Another Jolt to Allari Naresh
Allari Naresh and Sunil starrer ‘Silly Fellows’ which took better openings among the recent releases has come crashing down now.The film’s collections saw huge drop on its first Monday and it has slipped further on Tuesday.
The comedy drama based on a Tamil hit is now collecting lower amounts than ‘C/o Kancharapalem’ and ‘Geetha Govindam’ even in single screens.’Silly Fellows’ is unlikely to recover its theatrical revenue of Rs 5.5 Cr as per the current trends. After getting Rs 2.25 Cr in first weekend, it is now drawing so less.
It will be another flop in the kitty of Allari Naresh who has played as the lead hero role in this movie as Sunil is seen as comedian. After ‘Selfie Raja’ and ‘Meda Meeda Abbayi’, this is third flop in the recent times for Naresh. For director Bhimaneni too this is second flop consecutively.
Trade: A Risky Turn For Samantha’s Film
It is going to be an interesting clash at box office this weekend. Wife and husband Samantha and Naga Chaitanya’s films are clashing on Vinayaka Chaviti.Naga Chaitanya’s Sailaja Reddy Alludu is a mass entertainer and Samantha’s U Turn is a thriller.
While Sailaja Reddy Alludu caters to the masses and family audiences, U Turn is banking on A centers and multiplex audience.Although U Turn is a small film compared to Sailaja Reddy Alludu, the former has to recover Rs. 16 crore from theaters to be a safe venture. It is not a small amount to recover for a film that has no big male star at the fore.
U Turn’s Tamil version has been sold for Rs. 3 crore and the rest of the money should be recovered from Telugu version. It should collect nearly Rs. 9 crore from Telugu states to be a successful one for buyers. So clash with Sailaja Reddy Alludu is likely to prove costly given U Turn’s limited appeal and female oriented subject.
U Turn’s release date was fixed ahead of Sailaja Reddy Alludu that was later pushed to Vinayaka Chaviti. Makers of U Turn couldn’t postpone the release as it is a bilingual.
Let’s see if Samantha’s film has enough in it to survive the threat from Chaitanya’s film.
Danam To Fight Against His ‘brother’!
It is going to be an interesting battle this time in Goshamahal, one of the important constituencies in Hyderabad, which covers most parts of the city’s central zone, including Nampally, Basheerbagh, Koti, Abids, Siddiambazar bazar etc.
For, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi is all set to field former minister Danam Nagender from Goshamahal in the coming assembly elections.Unless there is a last minute change, Nagender will be declared as TRS candidate on Wednesday or Thursday.Interestingly, Goshamahal is the constituency of another former minister Mukesh Goud. It was originally part of Maharajgunj constituency, which Mukesh represented before 2019.
It was organized into Goshamahal after merging some parts of Asifnagar constituency which was represented in the past by Danam. Both Danam and Mukesh were close friends in the Congress regime and were called Hyderabad brothers.
In 2014, Mukesh lost to BJP MLA T Raja Singh, while Danam lost to Chintala Ramachandra Reddy in Khairatabad. Now, with Danam in the fray for Goshamahal, he would now have to fight against Mukesh in Goshamahal. In fact, the TRS did not announce the candidate for Goshamahal till now, because it was trying to lure Mukesh. But since he did not respond, the TRS has now decided to field Danam.
So, it would be an interesting battle between the two Hyderabad brothers in Goshamahal. But since Raja Singh also has emerged as a powerful candidate in the constituency, he will definitely give both Danam and Mukesh a run for their money!
Governor Cares A Damn For Opposition!
It is an open secret that Governor of the two Telugu states E S L Narasimhan has utmost partiality towards Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.There was not a single incident in the past of the Governor acting against the interests of KCR.
In fact, he was very critical of some of the decisions of Andhra Pradesh government headed by N Chandrababu Naidu, but he never opposed any of the decisions taken by the Telangana government. And when KCR decided to dissolve the state assembly and go in for early elections, the Governor went exactly according to the former’s script, without caring for the opinions of the opposition parties.
So, it was nothing but natural to expect from Narasimhan to treat the opposition parties with utter contempt, when they went in a delegation to him to submit a memorandum seeking removal of KCR government and imposition of President’s Rule in the state.
Telangana PCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy alleged that the caretaker government had been witch-hunting of the opposition party leaders by digging out old cases and getting them arrested.
“We are afraid there would not be free and fair elections in the state if KCR continues in his seat. So, we request you to recommend for the President’s Rule in the state,” he told the Governor.
The other opposition leaders like Prof M Kodandaram of Telangana Jana Samithi, Chada Venkat Reddy of CPI and L Ramana of the TDP accused KCR of behaving like a monarch and taking irresponsible decisions. They demanded President’s Rule in the state.
However, the Governor cared a damn for their representation and reportedly told them not to make such silly representations.
“The response from the Governor was very discouraging. He never bothered to go through our representation and give a patient hearing to our point of view,” Kodandaram said.

Chandrshekhar Rao on September 6 dissolved the Assembly to pave way for early elections. The polls are likely to be held in November.During the meetings with the visiting team, leaders of ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and its friendly party Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) sought early conduct of elections.
TRS leader Vinod Kumar said the polls should be held as early as possible. MIM President Asaduddin Owaisi suggested that the elections in Telangana be held in single phase and before the polls in four other states scheduled in December. The opposition parties, however, opposed the conduct of polls in a hurry. They raised the issue of missing names from the voters’ list.Congress leader M. Sashidhar Reddy wondered how Chief Minister K. Chandrshekhar Rao could announce the poll schedule. He urged the Commission to take a serious view of this.
The Congress leader also alleged that names of lakhs of voters were deleted. He said the polls should be conducted only after a thorough revision of electoral rolls. The representatives of Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Communist Party of India (CPI) and Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) also said the time given for revision of electoral rolls under the revised schedule is not sufficient to complete the process. They alleged that Chandrashekhar Rao was crossing his limits as caretaker Chief Minister.
BJP leaders also demanded that revision of electoral rolls should be extended for another 15 days in view of the Ganesh festival.
YSRC New Poll Slogan: ‘Ravali Jagan’
Though elections to the Andhra Pradesh state assembly are still eight months away, the YSR Congress party has decided to launch an extensive campaign against the Chandrababu Naidu government in a big way, while projecting party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy as an effective alternative. The Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC), which is working out campaign strategies of the YSRC, has come out with an action plan to step up the party campaign in the coming days.
It includes counter-attacking Naidu’s failures and exposing his non-implementation of his election promises like special category status to AP, farm loan waiver, DWCRA loan waiver, one job per every household, housing to Poor, women safety in AP etc.Besides, the team wants to sustain on-ground buzz created through Jagan’s Praja Sankalpa Yatra of Jagan and increase party’s ground level reach in all the assembly constituencies.
Primarily, the IPAC has coined a slogan “Ravaali Jagan” (Jagan has to come to power) for the party for the next elections. It was discussed during an extensive party meeting in Vishakhapatnam on Tuesday, which was attended by the seniormost leaders, Parliamentary constituency presidents and assembly coordinators.
The campaign entails a 30-day long public outreach program carried by assembly constituency coordinators to visit at least 50 booths in the constituency and to interact with the public and strengthen booth committees in the village. The campaign aims to increase YSRCP’s grass roots level reach in all the assembly constituencies and to sustain the on ground buzz created through Prajasankalpa Yatra.
The ‘Ravali Jagan’ campaign aims at direct outreach of 15 lakh people in 30 days all over the state through public meetings and door to door events in villages by assembly coordinators.People can give a missed call to 91210 91210 expressing their support to Jagan, the party leaders said.
Suresh Babu’s Two Mistakes?
Suresh Babu is known as the Midas in the Telugu film industry. If his hand is placed on any film, it becomes Gold. That’s the kinda perception in the industry. This belief has become quite popular after the release of Pelli Choopulu. The film which was initially made with low expectations has gained a lot of fame only after Suresh Babu acquired the movie. And there is no doubt that Suresh Babu played the crucial role in the blockbuster success of Pelli Choopulu.
Post Pelli Choopulu, Babu’s craze went to peaks in the industry. And several small filmmakers kept knocking his doors and yet, Babu is as choosy as before. He has made Ee Nagaraniki Yemayindi with Tarun Bhascker.
The film had released with much hype and buzz. Many thought that it would be next to Pelli Choopulu and Suresh-Tarun Bhascker were going to repeat the magic. But that wasn’t the case. The film failed to meet the high expectations and it fell flat. The film was close but couldn’t sustain. Yet, Babu went ahead and announced that this is 2.0 version of Suresh Productions which would make, promote, market out-of-the-box films.
Then, all eyes were on his immediate pick – C/o Kancharapalem. The film had been in the news from very long. It was promoted that the film was entirely shot with original people from the place called Kancharapalem giving it the touch of originality. And the film was the official selection at the New York Indian Film Festival and screened at the New York Indian Film Festival raising many eyeballs and garnered good response.
Naturally, expectations were doubled after this. The film had been screened much before its theatrical release and critics have been all praise for the film. Several stars like Nani have dubbed the film as a must-watch. And the film finally hit the screens and openings were good. While the film is doing decent in the overseas, thanks to online reviews, the film couldn’t get similar steam in the domestic market. Babu who has good hold over theatres had expected to reap in profits given the ultra-positive reviews and good talk. But wrong timing and other reasons seem to have spoiled Babu’s plans.
This has given a shock to Suresh Babu yet again. Even many in industry are said to be shocked with C/o Kancharapalem’s low performance compared to it was expected. With two back-to-back disappointments for Babu, he may now retrospect and may become more strict.
Kaushal Army, Nothing Special About It
It’s common information that Kaushal Army is going all out in vouching for Kaushal who is one of the potential contenders for the Bigg Boss season 2 – Telugu. Even many celebs are shocked to see how deeply Kaushal Army is reaching out in support of him. Recently, the supporters of Kaushal event went a step ahead and did a 2 K walk and the turnout was pretty good.
Amidst this, the recently evicted contestant Ganesh, who had entered the Bigg Boss show as a common man, made a shocking comment. He stated that there is nothing special about the Kaushal Army. He even added that it is not a big deal. He said he got to know about it only after he is sent out of the show. He said there is nothing special about such things as everyone has followers and haters and so for Kaushal. These comments of Ganesh are now inviting the anger of fans of Kaushal and his Kaushal Army. Many are trolling Ganesh on online platforms.
It is learnt that Ganesh is aiming to be an actor and is looking for comedian roles. This is certainly interesting. He said he even got some offers from Tollywood which are currently under discussion stage and said he would reveal once they’re confirmed.
