In truth, it’s no surprise to hear rumors about a love-affair between heroes and heroines. And, very rarely, we get to read about the relationship rumors involving a heroine and director. In one of such speculations, Tholiprema star Raashi Khanna was allegedly linked with 35-year old ‘Supreme’ director Anil Ravipudi.

After Supreme, Raashi made a special appearance in one of the songs of Anil’s ‘Raja -The Great’ -featuring Ravi Teja and Mehreen Pirzada. That was more than enough for gossipmongers to set the rumor mill spinning among Filmnagar circles. Responding to gossip for the first time, Raashi out rightly quashed off saying ‘they are stupid rumors’.

The Delhi-girl tried to clear things up by adding that Anil has been her good friend right from the days of Supreme and the guest appearance in ‘Raja-The Great’ happened only because of that friendship with Anil and actor Ravi Teja. ‘It’s okay to write on us, if there’s anything between us. But, how can they cook up such a blunt rumor from nowhere,’ wondered Raashi.

‘I may be an actress but most-importantly, I’m a daughter and a normal girl like everyone else. But, when I read such faux pas rumors, it hurts me a lot,’ said Raashi by clarifying that she’s dating no one for now. She added – ‘But, during my college days, a senior guy proposed me with a love letter which I handed over to my mom.’

Currently, the young actress is enjoying the super success of her latest outing with Varun Tej- Tholiprema, which’s opened to great response from critics and audiences.

The kinds of stories Maniratnam picks up for his films are always interesting. After making the 1993 serial blasts as the backdrop for “Bombay” he got immense acclaim as a filmmaker. And his latest movie will also have such similar backdrop involving political touch.

We hear that Mani’s latest movie “Nawab” will be shot in the backdrop of a controversial nuclear plant in Tamilnadu and how some activists will be raising voice against it. The film will be typically a story of four brothers and one powerful girl. While there are big names like Arvind Swamy who is playing a politician in the movie and Prakash Raj who got an interesting role are linked with this film, the powerful lady’s role is being played by talented hottie Aditi Rao Hydari. But we have to see who will be the four brothers in the film. And we have Vijay Sethupathi will be playing a powerful cop while Arun Vijay is said to be the lead antagonist

Mani sir rarely repeats a heroine in his films and we have the likes of Manisha Koirala and Aishwarya Rai picked by him twice or earlier. Now we have Aditi Rao Hydari getting similar acclaim after Cheliya movie. For becoming part of this film, Aditi has also walked out of her second Telugu flick where she’s supposed to pair up with Venkatesh while her debut Telugu film is with Sudheer Babu.

We have to see how far Aditi will impress this time in the South. This half Telugu half Muslim girl actually did only glamorous roles in Bollywood, but her south films are turning out to be interesting as they are giving her scope to perform.

The box-office collections of Varun Tej and Raashi Khanna-in second week- are kept climbing with good pace even after the release of ‘Awe’ and ‘Manasuku Nachindi’ on last Friday. Tholiprema had bright numbers of Sunday (day-9), in fact better than day-8, and that the total collections to 28.5 Crore gross and 16.15 Crore share in both the Telugu speaking states. Globally, the film earned a share of 21.20 Crore by end of second weekend and almost all the exhibitors have started reaping in profits from this buy. Helping the film is undoubtedly the favorable reaction from critics and audiences. The romantic entertainer is close to enter the million-dollar club in US and that just goes on to show the strength of love stories at the overseas box office.

In its full run, Tholiprema might end up raking in 45cr gross but it remains to be seen whether these numbers will blow Varun Tej’s previous record-setting film ‘Fidaa’. No matter what the final number is, this will certainly be a record-breaking debut for the filmmaker Venky Atluri.

Sometimes two contrary reports appearing on same media’s publications surely going to push audiences into confusion. A similar thing is happening with “Tholiprema” movie and some media agencies. They say this Varun Tej and Raashi Khanna starrer is the first blockbuster of 2018 on one hand and other side they add that Dil Raju is losing money on Tholiprema as well. How come a blockbuster will dent pockets of the distributor?

Reality is that Tholiprema opened to mind-blowing collections right from Day One and the film collected almost 18+ crores share in its one-week run at the box office. And then, figures are strong even on second Monday (today) if we have to talk by footfalls at theatres. In all likelihood, the film is going to collect nearly 25-29 crores share from box office even if some other film becomes a blockbuster next Friday. But until Rangasthalam’s release on March 30th, there are not many hyped films that could really halt the good run of films like Tholiprema and Bhaagamthie as well.

Now, some media agencies are seen explaining that Dil Raju bought the whole theatrical rights of Tholiprema for 18 crores and he’s going to end up in losses. Already Raju got managed around 21.2 crores share after 9 days run and with himself being distributor he would be getting nearly 29 crores ‘nett’ from the total 40+ crores gross collections. So in what way Dil Raju is getting unlucky with this movie? Surely this is a sort of crying on the happening producer, isn’t it?

We hear that many media agencies are upset with Dil Raju and hence this negative branding on him. They say that Raju is the one who formed a syndicate (LLP) and giving ads to only four top TV channels and two Newspapers but completely avoiding others. For that reason, the other media houses are stressing that Tholiprema is a hit but Raju is burning hands.

Whether Raju gives ads or not, what will happen to journalistic ethics if media folks continue to paint a truth as a lie? Think about it.

Coming to Rangamma Mangamma song, already there has been buzz that Anasuya is playing the role of Rangamma Atha in the movie. But who is that Mangamma?

Though there are reports about various actresses playing that role, we hear that Mangamma is just a rhyming word added to sync with Rangamma but nothing else. There is no special character as Mangamma neither a special actress playing it. But the song will be typically on Anasuya and Charan, and their chemistry will be top notch in it. Also, Samantha is likely to appear in the montages of this song, a source revealed.

We have very few anchors in Telugu industry where they dazzle with glamour on the small screen. After Anasuya and Rashmi, literally, there are no hot anchors in the business. And here comes the new one, Varshini, who happens to be a co-anchor like on super hit dance program Dhee 10.

While many are seeing this Varshini Sounderajan as a new glam insert on the TV space, she is well known by the name Shamili Sounerajan in film circuits. She acted in a couple of films like Chandamama Kathalu and others. She happens to be a model hailing from Hyderabad city and tried her luck with acting. A decision to stay with films and family made Jr NTR disconnect from Big Boss Season 2 which is likely to start very soon. And in that connection, the makers of the program are in search of a new face to host this reality show. And we’re hearing three big names in connection to that.

Firstly Star MAA is said to have approached Allu Arjun to play the host this time. Because if someone has to replace Jr NTR then the hero should of similar stature, the show producers feel. However, there is no positive response from Allu Arjun because he feels that his film commitments and other business interests won’t allow him to cater almost every weekend for 90 days span to Big Boss, revealed a source. But the Stylish Star hasn’t taken any final call.

At the same time, few creative teammates of the program suggested the name of Nani as the show host. They feel that his natural talkative ability for being a former Radio Jockey will help the show get a new touch. At the same time, Nani is little inexpensive than Allu Arjun we have to say. However Nani is an avid movie buff, we mean he loves to be on the sets more than at home. That’s the reason he may not find time to host the show.

And the only other possible option Big Boss makers could approach is none other than Rana Daggubati, who happens to be a pan Indian star. And his show hosting skills are already proved with other shows and awards functions. Frankly speaking, there is no clarity yet about the new host of Big Boss reality show. We have to see who will get a chance to replace Jr NTR.

Selling the film is a complete art. If the hero is in demand, the director is a big star, then nothing could stop the film’s business. But if both of them are struggling, then producers need to use all the tricks up their sleeves to sell a film. And those new age tricks of our producers are now getting all the attention.

With competition going pretty high between various media houses, these days many producers are giving selective leaks to different media houses with the kind of news they want to plant. For example for a film that will not make any business due to the flop show of hero, producers simply give an ‘exclusive news’ to one particular media house about the business of the film. After one publishes it, other media folks will be forced to write about it. And if someone calls back the producer to check facts, he says, yes it is true. So the fake ‘business’ news gets planted everywhere.

Reality is that the film’s business is not even started but looking at this news some other competitors who want to buy the rights to the film will now approach the producer. Using media and tricking the distributors, producers are laughing their way to the bank with these tricks. If a producer himself is giving a news leak, naturally media folks believe it. But after coming to know about the ploy, they are stunned.

Almost all the recent big films are suffering from the problem of ‘routine content’ and their producers are using this trick to generate attention and sell the film. But how long this will happen? Once the distributors and buyers knows about this trick, surely they will back off. Rather these tricks, try better content!!

Surprisingly filmmakers get unusual troubles during the post-production times and that leads to a huge delay in the film’s release. Right now that is what happens with two movies, one is handsome hero Sesh’s film and the other one is creative director Ravibabu’s movie.

More than a year ago, Ravibabu’s Adhugo movie has to be released. Shocking thing is that a piglet is the hero of the film and our director imported one from Australia by spending lakhs of rupees. For a long time, the film is in post-production stage and failing to hit the screens.

Same is the case with Adivi Sesh’s latest movie “Goodachari” for which he has written the story and screenplay yet again like he did for Kshanam movie. This film is in post-production for a long time and missed out the 2017 release. What is the trouble that is hurdling these films from a release?

We are hearing reports that both the films are in need of high-quality VFX output and they are not getting it. Our sources say that the producers of these films are spending decent money and demanding a great VFX output. Every filmmaker these days is expecting their visual effects work to look like Baahubali and that is the major cause of delay for these two films.

We have to see if Sesh and Ravibabu would find a way to complete the computer graphics part at the earliest and under stipulated budget.

Busy bee Samantha got to her natural sense yet again. We mean, she got busy yet again after taking a short break post marriage. After wrapping films like Charan’s Rangasthalam, Vishal’s Abhimanyudu and another Siva Karthikeyan movie, she moved to her new project.

Landing in East Godavari’s Rajahmundry, Samantha has kick-started the shooting of Kannada film U-Turn remake. Actually, the story of this film takes place on a flyover in Bangalore and it has several mysterious twists to it. Though Samantha is said to have chosen to do this in Hyderabad backdrop, we wonder which part of the film she’s shooting in Rajahmundry.

Her fans feel that a star heroine like Samantha, who happens to be a Tamilian married into a Telugu family, is now bringing more attention to Telugu places with her films. After shooting for Rangasthalam around this city on the banks of Godavari, she is once again bringing attention to it. While locals are feeling happy, her fans are rushing to the shooting spot every day to get a glimpse of her.

This Telugu remake of U-Turn will be directed by original film’s director Pawan Kumar only. And the news is that Annapurna Studios will release this film which is being produced by a new producer.
