Shocking: Facebook Sign Up Requires Aadhar!

Share

Majority of Indians, who are already annoyed with the govt pushing them to link ‘Aadhar’ details with SIM cards and Bank accounts, were in for a rude shock as Facebook has also started demanding Aadhar for sign up.

The shock factor, which translated into people’s chaos on other social media platforms, alleviated slowly after learning that Facebook was asking only ‘new users’ to enter their names as per their Aadhar card while signing up. Facebook isn’t asking for Aadhar number, and that entering name as per Aadhar card isn’t ‘mandatory’. Facebook claims it is testing this new feature in India so as to counter fake accounts, and promised that it will protect users’ data.

Meanwhile, the news of ‘Facebook demanding Aadhar details’ has resulted in chaos from netizens. Some even trolled Facebook as well as the govt. Some expressed doubts that the govt. may persuade Facebook to make Aadhar mandatory for all users in future.

Sonia cycles during ‘de-stress’ Vacation in Goa

Share

Panaji: Days after relinquishing Congress affairs to her son, former party chief Sonia Gandhi is on a “de-stress” vacation in Goa, and an image of her cycling at a resort here has created waves on the social media.

Sonia Gandhi, who arrived here after Christmas, is likely to stay here till early January, after ringing in the New Year. This is her third vacation in Goa this year.

The 71-year-old leader — who guided the destiny of the Indian National Congress for 19 years – took time off to enjoy riding a bicycle on the seafacing lawns of five-star resort-hotel, The Leela Goa, in Varca, a sleepy village in south Goa, surprising the hotel’s guests, staffers and outsiders.

Attired in a long white kurta and dark leggings, she smiled warmly as some guests requested her for pictures and others posed for selfies beside her, and chatted with locals and foreigners.

Though some reports speculate that Sonia Gandhi has come with some close friends, this could not be officially confirmed from either the party in Goa or New Delhi.

“Some pictures make you happy. This is one of them,” said Bollywood actor-producer Riteish Deshmukh, who uploaded a picture on his Facebook account of Sonia cycling and wished her “happiness and best of health”.

Many on social media even commented that for a change, it was Sonia and not Rahul whose vacation is in the limelight and while most “liked” it, some also smirked at her pictures. When contacted, Goa Pradesh Congress President Shantaram Naik told IANS he was “not aware of her visit, since it was private, and she could not be disturbed at all for anything”.

Incidentally, Rahul Gandhi addressed the 133rd Congress Foundation Day in New Delhi on Thursday for the first time as Congress President. In the past, Rahul Gandhi had raked up controversies for his “vacations” abroad and critics had even labelled him a “part-time” politician.

Nani Declares War With Them

Share

Natural Star Nani is the most reliable actor in Tollywood. Result of his latest outing MCA is best example to substantiate. Despite the film opened to battering from critics and public mixed talk, the Sriram Venu directorial is raking big numbers at Box Office just due to brand Nani alone carries.

Apparently MCA is set for million dollar mark in overseas and Nani is set himself to put his popularity at test with his next.

Yes, Nani’s latest movie ‘Krishnarjuna Yudham’ release date is locked for April 12, 2018. This means, Nani joined the summer battle declaring war against biggies like Rajinikanth’s Robo 2.0, Mahesh Babu’s Bharat Ane Nenu and Allu Arjun’s Naa Peru Surya which are likely to hit the screens in same season.

Usually, Nani loves to release his films in safer and non-compete zones. Nonetheless, this time he is clashing with star heroes films, a clear show of confidence. We need to wait and see how tough will be this battle.

Interim, Krishnarjuna Yudham is in last leg of shooting. Sahu Garapati and Harish Peddi are producing the film, while Venkat Boyanapalli is presenting it. The action thriller is being helmed by Merlapaka Gandhi of ‘Venkatadri Express’ and ‘Express Raja’ fame.

Rajinikanth’s Request to Fans

Share

Tamil people are allegedly infamous for their extreme fanism, they don’t think twice to fall at the feet or even procrastinate before their revered personalities, be it politicians or film stars. South Superstar Rajinikanth has made a request to all such fans.

Rajini told his fans not to fall at his feet. He told them to fall only at the feet of God and parents. “Don’t fall at the feet of someone just because they have got wealth, fame or power,” the superstar told his fans on Thursday, the third of his six-day interaction with fans in Tamil Nadu.

Reports say that Rajini felt awkward as his fans, who have attended the meeting on the first two days, fell at his feet when they came near him to take photographs. On Thursday, during his address, Rajini specifically brought up the topic and asked fans not to fall at his feet from henceforth.

Rajini has the other day declared to announce his political stand on Dec 31st, the last day of his fans’ meetings.

KTR Receives ‘Special Invitation’ From Switzerland

Share

Telangana Industries and IT Minister KT Rama Rao has got a big surprise. He has been invited to attend the two day annual conference of the World Economic Forum (WEF) to be held from January 17 at Davos in Switzerland.

Generally, the Forum invite only union ministers and Chief Ministers to the annual conferences. It was first time that a minister from a state government was invited to the big conference in the world.

In a communication, the WEF informed KTR that it was overwhelmed by successful conduct of World Entrepreneurship Summit (WES) in Hyderabad recently.

Taking it an opportunity, the minister will hold meetings with CEO and chairmen of the world companies and explain the business prospects in Telangana. He will showcase Telangana as a destination for investments and explain incentives provided by the government through TS-iPASS policy. State Resident Commissioner in New Delhi Arvind Kumar and IT secretary Jayesh Ranjan also take part in the meeting.

Double Surprise In Agnyaathavaasi Second Half

Share

One of the most anticipated films for the coming Holiday season is none other than “Agnyaathavaasi” which is hitting cinemas on January 10th as a Sankranthi treat for Telugu audiences.

And this film is fully loaded with Pawan Kalyan’s charisma which itself is enough to do wonders at box office. On top of it, being a Trivikram directorial, the film has a huge number of surprise elements stuffed inside. But the most interesting thing anyone is waiting for will be two things for sure.

If one happens to be the cameo role of Venkatesh, with whom Pawan is a good friend and also acted alongside him in Gopala Gopala, the other one is the song Kodaka Koteswara Rao crooned by Powerstar himself. More or less, these two surprises are going to be unveiled in the second half of the movie only, says a source.

Generally many plans these types of surprises in such a way that one will be one first half of the film and other will be in second half. But it seems like Trivikram will play his magic only by the content but not just to entertain audiences in a formulaic way.

Okka Kshanam Movie Review

Share

Director Anand’s previous film Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada was an acclaimed hit. The talented filmmaker has come up with another interesting thriller Okka Kshanam that has a very interesting premise. Anand made an engaging thriller with the concept of ‘parallel life’, which would surely appeal to people that look for new kind of entertainment.

Story :

Jeeva (Sirish) and Jyotsna (Surabhi) fall in love and the couple comes across another couple Srinivas and Swathi (Srinivas, Seerat) that is going through a troubled marriage. Jeeva and Jo realize that their life is similar to that of Srinivas and Swathi. Intrigued by this they approach a physicist, who tells them about parallel life. He stresses that everything that happens in Swathi’s life will repeat in Jyotsna’s life. Swathi gets killed and Srinivas is arrested. Now Jyotsna fears to be with Jeeva as he could kill her at any point.

Performances:

Allu Sirish did an okay job as the leading man. He is improving with each film, but could have done better. Surabhi also is average with a character that has a lot of potential. Seerat Kapoor is fine and Avasarala Srinivas fits the bill. Praveen, Satya are good in supporting roles. Dasari Arun is okay in an extended cameo.

Technicalities:

VI Anand thrives to deal with different concepts in each film. After trying out horror-comedy, the director has now dealt with the parallel life concept that is totally new for our audience. He weaved a decent romance vs. destiny tale around the concept that keeps the viewers on the edge of the seat. It is yet another impressive film from the director who will surely grab the attention of movie lovers.

Mani Sharma’s background score is very good and elevates the mood of the film. Cinematography by Sam K Naidu is particularly impressive in the second half. Editing could have been crisper as the screenplay lags at times. Production values are decent.

Thumbs Up:

  • Concept
  • Engaging Second half
  • Background music

Thumbs Down:

  • Ordinary first half
  • Unnecessary comedy bits
  • Dragged final sequences

Analysis:

It is not an easy concept to work with but the director VI Anand has made the complex plot work with a simple screenplay that makes it easy to follow. He takes his time to build it up and the initial scenes are not so interesting. In fact most parts in the first half are slightly boring. Things get interesting towards the interval and the second half runs on a breakneck pace until the actual mystery unfolds.

Second half is where the real strength of the film lies as the director connects the dots well and keeps the viewers on the edge of the seat. There are some tense moments that are placed nicely in between to draw full attention of the viewers. However the mystery behind Swathi’s death is very cinematic and unconvincing. Director should have gone for a slick climax rather than a commercialistic climax that drags unnecessarily.

Okka Kshanam isn’t a perfect film, but has a very interesting premise and an engaging second half that is worth a watch. The film is technically slick too. A better first half and convincing final moments would have made it a better film. Having said that Okka Kshanam has enough to separate it from the pack. It is not a usual romance drama although it is basically a love story. Anand also tried to make it a rounded film by adding emotional moments into it. But those aren’t as strong as the conflict itself.

If you are bored of watching the same masala templates and candy romance tales, then Okka Kshanam is the film that is worth betting on. It is one of those rare films where our filmmakers have come up with an out of the box idea. The film may not appeal to the B and C centers audience, but should strike a chord with the urban audience.

Verdict: Worth your time.

#MegaRemix: This Time From Kondaveeti Donga

Share

Megastar Chiranjeevi’s nephew Sai Dharam Tej, who has already remixed his uncle’s three chartbuster songs, is gearing up to make it four.

Gulte is exclusively breaking the news that a super hit song from Chiranjeevi’s blockbuster film, “Kondaveeti Donga” is being remixed in Tej’s new film that is being directed by VV Vinayak. The song is ‘Chamaku Chamaku Cham’, an Ilayaraja composition. It was an energetic duet, featuring Chiru and Vijayashanthi in the original.

Tej had earlier remixed Chiranjeevi’s songs in three of his films – Rey, Subramanyam for Sale and Supreme, and the latter two turned out to be decent earners. Post Supreme, Tej reportedly suffered three box office flops, and none of them featured a remix song. This probably has persuaded the makers of his new film to remix Chiru’s song for hit sentiment.

Furthermore, director Vinayak, who is an ardent fan of Chiru, has also voted in favor of remixing his favorite hero’s song. He had earlier remixed Megastar’s ‘Subhalekha Rasukunna’ song in his ‘Nayak’, starring Ram Charan in lead role.

The film, starring Lavanya Tripathi, is eyeing February 2018 release. ‘Intelligent’ and ‘Durga Bhai’ are the titles being considered.

Superstar To Cash On Saudi Arabia’s Decision

Share

Super Rajnikanth’s latest movie “2 Point O”, which is being shot by S Shankar for a long time, is finally getting ready to release on April 28th, 2018. Already the producers have started promotions of the movie and are also resorting to various first-things of a sort to create huge hype for the film.

From advertisements on commercial aeroplanes to cricket stadiums, 2 Point O is leaving no stone unturned such that the film will rake in huge moolah in release week itself. And now, the decision of Saudi Arabia government to revoke the ban on exhibiting films in the desert country will be used by Rajnikanth to the most. Nearly after 30 years, Saudi has decided to screen movies like earlier and 2 Point O will make most of it.

Generally, for Indian films releasing in countries like UAE and other middle east nations, there will be a strict censor about any stuff related to Hindu gods. Those countries won’t allow display of any other religion quite publicly and it is the same with Saudi Arabia too. But with 2.0 being a science fiction movie, rules may not hamper the film’s chances, so the makers are planning a huge release in the middle east including Saudi Arabia.

In all likelihood, 2 Point O might rake up more than 400 crores nett in its first week alone from across the globe, predict analysts. Let’s see!!
