Share

Weeks after launching its Zenfone 4 series in Taiwan, Asus is now reportedly ready to bring the new camera-centric handsets to the Indian market on September 14. The Asus Zenfone 4 series, which is an upgrade over the Zenfone 3 series, includes six smartphone variants like Zenfone 4 Pro, Zenfone 4, Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro, Zenfone 4 Selfie, Zenfone 4 Max and Zenfone 4 Max Pro.

However, it’s still unclear whether the company will release all the six variants in India, like it did in Taiwan and Philippines, IANS reported, citing industry sources. Asus was earlier expected to launch the new ZenFone 4 series at Computex in May, but the company later delayed it to incorporate a design overhaul and more efficient specification upgrades.

The Zenfone 4 Pro, which features a 16MP dual rear camera, is equipped with 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage space and a 3600mAh battery. The Zenfone 4, on the other hand, comes with a 12MP dual rear camera and packs 6GB of RAM, 64GB of storage space and a 3300mAh battery.

The Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro, meanwhile, sports a 24MP dual front-facing selfie camera and also features 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage space and a 3000mAh battery. The Zenfone 4 Selfie, on the other hand, features a 20MP camera while also sporting 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage space and a 3000mAh battery.

When it comes to Zenfone 4 Max, the handset comes with a 13MP dual rear camera and an 8MP front camera. The device is also equipped with 3GB RAM, 32GB of storage space and a massive 5000mAh battery, which is claimed to offer standby time of as many as 46 days.

Amid international uproar over North Korea’s latest and biggest nuclear weapons test, one of its top diplomats said on Tuesday it was ready to send “more gift packages” to the United States.

Han Tae Song, Ambassador of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) to the UN in Geneva, was addressing the UN-sponsored Conference on Disarmament two days after his country detonated its sixth nuclear test explosion.

“The recent self-defence measures by my country, DPRK, are a ‘gift package’ addressed to none other than the U.S.,” Mr. Han told the Geneva forum.

“The U.S. will receive more ‘gift packages’ from my country as long as its relies on reckless provocations and futile attempts to put pressure on the DPRK,” he added without elaborating.

“Pressure or sanctions will never work on my country,” Mr. Han declared, adding: “The DPRK will never under any circumstances put its nuclear deterrence on the negotiating table.”

Modi Meets Suu Kyi, Discusses India-Myanmar Relations

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday met Myanmar’s State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi and the two leaders discussed ways to further cement the bilateral relations.

“Prime Minister Modi and Councillor Aung San Suu Kyi meet in Myanmar, discuss further cementing of India-Myanmar relations,” PMO said in a tweet.

“Meeting a valued friend. Prime Minister Modi with the State Councillor Aung San Suu Kyi,” External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Raveesh Kumar tweeted.

The Prime Minister’s visit to Myanmar comes amid a spike in ethnic violence with Rohingya Muslims in the Rakhine state. He is expected to raise the issue of the exodus of the ethnic Rohingyas into neighbouring countries.

The Indian government is also concerned about Rohingya immigrants in the country, and has been considering to deport them. Around 40,000 Rohingyas are said to be staying illegally in India.

India and Myanmar were also looking at strengthening existing cooperation in areas of security and counter-terrorism, trade and investment, infrastructure and energy, and culture, Mr. Modi had said ahead of his visit.

Mr. Modi arrived here on the second leg of his two-nation trip during which he travelled to southeastern Chinese city Xiamen where he attended the annual BRICS summit and held talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin and other world leaders.

This is Mr. Modi’s first bilateral visit to Myanmar. He had visited the country in 2014 to attend the ASEAN-India Summit. The Myanmarese President and Ms. Suu Kyi had visited India last year.

Myanmar is one of India’s strategic neighbours and shares a 1,640-km-long border with a number of northeastern states including militancy-hit Nagaland and Manipur.

TRS MLA Is Not Indian!

Share

In a rude shock to ruling TRS, its party leader and Vemulawada MLA Chennamaneni Ramesh Babu has been declared as a German citizen, not an Indian citizen. Hence, his MLA position is likely to be terminated. Union Home Ministry has confirmed that Ramesh is no longer an Indian citizen after verifying the documents provided by Ramesh during the filing of his nomination. The Union Ministry found that document provided by Ramesh is said to be “fabricated” and is not “real”.

This is now likely to put a full stop to long battle waged by his rival candidate Aadi Srinivas since 2009. Srinivas has moved High Court and even Supreme Court against Ramesh’s citizenship and finally, Union Ministry has pronounced verdict on Ramesh’s citizenship.

According to reports, Ramesh had allegedly cancelled his Indian citizenship and moved to Germany where he has been working as a professor in an Agricultural University and married a German woman there. So, Ramesh is no longer Indian. And India doesn’t accept dual citizenship. So, Ramesh’s citizenship is now considered as Germany.

Aadi Srinivas contested from Congress lost to Ramesh in 2009. And he again lost to Ramesh in 2014 polls when Aadi contested from BJP with a very tender difference.

However, Chinnamaneni Ramesh stated that he would go to appeal on his citizenship. While Aadi Srinivas is demanding that he would be declared as Vemulawada MLA since he has come in the second place, TRS is now worried that a by-election would be announced in Vemulawada. More details are yet to come.

Mahesh’s BAN Out, Pawan & Balayya In

Mahesh Babu and Koratala Siva’s Bharath Ane Nenu was originally scheduled for Sankranthi. However, latest reports indicate that the film is out of Sankranthi race. So, Sankranthi would have Pawan Kalyan and Trivikram Srinivas untitled film (PK 25) and Balakrishna – KS Ravikumar’s yet-to-be-titled film.

Recently, the shooting of Mahesh and Koratala’s film was cut short in Lucknow after the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) denied permission to shoot the film at historic site. Apart from this, the makers apparently want more time to shape it up well and hence it can’t come for January 2018.

With this, there is scope for one or two more films to join the Sankranthi race – considering that three to four films release for Sankranthi. However, one is not sure whether Ram Charan’s Rangasthalam that opted out of Sankranthi would now join back or not. Since there is Babayi’s film coming up, Charan has decided to move on in order to avoid the Box Office clash.

Inside Story: Brahmini Behind Satakarni

Share

Of all Balayya’s films in the recent times, his Gauthamiputra Satakarni is surely one of his wisest choices he made. The historic epic conceived by Krish Jagarlamudi has a better script than Balayya’s regular films including the latest one Paisa Vasool which has drawn poor reviews from critics.

However, not many know how Satakarni really materialised. In fact, Balayya was initially reluctant and not ready to work with Krish. However, it is Nara Brahmini who suggested her dad to listen to Krish’s script when he was in a good mood. Balayya was convinced and said to have agreed to give 30 minutes time for Krish to narrate the script but by the time Krish finished the narration to Balayya, it is over 3 hours. Balayya immensely loved the script and he readily gave his nod to Krish. There is no looking back for Krish and Balayya.

Apparently, Brahmini and even Nara Lokesh sometimes suggest Balayya and the actor listens to them carefully. Balayya is ready to listen to take inputs from new generation but it has to be told in a convincing way by loved ones.

While Balayya is busy working on KS Ravikumar’s film, he is expected to act in his father’s biopic. All eyes are on legendary NTR’s biopic to be bankrolled by Vishnu Induri.

Can Dad’s Lover Bring Luck To Son?

Share

It is very rare to see an actress romancing both real life father and son. Among this generation actresses, only Kajal Aggarwal has pulled off this feat by pairing with Charan in three films and later with Megastar Chiranjeevi in ‘Khaidi No.150’. She proved lucky for both this star father-son duo.

Beautiful actress Lavanya Tripathi is the latest actress falling in this rarest category. She paired with Nagarjuna Akkineni in ‘Soggade Chinni Nayana’, which turned out to be the actor’s biggest commercial hit till date. Now, she has teamed up with Nag’s son, Naga Chaitanya in his upcoming film, ‘Yuddham Sharanam’. She proved lucky for Nag, can she cast the same luck on Chaitu?

The promos of Yuddham Sharanm looked intriguing but the film somehow doesn’t have as much hype as Chaitu’s last films – Ra Randoy Veduka Chooddam and Premam had. Both Chaitu and Lavanya are promoting the film by giving media interviews and also touring key cities across the Telugu states.

Chaitu has decent grossers under his belt but he is still waiting for that solo blockbuster that can catapult him to A league. Let’s see if Yuddham Sharanam which has his dad’s lucky lady, Lavanya in lead role, can become that eluding blockbuster for Chaitu.

Can Rajamouli Save Srivalli?

Share

Of late, Rajamouli is busy saving many films by his twitter-reviews, though people are not taking some of his tweets seriously. His recent liking for films like Patel Sir and Paisa Vasool are bigger examples how the maverick director is promoting ventures that are carved by people close to him. And he’s all set to save an erotic thriller now.

SS Rajamouli is undoubtedly the top director of Indian cinema and he proved it once again with Baahubali: The Conclusion. His father Vijayendra Prasad is one of the top writers of Indian cinema, with films like Baahubali and Bajrangi Bhaijan. Unfortunately, he could not succeed as a director despite several attempts with films like Sri Krishna 2006 and Rajanna. His next directorial, an erotic thriller, Srivalli is all set for release on September 15th, after delayed by a year.

Despite claiming this as an erotic thriller, Vijayaendra Prasad failed to bring any attention. But now, he’s making his son SS Rajamouli lent his voice for Srivalli after looking at the low buzz the film is carrying. Rajamouli is said to have completed the voiceover work other day which has been planned to the last minute. Will adding Rajamouli’s voice help this so called new-genre new-generation work of Baahubali writer? Only time will tell.

Neha Hinge, Rajeev Kanakala, Rajath and Hema played the lead roles in this thriller which has been produced by Rajkumar Brundavanam. After a huge delay, the movie has been announced for release on September 15th. Srivalli has been slated for release in Telugu, Tamil and Kannada languages.
