Jagan’s unwarranted comments on Pawan Kalyan have kicked up a big political storm in Andhra Pradesh politics. Not just Pawan’s fans, Janasena leaders, but Pawan’s community people are also now up in the arms against Jagan’s personal comments. In addition to this, a section of anti-government voters who were looking up to Jagan are shocked with Jagan’s personal comments and are now rethinking about their decision. The issue has yet again created a certain perception against Jagan who always takes things personally instead of looking at things broadly.

Now, political analysts are finding the fight between YCP and Janasena interesting. Many speculate that the war between Jagan and Pawan is for the position of the Opposition Leader of Andhra Pradesh. TDP leaders too stress that their leader Chandrababu Naidu would storm to power once again leaving opposition parties YCP and Janasena to slug it out for the second and third places in AP politics.

Jagan’s comments against Pawan also indicate the underlying fear in Jagan against PK. Frankly speaking, Jagan has done nothing in the last 4 years and he has failed as the Leader of Opposition in taking up the people’s problems. Be it in Assembly or Parliament, YCP’s elected representatives have hardly made their presence left in the houses.

Whilst YCP boycotted the Assembly sessions, their MPs had resigned instead of fighting for the Special Category Status in the Parliament in the Monsoon Session. These have sent a strong signals to the people, argue TDP leaders and some political analysts who are tracking the developments closely. On the whole, the feud between YCP and Janasena may turn into a huge advantage to the ruling TDP, opine many. Let’s wait and watch.

Even as there have been speculations in the political circles that popular political strategist Prashant Kishor, who is presently working for YSR Congress party in Andhra Pradesh, has also signed up with the Bharatiya Janata Party for the 2019 general elections, his organisation suddenly came up with a statement, refuting these speculations.

In a tweet on Friday afternoon, the Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC) clarified that it is not working with any political party or leader other than YSR Congress party in Andhra Pradesh.“If and when we do choose to work with someone, we would formally share the same. Until then, it is our humble request to all to lay the speculation to rest,” the I-PAC said in the tweet.

So, for the moment, Prashant’s team says it has no other clients, but it did not rule out the possibility of working with others. That is the reason why it said it would formally share with the media, if it decides to work with any other party or individual.The immediate reason for Prashant team’s clarification is a report that has appeared in the national media about his latest move to launch an online platform to hunt for a leader for 2019 parliament elections.

The platform, called the National Agenda Forum, is a part-recruiting tool where people can also register to help the leader win next year’s general election.People can log on to the NAF and vote on a 10-point agenda of issues they believe India must address on priority as well as nominate a leader they believe can address those issues.The voting closes on August 14 and results would be declared on August 15. There is a suspicion that the NAF has been floated to set the agenda for the re-nomination of Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister.

However, I-PAC clarified on twitter that it was more than just a survey exercise and urged the people not to draw conclusions as the process was yet to be concluded.In March this year, there were reports that Prashant had a closed door meeting with BJP president Amit Shah, leading to speculations that he had signed up with the BJP for 2019.

The Telugu Desam Party has alleged that Prashant, who is also working for YSRC, was playing instrumental role in bringing the YSRC into the BJP fold.

The Telugu Desam Party leaders’ so-called fight for special category status to Andhra Pradesh has gained an overdose so much that the people are frustrated to witness their high drama again and again.The TDP lost the no-confidence motion in the Lok Sabha against the Narendra Modi government and none other than Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserted that it is not possible to grant special category status to Andhra Pradesh.The same thing was reiterated by Union home minister Rajnath Singh in Rajya Sabha a couple of days later.

And BJP member in Rajya Sabha G V L Narasimha Rao also got a reply from the Centre as to why AP would not be able to get the status as it was getting more than it could have got from the special category status.Yet, the TDP MPs are continuously creating ruckus inside and outside Parliament, obviously for the sake of media focus. They know fully well that despite their drama, the Centre will not yield to their demand.

What is worse, Naidu is directing the whole drama in the name of teleconference with the MPs, asking them to continue their fight against the Centre and carry forward the spirit to public. So, this drama will continue till August 10, when the Parliament session ends.Any overdose of drama will only counter-productive for Naidu. Since the Centre has made its stand clear, what Naidu should do is to leave it to the people to decide in the next elections.

In the meantime, he can continue to sustain the issue by speaking on it in public meetings and rallies.The party leaders should go into the people and explain how the Centre remained adamant despite their fight.

So, there is no point in continuing the drama in New Delhi, but the TDP should take the battle into the people.

Mahesh Babu’s adopted village Burripalem in Guntur district had a VIP guest on Friday. Mahesh Babu’s sister and Guntur MP Galla Jayadev’s wife G Padmavati conducted a surprise visit to the village and inspected the dayworks taken by his brother.

She visited the newly constructed school, anganwadi centre and road development works in Burripalem which shot to fame after Mahesh Babu adopted the village marking his blockbuster movie – Srimanthudu.

Padmavati gave a patient hearing to the problems and demands put forth by local people. She assured construction of Shiva temple and also walking track on local water tank. She said the MP funds will also be utilized to improve basic amenities in the villages.

Notwithstanding the appeal made by power star and Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan not to drag the controversy further over YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy’s comments against his marital life and close the issue once and for all, there have still been reactions from various quarters.

On Friday, Pawan’s brother from mega family K Nagababu also lashed out at Jaganmohan Reddy for making personal comments against the power star with reference to his married life.

“Jagan has made the comments without any proper understanding about Pawan’s marriages. My brother did not cheat any woman by making false promises. He has married a third woman only after duly divorcing his first two wives as per the law,” he pointed out.

He said taking divorce was something purely a personal issue between a husband and wife.

“Pawan has legally divorced his wives. Neither his first wife nor his second wife Renu Desai had made any complaint or comment against him. There is absolutely no dispute with his marriages. I don’t know why Jagan had to make such comments on Pawan who had followed law,” Nagababu said.

“Why? Are there not any political leaders who are married but having extra-marital affairs?” he asked.

Stating that there was a political agenda behind Jagan’s unsavoury comments against Pawan, Nagababu said the YSRC president had targeted Pawan personally because he had no ability to counter him politically.

“He is feeling insecure and frustrated politically,” the mega brother opined.
