Fatima’s new selfie has left the internet worrying
Netizens have their eye on each and every celebrity, but while they are always on their toes to scan the Bollywood bigwigs for loopholes, they have some favourites and Fatima Sana Shaikh is one of them.Often being trolled for her selfies, the Dangal star’s Instagram is one of the most controversial ones in tinsel town.The 25-year-old actress recently posted a picture on social media and has the internet buzzing. But this time, more than outraged (which is the usual scene), the internet was confused, rather concerned.
While the actress looked beautiful in the morning selfie, Instagram was left in a fix when they noticed her ‘eyebrow’, which didn’t seem quite normal to everyone.Fatima’s right eyebrow looked shaved from the middle and the internet really wanted to know what happened.The actress who started out as a child artist in Kamal Haasan’s Chachi 420, got her big break with Salman Khan’s Dangal, an account of Haryanvi wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat who trained his daughters Geeta and Babita in his sport.
Fatima played Geeta, actress Sanya Malhotra was cast as Babita.Fatima Sana Shaikh is now busy filming for her second project alongside her mentor Aamir titled Thugs of Hindostan which also features Amitabh Bachchan and Katrina Kaif.
Fodder Scam Verdict: Lalu Convicted
Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Chief and former Bihar CM Lalu Prasad Yadav was on Saturday pronounced guilty in the long-pending fodder scam case. The quantum of punishment will be pronounced on 3rd January, 2018.
Of the 22 accused, the Special CBI Court in Ranchi found 15 guilty, Lalu was one among them, and acquitted the remaining seven. Former Bihar CM Jagannath Mishra was one among the acquitted seven. All the fifteen convicts, including Lalu, were taken into custody immediately after the pronouncement of the verdict. They were all found guilty for the fraudulent withdrawal of Rs 84.5 lakh from the treasury between 1994 and 1996.
Lalu faced five cases in the fodder scam, of which now three are pending. In October 2013, he had been sentenced to five years in jail for the fraudulent withdrawal of Rs 37.5 Cr from the treasury, but he was granted bail by the Supreme Court in December 2013.
Chaitu’s ‘Ego’ with Maruthi
Director Maruthi’s rise from a successful director who allegedly introduced the trend of low-budget adult-content movies to a filmmaker who delivers clean entertainers is very inspiring. The main ingredient of his stories has been ‘heroes’ novel characterization’.
In ‘Kotha Janta’, the first clean film from Maruthi, he showed Sirish as a selfish guy. In Bhale Bhale Magadivoy, Maruthi showed Nani as a youth with memory loss problem. He then explored the OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) point in Sharwa’s “Mahanubhavudu”. He is dealing with a new point in each film, and scoring hits.
And, the successful director is exploring the lesser-explored subject of ‘Ego’ in his next film. We have learnt that Maruthi’s new film, to star Naga Chaitanya, will show the hero character having excessive ego. Maruthi is adept in generating fun through such novel points and ending the films on an emotional note, and the same can be expected from the film starring Chaitu.
Tentatively titled ‘Sailaja Reddy Alludu’, the film has reigning starlet Anu Emmanuel playing the female lead. Based on the title, it can be inferred that Chaitu’s ego will be pitted against not the heroine but her mother character, something on the lines of Atha vs Alludu point.
Tiger Made A History For Baahubali 2
From last decade or so, Bollywood biggies like Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan are dominating the Hindi box office big time. And that led to a belief that Hindi films are National movies while Telugu and Tamil films are just regional movies. But in 2017, a history is written and Bollywood never forgets this.
Pride of Telugu people, SS Rajamouli’s final stroke with “Baahubali 2” has simply stunned the whole of India. Due to the hype surrounding the film, it registered nearly 41 crores ‘nett’ collection on the first day with its Hindi dubbed version. Guess what, this is the highest ever, higher than any other Bollywood film for a first day.
Expecting to conquer this record, there are films like Shahrukh Khan’s Raees and Salman Khan’s Tubelight have released big time, but they made only 20+ crores and 21+ crores respectively on Opening Day. As the franchisee of Golmaal is bigger and popular, that film also tried to replace Baahubali 2 record but ended up with 30+ crores nett on the first day.
There came Tiger Zinda Hai, which expected to be Salman Khan’s powerful punch at the box office. The success of previous Tiger movie, hotness of Katrina Kaif, superhit songs and presence of YRF made this film to collect only 33+ crores nett, thereby not even getting close to what Baahubali 2 made.
That way, Tiger finally helped Baahubali 2 making history at Bollywood box office.
Jayalalithaa Death Probe: Sasikala, Apollo Reddy Receive Summons
The death mystery of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa is getting deeper as the commission investigating the incident has now summoned her close aide VK Sasikala as well as Apollo Hospital Chairman Pratap Reddy on Friday. They were asked to file documents related to the death of Jayalalithaa within 15 days.
Tamil Nadu government has constituted a Commission of Inquiry, headed by former Madras High Court judge A Arumughaswamy, to probe the circumstances that led to the death of Jayalalithaa. The summoning of Sasikala and Apollo Chairman by the commission comes in the wake of a video purportedly showing Jayalalithaa in a hospital surfaced on internet recently. The video was released a day ahead of the RK Nagar (constituency previously represented by Jayalalithaa) by-poll on December 21.
The former AIADMK supremo spent 75 days in the Apollo hospital before breathing her last on December 5 last year. Suspicions have been raised by several persons, including now deputy chief minister Panneerselvam over circumstances leading to her death.
Naa Peru Surya: Allu Arjun Star Power At Display
Allu Arjun is once again showing his star power with Naa Peru Surya. Although the film is directed by debutant director Vakkantam Vamsi, buyers are betting big just because of Allu Arjun’s stardom.
Satellite rights and digital rights of the film were bagged for a whopping Rs. 25 crore. Vizag distribution rights were sold for Rs. 8.5 crore and Karnataka rights fetched Rs. 9 crore for its makers.
Ceded distributor is reportedly offering Rs. 14 crore. The offers are on par with any superstar’s film. Naa Peru Surya production cost is around Rs. 75 to 80 crore.Producer is likely to make a solid Rs. 20 crore profit prior to the release.
Pendurthi Episode: Naidu On Defensive!
The inhuman incident of a Dalit woman being assaulted and stripped by Telugu Desam Party leaders backed by Pendurthi MLA Bandaru Satyanarayana Murthy, at Jerripothulapalem village on Visakhapatnam suburbs, pushed chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on the defensive.
The chief minister, who has already been facing a lot of criticism over the alleged multi-crore land scam involving senior politicians of the TDP in Visakhapatnam, is all the more embarrassed with the Pendurthi incident, which brought to light how the ruling party leaders were openly indulging in land grabbing.
With the issue taking caste colour as it involved a Dalit woman, Naidu had no option but to order a comprehensive inquiry by Visakhapatnam district collector into the incident.He also asked the police not to succumb to any political pressures and take stern action against the accused, who were arrested in the case.
The TDP leaders tried to silence the issue by offering Rs 1 lakh to the Dalit woman, but she refused to accept it, saying that it would not bring back her lost honour. She demanded that the accused be punished strongly.The TDP president, who returned from his Maldives trip on Friday, reportedly called up Satyanarayana Murthy and pulled him up for causing huge damage to the party in Visakhapatnam.
“Such incidents will not only damage my image but also the party’s prospects in the elections,” he reportedly told the MLA.
Hello Day 1 Box Office is Below Par
Akkineni Akhil’s debut film Akhil opened on a thunderous note but later tanked because of disastrous talk. It was one of the biggest flops of that year.
His second film Hello opened to decent word of mouth and reviews, but its first day box office is below par considering the costs involved.
Comparatively MCA first day shares in Telugu states is over Rs. 7 Crore. Both the films need to recover similar amounts from the theatricals.
Hello makers will be hoping that the film will pick up in coming days as the word of mouth is positive. Also
Middle Class Abbayi talk is not up to the mark which may help Hello’s collections in the coming days.
