Priya amassed around 4.5 million followers on Instagram, beating the Facebook founder and now Instagram owner Mark Zuckerberg.

While Varrier currently has 4.5 million followers, Zuckerberg has only 4 million followers on the platform. She was the lone actress gained huge popularity on social media in a short time in the Indian film industry.

Surprisingly, Malayalam super Star Mohan Lal and herthrobe Dulquer Salman were also lagging behind Priya in social media followers. Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan, who’s great in everything he appears, is totally unrecognizable in this new avatar, isn’t it? For his upcoming Hindi film, Hrithik is portraying real-life figure Anand Kumar, a man who emerged as one of the most renowned mathematicians in India and co-founded ‘Super 30’ IIT academy.

Anand, in his early stages of life, used to sell paapads in the evenings to assist his mother’s small business in Patna, Bihar. In the picture, you can see Hrithik selling paapads on a bicycle and that is part of the role he’s playing.

With Kaabil last year, the most-handsome actor amazed everyone in a blind role and he’s back to steal the hearts again. Titled Super-30, this biopic film will cover the journey of Anand from struggling days to becoming the top mathematician and best educationalist in India. A noted TV actress Mrunal Thakur is the leading lady of Super-30, which is being directed by Vikas Bahl.

The first schedule of the biopic was recently wrapped, and it is expected to light screens in November this year. Currently, some key scenes are being canned on lead actors in Jaipur city.

The recently-released Telugu films, Tholiprema and Awe, are having a dream run at overseas box-office. Having won the appraisal from both critics and audiences, the two films collectively raked in Rs10+ Crores in US till date.

While Varun Tej and Raashi Khanna starrer ‘Tholiprema’ amassed Rs 6.30 Crores ($971,581) in ticket sales to become the second million-dollar film for the actor, Awe has crossed half-a-million mark and going super strong in US markets – all thanks to the craze of Natural Star, the 33-year-old actor who has a legion of fans in United States with an emotional connect to his movies.

The successive youthful picks by Nani have appealed to overseas millennials in the past and now, his production venture is also working bigtime for the actor. Awe, according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, packed a punch by collecting Rs 4.13 Crores ($636,931) in 4 days of release.

Starring Kajal Aggarwal, Nithya Menon, Regina Cassandra, Eesha Rebba and others in lead roles, Awe is being seen as a path-breaking film across all multiplexes and ‘A’ centers. The actor who turned producer with Awe is totally overwhelmed with the response from everywhere.

On other hand, Tholiprema is unstoppable in its second week of run and the solid box-office numbers prompt that the love story is set to enter the million-dollar club in next one or two days. This is the second record-breaking film from Varun Tej, after Fidaa.

A rumour has been doing rounds in political and media circles for the last few hours that senior actor and Telugu Desam Party MLA from Hindupur Nandamuri Balakrishna is planning to convert his Jubilee Hills residence in Hyderabad into a huge mall.

According to the talk, Balayya has already signed a development agreement with a prominent builder to convert his house into a massive commercial complex. And the demolition of the existing house for the construction of the mall will begin shortly.

Though it is rather unreliable gossip, one cannot completely rule it out. Balakrishna’s house is in a strategic location in the corner of two major roads.

One side, there are several commercial complexes and on the other side, there are residences. His brother-in-law and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has his residence two lanes beyond Balakrishna’s house.

So, it is no surprise if Balakrishna gives his house for development into a mall. However, the roads on both sides are already congested and during peak hours, one can witness traffic jams for hours.

Under these conditions, one doubts whether he would get permission for the commercial complex at the corner of two major roads. But given the bonhomie between Naidu and Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, anything is possible.

By the way, Balakrishna has several other properties in the twin cities. May be he is planning for a mall in one of those properties. And the gossip might have been created out of this.

If the buzz from film circles is to be believed, Ram Charan-Sukumar’s upcoming film Rangasthalam is not a love story as being publicized.

Although the romance thread between Ram Charan and Samantha is the main attraction, the actual plot is surrounded around a murder mystery.

Sukumar likes to mix various genres and surprise the audience. In Rangasthalam we will see the protagonist who has hearing problems in search of his brother’s killer. Charan and Aadhi Pinisetty are playing brothers in this crime thriller cum love story.

A deaf person searching for the dreaded gang that kills his elder brother brings an exciting angle to this period love story set in 1980s.

First half of the film is a breezy entertainer with interesting episodes between the lead pair and bro-mance between Charan and Aadhi. But the second half will be intense with violent action episodes according to the buzz.

Released in 2010, ‘Ye Maaya Chesave’ is the romantic drama that has attained cult status over the years. It established the career of Samantha and gave his first success to Naga Chaitanya, needless to say the film also laid the foundation for an association between the two actors which finally made them become real life partners. A sequel for this cult romantic drama is on the cards the story is not what fans would expect.

Director Gautham Menon, who made the original film in Telugu and Tamil separately, has recently disclosed the story idea for the sequel. “After his debut film Jessie, Karthik becomes a successful filmmaker, but his love life fails. When he attends a friend’s wedding, he meets his three friends who are not into the film business. It is an emotional ride among the four friends, who decide to spend time together on a road trip”, Gautham Menon reportedly revealed in a recent media interaction.

Going by Menon’s idea, the sequel seems to be a road movie, connecting by four love stories, of four protagonists, each from Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam industries. Menon also confirmed having Madhavan, Puneet Rajkumar and Tovino Thomas from Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam respectively on board. The lead actor from Telugu is yet to be finalized.

AR Rahman, who scored music for Ye Maaya Chesave, will score music for the sequel too, which  will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. Gautham Menon disclosed that he would take the project onto floors after he completes his ongoing films.
