Anushka, Suriya – Theatres Exchange Program
Anushka’s Bhaagamathie was initially planned for Sankranthi release. Although it was not announced, the makers have blocked theatres for Sankranthi in much advance. With the change of plan (as Bhaagamathie is pushed for Jan 26 release), production house UV Creations has smartly roped in its another production Suriya’s Gang in to the fray.
Suriya’s Gang is a joint venture of UV Creations and Studio Green. It is common knowledge by now that the duo has been working hand-in-hand along with Geetha Arts.
The plan is to release Suriya’s Gang in the theatres in which they have good hold. And after Gang is over, the same theatres would be replaced by Anushka’s Bhaagamathie. This is certainly a smart plan conceived by UV which is slowly increasing its grip on releases. Besides Andhra, UV is also now getting strong in Nizam.
Despite having Pawan Kalyan’s Agnyaathavaasi (released by Dil Raju in Nizam) and Balakrishna’s Jai Simha ( Asian Cinemas Suneel) and Raj Tarun’s Rangula Ratnam ( produced by Annapurna Studios and most likely distributed by Asian Cinemas Suneel), UV’s Gang is hitting the screens comfortably on Jan 12.
Tarun’s Love Story Also in Feb?
Already, February is too loaded with a slew of releases. Especially, there are n number of films in the first and second week of February.
Now, joining the long list could be Tarun’s comeback film Idi Na Love Story. Apparently, producers of Idi Na Love Story are toying with the idea of releasing the film on February 2nd along with Naga Shaurya’s Chalo, Nani’s Awe, Mohan Babu’s Gayatri followed by Sai Dharam Tej’s Intelligent, Varun Tej’s Tholi Prema, Naga Shauyra and Sai Pallavi’s Kanam, Nikhil’s Kirrak Party for Feb 9th.
Earlier, the film’s teaser was unveiled by Nagarjuna and it garnered good response. The film’s trailer too appeared promising with interesting dialogues. Apparently, the film is a remake of super hit Kannada film and this features popular Tamil heroine Oviya (of Bigg Boss fame) opposite Tarun.
While Tarun is pinning high hopes on this film and hoping that it would bring him back to limelight, it needs to be seen what is in store as it is likely to clash with several biggies.
Busy Nani Takes Parallel Route
Natural Star Nani, one of the busiest and the most consistent star of Telugu cinema, is going to shoot for two movies simultaneously from next month.
Buoyed with the stunning success of ‘MCA’, Nani is currently busy wrapping up ‘Krishnarjuna Yuddham’. Directed by Merlapaka Gandhi, the film is slated for April 12 release. The film’s shooting will come to an end by this month end or early February.
Without taking any big gap, Nani will start shooting for director Kishore Tirumala’s film from February. Tentatively titled ‘Chitralahari’, the film will be bankrolled by Mythri movie makers. It is expected to hit screens somewhere around July.
Nani has also given green signal to the highly discussed multistarrer also featuring Nagarjuna Akkineni. The film will go on floors in March. Nani will shoot for this film in parallel with Kishore Tirumala’s film. To be bankrolled by Ashwini Dutt, the multistarrer will be directed by Sriram Aditya.
Nani will have four releases this year – the aforementioned three films and Awe!.
Is Regina Cassandra A Drug Addict??
The teaser of hero Nani’s debut production venture where he partnered with Baahubali costume designer Prashanti Tripirneni, “A!” was released last night. As anticipated, the teaser became a sensation of sorts in film circles with many celebrities appreciating it.
Inside the teaser, no detail about any character is revealed but actually glimpses of what is shown is actually quite intriguing. Especially there is a buzz going on about the character played by Regina Cassandra. Apparently, this dusky siren is looking quite ‘western spoil brat’ kind of and a birdie reveals us that she will be seen as a drug addict in the movie.
While Regina’s look resembles how actress Rooney Mara looked in “The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo”, it looks like the characterisation is also borrowed from that Lisbeth Salander character, for which Rooney got nominated for Best Actress Oscar award too. But a Telugu heroine playing such an aggressive drug addict character on silver screen is a rare and we have to appreciate Regina for that.
meanwhile, A! is said to be having many more surprises in store for the audience. Should we say that Nani has a winner on hand through this newcomer Prashant Varma directorial?

Senior Telugu heroes are always giving some lessons to youngsters these days when it comes to bonding and going happily. This time, none other than Megastar Chiranjeevi, Dialogue King MohanBabu and Angry hero Rajasekhar have given the strong message.
On the 31st night, actually, Megastar Chiranjeevi has attended the New Year bash hosted by politician and philanthropist Subbirami Reddy at his 7-star hotel in Hyderabad. Attending the event is none other than Chiru, Mohan Babu, Rajasekhar and Jeevitha, Aswini Dutt and other old friends. As you could see, Chiru, Mr Reddy, Mohan Babu and Rajasekhar posed this way for photographs.
We hear that the bash was also said to be a party of Rajasekhar on his PSV Garudavega success and thanked Chiru at the party for his helping hand in the promotions. Also, that camaraderie between the biggies could be felt on that New Year eve.
I’ve Made A Mistake, You Don’t Do It Please -Pradeep
Anchor Pradeep became the centre of attention after he was caught in drunk drive incident on December 31st. With his blood alcohol percentage standing at 178mg, even police expressed that the star anchor will be jailed for a couple of days by the magistrate.
However, other day rumours started flowing everywhere that Pradeep has been absconding and not in phone touch with anyone. Clarifying about the same, he has come up with a video message now.
Talking about his absence, Pradeep said, “You all know what happened on Dec 31st night. As per the instructions given to me, I’m going to attend counselling and other things. But as I’m honouring my earlier commitments to shootings, i’m little away from the public light and missed out some phone calls, but nothing else. I’ll abide by the law.”
At the same time he expressed regret for the mistake done. “Last year I’ve released a video I spoke about this (read drunken driving). Unfortunately I’ve crossed the limits and broken the law myself. Please forgive me, and don’t do the mistake I’ve done”, avers Pradeep.

I Don’t Know Pawan Kalyan – Mudragada
Former minister and Kapu crusader Mudragada Padmanabham has made shocking comments on actor and Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan. Speaking to media, Mudragada said that he doesn’t know Pawan Kalyan and has no relation with hm.
He further added that he has never met Pawan Kalyan before and said he doesn’t know who are the Kapu leaders behind Pawan. Mudragada made the above comments when media had questioned him whether he would join forces with him for Kapu reservation.
Mudragada said that they are not forcing anyone to join Kapu agitation and said that they are just continuing the movement with people who are there since inception.
Meanwhile, Mudragada has set a new deadline to CM Chandrababu Naidu on the implementation of Kapu reservations. Mudragada has set March 31st as the fresh deadline and threatened of starting a new agitation if the state government fails to keep its promises by March 31st, 2018.

In a recent interview, Sridhar said that Bunny has evolved as a pan India star with his hard work. ‘He did exemplary home work for Naa Peru Surya. He not just limited himself to acting and personally taken care of several other aspects of our film. Like Aamir, Bunny is one star who has been increasing his market and star power with each film through his hard work,’ Sridhar said about Bunny.
The producer confirmed that they wouldn’t change the release date, and would release Naa Peru Surya worldwide on April 27, 2018.

After experiencing Bunny’s massy action scenes in Sarrainodu, which were cited the primary reason for the film’s success, get ready to watch the Mega hero doing intense fights in his next film, “Naa Peru Surya”.
The ‘First Impact’ of ‘Naa Peru Surya’, unveiled on the eve of New Year, introduced us the character Bunny essays in the film, an Army guy with anger management issues. The promo was explosive and hinted that Bunny will be seen at his intense best during most part of the film. And, we hear that action episodes in the film will be very intense, and that they will be a major highlight of the film.
Three popular stunt directors – Ram Lakshman, Peter Hein and Ravi Varma are working for “Naa Peru Surya”. Going by their reputation in the action department and Bunny’s commitment for perfection, audience can expect intensely stunning fight sequences in the Vakkantham Vamsi directorial.
The film stars Anu Emmanuel as the female lead. Makers have recently stressed that they will stick to the earlier announced release date, April 27.
YSRCP Hijacks Pawan’s Issue!
Whenever Pawan Kalyan raises his voice for an issue, whether it gets the due attention of the government is not sure, but Opposition YSR Congress party leaders don’t give it a miss.
Days after Pawan raised the issue of students of Fathima Institute of Medical Sciences (FIMS) whose admission has been cancelled by the Medical Council of India (MCI) on the grounds that the college made the admissions against the norms, YSRCP has now joined the chorus.
Finally, YSRCP MP YV Subba Reddy has responded and taken up the issue of beleaguered students of Fathima college in Kadapa. Although the problem belongs to the home district (YSR Kadapa) of Jagan Mohan Reddy, so far, YSRCP and Jagan Reddy have maintained a stoic silence.
But all of a sudden, with Pawan relentlessly pursuing the issue, YV Subba Reddy entered the scene. He has met Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda and urged him to pass the special ordinance in favour of the students keeping their academic career and position of their families in mind. JP Nadda has promised to move the Supreme Court once again in the issue.
On the other hand, TDP MPs (acted upon Chandrababu’s order) too informed the Centre to resolve the issue as early as possible. Jagan & YCP seems to be the last entrant to seek solution for a problem belonging to the students of his own district.

We all know that Power star Pawan Kalyan has got huge fan base in Telugu speaking states and his fans are spread across the world. On any given day, several thousands of fans use Twitter to reach Pawan Kalyan, but he never acknowledged a single tweet so far. But, a little boy from Poland has attracted the attention of actor-cum-politician with his video byte.
A Twitter user ‘ZbigsBujji’ posted a video to Kalyan wherein he crooned a bit of ‘Kodaka Koteshwara Rao’ song with a view to know his favorite star’s ‘impressions’. The tweet, which has been widely under circulation in the recent past, has finally reached the man himself. So, in a response to the little fan’s tweet, Kalyan post – ‘My dear little friend, Thank you for your new gift. Your message has reached me. May God bless you!’

3 Massive BO Shockers at Year End!
Most of the Telugu film industry believes that Content is the King and Talk is the Prime Factor that decides a film’s fate at box office. This reliable theory has shockingly proved wrong thrice in the last ten days of 2017.
Nani’s MCA is the first film to prove the theory wrong. The film turned out to be a runaway hit at box office despite receiving poor reviews and below par talk for the mediocre content.
Akkineni Akhil’s “Hello” wasn’t comparable to the earlier brilliant works of director Vikram Kumar but the film nonetheless met with positive talk. Surprisingly, the promisingly looked film could never leverage the talk and has reportedly incurred huge losses to buyers.
Allu Sirish’s “Okka Kshanam” gave the ultimate shocker of 2017. Talented director Vi Anand’s directorial received decent to positive talk but the box office performance was shockingly poor. The film could barely recover 30 percent investment of buyers in its first week and is reportedly heading towards a massive debacle. Sirish’s earlier films have performed much better at box office in comparison.
All eyes are now on the Sankranthi films so business of the aforementioned films has almost closed.
