Fresh from the success of her husband Rajasekhar’s latest film Garuda Vega, actress-turned-producer Jeevitha is said to be trying to make a fresh innings in politics.

Of late, Jeevitha, who is presently a member of the Censor Board of Film Certification, has been inclining towards the ruling Telugu Desam Party in Andhra Pradesh.

She was also made the jury chairman of Nandi awards for 2015. Following that, she has been showering praises on TDP president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

She recently met Naidu along with several film industry representatives and sought his cooperation in expansion of Telugu film industry to Andhra Pradesh – whether it is to Visakhapatnam or Amaravati.

Subsequently, she reportedly sent feelers to Naidu that she is willing to join the TDP, if given a chance. She even told the media the same at an interaction a couple of days ago.However, the question is whether Jeevitha would be lucky in politics at least in TDP.

She and her husband tried their luck in the Congress party in the past and later joined the YSR Congress party. But they did not continue in YSRC for a long time because of ego problems. After that, they kept away from politics for the last few years.

Now, Jeevitha, if not Rajasekhar, wants to get back into active politics by joining the TDP. But party sources say she might not get any good post or position in the TDP, as there are too many contenders.

Everybody knows how Naidu is expert in use-and-throw politics and he feels there is no use of the leaders, he would not entertain them.And there is no guarantee that the TDP will come to power again in the next elections. So, will Jeevitha end up in a losing party?

Owing to the pressure from various corners, finally, the makers of forthcoming epic period-drama Padmavati has announced that the movie will not hit the screens on December 1st as per the original plan. Viacom18 Motion Pictures, the studio behind Padmavati, has stated that it has voluntarily deferred the film’s release from 1 December 2017. In an official statement it said that the new release date would be announced soon.

Set in medieval Rajasthan, Rajput Queen Padmavati is married to a noble king and they live in a prosperous fortress with their subjects until an ambitious Sultan(Alauddin Khilji) hears of Padmavati’s beauty and forms an obsessive love for the Queen of Mewar. This is one popular version of the historical story besides several other contrary stories.

The historic period drama is being directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali with a massive budget in a lavish scale. Already the film’s trailer became a big hit. Ranveer Singh is seen as menacing Sultan, while Shahid essays the role of a noble king, Padmavati’s husband. Naturally, the story has not gone down well with religious groups, fringe who have been objecting the film since its inception.

The film has been mired in controversies with a section of people from Rajasthan (Rajputs) have threatened the makers with dire consequences if the film is released. Threats were made to the film’s lead actress Deepika Padukone that her nose would be cut off. Even during the film’s shoot, director Sanjay Leela Bhansali was beaten up and later the film’s set was set on fire incurring a great financial loss.

The Rajput community has claimed that the makers have distorted history and has been demanding to stall the film’s release. With various threats and controversies, Viacom18 has come forward to postpone the film’s release.

Doing 25 films is undoubtedly one of the biggest achievements for this generation heroes, and so is macho hero Gopichand excited at the launch of his landmark 25th film.

To be bankrolled by KK Radhamohan on Sri Satya Sai Arts banner, this yet-to-be-titled film was launched today at Ramanaidu Studios, Hyderabad. K. Chakravarthy, who has provided screenplay for films such as Balupu, Power and Jai Lava Kusa, is making his directorial debut with this film. Interestingly, director Bobby has helped Chakravathy in penning the screenplay.

Gopichand said that he was bowled by the racy screenplay narrated by Chakri (Chakravarthy), and hence decided to do the film as his 25th one. He exuded confidence in entertaining all sections of audience with his landmark film, which will have all the commercial elements along with a good message.

Both the director and producer have said that they have taken the film very prestigious since it is Gopichand’s landmark 25th project. The film’s regular shooting will commence from December 16.
