Rajinikanth Mediates between Shankar & Lyca?

Share

We have seen umpteen examples when some so-called ‘perfectionist’ directors frustrate their film producers by postponing the planned release dates and keep carving out their films. This directly results in increase of budget, missing of good release dates, and if at all the film gets negative talk when it finally releases, the producer goes bankrupt.

In the latest case, it is heard that Lyca Productions, the co-producer of Megastar Chiranjeevi’s “Khaidi No.150” and the sole producer of Superstar Rajinikanth’s sci-fi extravaganza, “2.0”, had a huge tiff with director Shankar. And, the reason is release date.

“2.0” was originally planned for Diwali 2017. The release date then shifted to January 2018, and then to Summer 2018, and the latest to August/November 2018. It is heard that unimpressed with the VFX work, Shankar had sought more time and funds from Lyca, which frustrated them as the film had already been postponed multiple times. They wanted to release the film in Summer, but Shankar wanted another 3-4 months time.

Reports further said that Rajinikanth had to intervene to sort out the differences between Shankar and Lyca. He handed over the worldwide rights of his another film, “Kaala” to Lyca, permitted them to release the film in the slot that was booked for “2.0”, and convinced them to give more time to Shankar. Lyca was happy to have got the chance to release a Rajinikanth-starrer, Kaala if not ‘2.0’, and Shankar got time to carve out the film as he had envisioned it.

It has been more than fifteen months since the release of Ram Charan’s last film, ‘Dhruva’, and hence fans are eagerly waiting for the release of ‘Rangasthalam’, which is scheduled for a worldwide release on March 30, 2018.

With just a little over one month left for the theatrical release, makers plan to intensify the promotional activities. According to the latest reports, a grand pre-release event is being planned on March 18, the auspicious eve of Ugadi festival. The event will be held at RK beach in Vizag and attended by scores of Mega fans. Chiranjeevi will attend as chief guest.

Reportedly, it was Charan’s idea to give a feast to Mega fans on the festival eve by giving them the opportunity of seeing the entire crew of Rangasthalam and also none other than Megastar Chiranjeevi from very close.

There is also a plan to conduct a Thank You meet in Hyderabad post the film’s release, in the second week of April.

Finally, the bigwigs of Tollywood made sure that Superstar Rajnikanth’s latest movie “Kala” gets a solo release. Oops!! That’s not we meant to say. The bigwigs made sure that there will be a pretty gap of two weeks between Mahesh Babu and Allu Arjun’s mega releases. Here goes the story.

Under the leadership of Allu Arvind, with the sub-leadership of Dil Raju and veteran producer KL Narayana, finally, the producers of Naa Peru Surya and Bharat Anu Nenu have appeared for a discussion. As expected, the discussion was to maintain a gap between these two releases and it got succeeded.

NPS producers Nagababu, Lagadapati Sreedhar and Bunny Vasu have attended the meet to catch up with DVV Danayya. With Dil Raju helping both these films at the distribution level, the whole gang is said to have sorted out theatres issue. Yes, in the end, it is all about sharing theatres such that each other will not spoil other’s revenues.

Ultimately, Bharat Anu Nenu maker agreed to come up on April 20th, while Naa Peru Surya will be releasing on May 4th. In between, they have left April 27th to Kaala which is also being released people close to these producers only. Bollywood Stunned By Telugu Twins Punches

Share

On one side, Baaghi 2 trailer hasn’t impressed those folks who are hardcore fans of Kshanam movie. But on the flip side, the trailer of Baaghi 2 impressed those who love to see adrenaline rushing action films on Indian screen done by Indians rather Hollywood dubbed movies.

Especially the scenes where the hero gets hit in the police station and other fights are terrific we have seen. Now its time to talk about the contribution of our very own fight masters who have choreographed those scenes. Yes, Ram-Lakshman, the famous twins of Telugu industry have composed almost 50% fights of the films. These days Ram Chella and Lakshman Chella are working on many Bollywood films as their commercial style of fights is being loved by Hindi folks very well. And now, Baaghi 2 also got their mark all over.

Other sequences related to army fights and other sword episodes are done by two other fight masters including Kechha (Iddarammayilatho fame). With fights being the backbone of commercial films like songs and dialogues, no doubt, Ram-Lakshman duo is going to showcase their punch power in Bollywood post this film’s released.

Directed by Ahmed Khan, Baaghi 2 is an adapted version of Kshanam movie. The film is set to hit cinemas on March 30th.

I’ve Proofs Against IAS, IPS Officers – Vijay Sai Reddy

Share

Undeterred by the strong retort from the Andhra Pradesh IAS Officers Association, Vijay Sai Reddy, YSR Congress Party’s Rajya Sabha MP and A-2 in CBI cases in connection with Jagan’s quid pro quo cases, has today (Feb 22, 2018) reiterated that four IAS, IPS officers in the current government are “helping” the TDP in the “defections”. He alleged that the civil servants are “luring” YSRCP MLAs into TDP and serving to the “personal interests” of CM Chandrababu Naidu. This is a serious and grave allegation from Opposition party on the Centre-caded IAS, IPS officers.

Earlier, Vijay Sai Reddy had alleged that the Special Chief Secretary Satish Chandra, IAS officer Rajamouli, IPS Officer AB Venkateswara Rao and one other have been involved in “corruption” and facilitating the “cross over” of YSRCP MLAs into TDP.

Disagreeing to retract his previous remarks, Vijay Sai Reddy claimed that he has “evidences” about the senior IAS, IPS officers involving in “influencing” his party MLAs. He said, “I reiterate that four officials are blatantly violating civil services conduct rule under which they are bound by Constitution. They are working for the personal interests of the Chief Minister and not for the public.”

Earlier, the association has taken strong exception to the “threats” made by Vijay Sai Reddy. “Such threats of vindictive action against a civil servant is deplorable and the Association appeals to all political parties to desist from such irresponsible behavior in demoralising civil service which is entrusted with accomplishment of challenging tasks,” the Association said in its previous statement.

The Association is yet to respond on the fresh comments of Vijay Sai Reddy. Looks like, the IAS officers are likely to take up the issue much seriously and going by the present situation, a legal action against Reddy seems to be imminent. However, undettered Reddy says that he is ready for any sort of “legal battle”.

Talk: Where Are Those Item Girls?

Share

At one point in time, one must realize that nothing stays the same forever and the film industry is no exception to prove this statement true. The audience get bored of seeing the same things over and over again on screen and the same happened with item numbers.

Though we have been witnessing various kinds of movies hitting the screens, the number of commercial movies that are being made is not getting affected. One of the most popular elements in the commercial flicks is the item songs. The fast beat songs, spicy lyrics and glamorous girls are something that the movie lovers can never get enough of. But do you remember the last item girl you have ever seen on screen?

Well, in the past there used to be a particular set of ladies who are only visible in item numbers. Whether it was Jaya Malini in the 80s or Mumaith Khan in the 2000s, those are called as item bombs and would glitter in item songs only. Mumaith Khan who danced in some chartbusters like Ippatikinkaa naa vayasu and Nora Fatehi who danced beside Prabhas in Manohari song can be considered as the last of their kind. Nora has done 3-4 songs later and then vanished.

But things have changed these days. The heroines who are playing the leading ladies are now doing the item songs. Whether it is Anjali in Sarrainodu, Kajal in Janatha Garage or Shruthi Hassan in Aagadu, actresses are taking over the place of item bombs in the industry. With female leads themselves taking up their jobs leaving the poor item girls with zero work, these specialist dancers are nowhere found.

In upcoming Rangasthalam, whose director Sukumar is famous for churning out item numbers, got Pooja Hegde on board to sizzle as Jigel Rani. We have to see if someone will get rid of heroines and bring any special girls yet again.

Brahmanandam Adopts Gundu’s Son

Share

There is a prevalent speculation in the Telugu film industry that senior comedian Brahmanandam is a very miser person and that he doesn’t give a single paisa to anyone if it doesn’t benefit him. Well, here is his kind deed which may change people’s perception of him.

When Brahmanandam recently went to pay his tribute to deceased comedian, Gundu Hanumantha Rao, he became quite emotional. He hugged Rao’s son, Adithya and consoled him. This is the known story.

What followed up is, Brahmi has reportedly taken Adithya under his wings as he doesn’t have anyone to take care of him (his mother and sister passed away before father, Gundu Hanumantha Rao died). Brahmi promised him to look after him until he gets a job, marries and settles down in life. Quite a noble and inspiring act indeed from the veteran comedian.
