Director’s Daughter Fumes At Drugs Scandal
Film industry slipped into huge shock with director Puri Jagan’s name surfacing in the Drug Scandal and many celebs who hang around his office are also named in it, as per media reports. While Excise Department denied giving any names out to media, some celebs denied that they got reports while everyone collectively condemned that they are not into drugs.
While many chose to stay silent about the drugs thing even when their friend’s names surfaced, director Puri Jagan’s daughter responded in style on social media. Asking not to blame her father, Pavitra Puri says, “Just because my dad is a celebrity it doesn’t mean you can spread or believe in stupid rumours. He is a family person and before showing your finger at him, just think of his family and his reputation in the industry”.
Pavitra stated that she’s blaming those jobless people who are writing badly about her father. Speaking more about Puri Jagan, she added, “He is a person who keeps running behind his goals. Being a director his brain is his investment and future, so he will never spoil his career with these habits. Concluding with a big shout, she says, “MY DAD IS NOT INVOLVED IN DRUGS” and asked those who are trolling her to mind their words.
Earlier with reports coming out that Puri Jagan asked Excise officials to catch the really big fish rather running after him, the director tweeted, “I have not given any statement regarding anything n anyone till now.. very busy completing my film #PaisaVasool”.
Top Producer Denies Involvement of his 2 Sons in Drugs
For the past few days, a tense atmosphere has engulfed Tollywood as people are scared whose name may crop up next related to drugs. The situation is so sensitive that even a minor rumor can cause heavy damage to celebs’ image.

Trade Talk: Nani Scores Another Super Hit
Nani’s Ninnu Kori is already a super hit as its buyers are into profits and likely to make more in the coming days.

There is no drop in collections on Friday despite a couple of new releases means it is all set for another strong weekend.

Tollywood’s prestigious AK Entertainments banner Production no 11 is announced with hero Nikhil.
What’s so special about the project is Nikhil’s friendly favourite directors Chandoo Mondeti and Sudheer Varma are roped to provide dialogues and screenplay respectively while debutante Sharan Koppisetti is the director.
The youthful college backdrop film is also looking for some new faces to share the screen space and a casting call is also declared by the Production house.
Post Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada and Keshava success, Nikhil is riding high on spirits.
According to sources, Sudheer Varma’s screenplay has come out so well and Chandoo’s dialogues will do a lot of good for this untitled project. Young Ajanish Loknath is scoring the music.
Premieres Cancelled : Expect the Unexpected
Jagapathi Babu’s Patel Sir has received a major set back even before its domestic release as the film’s premieres in the US were cancelled on Thursday night there. While the exact reasons are not known, it is learnt that technical glitches and error in content have pushed the exhibitors in the US to cancel the premieres.
This ‘unexpected’ technical glitch said to have costed huge to producer Sai Korrapati who is releasing the film on his own in the US. The cancellation of premiers of Patel Sir has helped Sundeep-Nara Rohit’s Shamantakamani and also Nani-starrer Ninnu Kori.
With poor reviews and bad word of mouth for Patel Sir, the film’s revenue in overseas is expected to took a strong beating.
How Nani Emerged as King of US BO?
Superstar Mahesh Babu has held the title of ‘Undisputed King of US box office’ for so long. It seems that the star hero has ultimately lost it or is on the verge of losing it to Natural Star Nani, who has been on an unbelievable streak.
With ‘Ninnu Kori’ comfortably crossing the USD 1 Million mark, Nani now has 4 movies in this elite club (Eega, Bhale Bhale Magadovoyi and Nenu Local were first three). In comparison, Pawan Kalyan (3), Allu Arjun (3), Prabhas (2), Ram Charan (just 1) and Nagarjuna (2) are far behind him.
Nani has now equaled NTR who also has 4 (Baadshah, Temper, Nannaku Prematho and Janatha Garage). Mahesh still is at the top with 6 movies (Dookudu, SVSC, 1 Nenokkadine, Aagadu, Srimanthudu and Brahmotsavam) in million dollar club. Considering Nani’s pace and consistency, it won’t take long for him to surpass Mahesh in terms of million dollar films in US.
Now, if you are a distributor, who would you invest on? At least USD 2.5M should be shelled to grab the rights of Mahesh’s film and in case of a failure like Brahmotsavam, the damage will be huge. On the other hand, one can escape with minor losses even in the worst scenario with a Nani’s film. If a money spinner like BBM happens, the profits will be huge. Nani’s films have proved to be safe-to-profitable in USA.
US audiences seek freshness in films and they hardly bother about commercial formula, the success of Ninnu Kori is a fine example. Nani has understood their tastes and is serving what they need. It is not an overstatement to call him the ‘king of US box office’.
