Tamil Film On AP Police’s Brutality
Currently, the entire Tamil film industry is going gaga over one small film, Visaranai (Interrogation). This realistic crime drama is based on the real life story of an auto driver from Madurai who, along with three other innocents, is captured by the Andhra Pradesh police and is brutally tortured in the name of enquiry.
Produced by Tamil star Dhanush and directed by national award winning filmmaker Vetrimaaran of Dhanush’s Aadukalam fame, Visaranai had its premiere show for celebs and media personnel yesterday.
Deeply moved by the film, legends like Kamal Haasan, Mani Ratnam and Priyadarshan etc couldn’t stop raving about it, including the critics who lauded the film to no limits. Apparently, some of the interrogation scenes in Visaranai are so brutal that even stone hearted people may find it tough to hold back their tears.
The film has one more Telugu connect, as the film’s leading lady, Anandhi (Hasika of Ee Rojullo fame) hails from Telangana. Ever since the film’s breathtakingly painful trailer was unveiled several months ago, Visaranai has been the talk of the town and the film even made a huge splash in several international film festivals. Visaranai is slated for a release on February 5th.

Pawan Behind That Suicide?
In a tragic twist to the ongoing uproar for Kapu reservations, a 53-year-old man named Cheekatla Venkataramanamurthy hanged himself demanding BC reservations for Kapus. Police recovered a suicide note from his pocket and it revealed several desperate state of affairs.
As per the media reports, Venkataramanamurthy, in his suicide note, made a striking comment against film star and Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan. Venkataramanamurthy said that Kapus have been waiting for Pawan’s intervention in the Kapus issue and strive for Kapus’ welfare.
Venkataramanamurthy further said that Pawan’s Janasena party, which claimed to ‘question’ the injustice, ended up without posing any questions. Incidentally, Venkataramanamurthy ended his life in the evening after Pawan’s press meet concluded.
On the other hand, Pawan Kalyan, right since the formation day of Janasena party until the yesterday’s press meet, kept on saying that he will never fight for a particular community and that he only longs for national integration. Time for some introspection?
Soggade beats three more movies
After having upper hand upon the other three movies that were released for Pongal, Soggade Chinni Nayana has beaten three more films to continue its domination at the box office. People expected Soggade Chinni Nayana to slow down after two weeks, but that is not happening as the movie is still raking in big numbers.
Three movies that were released on January 29th didn’t have the muscle and star power to come in Soggade Chinni Nayana’s way. Nagarjuna’s Pongal blockbuster collected two times more than the closest competitor through the weekend.
Seethamma Andalu Ramayya Sitraalu opening has been decent and the credit should go to Raj Tarun for his impressive track record. Kalavathi opened on a strong note as the masses were attracted by the star studded posters and promos.
This film will be a successful one for the buyers as it was sold for reasonable rates. Lavanya Tripathi’s LOL ended up as a flop as it wasn’t able to take off.
SARS need to do well until the next weekend if it has to come closer to the safe zone. For a change there won’t be multiple releases in this weekend. Bellamkonda Srinivas’s Speedunnodu is going to enjoy a solo release on this Friday.
Why Is NTR Always Sick?
The polling for the GHMC elections is underway since morning. Apart from the politicians and common people, several Tollywood stars like Young Tiger NTR, Nagarjuna and Amala, Allu Arjun, Rajendra Prasad etc have cast their vote and appealed to everyone to exercise their fundamental right.
NTR, who voted at the Obul Reddy Public School premises in Jubilee Hills, spoke to the media and requested his fans and commoners to cast their vote. NTR revealed that he has been unwell over the past few days, but still came forward to vote and fulfill his responsibility.
NTR’s appeal, though inspiring, his revelation of his health status caused a deep concern among his fans. Recently, the Young Tiger made headlines when he shot for the final dance number for Nannaku Prematho despite high fever to assure the film released as scheduled during the Sankranthi season.
Fans are worried if this overworking has taken a toll on NTR’s health now. On several occasions even in the past, NTR was either suffering from high fever or some other health reason and appeared quite full and jaded at a few film related events like the Memu Saitham Star Cricket match.
Why Akhil Not Voting?
Akkineni Nagarjuna has casted his vote for GHMC elections along with his wife Amala at a polling booth in Jubilee Hills. Basking on the success of Sogade Chinni Nayana, Nagarjuna has expressed his contentment to cast vote and asked every citizen to utilize their right to vote for choosing best leader.
“One will have right to ask leaders and government, if and only if cast vote,” opined Nagarjuna. Nagarjuna’s elder son Naga Chaitanya will cast his vote in Gachibowli, but his younger son Akhil is not voting.
When asked about this, Nag quipped, “Akhil is not voting, since his name isn’t yet listed in voters list.” But, one wonders, why the 21 years old Akhil is pending to apply for voter ID. Akhil has double citizenship with India as well as with the USA. He was born in San Jose, California, United States.
The young hero hasn’t yet applied for Voter ID in Hyderabad or any place in India. Not just Akhil, anyone in the country is eligible to vote here, if and only, they register for Voter ID. So, Nagarjuna should tip off his younger son to do it as soon as possible.
Anushka Unfollows Him!
While Bollywood is abuzz with the break-up of Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif, here comes the latest gossip about another couple. The new couple heading for splitsville in tinsel town is Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli. Apparently, all is not well between Anushka and Virat.
Adding fuel to the speculations, the duo ‘unfollowed’ each other on Instagram giving enough feed for rumour mongers. Fans of the duo too shocked with the latest and shocking development.
However, later in the day, one of the fan-run accounts noticed that Virat’s Instagram account has been facing a technical glitch as it unfollows or blocks accounts the T-20 skipper visits often.
But the moot question is then why did Anushka too unfollowed Virat. Looks like 2016 going to be season of break-ups in Bollywood.
Air Hostess Caught Stealing Food, Whisky Bottles
In quite a shocking incident, An Air India stewardess was caught pilfering Food, Juices, Liquor and whatever that she could lay her hands on after her duty in an international service bound to Colombo. The incident happened on 27th January, the officials have scanned the baggage of the subject following a tip-off and were amazed to find the stuff that she carried with her.
She was part of the team on AI-274 service Chennai-Colombo-Delhi and return Colombo-Delhi-Chennai with a night halt at Delhi. The stewardess was caught upon her arrival at Chennai Airport and was immediately taken-off the roster and an inquiry has been ordered to probe the issue.
AI have been victims of such mean behaviour from their employees which was eating into their resources, hence the new chairman Ashwani Lohlani declared that there will be zero-tolerance towards such acts to safeguard interests of the company.
The woman in discussion has carried Nuts, Whiskey bottles, Milk Packets, Fruit Juices, Tea Packets and many other things that she could collect and hide.
Apart from being a loss to the company, such incidents will degrade it’s image and will create a filthy impression in general public. Hope that the airline company will find a way to get rid of their endless problems.
Yesteryear actresses team up for Queen remake!
Yesteryear actresses – Revathy and Suhasini have teamed up for the Telugu and Tamil remake of Bollywood blockbuster, Queen. Revathy will be wielding megaphone for this bilingual remake. Suhasini will be penning the dialogues in both the languages.
She already finished writing the first half and will complete the second half in couple of months. The movie will go on floors in October or November.
Queen is the story of a young Punjabi girl, played by Kangana Ranaut, who embarks on her honeymoon to Paris after her fiance calls off her wedding. The lead cast of the film is yet to be finalized. More details of this project later.
