Well, sometimes good looking posters also confuse audiences to the core and that is what happened with “Mahanati” poster today. A biopic that revolves around life and times of great Telugu actress Savitri, this film features Keerthi Suresh in the shoes of the legend.

Meanwhile, today (October 17th) it happens to be Keerthi’s birthday and the film production house came up with a poster wishing her. Needless to say, the poster is terrific, but what is actually confusing everyone is the line “Happy Birthday To our one and only #Mahanati”. Because, Keerthi is not Mahanati, though she’s featuring in the role of real Mahanati of Telugu cinema.

Real Savitri was born on December 26th and poster release would have been more authentic if the team targeted that day. Anyway, as the team released only a teaser-like-poster now featuring Keerthi’s eyes, they may release the full version of the picture on real Savitri’s birthday.

Directed by Nag Ashwin of Yevade Subrahmanyam fame, this project is being bankrolled by Ashwini Dutt and his daughter Swapna. The film also features Samantha, Vijay Deverakonda, Prakash Raj and Dulquer Salman in other roles.

Samantha and Kajal Agarwal are sure the leading actresses down South. The duo worked together for NTR’s Brundavanam which ended up as arn decent entertainer. The duo teamed up again for Brahmotsavam which ended up as Tollywood’s one of the biggest debacles.

For the third time, Samantha and Kajal worked for the movie Mersal which has been slated for Diwali release. Vijay is the lead actor and Atlee directed the movie.

Now Samantha and Kajal have been haunted by the memories of Brahmotsavam. Vijay will be seen in a triple role in Mersal and Nithya Menen has a short role in which she will be seen as a village girl.

Speculations have been rife for the past couple of days that slender beauty Regina Cassandra, has been roped in for Balakrishna Nandamuri’s 102nd film. Since the film already has Nayanthara and Natashi Doshi in key roles, movie lovers wondered whether there is any significance for Regina’s character.
