Superstar Mahesh Babu, known for delivering hits like “Pokiri”, “Athadu”, “Dookudu” and “Srimanthudu”, says he is “extremely passionate” about acting.
Excerpts from an interview:
Q: Your new film “Brahmotsavam” has generated a huge amount of curiosity and interest. Tell us about it?
A: ‘Brahmotsavam’ is a love story set in a family backdrop… It’s all about relationships people have on different levels.
Q: At this stage of your career, do you seek roles that challenge you as an actor. Does “Brahmotsavam” do that?
A: I don’t think challenge is the right word to use. Any film I do needs to excite me at a script level. ‘Brahmotsavam’ is something different yet again for me in terms of a character that I play .
Q: Why has the film’s release date been uncertain for a long time? What is the final release date?
A: As of now our audio release is scheduled for May 6. Then we will officially announce the release date.
Q: Were you satisfied with the way your last release “Srimanthudu” performed at the box office?
A: “Srimanthudu” is a film very close to my heart. It’s my first production and I’m more than happy with its performance at the box office.
Q: Lately there has been a huge controversy in the Telugu film industry regarding distributors who apparently demand compensations for losses suffered when a film flops. What is your opinion on this issue?
A: I prefer to believe it’s my responsibility if a film of mine works or doesn’t work.
Q: After 16 years as a leading man in Telugu cinema, are you looking at broadening your horizons?
A: At the moment, acting is what I love doing. And I’m extremely passionate about my job. I haven’t really given a thought to anything else yet!
INSIDE STORY: Pawan Kalyan making films only for money
Powerstar Pawan Kalyan already announced that he will be contesting 2019 elections and will be quitting films one or two years before the election. The actor also announced that he is suffering from a financial crunch and so is making films to bring in some money. However his choice of films in the recent times suggest that he is making films only for money.
Since Gopala Gopala, there are no notable cast and crew in his films. He is working with those who charge less remunerations. Since he is the partner in production of all the films, it will work out to him to keep the budget in check. Even in Sardaar Gabbar Singh, we can clearly see that there is no selling point in the film other than the actor.
He is doing the same for his next with SJ Suryah as well. The crew announced so far do not have a single significant name. We are said that they are even keen to rope in a new heroine to control the budget. But such sub-standard products towards the end of his career, will only spoil Pawan Kalyan’s name before entering politics.

42 year old DMK ex minister Vasanth Raj turned a busy realtor these days. Through a friend Shetty, Vasanth Raj booked a hotel room in Leela palace on April 25th near Bengaluru old airport. His friend escorted a call girl Nisha alias Tabassum to Bengaluru from Hyderabad on flight to entertain Vasanth.
Nisha asked the ex-minister for drinks and when he himself went out on it, she wiped his room clean and vanished from there. Shocked ex-minister hurried to police station and they tracked her crumbs to Hyderabad with the help of CCTV footage. The ex-minister felt the final twist only when he found that the call girl already lodged a sexual harassment complaint against
Chandrababu, 67 Years Young CM
Recently, Andhra Pradesh chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu celebrated his 67th birthday. Always known for his relentless efforts in bringing the state on the development path, Babu has been tirelessly working round the clock like no other CM in the country despite the scorching hot summer.
Every single day over the past few weeks, Babu, ignoring the alarmingly rising temperature levels, has not only been participating in various inaugurations, developmental schemes, party meetings but also inspiring his ministers and party men to follow suit. Babu follows his yoga and diet regimen religiously, which is said to be his fitness mantra.
On the other hand, Babu’s arch rival and the other Telugu CM KCR is mostly restricting himself to his farmhouse or camp offices and is rarely coming out in the heat, except for the recently concluded TRS plenary in Khammam.
Even Babu’s main political opponent in AP, YS Jagan is rarely seen in public all-through this summer to strive for people’s welfare, and is mainly camping at his Lotus Pond residence to concentrate on countering Babu’s Operation Akarsh. Today, the YSRCP chief came out of his hibernation and arranged a press meet to announce his protest plans for special status to AP.
