office. On a whole, it is definitely worth a watch for its engaging drama and heartfelt emotions and above all for Ram Charan’s spectacular performance. Go for it.
Verdict: Ram Charan’s Show!

Raghavendra Rao Meets Naidu, What’s Up?
Amidst strong speculations that veteran filmmaker K. Raghavendra Rao will be given the post of TTD (Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam) Chairman, his latest meeting with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has gained much significance. The centenary-filmmaker called on Naidu at the latter’s official residence in Amaravathi, today.
The TTD Chairman post has been lying vacant for more than a year after Chadalavada Krishna Murthy completed his term early 2017.
Rao has been serving as one of the members of TTD Board since 2015, and there is strong buzz in political circles that he would be made the new Chairman of the board. He is being termed as the prime contender owing to his acquaintance with Naidu and his experience as a Board member.
It may be noted that there is significant opposition to Raghavendra Rao’s appointment to such important position and hence the state govt. is making its moves cautiously.
There is also another theory we hear about the motive behind Rao’s meeting with Naidu. It is heard that Chandrababu Naidu plans to constitute a creative team headed by Radhavendra Rao and assign them the task of preparing poll campaign material such as short films on TDP government’s schemes, achievements etc. This will be used during 2019 election campaign.
