Many have learnt watching them and more or less take care to invest for their family. Of course, there are a few who blow up their money, but that is barely minimal number.It is widely rumoured that megastar Chiranjeevi has heavy investments in Chennai in real estate. Since his family has Karnataka links, he is said to have bought 10s of acres of coffee estate out there.

Of late, a commercial hero gets anything between Rs 2 crore and Rs 20 crore. Since he has had three back to back hits and since he has another three films lined up for release, he is said to be in a good position financially, hence the investments.

Giving huge relief to movie goers, Telangana government has issued orders to multiplexes to sell all food items on MRP from August 1st.Akun Sabharwal, the top cop who recently dealt Drugs Menace, held meeting with all the multiplexes officials in city and asked them to all packaged food items should not be sold beyond MRP rate on them.

Akun Sabharwal heads as controller of Telangana State Legal Meteorology department. In failing to implement this order, the license to Multiplexes will be closed down.The theater chains have been selling food at exorbitant prices. In some multiplexes, a water bottle is sold for Rs 100, when the same bottle outside the theaters available for Rs 20. Even the popcorn should be sold in grams instead of Jumbo or in bucket method.

However, outside food is not allowed in theaters though Maharashtra government is planning to introduce this in their state.

Multiplexes are objecting to this and they have agreed to sell the food items at MRP.

The other day we heard reports that Bollywood actress Vidya Balan has met the family members of NTR and here is a picture of Vidya with Balakrishna.

Vidya received a warm welcome from the Nandamuri family members and NTR’s elder daughter Lokeswari has presented Vidya a saree which is part of the Telugu tradition and Nandamuri family is known for giving utmost importance to customs.The national award winning actress is going to play the role of Nandamuri Basavatarakam in the biopic of NTR. During her interaction with NTR family members, Vidya learnt few details about Basavatarakam.

Vidya has joined the sets of NTR biopic on Wednesday which is progressing Ramoji Film City.Krish is directing NTR biopic while Sai Korrapati and Vishnu Induri are co-producing the movie along with hero Balakrishna.

Sailaja Reddy Alludu overseas rights were sold to LA Telugu that released Agnyaathavasi in overseas.As LA Telugu lost around Rs. 11 crore for Agnyathavasi, the makers of Sailaja Reddy Alludu (Sithara Entertainments is a part of Haarika Hassine Creatations) decided to sell the rights of this medium budget movie to the same buyer.LA Telugu also bagged the overseas distribution rights of Harika Hassine’s upcoming biggie Aravinda Sametha.

Radha Krishna of Harika Hassine has a policy of maintaining relations with single buyer for each area. He don’t consider other options unless he has problems with the current buyer.LA Telugu did a fine job in promoting Agnyathavasi aggressively and also releasing it in a massive way thus ensuring $ 2Million gross in USA.

However, Vasudeva Reddy of I Dream Movies vied for the overseas rights of Sailaja Reddy Alludu through director Maruthi.

Initially, producers have shown interest to make a deal with iDream Movies, but later backed out. Vasudeva Reddy came forward to pay Rs. 3.15 crore for overseas distribution rights of Naga Chaitanya-Ramya Krishna starrer. But the producers closed the deal for LA Telugu for around Rs. 3.10 crore.

Vasudeva Reddy felt cheated as the producers used his offer to bag good price for the film from another buyer.

Haarika Hassine however offered another deal for Vasudeva Reddy to get a share from LA Telugu for all their upcoming films (Aravinda Sametha, Sailaja Reddy Alludu, Sharwanand-Sudheer Varma film). But Vasudeva Reddy is not okay with bagging a share in Aravinda Sametha as huge amount of risk involved.

Radha Krishna reportedly made it clear to Vasudeva Reddy that he will get a share in the business only if he is okay with three film deal.On the other hand, director Maruthi also is a bit unhappy with the producers for not honoring his man.Meanwhile, Sailaja Reddy Alludu that bagged a handsome offer from overseas buyer will need to collect around $1 Million in US to be a safe venture.

A recent report in a newspaper about producer Danayya brought the murky ego issues among stars.

The newspaper carried that Danayya didn’t pay the full remuneration to director Koratala Siva and heroine Kiara Advani which the producer vehemently denied.If I had not given her full remuneration, why would she be acting in my current production opposite Ram Charan, the producer questioned.

Who planted this gossip?

Industry people suspect that a big star’s team must be behind this news. This star is said to be insecure about recent developments.

Since Danayya is busy producing many big movies with Rajamouli starring Ram Charan and NTR and Boyapati’s movie with Ram Charan, he is least worried about the gossip. However, industry is shocked that star’s team stooped so low to tarnish the image of a producer.There is also talk that the star who has magnanimous heart is not aware of what is happening behind him.

Industry people say the big star should check what games his “close persons” are indulging in.

RX100, the low budget emotional love saga, continues to amaze trade pundits. After a staggering first weekend and the Monday that followed, RX100 maintained its momentum and had a very good Tuesday. Yesterday, the film collected nearly Rs 80 lakhs in Andhra, Nizam and Ceded regions.

RX100’s total 6 day AP and Telangana share tallies at Rs 6.83 crores with a gross of Rs 12.70 crore. Worldwide, the film has collected Rs 7.5 crore share from a gross of Rs 14 crores.RX100’s first week worldwide gross is expected to be in the range of Rs 15.2-15.3 crores, with over Rs 8 crore share. This is a phenomenal number for a film made with a small budget of about Rs 2 crores.

RX100’s makers have recovered their investment in just 2 days. Thanks to the stupendous buzz, the film is also getting great offers from non-theatrical sources like satellite, digital and remake rights.

Prabhas is quietly working for ‘Saaho’ in Hyderabad after he returned from long days of Abu Dhabi stint.He’s determined to wrap up ‘Saaho’ as early as possible without further delay as it is leading to several rumors about the project.The Rs 250 Cr multi-language movie is being made in large scale with never-before-seen action stunts. However the team is still not clear when they can finish the entire shoot.

The multi-lingual film requires meticulous planning for release. Release date has to be locked for Hindi version nearly eight months before the actual date. Hence, Prabhas is focusing on its front.T Series bought the movie’s theatrical rights for Hindi version for whopping Rs 120 Cr and they are very particular about release date because the promotions for Hindi version begin six months in advance.

Meanwhile, Prabhas will be formally launching another film in the first week of August and the profits on this new film will completely go to his pedda nanna Krishnam Raju and other family members.

This is as close as a debut gets to a tragedy. Janhvi Kapoor is poised for her big launch. It can’t get any bigger than Karan Johar, can it now? Unless she got Sanjay Leela Bhansali to launch her, which she didn’t.

Sridevi must be very happy seeing her daughter shining even before her debut. Strangely I am reminded of Smita Patil who passed away long before she could see her son become an actor. The child never saw his mother. Today Prateik is struggling to make his presence felt.

Prateik has gone through more than his share of struggle. Being motherless and living away from his father actor-politician Raj Babbar, Prateik was rudderless and on drugs. We met for the first time when he came home for the promotion of his film Issaq. He was accompanied by his very pretty leading lady Amyra Dastur who told me Prateik was “afraid” of me.

I tried to put Prateik at ease.

“Sir, please look after me,” he beseeched with his pleading eyes. I felt as protective as I could for the vulnerable child-man. Prateik has Anubhav Sinha’s Mulk coming up where he plays an Indian Muslim accused of terror activities. It’s a thankless role. But I have a feeling Prateik will bring his own insecurities into play while portraying this outcast.

I feel a similar surge of protectiveness for Jahnvi, though she hardly needs any sympathy from anybody. Fiercely protected by her mother when alive, Janhvi and her younger sister Khushi have coped ably with their mother’s sudden loss. During her lifetime I don’t think Sridevi was too keen to see her daughters become actresses.

I remember speaking to her on this topic. The proud protective mother always said she wanted her daughters to get a proper education. “Let them first finish studying, the we’ll see what they want to,” she once told me softly, as rumours of Janhvi’s debut had begun to gather momentum. Sridevi didn’t much care for such talk.

From what I could make out she wasn’t keen on her daughters becoming actresses. Not that she ever said this out loud. But every time we’d speak on the subject she would grow worried and uncertain. The lack of a formal education in her own career bothered Sridevi. She had begun facing the camera from the time she was just 4.

“When was the time to study? I was so hungry for a formal education. I don’t want my children to undergo the same hunger,” Sridevi once told me.

Boney was always more keen to make actors out of his daughters. In this matter I believe the husband and wife begged to defer. Boney felt, ‘Jeena yahan marna yahan’ Sridevi felt, ‘Ab bahot ho gaya.’ Now that it is happening I don’t know how happy Sridevi would have been to see her daughter in Dhadak.

The film comes with a heavy baggage. The Marathi version Sairat became an instant classic. I doubt Dhadak would get the same ovation. Remakes inevitably suffer in comparison. Nobody in his right mind would look for Sairat in Dhadak. It would be as sacrilegious as looking for Sholay in Ram Gopal Varma’s Aag.

Grapevine is abuzz with the rumors that Kumari 21 F fame Hebah Patel is going to enter Bigg Boss house as wildcard.A fake report claiming to be leaked from a Bigg Boss house technician that is making rounds on the internet fueled these rumors as one of the instruction in it reads “Clean the guest room for Hebah madam.”

However, Hebah took to Instagram to put an end to the rumors. She has put a status update to clear the air.“Only in my house not in any other house!! Not a part of any reality shows!!” posted Hebah thus writing off the rumors.

Hebah is eagerly waiting for the release of her upcoming film 24 Kisses starring Arun Adith of Garuda Vega fame as the male lead.
