Telugu film industry has recently picked up the trend of Biopics as the makers can have the advantage of curiosity factor, hype, controversies (could be intentional or unavoidable) and some other factors. Following the biopics on Sr NTR, Savithri, Pullela Gopichand, Telugu audience might soon see the biopic on YSR, late CM of united UP.

Actually, the idea of a biopic on YSR originated a few years ago itself, but the project couldn’t shape up due to the political turmoil in the state, and also because of the potential controversies it can engulf in. The current buzz is that the YSR biopic is being revived.

Young director Mahi Raghav, who scored a decent success with the horror comedy, “Anando Brahma”, has reportedly completed the script work for YSR biopic, and that he awaits the permission from Jagan and other concerned people. The makers plan to make an official announcement after procuring permission from Jagan, who is currently busy with Padayathra.

It is heard that Malayalam Superstar Mammootty is in talks to reprise YSR in his biopic. He is being offered a huge sum to make him step into the shoes of the late CM. It wouldn’t be a surprise if the biopic, which will reportedly glorify YSR, releases before the 2019 AP Assembly elections.

Prabhas, who has become a powerful pan India brand post the success of “Baahubali” has graced the first issue of GQ India magazine in 2018, and he looks suave. The shy actor, who rarely does photo shoots for magazines, looks dapper in a royal blue suit.

After terrifying us with his snarly performance as Bhalladheva in Baahubali 2, Rana Daggubati is out to make friends with Earth’s largest land-dwelling animal in his next movie.

Haathi Mere Saathi, helmed by Tamil director Prabhu Solomon, has him be pally with an elephant in the movie.Though the title will remind you the yesteryear classic starring Rajesh Khanna, reports say that it won’t be a remake of this film but will pay a tribute to the same.

The makers have released the first look of the movie and it has Rana pose with his elephant pal, with the latter’s trunk on his shoulder.

Rana is looking quite different here with his new haircut and beard style, while also looking slimmer (compared to his bulky countenance in Baahubali 2).

His long-sleeved coarse black shirt gels well with the overall ambiance and gives him that rugged mahout look.His character is called Bandev in the movie.

The surprise is here. The look of Shriya Saran and Vishnu Manchu, who play adorable couple in forthcoming film Gayatri, has been divulged. Shriya is looking gorgeous, whereas Vishnu essays the role of a doting husband who helps his better-half in daily chores and combing her hair.

After an intense look of Mohan Babu in the first look of Gayatri, this family look of Vishnu, Shriya indicate that there is a lot more in the film besides action – i.e drama, family elements, humour.

Apparently, Mohan Babu will be seen in titular role as he will play both the hero and baddie in the film. Madan, of Pellaina Kothalo, is wielding the megaphone. Produced by Mohan Babu himself, the film is all set to hit the marquee on Feb 9.

Boyapati Srinu will direct Ram Charan for an upcoming film is a news of past and the latest we hear from tinsel town is that it is going to be the Telugu remake of 2015 Bollywood film – Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. The Hindi romantic drama, directed by Suraj Barjatya, featured Salman Khan and Sonam Kapoor in the lead and minted 200 Crore in first three days of release.

A speculation that is widespread in Film Nagar is that Boyapati is developing the script to suit Telugu backdrop. Charan is likely to reprise the role of Salman Khan. Currently, the Mega actor is filming for Sukumar’s Rangasthalam which has Samantha as female lead. To coincide with Charan’s birthday, the makers are readying it for March release in 2018.

Quickly after wrapping Sukumar’s film, Mega Powerstar will move over to Boyapati’s film. However, there is no official announcement made on whether it is going to be a remake film or an original one.

If we have to talk about Samantha, we can’t stop appreciating her for introducing that ‘fashion’ touch to Telugu industry. She’s the one who started glamorising appearances at film events after she walked down to Attarintiki Daredi audio launch with an open waist, and a diamond adoring her navel. Later she became a brand ambassador for glamorous fashion at filmy events.

Quite surprisingly, ever since getting married to hero Naga Chaitanya, this top heroine is seen in ethnic wear and non-glamorous outfits at many events that happenings. Including Raju Gari Gadhi 2 press meets, Balakrishnudu audio launch and Hello pre-release event, she appeared rather conservative. Many thought that marriage bought this sudden change to Samantha. But on New Year, she broke the shackles yet again.

As she posed with Naga Chaitanya for a pic, which she shared on social media to wish her fans a ‘happy new year’, Samantha poured more glamour than expected. Flaunting her cleavage in a low-cut white top, she looked damn ravishing while Chaitanya is also quite dapper.

Venu Sreeram was so lucky. For his directorial debut Oh My Friend, Dil Raju has provided him the best cast – Siddharth, Shruti Haasan, Hansika – way back in 2011. The film was a colossal failure pouring cold water on all the hopes of Dil Raju who thought youth would embrace the film.

Venu was jobless for six long years for various reasons. He was supposed to direct Ravi Teja under Dil Raju’s production. But even Ravi Teja had walked out of the film courting a controversy.

Finally, after twists and turns, Venu Sreeram has got best talent once again after six years. Dil Raju has provided Venu with Nani, Sai Pallavi who are riding high in their careers. And joining them is yet another talented actress Bhumika (of Okkadu, Kushi fame).

Despite all this bundle of talent, Venu couldn’t make a promising comeback. Instead, he delivered a mediocre film with MCA. In fact, MCA was a golden opportunity for Venu Sreeram. Had he made a decent film ( even if not a commercial success), Venu would have got a raining offers. But this is not the case.

MCA has got thumbs down from all critics unanimously. Even though if Dil Raju and Nani claim the film as a commercial success, the credit will only go to them, but not to Venu Sreeram. Venu will only end up receiving all the brick bats.

The moot question is who will dare to give one more chance to Venu other than Dil Raju.

Expectations on Pawan Kalyan’s Agnyaathavasi are already sky-rocketed, even before the theatrical trailer of the film is out. The makers are planning an official screening of the family entertainer to Megastar Chiranjeevi, two days prior to worldwide release – 10th January.

Besides Chiranjeevi, other members of Mega family will also attend this screening and what would take the expectations on the film to another level? – Off course, it is Chiru’s appraisal speech after watch the special screening.

Fans, on other hand, are enjoying the song (Kodaka Koteshwar Rao) crooned by Pawan Kalyan and waiting for trailer to release. 10th January is the big day everyone is waiting for. The Trivikram-directorial has Anu Emmanuel and Keerthy Suresh as leading ladies, who are romancing Pawan for the first time.

Pawan Kalyan’s most awaited 25th film “Agnyaathavaasi” is currently talk of the town with its Kodaka Koteswara Rao song taking the tinsel town by a storm other day. And then, the film’s foot tapping melodious music made most of its hype. But here comes a bad news.

Apparently, some rumours are doing rounds that Bollywood’s popular music company and also a film producer, T-Series is likely to send a legal notice to Angyaathavaasi makers. This is in connection with the film’s content, as rumours have mushroomed that the Trivikram directorial is a free-make of the French film “Largo Winch” which also got released in Hollywood as ‘The Heir Apparent’.

While this French film isn’t a super successful movie at the box office, we hear that T-Series actually owns the remake rights of this film in all Indian languages. For that reason, they are now contemplating to send a copyright infringement notice, says a source.

On that note, we have to say Trivikram’s previous movie “A..Aa” also faced similar criticism for being a copy of the novel ‘Meena’ written by Yaddanapudi Sulochana Rani. Later it was revealed that the director actually purchased the rights to the novel much in advance, but has forgotten to credit the writer in film’s initial title sequence. The issue was later resolved amicably.
