Naidu needs mental treatment in Switzerland!
Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has lost his mental balance completely and he needs to be taken to Switzerland for treatment, as local hospitals like the one at Erragadda do not have the capacity to treat him.
This was the observation made by senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP K V P Ramachandra Rao, who was reacting to the recent tall claims made by Naidu while undertaking “gallery walk” in Polavaram irrigation project spillway a couple of days ago.
“I am surprised at the way you have been making tall claims about completion of irrigation projects in the state, which even Vijayanagara emperor Sri Krishnadevaraya also did not contemplate. The people have clearly understood by now that there is something terribly wrong with your state of mind and you definitely treatment for your loss of mental balance,” KVP said.
He reminded that completion of gallery in the spillway only showed that it was just a halfway mark in the project.
“In your own words, only 58 per cent of the work is completed. But going by the unveiling the pylon after pylon, you are creating an impression that the Polavaram project is nearing completion. May be you have realized that the project will not be completed before the next elections and you are trying to fool the people with your publicity stunts,” he said.
KVP regretted Naidu comparing himself with Jawaharlal Nehru who laid foundation stone for the Nagarjunasagar project.
“Polavaram is not in Pakistan or Kazhakistan. It is in Andhra Pradesh and everybody knows its history, right from the day of foundation stone laying by former chief minister T Anjaiah to the commencement of work during the regime of late Y S Rajasekhar Reddy after obtaining all the permissions from the Centre,” he said.
He said Naidu seemed to be under the impression that just because he was in power, whatever he said would be believed by the people.
“Otherwise, your Alzheimer disease must be in the final stages,” the Congress MP said.
TRS owes explanation for imposing election: Amit Shah
Hyderabad: BJP President Amit Shah on Saturday said the TRS owes an explanation to the people for imposing additional poll expenditure on Telangana by going for early elections to the state Assembly. He wanted to know why the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) imposed early polls on the state when Lok Sabha and Assembly elections are slated to be held nine months later.
Shah, who arrived here to launch the Bharatiya Janata Party’s poll campaign, told a news conference that Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao had initially supported Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s idea of “one nation one election” but he was surprised when he suddenly changed his stand.”Rao and TRS have forced a small state to bear expenditure of two elections. BJP believes that TRS has put an additional burden of crores of rupees on people to further its political interests,” said the BJP chief.
Shah, who will be addressing a public meeting at Mahabubnagar on Saturday evening to kick off the party’s campaign, said that the BJP was ready to give a tough fight to both TRS and opposition Congress in every constituency. He was confident that the BJP will emerge as a strong and decisive force in the state.
Shah said there were no chances of TRS getting a fresh mandate.
“If the TRS government comes back to power, it will continue its politics of appeasement,” he said slamming it for passing a resolution to provide 12 per cent reservation to Muslims and sending it to the Centre for its approval.”Shah denied reports that BJP was hand-in-glove with TRS and alleged that it was the TRS and Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) which were engaged in “shadow boxing”.
The BJP leader ruled out any any alliance with TRS. Replying to a query, he said Modi’s praise of Rao during his speech in Parliament was in a different context and it cannot be interpreted as an understanding between the two parties.
Claiming that the Modi government provided Rs.2.3 lakh crore to Telangana during last four years against Rs 15,000 crore given during Congress rule, Shah said the BJP showed no discrimination towards any state but was opposed to politics of appeasement.

Kancharapalem Turns Out to be Average
Celebrities praised ‘C/o Kancharapalem’ like anything. Some even went on to say that it is ‘world-class cinema’.Actors like Nani and others said they cried during the movie. But in reality there is not a single scene that makes us weep or turn emotional though it is a good movie with many lighter moments and has deep philosophical touch.
However, the celebrities proclaimed that this is the classic that everyone has been waiting for from Tollywood.Except in the first weekend, the film has not made any further buzz at the ticket window. It has become an average grosser.Since it is made with paltry amount of Rs 75 lakhs, the film is considered as hit but its overall revenues are too low.
Off-beat film like “Pellli Choopulu” went on to collect Rs 13 Cr from theatrical run with good reviews.Today people have started saying that if a hero’s friends are praising the movie, don’t watch it.Though ‘Kancharapalem’ is good movie, people were sceptical that since celebrities are complimenting it must be for the sake of Rana not for the merit.
Undeterred, They Make Fresh Promises
“It is our aim to create 1 lakh jobs in Andhra Pradesh by 2019,” said Nara Lokesh, son of Chandrababu Naidu in Amaravati yesterday.Despite having a foreign education, this economic genius does not seem to understand the implications of what he is saying. In 2014, the TDP slogan was, “Job ravalante Babu Ravali’ (Vote for Chandrababu if you need jobs). The Party also promised an allowance for unemployed youth.
Naturally, the youth of the State who were worried about their future after bifurcation, believed him and supported the TDP. But the TDP has not bothered to honour its promises.Chandrababu had absolutely no problem in giving generous allowances to government employees and Ashok Babu and his chamchas who selfishly asked for raises at a time when the State was having a deficit budget. But there was absolutely no sympathy for our youth.
Pray, in which sector does Lokesh expect to create one lakh jobs and that too by the end of 2019? IT? Industry body NASSCOM is expecting the IT industry to add one lakh new jobs in the current fiscal. When the entire IT industry is looking to add one lakh jobs, will all of them be in Andhra Pradesh? The need of the hour is for attracting investments in the manufacturing sector. That only can create opportunities for Andhra Pradesh. Even then, one should be practical or realistic in making announcements.
Instead of letting down youth by not honoring the promises made to them, the son of Chandrababu is brazenly making fanciful claims. Not a good sign for the people of the State!
Special Celebrations for Prabhas’s 40!?
Prabhas will be turning 40 this October 23. A special occasion for any man. So in what special manner will he be celebrating?Fans are planning a huge range of celebrations in all the cities and towns in AP and Telangana but Prabhas doesn’t want it to be flashy affair.
He will mostly be throwing party to his close friends like always in Hyderabad, said a source.Prabhas is more worried about his current two films and how to avoid pressure from his mother and other family members about marriage.Since he is entering into 40, his family is asking him to get married now. It is already too late, his mother worries.
But Prabhas is not showing much interest in getting married. He reportedly told them that he’d give a thought after releasing “Saaho” that is getting delayed for various reasons. The film might be wrapped up in March 2019. Meanwhile, he will be leaving for Europe to commence the shoot of his next film that was recently launched in the direction of Radha Krishna.
Prabhas will be returning to Hyderabad just before his birthday.
Will 2.0 Become Another Baahubali?
Though the film has been delayed for quite some time, the number of YouTube hits for Shankar’s Robot 2.0 teaser, has proved that it has a huge lineup of fans waiting to watch it.The film is being made with a whopping Rs 550 crore and has been in the making for three years now.The film stars superstars Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar and is a sci-fi thriller made with heavy-duty graphics.
However, those who watched the teaser on computers and mobiles are not particularly pleased with it. Though those who watched it on the big screen in 3D have been left feeling ‘awe’.Now the big question is, how many big screens does India have to create the magic? On the other hand, Baahubali has managed to entice the audiences in 2D format.Baahubali did not have such a mixed response. But looks like 3D will make or break Robot 2.0. The variation in technology might prove to be a hindrance for the film.
While the teaser has shown audiences’ interest, the tech bit has shown where the film can lose out. Surely the mixed response is a wake-up call for director Shankar.
Or will the film bring back audiences to the theatres to experience big screen magic!
Disgruntled TRS leaders eye Cong tickets!
With Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao declaring the first list of 105 candidates for the ensuing assembly elections, disgruntled ticket aspirants are looking up to the Congress party as the only alternative.
Initially, some of the serious contenders thought they would prevail upon KCR to make some changes in the list and tried to influence him through his son K T Rama Rao, but the TRS chief is very adamant and refusing to make any changes.
On Friday, former minister and senior TRS leader G Gurunath Reddy from Kodangal came to the Congress Legislature Party office and met some old colleagues. He was aspiring for the TRS ticket from Kodangal to fight against A Revanth Reddy, his arch rival in the past.
But KCR denied him the ticket and fielded Narender Reddy against Revanth. As a result, the old man has no choice but to come back to the Congress party. He is now trying for the Congress ticket at least from Tandur.
In Nizamabad, TRS MLC Bhupathi Reddy joined Congress party on Friday. He met Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi and announced that he would join the party as he was fed up with TRS party proceedings. He also said that the party has neglected the leaders who played a key role during the Telangana movement.Reddy said he was willing to contest from Nizamabad rural constituency against the TRS MLA Baju Reddy Govardhan.
“Reddy has been serving as Nizamabad MLA from 10 years because of my sacrifice,” he added.Former minister Konda Surekha is also eyeing the Congress ticket from Warangal East again, as she is all set to say good-bye to the TRS.
BJP puts up weak fight against TRS!
With the assembly elections in Telangana hardly two months away, the Telangana unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party is still in a state of confusion on how to fight against the mighty Telangana Rashtra Samithi.Even as the other opposition parties including the Congress, the TDP, CPI and Telangana Jana Samithi are trying to put up a strong fight against the TRS, there is absolutely no such effort from the BJP.
According to party sources, the BJP national leadership has pulled up the state BJP leaders for their lack of fighting spirit. What agitation programmes has the BJP taken up against the TRS in the last four years?
What measures have you taken up in strengthening the organization from grassroots level?Who are the potential candidates in 119 assembly segments? Where is the alternative political agenda before the party?
These are some of the questions the BJP national leadership reportedly asked the state BJP leaders. And there is no answer from them to any of these questions. Instead, they are trying to throw blame on the Centre for being friendly with the TRS government headed by K Chandrasekhar Rao.Against this backdrop, BJP national president Amit Shah is going to address a big public meeting at Mahbubnagar on Saturday.
Shah will pray Goddess Mahankali in the old city before proceeding to Mahbubnagar, where he would address a massive public meeting to start the election campaign. On his way back to Hyderabad airport, Shah would have a meeting with state office bearers and district unit presidents of the BJP at a function hall in Kothur to give them direction to face the coming elections.
“Now, the party’s strategy is not to attack the TRS, but to make an appeal to the people to give the BJP a chance to rule the state, as they had already experimented with the Congress, the TDP and the TRS till now,” a BJP leader said.
