The cast of Marvel Cinematic Universe’s (MCU) upcoming instalment “Spider-Man: Homecoming” is getting more interesting as some prominent actors have been signed for the movie in yet-to-be-revealed roles including Bokeem Woodbine, Michael Mando and Abraham Attah.Michael Mando is known for his recurring roles in TV series like “Orphan Black” and “Better Call Saul” while Attah came to limelight last year after his role in critically acclaimed “Beasts of No Nation.” According to Slash Film, Woodbine, who is known for FX’s “Fargo,” will play a villainous role in the movie.

As reported by Deadline, Attah is the latest addition to an ensemble cast that consists of some of the most iconic actors, including Michael Keaton as the antagonist (most probably The Vulture). Though Attah’s role hasn’t been revealed yet, most probably he will be playing one of Peter Parker’s school mates, given his young age.Apart from the initial cast of Tom Holland, Marisa Tomei, and Robert Downey Jr, actors who have joined recently are Donald Glover, Kenneth Choi, Martin Starr, Logan Marshall-Green, Hannibal Buress, Tony Revolori and Zendaya.

Directed by Jon Watts, “Spider-Man: Homecoming” will mostly centre around New York City; one of the prominent locations in Spider-Man comic books. The filming has begun in Atlanta.”Homecoming” will be second reboot of Spider-Man film franchise, the previous two being Sam Raimi’s “Spider-Man” trilogy that starred Toby Maguire as the titular hero and Marc Webb’s “The Amazing Spider-Man” and “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” in which Spidey was played by Andrew Garfield.

Scheduled to release on July 7, 2017, “Spider-Man: Homecoming” and will be sixteenth movie in MCU franchise, followed by “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2,” which will hit the theatres on May 5, 2017.

Brexit’s winners and losers

Share

BB

Here are the winners and losers from U.K’.s EU membership referendum, after the country voted to leave the 28-member alliance on Friday:

Losers

David Cameron

There was widespread agreement among experts before the referendum that the Prime Minister, who put his integrity on the line for a ‘Remain’ vote, could not survive losing. He promised to call the vote in 2013 on the basis of reforms that he ultimately secured in February this year, and used the power of his Conservative government to warn of the economic risks of leaving the E.U.In a letter to the Prime Minister released after polls closed on Thursday, 84 leading Brexit campaigners including former London mayor Boris Johnson, tipped as a likely successor, urged Mr. Cameron to stay on.

“We believe whatever the British people decide, you have both a mandate and a duty to continue leading the nation implementing our 2015 manifesto,” they wrote.Mr. Cameron’s continued presence in Downing Street may be required as a stabilising force as financial markets slumped on news of the referendum results, but many believe a leadership contest is now inevitable.

George Osborne

A political and personal ally of Mr. Cameron, George Osborne stood by his side during the campaign and fronted many of the warnings of the economic risks of a Brexit.Although long tipped as a future Conservative leader, his fervent support for ‘Remain’, including calling his rivals “economically illiterate” for backing the ‘Leave’ campaign, has lost him many friends in the party. The Daily Telegraph dubbed him the “kamikaze chancellor” after he warned in the final days that a ‘Leave’ vote would force him to rip up his current budgetary plans, slash funding to schools and hospitals and raise taxes.

Jeremy Corbyn

The socialist leader of the main opposition Labour Party was criticised for his lukewarm support for the ‘Remain’ campaign and he is likely to be blamed for the decision by swathes of Labour voters to back a Brexit.

Winners

Boris Johnson

The former London mayor was a key figurehead in the official campaign for Britain to leave the E.U., urging Britain to “take back control” from Brussels. His charisma and unorthodox approach to politics won over many voters, and ensured he was always in the headlines — not always for the right reasons.

The Conservative lawmaker was widely criticised for claiming that the E.U. was behaving like Hitler in trying to create a superstate. But he has long been the bookmakers’ favourite to replace Mr. Cameron. Critics accused him of having his eye on Downing Street more than getting Britain out of the E.U.

Nigel Farage

The vote to leave the European Union is a culmination of 25 years of campaigning for the leader of the U.K. Independence Party (UKIP).

A surge in support for Mr. Farage’s anti-immigration, anti-establishment party helped force Mr. Cameron into calling the referendum three years ago.But the MEP was widely condemned by fellow members of the Brexit camp for his relentless focus on how leaving the E.U. would help cut levels of immigration to Britain. Some commentators linked a UKIP poster of refugees queuing to get into Europe under the headline “Breaking Point” to the murder of pro-E.U. Labour lawmaker Jo Cox last week.

Michael Gove

The Justice Minister and hitherto Cameron loyalist was the most high-profile Conservative Cabinet Minister to break ranks with the Prime Minister. He said the Prime Minister made a “depressing” case for staying in, although he managed better than many of his colleagues in holding off in personal attacks on Mr. Cameron.

Too early to tell

Nicola Sturgeon

Scotland’s First Minister and lead of the secessionist Scottish National Party (SNP), Nicola Sturgeon had strongly backed a vote to remain in the E.U.She had threatened to call a second referendum on Scottish independence if — as happened on Thursday — the rest of Britain votes out but Scotland votes in.

Oka Manasu Movie Review and Rating

Share
Story:

Oka Manasu is a love story set between an aspiring politician, Surya (Naga Shourya) and a doctor Sandhya (Niharika) who resides in Viziangaram. Surya’s father (Rao Ramesh) is a small time politician who wants to make his son an MLA. Adhering to him, Surya does settlements and instills fear in people like the usual politicians. Sandhya hates Surya’s business and making her fears true, one day, he lands himself in jail. Later he gets out of the jail to face the situation where he has to choose between his father or Sandhya. What happens next in their lives forms the remaining story.
Performances:
Naga Shourya performed well in a two faced role as an obedient son and adorable lover. Oka Manasu is a tough ask for Niharika since it is her debut film. She performed okay if not great. Rao Ramesh is superb as usual. Srinivas Avasarala has got his usual kind of role but with no comedy. Pragathi as heroine’s mother is too loud and irritating. Vennela Kishore is just used for one comedy scene.
Technical Performances:
Oka Manasu is a clean and matured love story not from the routine love stories we come across. Director Ramaraju deserves good credit for that. However the snail paced narration of the story killed its prospect. For the most part of the film, we see the lead pair conversing with each other but the conversations between them are ineffective and boring. We only connect to their track towards the pre-climax, but by then every thing is over. The good part of the film is the track between the father and son. The first half of the film is totally disappointing with slow paced and uninteresting proceedings. The Second half of the film gets a little better and the climax is good and heart-touching.
Cameraman Ram Reddy should be commended for the wonderful visuals of Vizag and Araku. Every frame is made beautiful. Sunil Kashyap’s music is very effective with songs as well as back ground score working out big time. Some of the songs are really effective with arresting visuals, good music and fine lyrics by Rama Jogayya Sastry. Dharmendra Kakarla disappointed with the scissors in the first half. Production Values are appropriate.
Plus Points:
1. Story-line
2. Father-son track
3. Visuals
4. Climax
5. Music
Minus Points:
1. Slow Pace
2. Bad First Half
3. Poor dialogues
Final Say:
Oka Manasu is likely to end up as a disappointment for the team at the box office. The movie may at best get some critical acclaim. The slow paced narration killed the movie prospects, if not for the slightly engaging second half, things would have gone every worse.

Also, the actor’s new look has received a unanimous thumbs up from the movie buffs and he has been following a special vegetarian diet to maintain it. Looks like things are going great with Dhruva and Ram Charan is quite enjoying the process. If everything goes by the plan, producer Allu Aravind is contemplating to release the movie on 30 September, in the Dussera race.
