H1-B Applications Cap reached In just 5 Days

Despite growing attacks on Indians and the existing Trump-factor, Indians doesn’t seem to be in a mood to suspend their interest towards pursuing US dream. Like in the past, the H1-B mania is still quite as per the latest report by The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). USCIS is an official agency that handles the procedure and process of US immigration.

USCIS has released an official statement stating that it has reached ‘the mandated 65,000 cap of H1-B visa applicants for the fiscal year 2018’ in just five days. And that eventually highlights the craze for America and H1-B is still intact. In addition, it’s also reported in the statement that more than 20,000 petitions were received under US advanced degree exemption.

Interestingly, the agency (USCIS) began to accept the applications, for the year 2018, starting from Monday and it will continue to accept petitions. On the sidelines of President Donald’s popular campaign ‘Buy American, Hire American’, there was a kind of worry among Indian aspirants but that did not clearly reflect on the number of applications received.

On other hand, USCIS also confirms that petitions filed on behalf of existing H1-B holders who retain their cap number won’t be taken into consideration as part of mandated FY 2018 H1-B cap.

The quota for H1-B visas were assumed to get down after Trump became the new President of US, but the quota of 85,000 remained unchanged when the agency began to accept petitions this week.

Pawan Slams Racist Remarks Against South India

Former BJP MP Tarun Vijay’s racist remarks have created quite uproar in South India as several top leaders slammed Tarun for referring South Indians as ‘blacks’.

Responding to Tarun’s remarks, actor-Jana Sena president Pawan Kalyan took his Twitter and severely condemned Tarun’s comments in a series of tweets. Although Pawan didn’t take direct name, he made strong comments against Tarun and his party (BJP). Pawan said it’s unfortunate that such ‘ideological’ people and the parties (BJP) that accommodate him exist at national level. This is one of the severe attacks of Pawan against BJP in the recent times.

Pawan wrote, “You need the revenue of ‘black’ South Indians but you look down upon South Indians. It’s our misery that people with such ideology and the parties that accommodate people like him exist at national level.”

Pawan also recalled that India’s national flag was designed by a South Indian. Pawan added that the total proud and arrogance of North is visible in his (Tarun Vijay’s) words. While Tarun apologised to his words and clarified, Pawan said it as ‘unforgettable’ and stated that such distinction of North and South divide the nation.

Earlier, former BJP MP Tarun participated in a discussion on international channel Al Jazeera over ‘racism’ against Nigerians, Africans in India after an assault on a group of Nigerians was reported in Greater Noida recently.

Speaking in the discussion, Tarun said that Indians cannot be called ‘racists’ as they live with ‘black people’ from the Southern states of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. “If we were racist, why would we have the entire south, which is complete, you know, Tamil, you know Kerala, you know Karnataka and Andhra, why do we live with them? We have black people around us,” said Vijay.

Tarun Vijay later aplogised and admitted his remarks sounded ‘ridiculous and very bad’.

“In many parts of the nation we have different people, in colour and never ever we had any discrimination against them,” he tweeted. “My words perhaps were not enough to convey this. Feel bad, really feel sorry, my apologies to those who feel I said different than what I meant,” he wrote.

Mani Sir Spoiled Two Important Moments

Share

karthi

Today’s release “Cheliya” has evoked mixed response from both critics and audiences. While some liked the emotional love story in the film, many are disappointed with the lag in second half. However, there are two important scenes in the second half that are spoiled due to bad making.

The scene where heroine wears Cap of an officer, which is shown in the trailer also, is expected to have some patriotic touch. But it ended up as a bad scene as it is portrayed as a mere egoistic episode. Lovers of films like Roja and Bombay expected a patriotic and sentimental touch here, but that’s largely missing.

At the same time, there are scenes related to Pakistan flag and Afghanistan embassy and they went like a zap. Had Maniratnam dealt these scenes with much more detailing and layering, definitely, they would have created goosebumps. But with director Sir handling them in a simple tone, the film lost its direction midway.

Otherwise, Cheliya has some good moments where Maniratnam would have talked more about Kargil War’s popular officers like Nachiketa, a fighter pilot, who was caught by Pakistan as Prisoner Of War and later returned to Indian forces again.

Why Chiru & Balayya Failed To Connect?

Share

bala

Megastar Chiranjeevi has made his re-entry into films after a long gap and scored a brownie. His comeback movie Khaidi No. 150 became a 100+ crore hit at box office. At the same time, Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Gautamiputra Satakarni released amidst huge hype and the film thrilled history lovers. Guess what, there is a connectivity issue for both these heroes now.

Expected to take small screen by a storm, Chiranjeevi turned host for the latest season of Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu, but the stint has flopped big time. While programs like Jackpot are getting better ratings, MEK is failing to get 2+ TRP ratings, proving that Chiru’s charisma is ending for a disaster on small screen.

Other day when Gautamiputra Satakarni was screened on TV, the film got just 2.52 TRP ratings while it’s rival on other channel Satamanam Bhavati fetched 15.5+ TRP ratings. That proves all the hype and hoopla round Balayya’s movie during the time of release have failed to created sparks on TV. Well, where did our top heroes went wrong when it comes to TV? Why did they fail to connect with home audiences?

Some experts say, Chiranjeevi is in a hitch whether to be natural on TV or just act like he’s doing a silver screen. That’s not bringing the best out of his comedy timing, emotions and natural reactions. Coming to Satakarni, they say that already the film was watched by the maximum in theatres and all that hype didn’t long last that it will click on television.

Vikram & Tamannah Sketch First Look Poster

Over the last couple of years, actor Vikram was quite impressive with first looks, teasers and trailers, but when it comes to film- he failed terribly. I, 10 Endrathukulla and Iru Mugan are the three films, released in 2015 and 2016, that failed to bring him success although his performances drew huge appraise.

In the recent past, the teaser of Vikram’s new film Dhruva Natchathiram, directed by Gautam Menon, invited stunning response from all over. And yet again, the actor is back with the first look of his new film Sketch (Chiyaan 53).

Already, few leaked pictures of Vikram are widespread on social media. The first official glimpse of the film has Vikram posing his four fingers in a spirited manner- which reminds us of his ‘Gemini’ (2002) look.

Directed by Vijay Chander, Sketch is being produced by Kabali fame S Thanu and it has Tamannah Bhatia playing the female lead. Thaman SS is scoring audio tunes.

Pellichoopulu is now reputed at National level. It is awarded Best Telugu Film at 64th National Awards announced just now and Tharun is also honored as best writer.

“Actually, I never expected this sort of recognition for my work. I was also uninformed on National Awards announcement coming up today. Though I am excited, these awards made me more responsible.

I consider Maniratnam garu as a god. I went for first day first show of Cheliyaa and as I came out from the temple (theater), I heard the news of being bestowed with National Award. It was a like a blessing showered on me.

Once I come out of PC hangover, I will be back at continuing the writing for my second film.
Awards are always encouraging.

I promise to work on blending commerciality and award winning content targeting the sweet spot of extending my experimentation. I thank everyone who supported me in PC journey,” Tharun Bhascker exclusively shared his first reaction.

Jagan Has Nothing Do With Sakshi Interview

Share

jagan

YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy on Friday made it clear to the special CBI court in Hyderabad that he had nothing to with the interview given by former chief secretary P Ramakanth Reddy to Sakshi television channel.

Jagan’s advocates submitted a counter-affidavit to the court on the CBI’s petition seeking cancellation of bail given to him in the alleged illegal assets case. The court posted the case to April 21.

In his counter-affidavit, Jagan said Sakshi had conducted the interview as part of its professional duty.

“All that Ramakanth Reddy had stated was in response to various questions asked by the correspondent. In what way am I concerned with the interview? How can it be construed that I had tried to influence the witnesses?” Jagan asked.

The CBI had argued that Sakshi belonged to Jagan and it had deliberately carried the interview with Ramakanth Reddy, who made several comments against the CBI and its investigation. It was obvious that Jagan tried to influence the witnesses with the interview, the CBI said.

TDP Leaders Lack Decency, Decorum!

botsa

YSR Congress has condemned the remarks of TDP MPs J C Diwakar Reddy and Avanti Srinivas who spoke without any decorum or decency on the office of the President.

“Our leader Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has met the President Pranab Mukherjee and submitted a representation to intervene in the undemocratic manner in which four defectors were inducted into the cabinet by Chandrababu Naidu.

But the MPs were speaking low about the President saying ‘what can he (President) do other than only offering coffee.’ It is highly condemnable and does not go well in a parliamentary democracy,” party senior leader Botsa Satyanarayana told reporters here on Friday.

“We have to respect the institution of the President and cannot dub if people start pass such derogatory remarks it is blot on democracy, he said adding that the Save Democracy campaign taking up by the Party has been a success.

It is shame on their part to tell that berths were given to defectors as there are no proper persons within TDP ranks, though it is the prerogative of the Chief Minister, the objection lies in picking up turncoats against whom cases are pending with the Speaker for disqualification for crossing over, he said.

“Chandrababu Naidu has been using every forum to criticize YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and even the birth anniversary of Babu Jagjivan Ram was used for it. This streak comes out of the fear of our leader’s popularity,” he said.
