Regina Cassandra is going great guns in Tollywood pairing with medium range heroes although her trials to reach star heroes are sure to pay in coming months. Meanwhile, she is quite happy to join three star Tamil directors joining their hands to work on a horror subject. As reported earlier, Selva Raghavan is to direct a Tamil film to be produced by Gautham Vasudev Menon with SJ Suriya as hero.

As per latest reports, Regina received a call from director Selva to become a part of this untitled project by taking up lead heroine characterization. As soon as Regina completes the penign assignments in Telugu, she will catch a flight to Chennai for joining on the spot sometime in February first or second weeks.

During this growing career stages, Regina working with three star directors at one time is more than an opportunity she would have dreamt. Reports say, Selva prepared a spine chilling horror script which is all set to redefine the horror genre in Indian cinema. Congrats to Regina and also all the best.

Popular Malayalam-Tamil actress and comedian Kalpana Ranjani is no more. She passed away in Hyderabad on Monday. Kalpana breathed her last in Hyderabad’s Appollo Hospital. She was critically admitted to hospital and succumbed to it. Reasons for her ailment is yet to be made public.

She was sister of versatile actress Urvashi. Kalpana was 51-year-old. She is survived by son Kumar Sreemayi, sisters Urvashi, Kalaranjini, brothers Kamal Roy, Prince Nair.

Kalpana had bagged the National Award for the Best Supporting Actress for her performance in 2012 Malayalam movie “Thanichalla Njan”. The movie is heart-rending true story of a septuagenarian Namboodiri woman who was saved by a Muslim woman when attempted to suicide.

The film brought several accolades to Kalpana and received several appreciations. She had acted in over 300 films and was popular face cutting across regional language films.

Exactly two days after MS Narayana’s first Vardhanthi, his wife, Kala Prapoorna passed away this morning at their Jubilee Hills Residence in Hyderabad. She is 63 years old. She is reportedly suffering from heart related ailment. The problem aggravated after the ace comedian’s death.

Finally she succumbed to it this morning. So this is the second tragedy in the house in the gap of one year. MS Narayana and Kala Prapoorna have studied in same college in Bhimavaram.

Their families did not agree for the alliance since they belong to different castes. Finally they got married in Register Office in 1972 with the help of Parchuri Gopala Krishna who also worked in same college.

Ye Maaya Chesave provided first break for Naga Chaitanya. After five years, Chaitu, director Gautham Menon and music director AR Rahman are collaborating for yet another musical romantic entertainer Sahasam Swasaga Sagipo.

The film’s teaser released few months ago on the eve of Naga Chaitanya’s birthday had impressed films buffs big way. The movie which was supposed to release later in 2015, has been postponed to unknown date. As a matter of fact, no one knows when the movie will see lights.

Sahasam Swasaga Sagipo is a Telugu-Tamil bilingual, wherein Simbu is doing lead role in Tamil version. Simbu’s all projects in Tamil have been put on hold owing to his current bad situations. His career further damaged for crooning the controversial ‘Beep Song’ for which young sensation Anirudh Ravichander rendered music.

There are no takers for Sahasam Swasaga Sagipo, owing to the controversy. Apart from directing, Gautham Menon is also producing the movie in association with star writer Kona Venkat.

The director’s last few releases were duds and other producer Kona Venkat faced losses with his last production venture Shankarabharanam. Moreover, they can’t shot Telugu version separately, as it costs high for the producers. Let’s wait and see what the makers will decide on the project!

Siddarth in an interview stated that, he accepted the heroine centric film as the film is going to be sure shot commercial hit. A sequel to the successful 2014 film Chandrakala (Aranmanai in Tamil), the film is announced to be released on 29th January.

Young Tiger Jr NTR’s Nannaku Prematho has finally managed to get place in all time top 3 Telugu grossers in overseas. The Sukumar directorial is now third highest grosser after Baahubali ($6M) and Srimanthudu ($2.89M) in the region.

Nannaku Prematho grabbed the spot by beating Power Star Pawan Kalyan’s Attarintiki Daredi collections in the USA. The Trivikram Srinivas directorial collected $1.89M full run in the territory, whereas Nannaku Prematho has crossed the mark and is heading towards $2M gross.

Premieres delay, less screens, heavy competition and snow storm affected Nannaku Prematho collections in overseas. If things have favored, then the movie would have made far better business than this at the US box office.

Impressively, NTR with mass hero image is extending his market stamina in US for each film. Coming to Nannaku Prematho, the film is pure class entertainer unlike NTR’s previous films, so overseas spectators encouraged the movie.In the interim, Nannaku Prematho is doing decent business in AP, Nizam and Karnataka. The film is nearing Rs 50 crore mark and fans are anticipating for the moment!
