Samantha IITian! What About Nithya?
Long ago, we had reported that NTR would be seen as IIT Bombay student in his forthcoming film Janatha Garage. The latest is that Samantha would be NTR’s classmate and of course his love interest in the film. Though NTR and Sam have paired up earlier for 3 times and this is fourth time they’d be seen together, apparently director Koratala Siva made sure the romance between Sam and Tarak would be fresh and would be no match to their previous 3 films.
On other hand, the makers have been tight-lipped about the film’s another female lead Nithya Menen and have kept information about her role under the wraps. Though her role isn’t revealed completely, it’s learnt that Nithya would play crucial role and she is the major twist in the film.
Nithya’s entry itself is twist and everyone would be surprised how plot unfolds once she enters. As the film is all set for Aug 12 release, Koratala has increased the pace of making.
Kodandaram killed farmers?
Increase in the suicides of farmers is becoming the most burning problem in two telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Despite media and opposition taking up the issue and blasting the lethargic attitude of the Government and officials in finding a solution to end the problems of the farmers, ruling party especially TRS led by KCR has been vehemently denying them.
In turn TRS started attacking media branding it as yellow media for magnifying one off incidents. TJAC chairman Prof.Kodandaram who played key role in the formation of Telangana along with Pakala Srihari Rao, D.Narsihma Reddy and others approached High Court against the Government accusing it of not doing enough for the farmers.
They even submitted list of farmers who committed suicide and whose families didnot get the compensation. High Court after hearing the petition blasted Kodandaram and others for including the names of farmers who are verymuch alive in the list of those who committed suicide. On its part Government stated that it is taking all steps to help the families of the deceased farmers. Court directed the government to submit status report on suicides and why it rejected compensation for some with in two weeks.
Mohini – A Chef & A Ghost!
Trisha has turned into chef. Well, not real and it’s on reel in her forthcoming film. We learnt that the Bodyguard heroine is playing the role of a chef-cum-food blogger in her next film Mohini.
To add more authenticity to her character, Trisha has undergone special training from a few cooking experts. She learnt the body language of a cook from experts, to perform her role better -she has learnt how to bake a cake, too. The character is also into writing culinary tips in her blog. Trisha was kicked about this role as this is first-time she is playing such role in her career. Trisha will be seen as a baker, who runs her own restaurant in London.
What’s more? Interestingly, she is also playing a ghost in this horror drama. After completing the chef portions, Trisha will be shooting for the ghost character. Trisha shot for the film in London for over a month and returned recently. The team will be heading to Thailand soon to can some major scenes.
More than 1,000 restaurants are hacked for credit, debit card info: Wendy’s
Wendy’s said hackers were able to steal customers’ credit and debit card information at 1,025 of its US restaurants, far more than it originally thought.The hamburger chain said Thursday hackers were able to obtain card numbers, names, expiration dates and codes on the card, beginning in late fall. Some customers’ cards were used to make fraudulent purchases at other stores.
Wendy’s urged customers to check their accounts for any fraudulent purchases.The Dublin, Ohio, company first announced it was investigating a possible hack in January. In May, it said malware was found in fewer than 300 restaurants. About a month later, it said two types of malware were found and the number of restaurants affected was “considerably higher.”
There are more than 5,700 Wendy’s restaurants in the US.Customers can see which locations were affected through the Wendy’s website. The company said it is offering free one-year credit monitoring to people who paid with a card at any of those restaurants.
Putin signs controversial ‘Big Brother’ law
Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed into law a package of controversial anti-terror amendments dubbed “Big Brother” measures by critics that may cost internet companies billions.The measures, posted online Thursday by the government, boost the surveillance powers for the security services by requiring communication providers to store users’ calls, messages, photographs and videos for six months, as well as metadata for up to three years.
They also have to provide security services with access to this data and any necessary encryption mechanisms necessary to use it.They also criminalise several offences, lower the age of criminal responsibility to 14 for some crimes and extend prison sentences for online crimes like abetting terrorism.The passage of the bills through Russia’s lower and upper houses of parliament sent shockwaves through the internet and telecoms industries.
In an interview with Kommersant daily published Thursday, CEO of Megafon mobile provider Sergei Soldatenkov said that the law as it stands would require the company to spend 200 billion rubles ($3.1 billion) to ensure the data storage requirement — four times its annual profit.”This bill financially kills the telecommunication industry,” he said, instead proposing that the government tax the industry by an additional one percent and use the money to build the necessary infrastructure.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told journalists Thursday that Putin also tasked the government to monitor “how this law is realised” and take measures if there are “undesirable” consequences.The law inspired the former US intelligence contractor turned privacy activist Edward Snowden to issue a rare comment on a domestic policy in Russia, where he is currently living in exile.Snowden said Thursday on Twitter it was a “dark day for Russia”.

3 killed in attack on Bangladesh Eid gathering
Suspected Islamist militants launched another deadly attack in Bangladesh on Thursday, using bombs, guns and machetes, on an Eid rally, killing two policemen and a woman. One of the attackers was shot dead by the police.
The incident occurred at 9.45 a.m. near the historic Sholakia Eidgah in eastern Kishoregonj district, some 150 km north of Dhaka, where an estimated 3,00,000 people gathered to offer prayers. The attack was launched just before the prayers were to begin.
A group of three assailants first hurled bombs at a police checkpoint near the gathering. The police responded with gunfire to prevent the attackers from coming close to the congregation. The civilian who died in the attack was identified as Jharna Rani Bhoumik. Additional Superintendent of the Kishoreganj police Abu Sayem confirmed that four persons were killed on the spot. The police arrested two attackers. and recovered a pistol and machetes from the scene. At least 20 people were injured in bomb blasts and gunfire. One of the attackers held has been identified as Abu Mukaddem of northern Dinajpur.
