How Sunil Got Pawan?
As soon as the word is out that Pawan Kalyan would unveil the teaser of Sunil’s 2 Countries, many in film industry and media thought that Trivikram Srinivas was behind it. It was speculated that Trivikram might have helped Sunil in getting in touch with Pawan and convince him to unveil the teaser.
However, in contrary, it is learnt that it is director Shankar who has straight away approached Pawan Kalyan. As soon as Shankar approached him, he said to have readily agreed to launch the teaser. Pawan said to have asked Shankar about the film’s details and was said to have impressed.
Shankar, accompanied by Sunil, have met Pawan personally ahead of the teaser launch. Sunil also share good rapport with Pawan. Both Sunil and Pawan have worked together for several films. Pawan apparently likes Sunil very well for his hard working nature. Since Sunil being Chiru’s hard core fan, Pawan said to have a special affection on Sunil. So, for both Shankar and Sunil, Pawan has come forward to launch the teaser.
While Sunil’s previous films have failed to meet the expectations, he is now said to be super confident on 2 Countries, which is the remake of super hit Malayalam film of the same name. The film is being directed by Shankar of Jayam Manade Ra and Jai Bola Telangana fame. Produced by Shankar himself, the film is expected for December release.
Padmavati Insured for 140 Cr
Ace director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s historical film ‘Padmavati’ has been made with a whopping Rs 170 Cr budget. Since the high-budget film is facing protests and threats, its release has been postponed indefinitely. This delay will naturally cause losses to producers as well distributors. Now, here are the details of the whopping yet intricate insurance policy of Padmavati.
The Chairman of New India Assurance company has confirmed that his firm has insured Padmavati for a whopping Rs 140 Cr. The producers/distributors can claim a compensation of up to Rs 80 crores in box office collections in case the film’s screening is affected or if the audiences are unable to access theatres due to factors such as strikes, riots, and even weather-related events.
However, the one clause that worries Padmavati makers is that the policy does not cover any loss if the film is banned by government. Moreover, the insurance cover comes into effect only after the film’s theatrical release. Considering that ‘Padmavati’ has been banned in five states – Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Punjab, and taking into account that it’s release has been postponed indefinitely, the makers can’t claim any compensation as of yet.
The insurance cover will come into effect only if protests affect the screening of Padmavati after its theatrical release, that too, only in the regions where it was not banned by the government. Discussions are reportedly going on between the makers and the insurance company over who should bear the losses. It will be interesting to see how they resolve this situation.
‘Charan Should Do Gang Leader Remake’
For long time, Mega fans are waiting for the remake of some of Megastar Chiranjeevi’s iconic movies such as Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari, Gang Leader and a few others. But the question is, who is the most suitable among the young heroes of Mega family to step into the shoes of Megastar.
Megastar’s nephew Sai Dharam Tej, who has already remixed a few chartbuster songs of Chiru, was recently asked about the ‘Gang Leader’ remake. In reply, Tej said that no one but Ram Charan should act in ‘Gang Leader’ remake if at all the iconic movie was to be remade.
Mega fans also feel Charan is the best replacement for Chiru to recreate the Gang Leader euphoria. Moreover, during the promotions of ‘Khaidi No.150’, Charan also revealed his wish of doing the remake of that 1991 industry hit film.
For now, Charan has films lined up with Boyapati Seenu and Rajamouli.
Hero Upendra Thinks That Fake Question Is Real?
Finally deciding to enter politics, hero Upendra recently announced the incarnation of his political party Karnataka Pragnyavanta Janata Paksha. Since then, he’s getting many calls from people, twitterati and others to take action on some subjects.
Amongst all the questions, plea and requests bounced to him, one particular WhatsApp share has fascinated Upendra, says his associates. That post actually asks why our Hon’ble Members of Parliament are given 15000 rupees as telephone allowance.
The post asks: At a time when people are getting unlimited data and phone calls for 3 months at a rate of around 300 to 400 rupees, isn’t this amount big? It is damn big when we realize that there are 245 Rajyasabha MPs and 545 Loksabha MPs, the cost is coming to 1.18 crore/month.
Actually, these figures and estimates are sounding fake, because no MP is given money directly for telephone usage. They are 50,000 free local calls for each MP on each SIM and they can use three numbers, which comes to 1,50,000 local calls in a year for them. Now that BSNL is also offering 400 rupees for 3 months unlimited package, the whole of ‘telephone allowance’ might sound fake.
While Upendra is feeling happy for his fans asking such a question, it is to be seen if he realized it is a fake question.

Mental Madhilo Movie Review
Mental Madhilo has been making buzz across the industry circles for its aggressive promotions. Raj Kandukuri and Suresh Productions previous collaboration was a surprise blockbuster Pelli Choopulu. With the same makers entrusting this script has caught the attention of film lovers. Is Mental Madhilo good enough to be another Pelli Choopulu?
Story :
Aravind Krishna (Sree Vishnu) has an issue with options. He cannot make a right choice and gets confused when he has two or more options to choose from. He is also an introvert who is afraid to talk with females. His parents almost gives up on him before he finds the right girl Swetcha (Nivetha). Aravind has an instant connection with her and both decide to get married. But Swetcha’s grandmother dies on the engagement day and the engagement is postponed. Meanwhile, Aravind has to leave to Mumbai on job purpose. There he comes across Renu (Amrutha) a free spirited girl. Now he is confused to choose between Swetcha and Renu.
Performances:
Sri Vishnu is very good at expressions and he did well to pull off this complex lead character. He finally gets a role that does justice to his acting skills and he made the most of it with an impressive performance. Nivetha Pethuraj is a nice find. She is a very good actress and makes an impression with the first film itself. Amrutha is okay as the second female lead. Sivajiraja steals the show as hero’s father. Anita did a commendable job as heroine’s mother.
Technicalities:
Debutant director Vivek Atreya chose an interesting theme to deal with. He invested more time in etching his characters that elevates the theme of the story. Introducing hero’s character as a confusion master is a brilliant idea, which helps for a free flow of events. Director used hero’s characterization as the main tool to script his screenplay. Vivek Atreya shines in getting the emotions right. He is particularly impressive in handling the climax scenes.
Musical score never interrupts the flow of the story and is gelled well within it. Every song comes as a part of the screenplay. Background score also is impressive. Cinematography is superb. The film is visually appealing in spite of the budget limitations. Dialogues are very natural and effective in key scenes. Producer Raj Kandukuri once again proves his taste as a producer by supporting this idea.
Thumbs Up:
- Hero characterization
- Sri Vishnu and Nivetha Performances
- Climax
Thumbs Down:
- Mumbai episode
- Confusing second female lead
Analysis:
Mental Madhilo starts off as a breezy romantic comedy with an interesting lead character. Director focused on establishing the confusion of the protagonist with elaborate scenes. The confusion of the lead character works as driving force for the screenplay after a point. So these scenes are given enough time before it shifts focus onto the plot. Initial scenes are very funny with Sivaji Raja in top form with his comic timing.
Introduction scene of heroine and the interactions between her and the hero that follow are well written and executed. The film smoothly moves towards the intermission point with lots of fun moments and endearing romantic scenes. There comes an unexpected twist at the interval point to take a break to make things interesting. However, second half of the film opens on a confusing note and moves at a snail pace as the director focuses much on the protagonist’s confusion angle.
Characterization of the second female lead is not up to the mark and on the borderline confusing that we cannot understand why the protagonist is getting close to her. The episode in Mumbai is stretched over an hour which is the biggest weak link of the film. The film suddenly turns serious and preachy and is in stark contrast to its entertaining first half. Thankfully things get back on track towards the climax as director did well in handling the emotions.
Barring a boring Mumbai episode that almost stretches for an hour, Mental Madhilo has enough to make it worth watching. Well written lead characters, entertaining first half and an emotional climax make it blur the minuses and weak points. Mental Madhilo isn’t as fun and as refreshing as Pelli Choopulu, but will definitely impress the youth and urban audience.
Verdict: Classy Take on Confused Romance.
YS Jagan In Top 10 Money Launderers!
After featuring in the recently leaked Paradise Papers, YSRCP President YS Jaganmohan Reddy has found his name in yet another dubious list. This time, Jagan featured in the list of Top money launderers in India.
The Enforcement Directorate has announced the list of Top money launderers in the country, and Jagan has achieved All India 10th rank. He is accused of laundering at least Rs 368 crore through 31 shell companies (firms that exist only on paper, and used to hoard unaccounted money) linked to him and his associates. Jagan is the only South Indian to feature in this list of top money launderers, one heck of a record, isn’t it?
Will these accusations by the Top Indian sleuths make an impact on Jagan’s political ambitions?
The only other politician to feature in the list is Chhagan Bhujbal, the NCP leader and former deputy CM of Maharashtra has allegedly laundered Rs 200 crore using 81 shell companies.
Afroz Mohammed Hasanfatta and Madanlal Jain of Surat have topped the list, They remitted money to Dubai and Hong Kong through forged bills of entry. Together, the duo have allegedly laundered Rs 5,400 crore through 30 shell companies.
Delhi based NKS Holdings Pvt Ltd is second on the list. It allegedly laundered Rs 3,790 crore using 95 shell companies. The NKS Holdings accepted black money of “clients” and converted it into share premium through shell companies to make them look like legitimate business transactions.

Baahubali Writer’s Wife & Prostitute Logic
Top director Rajamouli’s father and senior writer Vijayendra Prasad has been in industry for three decades, and has penned several blockbusters. He however came into prominence only in the recent years with Baahubali, Bajarangi Bhaijaan, Mersal, Magadheera, Eega etc. For having written so many blockbusters, he is expected to be knowing the formula of a crowd-pleasing script. When the same was asked, the senior writer has replied with an interesting anecdote.
Prasad said that there was nothing like a hit formula, and the only golden rule is – people should be offered wholesome entertainment when they come to theatres to watch a movie, all age groups must get their dose of entertainment. Now, one may question what is ‘wholesome entertainment’? The Baahubali writer has an answer ready for this query.
“Let me explain this by telling the difference between a wife and a prostitute. A wife is someone who worries about a husband’s well-being. For ex: she stops her husband form eating excessive sweets with the fear of diabetes or other ailments. However, if a man goes to a prostitute, she wouldn’t care whether he drinks or smokes, all she wants from him is his money, for that she would offer him everything that she has, in the manner he likes.
While penning a story, one should keep two things in mind. The base of the story should be as honest as a wife, and all the embellishments (commercial ingredients) you wrap around the story should act like a prostitute, focusing on entertainment and ensuring money from audience,” Vijayendra Prasad reportedly told.
In simple words, he sort of conveyed that a story must have the qualities of both the wife and the prostitute to ensure success.
Singer Sunitha’s Shocking Comments on TS Govt.
Being the highly vulnerable celebrity she is, Telugu singer Sunitha always watches her guard and tries her best to stay away from controversies. A person of that composed nature, hence making a comment against TS govt. has become a sensational topic on social media now.
It is known that TS govt., for past one month or so, has been beautifying the city, especially repairing the roads which had been neglected for years, even after the recent floods badly affected the city roads. This work, with an expense of about Rs 50 Cr, is reportedly being taken place only in the areas where US President Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka will travel during her visit to the city this month end.
Indirectly mocking the govt’s desperateness to please Ivanka, Sunitha has recently made a FB post saying it it would have been good for the people residing in Rayadurgam-Khajaguda area if Ivanka was to travel by that route.
Her post was very economical in words but powerfully satiric. Many were surprised as the very cautious Sunitha herself made this comment when hardly any celebrity is showing courage to speak against the KCR govt.
