Interview Helped Anupama, Not Pawan
Before the release of his summer biggie, Sardaar Gabbar Singh, the ever reclusive Power Star Pawan Kalyan came out of his hibernation and surprised everyone when he gave an interview to popular Bollywood film critic and author Anupama Chopra.Pawan may have thought that the interview will help him get more recognition Bollywood. But Sardaar’s Hindi version too bombed big just like its Telugu version and the interview failed too didn’t do any good to Pawan’s Bollywood aspirations.
However, the interview seems to have helped Anupama Chopra big-time. The lady has managed to get Pawan’s support to the Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival. Anupama is the Festival Director for this prestigious film festival which is reeling from severe financial crunch.
Over the past couple of years, Anupama has been running from pillar to post to gather funds to run the film festival. Already, several popular Bollywood celebs like Aamir Khan, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh etc lent their support to their support. Pawan is the latest celeb to join the list along with south stars Suriya and Prithviraj Sukumaran.
Amala Replaces Samantha
Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu is not signing new films off late. What’s more she has even walked out of a Tamil crime drama film Vada Chennai that will have Dhanush playing lead role. The actress even gave back advance amount recently to producers. Dhanush is producing the film in association with his director Vetrimaran and Lyca Productions.
Now, reports suggest that the makers are in talks with married actress Amala Paul and that she is likely to replace Samantha in the upcoming trilogy. If things go well, this will be second film for Amala Paul with hero Dhanush. The duo previously romanced in successful movie Raghuvaran B Tech.
Vada Chennai that will have music composed by Santhosh Narayanan also stars Andrea, SamuthiraKani, Karunas and Daniel Balaji in central roles. The film will showcase the horrific history of North Chennai. Production for the film began in last month.On the other hand, Samantha is presently shooting for young tiger Jr NTR starrer Janatha Garage which is slated for release on August 12th. The actress has signed a film with her rumored boyfriend Naga Chaitanya. The film to be directed by Kalyan Krishna will go on floors later this year.
NTR Targets Bunny Records
The recently released teaser of ‘Janatha Garage’ is creating ripples in Youtube. The teaser completely focused on NTR and Mohanlal is just seen at the end. But, in the Malayalam teaser, we can see Mohanlal is given due importance. This is done to increase the craze over the film in Kerala too.
We know that Allu Arjun has strong market in Kerala. His recent film ‘Yodhavu'(dubbed version of ‘Sarrainodu’) collections were equal to local films. Now, with Mohanlal’s presence, NTR is trying to create market in Kerala. Sources say that the makers have planned Malayalam audio launch in cities like Kochin and Thiruvananthapuram. This shows that NTR is trying to give competition to Bunny in Kerala.
On the other hand, the audio launch of the film is expected to be held on 22nd July. As ‘Janatha Garage’ is from the combo of ‘NTR-DSP’, expectations are sky high over this audio.
‘I would love to play him on screen’
The entire country, including the two Telugu states, is going gaga over how the Bollywood star Salman Khan’s Eid release, Sultan, is wreaking havoc on box-offices all-over. Salman was seen as a powerful desi wrestler in the film.And later this year, yet another Bollywood’s top star Aamir Khan too will hit the screens with Dangal, a film on the life of famous Indian wrestler Mahavir Phogat. Aamir’s body transformation pictures have already set the expectations soaring on the film.
But move over Salmans and Aamirs as Tollywood will soon get its own wrestler in the form of the giant Rana Daggubati. Rana recently revealed that he is researching about the life and times of the famous Telugu wrestler Kodi Ramamurthy Naidu from Vizianagaram.
Rana expressed his wish to play the legendary wrestler on screen as he has been in awe of him ever since he learnt about him in his school books. “He was accorded the title of Kaliyuga Bheema by King George V. I would love to play him on screen,” Rana said.Kodi Ramamurthy Naidu is known for his heroics like breaking iron chains by flexing his chest and getting an elephant walk on him etc. Given Rana’s gigantic physique, no wonder he is the best man to play Kodi Ramamurthy Naidu in Tollywood.
‘Justice League’ speculations: J.K. Simmons’ Gordon to replace Ben Affleck as Batman?
J.K Simmons is all set to play the role of Commissioner Gordon in DC Extended Universe’s (DCEU) upcoming “Justice League” movie. Fans are eagerly looking forward to see him portraying the role of the iconic DC comic book character.Simmons is known for his versatile roles. From playing the constantly grumpy and angry J. Jonah Jameson in Sam Raimi’s “Spider-Man” movies to portraying the inspiring teacher in “Whiplash” — he indeed has a knack to turn any of his role into iconic ones that become fan favourites.
Recently, Simmons uploaded some images from his time at the gym. The pictures show him working hard and gaining a lot of muscles. Though it is not yet confirmed, it seems that the pictures showcase Simmons’ preparation for “Justice League.”According to Comic Book, several speculations and rumours state that Simmons’ Gordon might don Batman’s costume and take the role away from Ben Affleck in the upcoming movie, at least at some point. In recent comic books of Batman, Gordon has been revealed to be one of the many incarnations of the caped crusader. Hence, it might be a possibility.
In a recent storyline titled “End Game” by Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo, a violent fight ensued between Batman and the Joker that concluded with both being dead.When the Gotham City Police Department (GCPD) came to know of the tragedy, they decided to construct a “Mech suit” heavily inspired by Batman’s costume that was operated by none other than Gordon. Though Bruce Wayne was revealed to be alive later and returned as the Batman, Gordon protected the city as the Dark Knight from several issues.
However, Simmons has avoided revealing much about his version of Gordon in the upcoming movie and has said that he has been hitting the gym lately simply because he likes it. Though the comic book fans would love to see Gordon donning Batman’s suit (or armour) in the upcoming movie, no such confirmation has announced been made and the fans can only hope for it to happen.
Shruti Haasan’s role revealed in S3
Tamil Superstar Suriya’s S3 is being shot in Vishakapatnam. Shruti Haasan who will be seen as journalist in the film, is also shooting for the film there. S3 is the third installment in the successful Singham series. The movie shooting is nearing completion and the makers are planning Diwali release for the film.
Both the Telugu and Tamil version will have a simultaneous release. The movie is titled S3 instead of Singham-3 in Tamil, but there is no word regarding the title of the Telugu version. Anushka Shetty is the other female lead. Hari who wielded megaphone for the previous films in Singham series will also be directing this.
Devi Sri Prasad who is the regular composer of the Singham series is replaced by Harris Jairaj for this film. S3 is being jointly produced by Suriya’s home banner 2D Entertainment and Studio Green. Priyan is handling the camera. The makers will very soon begin the Telugu promotions with the first look poster release.
Dhruva missing Dussehra?
Mega Power Star Ram Charan’s Dhruva which was earlier planned for September end release as Dussehra Special, may be missing the festive release. The movie may be now pushed to October 28th release as Diwali Special. This is because the movie shooting is unlikely to complete for Dussehra Release.
Dhruva recently completed a brief schedule in Kashmir and just kick-started a major schedule in Hyderabad. The schedule will go on for one more month. Dhruva is the official remake of Tamil blockbuster, Thani Oruvan being directed by Race Gurram fame Surender Reddy. Tamil Music directors duo – Hiphop Tamizha will making their Telugu debut with this film.
Arvind Swamy who impressed every one as antagonist in the film, is reprising his role from the original. Allu Aravind and NV Prasad are jointly producing the movie. PC Vinod is cranking the camera. Ram Charan and Rakul Preet Singh are romancing for the second time in this film after their Bruce Lee – The Fighter.
