Threat To Sastry’s 10 Crores At Box Office

Share

‘DJ Duvvada Jagannadham’ has made nearly 66 crores ‘share’ from the box office till date through its Telugu version. And then, the film did an amazing 76 crores pre-release business and when the print-publicity costs included it should collect around 80 crores ‘share’ to make all the distributors safe.

Going by the current trends, DJ will have some trouble in the third week. Even if we exclude the upcoming Malayalam version, the film should collect 76 crores share here itself. Is it really possible for the movie to cover 10 crore ‘share’ more? Two latest releases are surely going to trouble Jagannadha Sastry going by the initial public talk.

Nani’s Ninnu Kori is getting a good response from multiplex crowds and A-centre audiences, while Sridevi’s crime thriller Mom is also getting similar attention in A-centres. All these days DJ Duvvada Jagannadham has no opponent at the box office and that’s the reason it reaped the benefits despite getting the negative talk. But now that these two films becoming an option for filmgoers, definitely that effect will be there on DJ’s trade, say experts.

Despite some repeated controversies surrounding the movie, it looks like the craze of the film is slowly going down. Now that two new releases are trying to make their presence felt, their success will pose threat to DJ’s balance vasool from the box

Torture For A Dozen Music Directors??

Share

Creative director Krishna Vamsi casually joked, “Generally actors don’t torture me, but I torture them back” and the whole of auditorium turns noisy with laughing. But is there something really ‘true’ that he’s revealing through this? Maybe.

One look at the songs of his latest movie “Nakshatram” makes one thing clear. Not all the songs are composed by one particular music director, but there are three names there. While Bheems composed three songs, Bharat Madhudsudhan composed two songs and Hari Gowra composed one song in the album. There is an interesting talk going about this.

Actually, it’s not just these three, but nearly a dozen composers have worked with Krishna Vamsi to create Nakshatram album. As he didn’t like their work after some time, he let them off and tried another one. Finally, he loved the work of these three composers and retained their songs, while Bheems was handled the background score work.

Those who didn’t get the chance to get featured here in the final album are heard saying, it’s a torture to work with KV as he won’t remember what’s the brief he has given about that particular song when they met last time. Continuous changing of ideas, themes and inputs has irritated them all and they left the project, a source adds.

Some directors change cinematographers this way and it’s rare that it gets applied to composers too. Hope Krishna Vamsi’s final ‘audio’ choice gets appreciated.

Pic Talk: When Regina Kissed Shriya!!

Share

It looks like senior heroine Shriya Saran is maintaining that camaraderie with her juniors as well. During her heydays, she used to be good friends with the likes of Genelia and Trisha and that continues even now. But now a huge set of new heroines have arrived at the block, surely the senior knows how to gel along.

A couple of days before, the bonding between dusky siren Regina Cassandra and our senior beauty became the talked about thing. That 28-year-old actress and this 34 year ‘old’ siren are part of the movie “Nakshatram” though they don’t have any scenes together. While Regina is the heroine, Shriya did an item number.

However, before the audio launch, two two have posed at the hotel lobby in a quite playful mood. Especially when Regina planted a kiss on the cheek of her senior, that’s a sight worth seeing. Definitely, this egoless behaviour of Shriya is what makes her mingle with everyone easily and that’s what winning opportunities too, say some observers.

At the same time, even Regina is known for her friendship with various heroines, from Rakul to Rashi Khanna, Samantha to others. Who said, pretty girls, fight among themselves and can’t stay in the same place, in plain sight, for hours

Court Cases To Pose Hurdle For Jagan Padayatra?

Share

YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy is getting ready to embark on the state-wide padayatra sometime in the last quarter of this year in the run-up to the next elections, but the biggest hurdle for him seems to the court cases pending against him.

It is nothing but natural that Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu will not keep quiet when his bitter rival goes on a padayatra to run down his government.

He will try to create hurdles in the padayatra. And the best way for him is to disturb him with court summons, using his influence.

Sources say there is every possibility that Jagan would be frequently summoned to the CBI court during the trial on his quid pro quo cases.

And if he does not attend, the court might even issue arrest warrants against him. This would not only disturb his padayatra schedule, but also help the TDP to launch a counter-offensive.

Even now, Jagan is being hounded by courts. On Friday, Jagan received a dressing down from the CBI court for his absence.

He and his MP V Vijay Sai Reddy were supposed to be present in the Nampally court, but due to the party plenary in Guntur, Jagan’s counsel filed a petition in the court that he would not be able to make it to the court.

The court felt angry for the excuse and said it was wrong on the part of Jagan to cite political reasons for non-appearance in the court proceedings. I

t gave a serious warning that any such absence in future would call for issuing a warrant against him. Subsequently, the next hearing was postponed to July 21.

Ravela Posters At MRPS Meet Irk Naidu!

Share

The posters that appeared in Guntur district welcoming Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi president Manda Krishna Madiga on the occasion of its public meeting – Kurukshetra Maha Sabha – in front of Acharya Nagarjuna University gate created ripples in the Telugu Desam Party.

For, the posters had the pictures of former minister and Telugu Desam Party MLA Ravela Kishore Babu, as if he is welcoming Manda Krishna.

The MRPS has chosen Guntur for the meeting only to attack TDP president and chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu for dodging on the issue of categorisation of SC reservations. Naturally, the posters with Ravela’s pictures would be an embarrassment to Naidu.

Ever since he was dropped from the Naidu cabinet, Ravela has been keeping away from the party activities, though he did not stage any open revolt against Naidu. But he apparently sought to register his protest for being sidelined in the party by supporting Manda Krishna.

There are reports that Ravela himself was behind the entire public meeting and he had provided the financial assistance to Krishna Madiga.

However, the TDP leaders are trying to play down Ravela’s pictures on the MRPS posters, saying that he had just extended moral support to Manda Krishna, because he was also from Madiga community. If Ravela attends the rally and makes any controversial remarks, then the party would think of disciplinary action, they said.

Mom: Sridevi Spellbinds in a Predictable Film

Share

Mom, a highly anticipated feature film starring veteran diva Sridevi in lead role, hit screens today. The response for the film is underwhelming despite Sridevi’s believable performance.

The film belongs to rape-revenge drama genre. How a mother takes law in her own hands and avenges when her daughter’s rapists are acquitted for the lack of incriminating evidence is the film’s basic story line.

The film has a connecting emotional touch, sometimes over-melodramatic though, but logic goes missing often. How a vulnerable and an elderly woman plans and executes strong and influential men with such unbelievable ease..wonder the viewers of ‘Mom’.

With her powerful performance, Sridevi brought alive the vulnerabilities in her character.. Nawazudding Siddiqui’s creepy performance as a detective is another factor that makes one sit through this unconvincing drama. The rest of the cast has also done neat job. The cliched execution has let down Sridevi’s efforts in ‘Mom’.

DJ Choreographer Lost 85kg in 1.5 Years!!

Share

In a country where films look incomplete without songs, choreographers play key role in making audiences laugh, cry and dance with their compositions. Choreographer Ganesh Acharya is one big name in Bollywood who has composed for a few Telugu films too, the recent being the ‘Asmaika Yoga’ song in Bunny’s DJ. He is a self-made star who rose swiftly up the rungs thanks to his passion for dance.

Most of the people who have seen him wonder how did he become such a popular choreographer. He used to weight about 200kg. Although his weight has never dented his dancing skills, he was allegedly often body-shamed in film circles over his weight.

Tired of the trolls, the talented choreographer has underwent a dramatic transformation and has reportedly lost an unbelievable 85 kilos. The National Award winning choreographer said that he had worked hard for one-and-half years in order to lose those many kilos.

“I danced even when I had so much weight, and now, as I have shed significant weight, the energy in my dance has doubled,” Acharya said with excitement.
