With a wink in a 40 second Valentine’s day teaser, Malayalam Kutty Priya Prakash Varriar has become the ‘National Crush of India’ and she’s flooded with millions of wishes from both fans and celebrities. With every passing day, one or the other celebrity is attracted to this internet sensation and all them are wishing her a big career and success but only Siddharth had an advice as he doesn’t want her to a one-day sensation.

In a tweet of his style, actor Siddharth compared viral sensation of Priya with an IPL cricketer Paul Valthaty who shot to fame with IPL-4. Sadly, the Mumbai cricketer who played for Kings XI Punjab remained as sensation for just one season and vanished later. But, the actor doesn’t want Priya to fade away like that and suggested to deliver a consistent performance and maintain a delicate balance of stardom.

“Priya Varrier is the viral video equivalent of ipl sensation Paul Valthaty. Whether she goes any further than one season is testament to the delicate balance of stardom and consistent performers. Good luck girl. Wink away. (sic)” – tweeted Siddharth. On other hand, veteran Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor predicted huge stardom for Priya and funnily tweeted – ‘why you weren’t there in our times?’

The latest offering of Rakul Preet Singh, in Bollywood, Aiyaary has opened to highly bad reviews from critics. The crime thriller which is released on February 16 has been written off by almost all the reviewers and that offered a fresh- and second- blow for Rakul Preet in Bollywood – while her first being Yaariyan in 2014.

The film which is based on a major scam involving army officials and bureaucrats was promoted widely by Rakul and lead actor Siddharth Malhotra across all parts of nation. On first day of release, Aiyaary has totally disappointed with very low box office numbers – I.e a measly 3.36 Crores (India). And this is shockingly lower than Siddharth’s previous two films- Ittefaq & A Gentleman.

But, the first day Overseas business is definitely a little surprise for the makers as the film grossed an estimated amount of Rs 2.68 Crore. The result of this film would impact Bollywood career of Rakul Preet who has already signed an untitled film with Ajay Devgn. It will also now be far harder for Rakul to gain new offers in South – after tasting a disaster like Spyder with Mahesh Babu.

When it comes to Telugu, the leggy lass has no offers in her kitty and she has got three films in Kollywood – Suriya36, a film with Karthi under the direction of Rajath & an untitled with Siva Karthikeyan.

Nani’s production venture ‘Awe’, which hit screens on 16th of February, is performing mostly as expected, bringing in an estimated 4 Crores gross on Friday and heading towards a great run over this weekend both in India and overseas.

The film opened to strong hold in overseas and collected over $250K till Friday evening, including premieres, and surpassed the day-1 record of Chalo, Tholiprema and Bhaagamathie. Find below the area-wise break up of first day collections:

With a good jump in revenues from Friday evening shows, Awe is set for decent weekend run. Particularly, the film is having good occupancy rate in multiplexes. Also, this critics’ appreciation for the technicalities of this off-beat effort is working in its favor. The wide star cast of ‘Awe’ include Kajal Agarwal, Nithya Menon, Regina Cassandra, Avasarala Srinivas, Eesha Rebba, Avasarala Srinivas and Priyadarshi.

Raj Tarun’s allegedly shelved film to be helmed by Ravi Babu and produced by Swapna Dutt is back. The latest is that the film has been materialised and going to take off once Ravi Babu wraps up his ongoing film Adhugo that is currently under post-production phase.

Earlier in May 2017, there were reports that the film’s makers have dropped Raj Tarun from their proposed film owing to Raj Tarun’s “high demand” of remuneration.

With Raj Tarun’s dull phase as his recent films Rangula Ratnam, Andhagadu, Kittu Unnadu Jagratta failed to meet expectations, apparently Raj Tarun seems to have cut down his “fee” to team up with the crazy combo of Ravi Babu and the producers of Mahanati, Yevade Subramanyam.

The controversial and sensational filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma attended before CCS (Central Crime Station) officials on Saturday in an obscenity case booked against him for making ‘God, Sex & truth’ short film and his derogatory remarks against a social activist Devi. The Women organizations filed this complaint against RGV by citing that ‘the scenes in film are totally objectionable and it’s projecting woman as a sex object’.

After appearing before Police officials for about 4 hours, Ram Gopal Varma came out of the office and tweeted saying ‘I so loved and was absolutely thrilled with the professionalism of the CCS team.’ Not stopping there, the director in his following tweet expressed his new interest to act in a police officer’s role. Asking the fellow directors to consider it, RGV tweeted – ‘I really feel like acting in a police officers role..My request to all directors is to please consider.’ The tweet quickly attracted the response from his close friend and filmmaker Puri Jagannadh – ‘Sirrr script ready. Waiting for ur dates.’ Further, Ram Gopal Varma thanked Puri for his offer.

Newcomer Punit Malhotra who worked as an assistant director in Karan Johar’s blockbuster Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham is helming this project.
