‘I Will Show KCR How To Run Government’
Telangana Joint Action Committee chairman Prof M Kodandaram, who has been maintaining strategic silence against the Telangana Rashtra Samithi government headed by K Chandrasekhar Rao all these days, sprang a surprise by suddenly bursting out against the Chief Minister on Sunday.Speaking at a conference, Kodanda said the TRS government had miserably failed to improve the living standards of the people and take up a single programme that would help the poor.
“If KCR cannot deliver goods, let him step down from the government. We will show him how to run the government,” he said.Kodanda pointed out that the TJAC had been fighting for the people’s rights and aspirations.“Had we not taken up the cause of the people, we would have wound up the TJAC long ago and merged it with the ruling TRS. We are continuing our fight for the people’s welfare,” he said.
He accused the TRS government of protecting the interests of real estate mafia, contractors and corporate houses, on the lines of earlier united Andhra Pradesh governments.“You cannot focus only on Hyderabad and its surroundings. Unless you protect the interests of people in the rural areas and farmers, there is no scope for Bangaru Telangana. The people will not tolerate the government any more,” he said.
INSIDE STORY: Mega Brothers have climax issues
Mega Brothers — Varun Tej and Sai Dharam Tej are the recent entrants to Telugu film industry from Mega family. However their careers have two different variations now. Varun Tej despite trying different things, is still struggling to make a name for him. Sai Dharam Tej relied on Mass Masala entertainers and achieved significant Box Office successes.
Varun Tej is keen on having the right script for his next project, Mister with Srinu Vaitla but is not happy with the way how he penned the Climax of the film. Hence the movie is still waiting on sidelines to begin the regular shoot. Varun Tej do not want to take chances as one more flop may endanger his career.
On the other side, Sai Dharam Tej also put his other project with Gopichand Malineni on a pause. The actor is also having a problem with the climax of the film. The project will go on floors only after the climax comes out well. Besides this project, Sai Dharam Tej has Thikka which is nearing completion and other project, Jawan (Working Title) with BVS Ravi. So, both the Mega Brothers have climax issues.

Hillary closes in on Democratic nomination as Puerto Rico votes
There were 60 pledged delegates at stake in Puerto Rico, and Ms. Clinton would need a commanding performance to get them all.But voters’ focus was mostly on the island’s economic crisis.Ms. Clinton and her rival, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, have visited Puerto Rico and pledged to help as the island’s government tries to restructure $70 billion worth of public debt the governor has said is unpayable.“This is one of the most important political moments for Puerto Rico,” said Emanuel Rosado, a 29-year-old Clinton supporter. “I’m taking action as a result of the economic crisis.”
Two weeks before the primary, Mr. Sanders criticised a rescue deal, negotiated by U.S. House leaders and the Obama administration, as having colonial overtones. In a letter to fellow Senate Democrats, Mr. Sanders said the House bill to create a federal control board and allow some restructuring of the territory’s $70 billion debt would make “a terrible situation even worse.”“That bill is anti-democratic and it’s not in the best interest of Puerto Rico,” said Jorge Gaskins, a 67-year-old farmer who supports Sanders and opposes a control board. “What we have now is a colonial relationship with the U.S.”
Ms. Clinton has said she has serious concerns about the board’s powers, but believes the legislation should move forward, or “too many Puerto Ricans will continue to suffer.”Both Ms. Clinton and Mr. Sanders spent Sunday in California, the biggest prize among the five states voting on Tuesday. Ms. Clinton told an enthusiastic crowd at Greater St. Paul Baptist Church in Oakland the country is “getting indifferent to the great toll of gun violence,” while Sanders made a series of stops in Los Angeles before an evening rally in San Diego.
“Sorry to disturb your brunch,” Mr. Sanders said at Hamburger Mary’s, taking the microphone during their “drag brunch” as disco lights swirled inside. “I just wanted to say that on Tuesday as you all know there is a very important Democratic primary here in California. And my hope is that everyone will stand up and make clear it is too late for establishment politics and establishment economics. We need real change in this country.”Nearly 2.9 million people are registered to vote in Puerto Rico. Turnout was expected to be high given that Puerto Ricans also were narrowing down their choice for the next governor, as well as senators, representatives and mayors.
Polls closed at 3 p.m. Some voters waited in line for hours in the heat, fanning themselves and requesting chairs.Juan Carlos Rosario, a 40-year-old designer and Mr. Sanders supporter, said he was disappointed about the House bill.“I haven’t seen anything that would help improve Puerto Rico’s economy,” he said. “The thing I’m most worried about is lobbyists aligning themselves with some candidates who obviously are not seeking what’s best for Puerto Rico, but what’s best for those who have donated to their campaigns and made them rich.”While they can participate in presidential primaries, Puerto Ricans do not vote in the November presidential election.
No matter, said former Gov. Anibal Acevedo Vila. He supports Puerto Rico’s current political status as a commonwealth and urged voters to participate in the primary.“Many in the past and today think that these presidential primaries are a ‘sham’ without consequences,” he said. “But given the threat that comes from the North and the powerful allies it has here, not taking advantage of this ‘sham’ to make our voice heard could be a precious wasted opportunity.”Among those voting was Democratic Party superdelegate Andres Lopez, one of the insiders who can vote for the candidate of their choice at the summer convention. He had remained uncommitted, but said Sunday he will support Ms. Clinton.
Ms. Clinton has 1,776 pledged delegates won in primaries and caucuses; Mr. Sanders has 1,501. When including superdelegates, her lead over Mr. Sanders is substantial 2,323 to 1,547.It takes 2,383 to win. With Lopez’s endorsement, all seven of Puerto Rico’s superdelegates have pledged their support for Ms. Clinton.“It is time to focus on squashing ‘El Trumpo,’” he said, referring to presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.
Former Maldives VP gets 10 years on terrorism charge
Former President Mohamed Nasheed, former Defense Minister Mohamed Nazim and head of a leading political party, Sheik Imran Abdulla, are the others to get lengthy prison terms. Nasheed has since been granted asylum in Britain. The cases have been criticized for a lack of due process violations.Adeeb still faces charges of trying to assassinate Gayoom when an explosion hit the presidential speedboat last year.
Gayoom made his trusted young protşgş Adeeb his vice president last July after sacking his running mate in the 2013 election.Later, authorities charged him with possessing firearms prohibited under the country’s terrorism law, and with corruption. The government says the mysterious blast was an assassination attempt even though FBI investigators said they found no evidence of a bomb explosion.
Nasheed along Gayoom’s running made Mohamed Jameel, who also lives in Britain, and supporters of Nazim and Adeeb formed a united opposition in exile last week with the aim to oust Gayoom.Maldives has a long history of being ruled by autocratic leaders.Gayoom’s half-brother Maumoon Abdul Gayoom ruled the country from 1978 to 2008 until he lost to Nasheed in the country’s first multiparty election. Nasheed resigned in 2012 after weeks of public protests for his role in jailing a sitting judge.
Ashok Babu Speaking Like A Politician!
AP NGOs Association leader Ashok Babu appears to be speaking like a politician, more so like an opposition party leader. This was evident from the way he made aggressive comments against the Chandrababu Naidu government which has been insisting on shifting of employees to Amaravati by June 27.
“How can Naidu dictate terms to employees? He has never implemented the promises he has made in the past. He said Pattiseema project would be completed by March, but he did not stick by the deadline. He said the secretariat complex would be ready by June 15 and asked the employees to come to Amaravati by that time. Now, he is saying June 27. So far, there are no guidelines for shifting. We are not prepared to go,” he said.
Till now, Ashok Babu was the most sought-after leader of Naidu. Suddenly, he has turned a villain for the Chief Minister, who came down heavily on him for obstructing the capital shift.“This is not correct. The employees have to cooperate with the government and start working from here. I have already assured that I would protect their interests,” the Chief Minister said.
